My appointment was at 3:15 PM. I was met with smiling, happy people at the desk. Was taken care of immediately. Saw Dr. Quint timely and had a good result with the pressure in my eyes. Happy to see Debra, as she is now retired. am truly very satisfied with Smart Eye Care and love Dr. Quint.

All the staff up very friendly and everybody smiles! From the time you walk into the front desk people to the technicians that do some of the testing. Dr. Quint explains everything so that you understand and when you leave the office, you know exactly what’s going on with your eyes. Highly recommend this office!

I came in to have my eyes checked because I had not been in since 2017. Had an eye exam in which the doctor came if for 5 minutes and after the testing told me I had a lot of eye lid mites and recommended I get this cleaning done at the office. Not knowing that everyone in the world has eye mites, I agreed and paid out of pocket. After the "eyelid cleaning" I went to cash out and wrote the check for $183. because that cleaning was not covered by insurance. I handed my check to the receptionist and was walking out the door and realized I didn't know what my was needed for glasses. The Doctor said my "prescription has changed", hence I figured I would need different glasses. No one said anything until I asked the receptionist and she told me I should probably switch to 2.00 magnification from the 1.5 I have been using. That is the Doctor's responsibility and not the receptionist. My wife laughed at me for paying to get my eyelids cleaned and said I had been swindled. I believe she was right and will not be patronizing SmartEye Care in the future.

Spent very little time with the doctor. The tech was great, but it bugged me a little for what we pay. I like the practice and the staff was very good, but a little more face time with the doc would make them great.

I LOVE the personal attention I get in the Augusta office! Nicole always makes sure I leave satisfied with my purchase, and confident my glasses will fit perfectly. It's great knowing that I will be seen by the same person everytime--I feel like Nicole knows my style preferences, and the extras I want, which saves SO much time for me. Very convenient to stop on my way to work, or during lunch.

I did not need to wait, arrived at appointment time, checked in, completed form, lady came out and started the pre check in with questions and machine checks. Had a few minutes to say Hi to a beautiful dog, very friendly. Dr Quint came in did exam explained exam and answered all my questions. Checked out and scheduled appointment for next year. Everything went very smoothly no waiting around. I was on my way to meet my friends for lunch.

While your staff was quite pleasant, they seem frustrated about how to get things done. I am disappointed in the level of service I received. The issues with my eyes were not properly addressed or made clear. It was just a regular eye exam & after 2 hours, the Doctor finally said she would send a prescription to my pharmacy. That was over 24 hours ago, & the pharmacy has not received that order at all. I called the Eye Care office twice & left a message. No reply.

There were tests scheduled that I did not have informed consent. I thought I was there for something else. I made it clear that I only wanted services covered by insurance. Tests that I have had just a year ago. I was told were fine by Dr. Tobyne.

This was a terrible experience and one that will cause me to find another eyeglass/optometrist in the near future. First I was told that Johnson & Johnson Acuvue contact lenses will be discontinued in the near future and was given Precision one contacts to try. The contacts were comfortable but I couldn’t get them out of my eyes. It was almost like they were glued to my eyeballs. I checked with Acuvue to see if they were discontinuing the contacts and the answer was NO! Next I was told there was a problem with a rash that was forming on my upper eyelids and I was told that they would place a prescription with CVS. That’s all I was told. Didn’t know who, what, when, where this would happen. I received an email from CVS stating that I had to open an account which I did and still nothing happened. I finally had an online chat with CVS and was told that my insurance would not approve the medication and no one from Smart Eye Care has rectified the problem so they could not help me further. Last year, after paying for services not covered by my insurance smart eye care billed me twice for something that I already paid. I’m tired of wrestling with smart eye care. I am now in the process of investigating other eye care providers in order to make a switch with someone more competent.

The tech that saw me did a good job, if a bit scattered. Maybe she is new? The doctor blew into the room like a tornado and the next 10-15 minutes were just zip, zip, zip. Done. She’s out of there. Not much of a connection. At the front desk I was never invited to look at eyeglasses. Overall a not very pleasant experience.

The doctor and staff at Smart Eyecare are the best in town. I had a zero minute wait time from when I checked in to when I was seen. Everyone was confident, capable and had a smile on their face throughout the entire visit.

I didn't mind the doctor, she was actually very good and seemed like she really knew her stuff. I am totally unimpressed by the amount of time i had to waste and for an annual check up it was fine in less than 15 minutes. The doctor spent 5 minutes with me while the tech silent about 10. Every year i go to the scheduled appointment (its scheduled by the smart eye care team and I just place in my calendar) and because I'm a type 1 diabetic I need my eyes to be dilated. I can tell you step by step how the appointments going to go, what they are to do next ect.. today was way different. I've always had to wait. But sure if it's just a you understand type of deal, but its a lengthy slow moving appointment. For some reason my appointment was scheduled too soon (so insurance may or may not cover this appointment) after measurements are taken you get left in a room to dilate for over 30 minutes when it only takes about 10 minutes for it to be affective. Anywho, i was just getting scenes by the tech who put everything in the computer, had me recite alphabetical letters from the wall. Then the most bizarre experience Haldane. The doctor did not come in to check my eyes, the tech put my drops in, and leaves me there (for over an hour) i go and find someone *half blind *and they tell me the doctor is in with someone and will be out shortly, 25 minutes go by and finally comes in, she looks at my eyes for no more than 5 minutes and prescribed something for dry eyes and leaves the room ditching me with the receptionist

