I had to tell the technician who cleaned my teeth to floss under my bridges. She glossed the easy parts. Also, at checkout there is a “Goal board” for the staff to reach ie Goal for number of crowns, fillings,… I think it’s something the patients should not see.

I had a tooth extracted and expected to experience moderate discomfort. I didn’t feel any discomfort and I didn’t even realize Dr. Shepherd had removed the tooth. Everyone is always so pleasant and professional.

I began going to Quail Valley Family Dental in December 2022 and have been extremely satisfied. I found out about them via their sponsorship with Big 6 Bar-B-Que at the Houston Texans Tailgate games. The services I have received have been above top-notched! They are professional, courteous, and all around outstanding from the front office staff to the owner/doctor. They treat you as if you are the most important person in the world, as they have no biases. I have recommended several of my friends and colleagues especially those that live in the surrounding area to visit them, as they to will be extremely satisfied. Also, the office staff and doctors dress up for holidays which shows they have fun while they work - which is a good balance.

I've had both fillings and completed my Invisalign treatment with this dental practice, and I couldn't be happier with the results. The process of getting my fillings was surprisingly easy, quick, and virtually painless. Dr. Shepherd is undoubtedly an expert in her field, and her skill made the experience smooth and comfortable. One thing I truly appreciated was the personalized touch they offer. During my treatment, I had the option to listen to music or watch a movie, which made the entire process more enjoyable. The staff members are consistently warm and welcoming by going the extra mile to address you by your name! My Invisalign journey was equally impressive. In less than six months, I was able to correct several gaps and a crooked tooth, resulting in a beautifully aligned smile. The Invisalign specialist (whose name escapes me, unfortunately) was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Her expertise shone through in her clear and comprehensive answers to all my questions during each visit. I am absolutely thrilled with my new smile and deeply grateful to the entire staff for their expertise, professionalism, and the exceptional care they provided throughout my dental journey. Did I also mention that they take evening appointments on Wednesdays? This makes scheduling my future appointments easy because I do not have to worry about taking off of work. Thank you!

Dr. Shephard is professional and personable. She explained the procedure and was gentle. Her manner of dentistry is exceptional. I also appreciate the care of her dental hygienist (he did not provide me with his name). His after care directive was explained thoroughly and I've applied his suggestions. I will return because of these two reasons; however, the 4 instead of 5 star rating is given because of the length of time spent in the office and my interaction with one of your front desk associates. Regarding the length of time, I had an 8 am appointment and did not leave until 11 am. This was due to the waiting period between my x-rays and dental hygienist session. I was escorted to the billing room and waited an unreasonable time for service. I recommend verifying insurance prior to a customer's arrival. I've never been required to move examination rooms for this reason and think there is a more efficient way to handle insurance and billing. The billing associate was very kind and professional. My problem was with the process not the individual. Finally, the front desk clerk referred to me more than once as "love" which is not only inappropriate but unprofessional. I mentioned to her it was not okay to call patients "love". Her reaction was surprising in that she told me, "Well here love is fine because there are individuals who may be transgendered who don't want to be called Mr. or Ms., so I had to find another term that wouldn't offend them." She didn't utilize the instance as a teachable moment. I didn't want to embarrass her and let it go; however, it is important that she receive further training in this area. I am a lawyer of 27 years who is also a civil rights subject matter expert in the areas of discrimination based upon characteristics including sexual orientation and gender. I recommend adding an optional section on your intake form after the name to ask, "What is your preferred name and title?" This is best practices.

I recently had an appointment and my benefits were not properly verified. I do understand that the staff may have been given incorrect information but on the day of my appointment they did get the correct information. My issue is that no one called me and told me that I owed an additional $300 before I got there so my appointment had to be canceled. If the staff knew that morning that I owed additional money I should have been called that morning not told when I got there. They wasted my time and I don't appreciate that.

I came from another office where I did not feel comfortable and had a lot of questions. The dentist and hygienist broke down what was going on way more than the other office and left me feeling knowledgeable and comfortable about my situation. The only issue was I did need a filling replaced because of pain and had to reschedule three times because of various incidents on their end. However, the incidents were understandable and the scheduling staff was professional about my frustration.

Outstanding dental office to have your dental needs taken care of! The location is in a strip mall so that allows for ample parking. Saturday hours are a plus, friendly greeting when you enter the up-to-date, clean office. My hygienist was outstanding (and gentle, but thorough). The doctor (can't remember her name) also checked my teeth to make sure I didn't have any underlying issues. She also took the time to make sure that I didn't have any additional questions. I LOVE my new dental office and the excellent care they gave me. My husband sent me out as the guinea pig because he knows I'm so picky. After my report back to him, he has scheduled his appointment. You won't be sorry if you take the time to schedule yours as soon as possible.
