At 25 years old, I was so nervous about coming in as I hadn't been to an eye appointment of any capacity since I was 13, with my mother doing all the work! From scheduling an appointment, completing the eye exam, providing insurance info, to picking out new glasses, the entire process was simple and seamless! Everyone at the Beachwood Mall location was so kind and patient with me! Would definitely recommend to a friend! Can't wait to visit again to pick up my new glasses!

DR Gordon was great as usual, but the optometrists need improvement. There is signage that suggests Affirm as a method of payment. The two ladies who assisted me weren't knowledgeable about how it worked. I ended up using a credit card rather than breaking my payments down without interest. I figured out how to use Affirm and returned to the store to see if I could cancel the credit card transaction and switch to Affirm and I was told it would cause problems and even cause me to be double billed. I suspect that the lady I spoke just didn't know how to do it. Mildly disappointed.

Seems the store was too busy to be busy. Conversations with other staff should end in deference to a standing potential client. Advertisement stated walk-ins were welcomed. It was morning, no more than 2 other clients there at the time. I felt a bit slighted. After finally being addressed after waiting for a conversation to end, I looked around for frames I might like while proving I was well insured. No frames really were worth waiting for an exam. Left, never to return. I might add that I tried a different location from the one in Willoughby which I found to be even worse last year. I'd rather pay extra out of network fees than to ever get an eye exam/ glasses with your company. The Beachwood location was the final confirmation. I'll call STRS and let them also know how I feel.

I felt comfortable with everyone I encountered. I did not feel pressure from the retail area nor the medical side. Dr. Gordon was there to help me and explained the procedures he performed. He did not try to bill me for services for which he did not perform. I have experienced that in other establishments in previous years.

I made my visit appt and was told yes covered by medicaid. When time to choose my eyeglasses, I was told they wouldn't accept my medicaid for anything other than exam. So frustrating. I would have booked elsewhere. Staff is grossly inept and I wasted one appt as they didn't get medicaid approval prior even when given the information. Second visit a waste of time as well since they didn't convey about the eyeglasses. I've used vision works for 7 years and 5 of them in Colorado. Worst staff other than Dr. Ever.

This was my first time at this store and everyone was incredible! I was able to make an appointment for just a few days after calling. I arrived early to my appointment to fill out paperwork, so the entire appointment took less than 30 minutes from when I arrived to when I left with my new contacts. The ladies at the eye exam desk were so friendly, and Dr. Gordon was awesome. I’d absolutely recommend to anyone in the area.

The two reception/staff were distracted by their phones when I arrived. I thought it was odd that they kept calling me "Becky" instead of Betsi but it can happen. They had pulled the wrong file. And after the pre-testing, discovered the error. It then took them 15-20 minutes to correct which then seemed to rush the Optometrist. In the end, I had a 5 minute exam. Fastest eye exam I've ever had which then gave me the feeling it wasn't thorough. Seriously, not thorough. When I went to check out, the same distracted receptionist was on her phone with clearly a personal call. She kept pointing to me what to do with the credit card machine and messed it up twice requiring me to wonder how many times I might have been charged. This is probably the 3rd or 4th time I've had my exam at this location and NEVER have I had such an unprofessional experience. It will probably be my last.

I arrived early for my 4:00 appt, at 3:45. I was told to sit in the main room, since the exam room waiting area was full. I was also told that they knew I was there. I waited for 30 minutes, until I finally walked back there myself to make sure they knew that I was waiting outside (after I saw 2 people who came after me get called back). The receptionist did not seem phased at all and did not offer any type of explanation. She just handed me a clipboard, without saying a word, to fill out paperwork. This is something I could've done during my 30 minutes of waiting. Once I finished, it took another 30 minutes before I was finally called back. I was given the initial eye tests and then brought back to the optometrist, only to be sent back to testing again because he found out that I was still wearing my contacts. If I knew this was the case, I would've taken them out myself a long time ago. It was now after 5:00 when I finally sat down for the official appointment with the doctor. There are definite communication issues among staff at this location. The lady who did my eye tests (both times) was the only one who apologized or sympathized with my frustration at all. If it wasn't for her I would've made a bigger deal to the rest of the staff. The optometrist was pleasant, but seemed rushed since I was an hour late for my appointment and there were more patients waiting. I feel as though he didn't do a thorough job because of this, although I don't blame him. I was also questioned as far as my insurance, as I guess I don't have a very common plan compared to most patients. I just wanted to pay and get out of there at that point, as it was almost 5:30 by that time. All I wanted was a simple eye exam in order to get an updated prescription for contacts. I was very disappointed in my overall experience, and I hope the staff understands the importance of good communication in order to run a successful office.

I usually do not have any issues with Visionworks. My kids and I have been coming for a few years now. Completely understand COVID has changed the dynamics of things but this last experience was just so-so. Our appointment was at 5, which was fine, only problem...unbenounced to us, a walk in was taken prior to our arrival. It was a family of 3, all being serviced. We get seen, and by the time we’re done it’s now 5:55pm. We then go to pick out frames, only to be told...”We close at 6, so you can browse and come back but we can’t complete a full order.” That absolutely was NOT my problem and I’m my opinion UNACCEPTABLE. They did NOT complete the appointment, and I’m very bothered by that. If you know you close at 6, why accept walk-in appointments? Why have 5pm appointments available? Appointment times should be cut off at 4pm, and maybe let’s not accept walk-in appointments past a certain time. That one decision pushed my 5pm appointment back, lessening time for my daughter to complete her FULL appointment. I absolutely WILL NOT be returning so that she can pick out frames, we’ll just take the prescription and use an online source for frames.

