The office staff is much improved, thank you! Everyone was courteous and helpful, my visit went quickly. I have been seeing Dr. McGough for about 25 years so that alone speaks to my satisfaction. I wear mono-vision contacts which are harder to balance with ageing and he always gets it right.

Great e xperience except I was not greeted, since it was my first visit at this location I did not know where to check in. I had to ask and then they lady was a little rude like I should know but it was strange that the checkin is at the back instead of the front.

Customer service was great! My wife was able to schedule our appointment together (back to back appointments) so it was nice to be seen in a timely manner. The ladies helping up get set up and prepared for the Doctor were very polite and pleasant company. The doctor was very kind and professional. Getting your eyes dialed in can be challenging, but the Doctor had plenty of patience and his experienced showed. This will be our eye doctor office moving forward, I'd definitely recommend this business.

I like both Dr Douglas and Dr McGough. They have looked after my eyes for about 30 years. However, their website is awful. I have tried to schedule and appointment online for the last 3 year, and it has never worked! For heaven's sake, fix the website or get rid of it!

I tried giving this place a three star rating but your system won’t allow me to do so. The only reason I’m not giving it a one is because the staff, excluding the eye doctor, went above and beyond our expectations. Amazing office staff but the doctor who did our exams had absolutely no personality. I won’t be returning.

Honestly over all my consultation was awesome. That is why I will leave my 5 stars. The only thing I would work on is the front desk lady. Not the lady that answers the phones and makes appointments. But the younger lady. I came in and was going to sign my name and she snapped at me telling me I don't need to sign my name. Then she handed me paperwork (it almost seems like she doesn't want to be there and was not polite at all.) I felt like I was a burden just by walking in. She does not have people skills. Even when she answers the phone it sounds like she mumbles. But everyone else were wonderful,. I went back up to the front to schedule my daughter an appt and the lady was very helpful and professional. I love the lady that checked me out helped me with my contacts (I can see why she has been there a long time she is awesome don't ever let her go). I hope my review is of help.

The machine that tests for glaucoma was not working. Dr. Douglas said my prescription did not change. I was given a set of contacts that was the same as my last prescription. The written prescription that Dr. Douglas gave me does not match my contact lens box prescription. Randy did a good job fitting my glasses. Lisa was very nice to work with.

Not capable of taking care of my Wife. We both have Humana and on Medicare, Her Humana was told by your team it wasn't active... Because of which with no insurance she passed on hers. I myself was approved. I was not totally happy with what I was to get with the cost of it to me after the insurance and Medicare. You didn't have a great variety of glasses to choose from in the line of what I was looking for. I got a far better deal with alot more for the money and at a lower cost with my original glasses purchased back at Christus Mother Frances Eye Center. After the eye exam, I was able with them to go down the street and pick up the glasses at their Christus Eye Mart with a bigger selection of frames, and got it that very day, at a lower cost.

Thank you to Dr. Drew Douglas and his staff at TSO. They were able to get me in very quickly after I had a mishap with a stick! The front desk employee that checked me in was very thoughtful and did her job quickly and with a smile on her face. They were able to get me back without much of a wait time at all and Dr. Douglas diagnosed me with a scratch on my eye and was able to prescribe me medication and send me on my way. During the whole appointment, I was treated with respect and I highly recommend them to everyone!

Have not received my glasses at this point. The doctor was pleasant. No response to my concern about dry eyes. Glasses were way more expensive, even with the $69 frames and insurance, than the last pair I purchased with very similar requirements.

We had 2 scheduled appointments and a follow up visit on contacts at the end of the day. They took care of all us and spent as much time with us as we needed to handle each person. Helped pick out glasses and assisted in determining the best way to save money with minimal out of pocket expenses. Our whole family uses TSO on Broadway and have had the best experience with them compared to surrounding competitors. Definitely recommend!

Dr. Mcgough what's my eye doctor ,only thing I was disappointed with my last appointment I was calling the office to let them know I was going to be 5 minutes late, was on hold till I made it to doctor office, walked in there was no customers at the time standing at the front desk ,she said can I help you, I said iam the one you still have on hold, she never said iam sorry, no explanation..so I just said I have appointment. If you having a bad day dont let the customers no.