Office staff and techs and doc were allgreat...I had to be given a double dose of drops for dilation and I've developed an allergy to the color...my face puffed all up , my eyes closed and I had to take a steroid treatment for a few days ...how can I get tested without the dye? Is it possible? I had to tell the dentist the same thing with color in the paste ...same results only they could treat me without the dye...

Dr. Quint is superior and the practice overall is excellent but user friendliness is a disaster. I was got a reminder that I was due for an appointment, good, but then waited 5 days for a call back to set up an appointment, not okay. I am very disappointed. I experienced a great deal of difficulty with a pair of glasses (lost orders, incorrect lenses, etc.). The glasses still didn't seem right, and a second vision test was performed. I'm still experiencing problems with the glasses and had another prescription test/exam and was told the prescription is correct and that I "should be seeing" correctly. I got the feeling I was being told my vision isn't that bad and that I was expecting too much. I continue to see blurred double images when driving and the glasses don't help.

My appointment was scheduled for 11:45. I arrived on time. At 12:15 when I ready to see when I would be seen, an assistant noticed that I had been waiting. She went to see what was going and came to tell me that I would be helped shortly. I understand that things come up but to not be acknowledged and explained why the delay is frustrating.

I was very happy with the customer service that I received. Will was helpful, knowledgeable and told me about the free pair of glasses that I was eligible for. Although I am a repeat customer, this is the first time I've been told about this option. The glasses I chose were a special order, so it was nice to have the second pair ready sooner so that I can wear them until the other pair arrives.

I’m generally pleased with the levels of eye care I receive at Smart Eye Care. However, less so with your customer service. Extremely difficult when you need to speak with someone. It can take me days to set up an appointment — because your staff don’t return calls in a timely manner. For my latest appointment — I had to call back three times over three days to try and set up an appointment. Despite leaving voice mails messages — messages routinely went more than 24 hours before being returned. Sometimes, messages are never returned.

I love my optometrist but what gets me mad as heck is that I say no tests unless covered by insurance and lo and behold when I check out I get charged a $100 for one of the tests they say at checkout that is not covered. I call this fraud and greed.

Some areas for improvement: - when I asked for the inter-pupil measurement the doctor seemed to take offense and said that she didn't do that and that I could pay them to check that out front. This is a necessary part of a prescription if you are going to use it to purchase eyeglasses online/mail-order and in the past the eye doctor that checked my vision took it and wrote it on the prescription when I asked. It takes maybe 20 seconds. Either the eye doctor should do it or there should be an easy hand-off to somebody out front who would take the measurement and add it to the prescription, no charge. This should also be in your electronic records in case I need to call to get my prescription. - I left with a card that I assumed would have my prescription on it. Actually, it just had the time/date for my next appointment and I had to call back in to get my prescription e-mailed to me. It was partly my fault for making an assumption and not checking the card before I left but this was unnecessary and annoying. Both of the above incidents made me feel like Smart might be trying to prevent me from purchasing eyeglasses elsewhere to protect the profits from the captive eyeglass store out front with its absolutely staggering markups and high-pressure sales tactics (up-selling, reminiscent of new car dealer experience). I am probably reading something into this that wasn't there, I am a skeptical/suspicious person. These could have just been oversights and not a medical provider putting their profits above my welfare as a patient. The inter-pupil distance shouldn't change and I had already measured it myself with instructions off the Web years ago when I first ordered glasses online and it matched the distance measured by the eye doctor at my next eye exam so I didn't need it, just wanted to confirm and to have it on my prescription.

The Smart Eye Care Team was able to get me in to see the doctor on a very short 1 day notice regarding my contact possibly being stuck in my eye. I'm not sure the technician, Leah, was perhaps experienced enough in lens issues to understand what I was experiencing. I have for some time clearly detected a yellow tint when looking through these glasses - also, by nightfall, my eyes had become so tired from trying to focus that I would give up wearing them. Thought some of my problems could be due to winter white so waited til spring to come in. Thought possibly a positioning adjustment might have helped with the focusing. Since tech could/would not detect my issues I went ahead and ordered/paid for replacement lenses. Was there an hour and a half.