First time taking my daughter to Visionworks and it was a great experience. The doctor was thorough and answered all my questions. When it came time to get glasses Charlie was awesome! He took the time to help my daughter select the perfect frames, despite them being close and he never made us feel rushed or pressured. I was very pleased with his service and will return.

I loved the whole experience. They practiced great safety measures in light of the current covid-19 situation. Everyone was professional and took their time to answer all my questions. I went in for an exam and 1 pair of frames and ended up with 2 great choices.

Great staff!!! They have the most current technology and are very thorough. The doctor explained everything very well. They also sanitized everything in your presence and they provided gloves for my protection. Professional in every aspect.

THE SANITATION PLUS DISTANCING SAFETY MEASURES TAKEN WHILE PROVIDING THE BEST "HUMANLY COMPASSIONATE EYE CARE TO ME AND MY DAUGHTER WERE UNPRECEDENTED"! WE COULDNT HAVE FELT SAFER WITHIN THE WALLS OF THE STORE! JUST TO SEE MY CHILDHOOD OPTOMETRIST HEALTHY, HIS AWESOME STAFF WELL TOO, MY HEART WAS FULL OF LOVE! WE LAUGHED! I scheduled my eye exam with Dr. Gordon using the online appointment setter. When I arrived, I learned that Dr. Gordon doesn't work Mondays, and that Dr. Warn would provide my exam. I was perfectly fine with getting my exam from Dr. Warn, but it would have been better if I had known that Dr. Gordon wouldn't be giving my exam so I could have decided to wait for him if I preferred.

Dr. Gordon and his staff are phenomenal. Very friendly and professional. I have been going here for over 5 years for my eye exams because they are great and they take walk in appointments so I can come in at my own convenience.

Very professional and polite. I was very impressed with how fast an appointment was made for me. My sister referred Visionworks because of the exceptional experience she had with them. I’ve been wearing glasses all my life, this was the first time I felt the Doctor explained to me how my eyes work in layman’s terms! I feel very knowledgeable and I will recommend them to anyone who is in need of a optometrist.

The professionals that ran the office were patient, kind, and very helpful! They made sure that I had every thing that I needed. They contacted my insurance for me with additional questions to make sure that I would receive the best prices for their services. The wait time was a bit long, I believe 30 minutes or so past my appointment time, but this was most likely due to the fact that they were able to squeeze me into a same day appointment! Also, the wait time could have been due to the attention to detail the doctor offered to each patient. I only have a 7 rating because of the fact that the location is no longer very convinient.

I was told to arrive early. No one was there. I made an appt w one doctor, ended up seeing someone totally different. I spent an hour waiting to be helped by the one employee on staff. A second employee came in and immediately helped a person who came in after me. This place was a mess.

Dr. Warren (Waren… not sure about spelling) was knowledgeable and friendly. He took his time with us (both my wife and me) during our appointments and explained everything he was doing as well as what he found during the examination. The exam revealed a problem with my wife's retina, and he recommended a retina specialist that subsequently treated her, and headed off surgery... none of this would have happened had not the doctor performed and correctly interpreted the examination.

Super, super friendly customer service. Found the perfect glasses and was pleasantly surprised to find that the attendant seemed genuinely happy for me, interested in my choice, and invested in my experience at the store. She even asked before divulging information about my eye condition to the friend I took with me, which was extremely thoughtful and something I didn’t expect. I plan to come here every time I need new glasses!

The workers spent the whole time of my visit complaining to each other about office problems. I never was greeted properly or invited to come back. The doctor was very robotic (in his behavior) and speeded right through the visit. I was also told that I have astigmatism, but he never explained what it was or what that meant for my vision. I plan on getting another eye exam at another office. Then I was handed my prescription and dismissed with no direction or salutation. I waited in the store to be fitted for and choose frames. The worker asked about my insurance company, I was informed that they don't take that insurance. I was never asked if I wanted to be shown any frames or about the current sale, she just assumed I wasn't getting anything. But, actually I was interested in the same. I just decided to leave, thinking customer service is Dead !!!!!

The Dr's office portion of the visit was wonderful. Quick, friendly, informative. Dr was great, support staff knowledgeable and it was very easy, however, the actual sales team was lacking. There were dozens of people in the waiting area for over an hour with no assistance. I went in at 1:30 and didn't leave until 3:50pm and the was ALL due to the selection/ordering of the spectacle frames. Understaffed in sales area but drs office was GREAT

Dr. Gordon has been extremely helpful with my contact fittings. I'm a student at a nearby University and I'm from out of state. He was extremely flexible with fitting me in for an appointment and when my new pair of contacts were uncomfortable, he helped me find a brand that worked for me.