On June 29, I had my second annual eye exam at Texas State Optical. On both occasions, I experienced the most comprehensive and effective eye exam in the past 20 years. My tests began on or before my scheduled appointment time and there was no wait or wasted time separating the tests. Upon completing all of the exams, I met with the Doctor and he completed the eye exam and provided detailed interpretations for all of the tests. Last year, my prescription glasses had to be returned because they just didn't feel right. There was no effort made by the TSO professionals to convince me that the lenses were fine. They retested and resubmitted the glasses with no stress created. When they returned I got the best glasses I've ever worn. Thankfully, I did not need to change the prescription this year. Dr.'s McGough and Douglas and their staff have me as a customer as long as I live in the Tyler-area.

I arrived in the office about 10 min prior to my appointment. My office visit was completed approximately 1 hr and 45min later. I was very pleased with the dr and staff but my time waiting was extremely long.

I have been seeing Dr Douglas for over 20 years. I have recently moved to Fort Worth but came back for my annual eye exam. Really not looking forward to having to change. Have always been happy here and treated well. The office has always been flexible and good to work with. I travel a lot so they have mailed contacts all over the country and the same when my boys were off at college and in the military.

The staff was super friendly and accommodating, from explaining my benefits to helping me pick the right frames. The only reason I’m not giving five stars is because of the wait time. I arrived at 10:30 for a 10:45 appointment, understanding that I would need to fill out some paperwork. I wasn’t seen by a tech until almost 11:45 and didn’t see the actual doctor until well after 12:30.

I was treated by the most caring people! I am so glad I came here! My family had a history of macular degeneration and being able to have photos of the backs of my eyes and have the results explained was priceless! Such a relief knowing my eyes are clear presently, of this problem! I am telling friends and family to change to TSO to get their glasses! My appointment was supposed to take approximately 1hr to 1hr 20 min...It took over 3 1/2 hours for a simple eye exam. As I sat for several hours I listened to the women behind the counter make comments about customers that came in and those that called on the phone. Making fun of them, or making comments about questions they asked. I listened to a doctor chew out an employee right there in the hall with zero aspect of privacy. I found the women behind the counter to not only be very rude, but also disorganized and basically just standing around. That being said the doctor did a great job and I am sure, in what is now going on the 2nd week, when I finally get my glasses, they will be great. I specifically told them about a doctors appointment and was assured I could be finished in about an hour. What I believe was a sales rep popped by unannounced and spent well over 3o minutes with my doctor during what should have been my exam time.

Never having had a need for glasses before, and not remembering the last time I had an eye exam, I was a little skeptical about going in. Pleasant and knowledgeable staff, already had my new insurance info before I got there. Was taken back for my work up very quickly, Dr. Douglas explained any changes to my vision from last years exam, pricing was reasonable. No pushy people trying to get me to buy all of the bells and whistles on my new glasses.

Confident that the eye exam and tests were done properly Eye ware displays and selection of eyeware undesirable and we're presently looking elsewhere to find frames. You won't find a Fendi, Gucci or Prada but a couple of Kate Spades. I'd say most are made in China frames.

My eye exam went great! Staff was friendly and helpful. I was pleased for the most part until I got to the part where I had to talk to the guy up front about my glasses; I brought in my brand new designer frames to be fitted for the correct prescription lens. That guy asked me for the receipt for my new frames, and when I said I didn’t have it with me, he said they would NOT let me use them! He said I would have to buy one of their frames OR come back with my frames receipt! He then told me I needed to bring in my previous glasses to make his job easier; said it would help him know a tiny number etched into the old lens, so he could know which one to use for the new glasses. I told him I’ve never heard of such demands nor ever experienced such previously; his attitude seemed smug to me. I had to check out with him and it got even worse; I wanted to pay by debit and he kept running it through as a credit and having to refund me. Finally a girl noticed I had been standing at the desk for a while and asked what was the problem; he told her what he’d been doing and she saw the stack of runs/refunds receipts and then said they don’t do debit, only credit!! Overall I pretty great experience until the end, as above. I would go back for eye exams, but probably get the new glasses somewhere else.