Dr. Tobyne cleared up a misconception I had about my double vision - it was cured by the prism I received on my last visit. She found that my cornea was very irritated and is having me try a new drug for that for a month. Overall, it was a successful visit. I only have one problem left: dry eye. I checked in and didn't have to wait long at all before being taken back. The nurse(not sure of her job title?) brought me into one room to do a few tests on the machines. After that we went to a different room, did some eye tests using the alphabet chart. Man I'm blind! lol She finished and left and soon after the eye dr came in and did my exam. From check in to checkout the staff was super friendly and caring. They explained every step along the way and made me feel very comfortable. It was a great appointment!! :)

Very disappointed with my most recent visit. Have been a patient for a few years and this is the first time I have felt the office was unorganized and rude. It all began when I was called a few days before my scheduled appointment (scheduled months in advance). A message was left on my voice to return their call. I immediately call back and find there is no way to reach anyone without leaving a voicemail. So I leave a voicemail stating I’m calling in regards to the message I just received and gave all details (name, upcoming appt etc). I go back to work and have my phone off and return to a voicemail stating something totally unrelated to what I called about. From that point on we were exchanging voicemails. I think an office should have the option to speak to a human. The call was to inform me we needed to change my upcoming appointment. When we arrived at the appt (new date that was given to us) it was clear we were fit into an already packed schedule. The front desk was extremely rude and wouldn’t let me finish a sentence when explaining insurance. I have called and left 2 messages regarding an error in billing and have yet to receive a call back (a week later). Dr. Tobyne is an excellent doctor and I’m sad we won’t be back because of the office staff.

I am very happy with the end result of my new frames. I got new frames in December but the lenses were making sitting at a computer very uncomfortable since I was having to tilt my head back to sufficiently view my computer screens. My son didn't actually even see the doctor. The appointment was for 10:15. At 10:40 I finally went up to the desk to reschedule. Someone came out and said they could take us to a room but I was told it was going to be at least another 30 min before the doctor even came in. I understand patients have questions and things happen and appointments run over. The least that could be done though is to tell me when I checked in that the doctor is running an hour behind and offer to reschedule or tell me I could come back in an hour. When I rescheduled I got a text with my new appointment and a "reminder" that a $50 no show fee may be applied. It bothers me that the offices time is valuable but mine apparently is not. I recieved no apology for anything either.

I went in for an exam which included the 3 separate tests covered by insurance. Somehow still ended up with a $71 bill which included a $20 copay. When questioning this, I was the one to inform the front desk that my medical insurance should cover the exam…even after my medical card was requested at check in. My eye insurance covers a yearly contact exam…I get the copay, but still not sure where the other $51 is coming from. Also, I should not have to ask questions in order for it to be billed right.

I've had three appointments with the lab - to replace an earpiece from an older pair of glasses, to get new progressive lenses for my sunglasses, and to adjust that pair of glasses (my fault). Had an appointment for 1:30PM on Thursday Sept.1st. I was taking right in and started my eye test right on time. Eye test went OK. One suggestion I have is to have a small table or shelf so the patient has a place to put any items on they have with them. In my case I had my hat and glasses in my lap durning the test. In the darkened room and leaning forward to take the test my glasses fell to the floor. This test takes a fair amount of concentration and not having to worry about the items you are holding in you lap would be a big help. The testing was completed at 2:00 pm. I was told that they would notify the Dr. and that she would be in to see me. At 2:30 I was told that the Dr would be in shortly. At 2:45 after waiting 45 minutes in the exam room after the completion of my eye exam I could not wait any longer because I had another appointment to get to, so I had to leave. I then missed your call at 4:08pm. because I was at my other appointment and I leave my cell phone in my car when I have an appointment. Thanks Richard.

I needed a quick appointment to have a BMV form completed. The gentleman who took my call was very polite and helpful and got me in as quickly as he could. He was also at the door to greet patients and again very respectful and polite. My husband also needed his glasses repaired which was done while I had my appointment. Everyone is very friendly and professional. I travel quite a distance for appointments.

Staff was wonderful as always. The doctor was running a little behind but the lady that checked me in checked on me as I waited in the room and kept me up to date. Very courteous. The doctor, as always, was amazing and very kind. She listened to everything I had to say and made sure I get in the best contacts possible. After my appointment i needed my old glasses repaired and looked at new ones to purchase. The woman that helped me with my glasses (unfortunately I forgot her name) was amazing. She was very kind and knowledgeable. She explained my insurance and prices to me and made sure I got the best deal possible. She broke everything down for me so I knew everything I was paying for towards my glasses. I couldn’t have asked for better customer service! The only thing that could have been better is a break down of my exam charges when I checked out. I was confused on the cost of my exam. A print out or something of charges would have been nice so I could see the breakdown and what insurance covered.

For a number of years I went to MEEI in Boston for my eye exams. My whole family has/had AMD and I wanted to have confidence that I was getting good care. After 2 incorrect prescriptions I changed to Smart Eye Care. My exams are more thorough, I noted their equipment is more up to date, and I receive follow up exams. I don't have AMD but I have had 2 other symptoms that needed attention and I'm receiving what I feel is excellent and personal care from them. I recommend Smart to anyone.

I lost my glasses called told them they said no problem ordered them told me it could take up to three weeks seven days later had my new glasses they called me.
