Did not have a great experience. My son went to the Orem location for a contact and glasses exam. I purchased a years worth of contacts based upon the recommendation of the tech. I explained he wears daily contacts and was on his last pair. He was not given a trial set of contacts with his new prescription. I was told his glasses, contact prescription and contact order confirmation would come in an email. I did not hear from them email or phone for several days. I called to find shipping information for the contacts as my son was in the same daily's and was told they did not have his brand and then they were on back order, then to be told they had not been ordered on the other side of the system. I was told I could pick up trials of another brand of contacts. I asked for a delivery date to be found and the contact and glasses prescription be emailed to me during my hour drive to the office. I requested a refund. When I arrived they told me my email was not in the system. It was on the paperwork filled out at our visit. I spoke to 3 office people manager and district manager and still no answer. I was told I would get a phone call the next day by 10 am. No return phone call. I called back and was told the contacts were shipped and should arrived the next week. Horrible customer service. Our family will not be returning.

I've been going to Standard Optical for my glasses and contacts for years. They always have great service, a lot of styles/options for frames and usually pretty reasonably priced. I never have an issue with my glasses except for this time that I got my new prescription. I'm not sure if the prescription is wrong or what but I'll be getting a retest to see what's going on. Otherwise I've never had an issue prior to this time.

They couldn’t help me at all, apparently my eyes are a little unusual and the instruments they have couldn’t measure my prescription. I asked him what I should do and he said he has no idea, and then finished the exam and left. Yet I still had to pay for the visit. Not only that but this was my first time having an eye exam and he didn’t care to explain to me that the eye drops he was about to give would mess with my vision for the next 5 hours.

After you give me my glasses, I will never return. 1. my glasses were wrong when I arrived, not only wrong color but wrong style 2. I asked both times I was there (evaluation and pick up), and in a phone call before my second visit, to have my prescription printed: never happened. I called a 2nd time and got it emailed from the manager. The 4th time I asked.... 3. My brother went to a different standard optical where they specifically offered him styles to his face shape, I was not offered this service. 4. I was told I could not have the incorrect glasses for free, and that a "bottle of cleaning spray" would compensate for: my drive to and from standard optical, my frustration, their mistake, the additional time now needed for the correct pair, and I did not go home with the glasses I wanted. 5. To get this all through insurance we needed it paid with my mother card, which she gave over the phone. We both record our phone calls, so we know. I was asked to pay with my card at the end. We decided that we would have to fix it with the insurance and get reimbursed that way instead of making it right through standard optical and refunding and recharging our cards, we had clearly gotten the message they were too unprofessional. 6. I did not feel like ANY associate tried to get me the best glasses, best style, or deals. I asked about both deals (a school and insurance deal) I did research on my own and had to pick which I wanted, after they found their papers and did the math. I wish they would have offered different pricing options, better looks for my face shape, more deals that I could save with, and more add-on's, like the no glare or auto light adjust, because I might have gotten them since I was so involved with my mother on the phone during my visit. If there was a .5 or no stars at all I would have done it. I am still waiting on my correct pair of glasses

We had scheduled 4 appointments online: 2:00, 2:20, 3:20, 3:40. At 4:00 I was the only one to have seen the doctor. There was no one in the lobby, but it looked like they were over staffed. We finally got out of there AFTER 6:00. Four (4) hours to get our eye exams! They started pushing progressives for me almost the minute I walked in before I even was tested. They just assumed that I would need them based on my age (40s). The progressives were extremely overpriced compared to Costco. And then they tried to sell me 2 pairs of glasses at $600. It appeared that the doctor was in the exam room without patients and was surfing the web for personal stuff. The only good thing was their newest employer of Judy 2 days took great care of our youngest child with special needs. In sum, we won’t be returning nor recommending Standard Optical!

Standard Optical is great. I went to another optometrist recently for a yearly checkup, and was extremely dissatisfied with the "other" optometrist. I went back to Standard Optical tis time, and I was completely satisfied.

Excellent customer service! I've never needed eye care until my vision started changing in the last couple of years and I finally gave into getting an exam. I called three other places that were a turn off with their schedule, but Alyssa was welcoming, informative, quick and the doctor thorough.

5+stars. I will never ever try another eye care facility that advertise better prices. Saying you will get satisfaction or your money back. For 2 years suffered with poor vision. We have been visiting Standard Optical for 5 years. Very consistent service and thorough exams. The doctor uses older type eye exam machines. Still, I always like the prescription doctor gives me. Other places I have gone to in the past ..I seemed to end up with a prescription a little "off" in one way or another. Too strong or not adjusted enough for my astigmatism, etc.. I like my eye exams from Dr. Lewis at Standard Optical and he really is careful to check for one's eye health deep inside the eye. I recommend to make the time for the dilation. Eye appts. usually run a bit long. Plan to spend 1.5 hours between waiting, exams, paying. Plan longer if picking out glasses and lenses. They have a good selection of eye glasses including designer brands. We buy for ages between 12 years and 54 years. Personally, I would like even more trendy and bold designs but I am in the very small percentage of people who would consider such types. Office personnel are genuinely happy and sincere. Pleasant and willing to help. Easy to get appointment when needed and flexible with changes. Recently, doctor gave me 2 pairs of trial prescription contact lenses. Also, offered price matching on years supply of contact lenses. I have always been given good cash price discount.

