Dr. Fogel was outstanding. He was very thorough in his exam, specific to my particular situation and explained everything in great detail. I would highly recommend him to anyone. Ordering eyeglasses there always feels a little complicated though. It takes a very long time The prices always feel like a mystery. However, staff did help walk through the process and offer assistance with finding the right pair and explained the cost breakdown in the end.

I only have positive things to say about my visit. My wait time was minimal (under 5 min), all staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating. I switched here a few years ago, after my mom told me about her good experiences after switching here as well. I am so glad I did! Anytime I hear someone talking about looking for a new eye doctor - I always tell them about Wigton and Dr. Thrash!

We have had several emergencies over the years and they have always treated the situation in a helpful and timely manner which, as a Mother and caretaker, I truly appreciate. Dr. Fogel was wonderful. He gave a wonderful explanation to all of my questions. My only concern is the chairs with wheels in your exam room that roll when you sit down in them. I can just picture that chair rolling our from under someone and their landing on the floor and getting injured.

Both Rich and I came for our annual wellness visits. Fortunately only a very small change in vision for both of us. Neither of us opted to get new lenses at this point. If we would experience any problems, we would be in touch immediately. The staff was very courteous and we did not have to wait for our appointments. We were so pleased to be able to visit with Dr. Bill and then got to see Dr. Jeff from across the room. Wigton Eye Care are the ONLY Eye Doctors I have ever seen. I go clear back to Dr. Tom. I was his First patient and I hope there will be many, many, more using this new ADVANCED technology developed at the Macular Program. Dr. Rozakis along with Dr. Bakke have developed newer front line treatment for AMD well beyond AREDS. Early detection is important in disease prevention and treatments.

Dr. Dreier does an excellent job of explaining the test results in as much detail as you ask for and is very helpful with suggesting new contact lenses to try. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for an optometrist. On a side note, I hope that the office does not insist on masks the next time I go in for a checkup. If we've learned anything from the past two years, it's that masks are safety theatre and don't do anything to "protect the vulnerable" as the notices on the door and website said. I get it that the office had to go along with the restrictions like everyone else, but we need to get back to normal. N95 masks, which might actually help, are available for anyone who wants one. Everybody else should be able to breathe freely and not have to pretend that a piece of cloth on their face is doing anything.

Every person I came into contact with at Wigton during my appointment was cheerful and very friendly. Even the staff that had nothing to do with me checking in made it a point to say hi. The exam took almost 2 hours which I really appreciated since I felt I was very well cared for. I'm in my 60s and of course, eye health is very important to me. Dr. R. showed me all the pictures of my eyes and thoroughly explained what everything meant and made sure I had all my questions answered. Like I stated earlier, every single staff member I came into contact with was pleasant and we even were able to joke a little. As far as I'm concerned, Wigton Eye Care has a customer for life in me. Last time I went in and had to get glasses, I just picked them out and the woman told me the price. This time, I went in and unexpectedly had to get new glasses! The woman who helped me was so wonderful. I asked her to show me the most affordable sections and she helped me peruse and select cute frames. Then we sat down and she explained exactly how much money went into each feature of the lenses and what my insurance covered. She helped me work down the original place and showed me where I could shave a few dollars off. She was wonderful and so helpful!!

Unfortunately, I have had to go to an eye care professional for over 50 years because of poor eyesight. Through the years I have had some very good and some "not so good" experiences. But nothing has come close to my recent visit to Wigton Eye Care. It was awesome! I realize that there have been a lot of advances in technology since my first visit to the eye doctor when I was 10 years old, but there is a clear difference between Wigton's and anything else I have experienced in recent years. And not only is the technology improved, the staff and doctor did a great job showing and explaining what they saw. My visit was excellent however when my lenses came in I had my sunglasses on she brought my glasses out and said to call if there was an issue and when I gave them my glasses they fit perfect. When I got them back and put them on my face at 4:00 they were so loose on my head they kept falling off my face and hitting the ground. Somehow my new lenses did not get scratched thankfully and that was a Friday and couldn't get in for an adjustment until Thursday. I believe that optical should make you try them on before leaving especially because of Covid-19 appointment are so far out or during my working hours.

I love doctor Thrash, but I was very disappointed with the front desk staff on my recent visit. I work for an insurance company so I know my benefits pretty well. When I checked out and was given a total of almost five hundred dollars for an eye exam and one year supply of contacts I asked if my two hundred dollar allowance for contacts was applied. I was told I didn’t have contact coverage. I obviously knew that was wrong so I asked her to look again telling her that my exam should be forty and that I have a two hundred dollar contact allowance. She quickly flipped through my chart and again told me I didn’t have any coverage. I was not going to argue with her with so many people around so I paid the full price. As soon as I got into work the next day, I reviewed my eye coverage and sure enough it was forty for an exam and a two hundred contact allowance. I called the office and explained the situation, the woman asked who checked me out and although I had the receipt in front of me it did not have a name on it. She said hang on and passed me off to someone else. I reexplained the situation and apparently it was the girl that checked me out. She said oh I didn’t look at your equipment coverage. I could see if I didn’t know what I was talking about and don’t ask her to look again, but being I did all that and she repeatedly told me I didn’t have coverage, I find this very upsetting. If your job is to verify insurance coverage you should be doing that and not telling people they don’t have coverage. This is not the first time that this has happened to me at this office so maybe it is just a case of needing additional training, but it makes me rethink if I want to visit this office again.

I started out years ago with Dr. Bill's father and loved him. Dr. Bill is just as caring and explains everything about my tests very thoroughly. Even though I now live in Canton, OH I will continue to make the drive back to Butler for my eye appts.

Got in for testing in a timely manner. The doctor arrived shortly after the test were completed. Dr. Jeff put me through a series of tests and viewed my computer eye scan. He informed me that the cateract in my right eye was getting larger and to keep an eye on it and report back if any vision changes because of it. I selected from a sample of three frames that have sunglass clip ons. Disappointed here. However the tech was most pleasant and helpful in gettin all the necessary requirements, including an extra clip on. Good experience!

I thought my insurance would cover most of my appointment b/c I am having my new frames placed in my existing frames. Unfortunately, my insurance barely covered some of the very expensive tests I received and I wound up forking over more than $300. I should have asked when I checked in what my insurance would cover. I will not be returning to Wigton Eye Care, as others at my place of employment have told me there are other providers in our network who charge only a small amount over what the insurance covers. I'll try one of them next time. I don't have the money to pay $307 for lenses in my old frames.

What a wonderful experience! No waiting for an hour to see a doctor. My eye exam was the most thourough exam I have had. Dr Thrasher is amazing!