I received a "free" corrective surgery consult which consisted of a new girl reading a pamphlet and her manager yelling corrections from across the room and insulting our finances when I stated I was in no rush for surgery.

I would like to thank the team at standard optical for helping me when I woke up unable to see. I work as an automotive technician and I managed to get microscopic metal shavings in both eyes, causing intense pain and poor vision. The doctor addressed the situation promptly and professionally and removed the metal from my eyes. I would highly recommend this team to anyone.

When I initially called to schedule and appointment, I asked if they accepted walk in's. I was told that they do accept walk in's but that it would really help their scheduling if I booked an appointment with them. I agreed and we went ahead and scheduled. We came in at 11:25 (I knew the appointment was scheduled for some time between 11:15-11:30) and was told that because I was 7 minutes late, we would have to reschedule, and to come back 2 hours later. Again, I was told that walk in's were accepted but scheduled as a courtesy... that is how I've always made appointments at Lens Crafters, and assumed Standard Optical had the same "walk-in" policy. If they had told me that they had a strict appointment policy, I would have called ahead to confirm the time. I was told that the doctor wasn't seeing anyone at the moment, but that he was leaving for lunch at noon & that he needed to eat because he has diabetes. When I sat to do the paperwork, I overheard the receptionist rescheduling 2-3 appointments that were prior to mine because they all missed theirs. In other words, the doctor hadn't seen patients most of the morning, and when someone actually comes in for their appointment (be it 7 minutes late), he has to leave for lunch??!!! Seriously?! That is no way to do business! I understand that you are trying to make strict policies to be in control of your schedule but that is not how you go about doing it. You don't chase away the one customer you had for the day. What might help is 1) Explaining your appointment policy during our initial call, and don't make it sound so casual as if we can walk in but are doing you a favor by scheduling... if you are just going to make us come back hours later for coming a little late. 2) If someone comes less than 10 minutes late, JUST SEE THEM! DON'T MAKE THEM COME BACK HOURS LATER!! It is evident that I am not the only person who feels that things need to change. Check your Google reviews! They are horrible!!

I have had a phenomenal experience with Standard Optical. They were extremely patient with me and very open about all my questions that I had concerning the operation and recovery. The operation itself went very smoothly and they were very open about explaining what all was going on and kept asking if I was feeling okay. I would highly recommend Standard Optical to anyone that is interested in getting LASIK or PRK surgery.

Customer Service was good. Didn't like the marker and plastic covered sheet to write on. Optometrist seemed to know his stuff. Cost of exam and frames was okay, but cost of lenses for glasses was like $500 alone. Way too pricey. Will go somewhere else next time.

They were so great! Theyvwere timely and thorough. I was very impressed with how polite everyone was. I have broke my glasses that I got somewhere else, and decided to try these guys out. I am so glad I did because I found out that the glasses I had before were the wrong prescription!(not from standard optical) which they explained could be contributing to my migraines. They got me fitted check and out quickly. And then the staff spent extra time helping me with my insurance. I have sort of a weird plan and we had to call and confirm a few things, but she made sure I was getting all the information and the best out of my plan. Thank you so much Dr.G !

The experience was poor. I walked into the office and had to listen to one of the staffs negative family issues, it was a bit uncomfortable. When I went into the pre-screening room I had to walk over brooms, snow shovels etc approximately 6 like sized items. The eye exam was very professional, comfortable, and personal. After the exam I spent almost an hour trying to be patient with the manager, which was walking around barefooted, and the staffer. They spent that time telling each other how important it was to meet their quotas and upselling me. I was quite clear on the fact I wanted the 2 for $69.95 promotion. They spent 20 minutes upselling on some in-house insurance plan for $50.00 and they kept going to the $179.95 frames. I told them that my wife called and was quoted approximately $100 each pair of glasses, with $89.95 frames. The quote I was given, with $49.95 frames, was $341.00 for one pair and $299.00 for the other. I have a basic prescription. AND THERE IS MORE.

Even looking at it objectively, Standard Optical's prices for LASIK are very competitive, and Dr. Williams' expertise exceeds my expectations. Very happy with my PRK, and I even after leaving the company I plan on referring everyone to do their laser eye surgery at Standard Optical because of the great pricing.

When I mentioned that we would need to leave soon, the office staff blamed it on me: said "filling out paperwork took a little long." Since I had arrived early just for that and only took 5 minutes to do it, I found that very incourteous. It took far longer than expected (just the waiting and pretesting--the exam time with the dr was fine.) There was inadequate seating in the waiting room--not enough for those who were there, even though it didn't seem terribly busy.

The only complaint would be regarding rebates. The last two contact rebates I tried to use, the company told me I didn't do the process correctly and didn't get the rebate. This time, I didn't even bother. Basically that is like losing $90. Really bothers me.
