Kaitlyn, my surgery coordinator, was very helpful, considerate & patient with me. She assured me when pharmacy could not supply my eye drops because of a backorder and encouraged me when I was late on due dates with instruction to just submit forms as soon as I could. All these interactions kept me confident as the surgery date for my eyes got closer. Thanks Kaitlyn!

The doctor and person who arranged the consultation, Ayda Said, were excellent. Ms. Said in particular was fantastic in finding me a consultation slot with the right doctor (my optometrist thought I'd have to be examined by two specialists). The doctor was also good. However, the visit was marred somewhat by two issues. The inaccurate address meant that I had to circle around twice before finding the place. Secondly, the equipment I was asked to rest by chin on and face against was greasy from a previous patient. This was quickly cleaned by the assistant. However, this should not be acceptable in a medical facility and even more so during the current COVID-19 pandemic.

I received several texts and phone calls confirming my appointment. Once I checked in, I asked how long I would have to wait. The cashier went from nice to nasty immediately. She informed me that this is a real doctor and I would have to wait until whenever I was called. I felt unsafe because it was crowded in there and offered to reschedule. She told me I couldn't because I had already checked in. Although I felt disrespected, I waited 31 minutes before leaving. My time and pride are valuable. This was a $40 lesson for me.

My name is Teresa Wiley this e-mail is for Dr Diane Golub on 12/2/2020 i had a scheduled appointment with her. During the appointment after she examined me she mentioned that the injections that i am currently receiving from Dr Harlan may be affecting my cataracts in someway? this is what i want to know are the injections affecting my cataracts? On Monday January 18,2021 i have appointment with a Dr.Patel at your Mercy Hospital location to take a further look at my cataracts. In addition while i was at the appointment Dr. Golub mentioned that she hat not seen me in a year this was not through no fault of my own on last July 3, 2019 i had a scheduled appointment with Dr. Golub and i wish someone had told me before i used my time and my money that she was not going to be in the office on July 3rd as i received confirmation of my appointment on that day but no one contacted me to tell me she would not be in the office. As i was about to leave i was told that i could see a Dr Novotny? i saw him and was sent on my way dont know if he put my seeing him in my record or not? from the way Dr Golub spoke the day of my visit on December 2nd he did not? my concern is i was not told last July 3rd that she was not coming in my time is just as valuable as Dr Golubs and when i called to get information as to how to contact Dr Golub recently the person who answered the phone stated well she is busy or sometimes she is not here so you just cant speak to her. That was not why i was calling for her to just stop what she was doing to come and talk to me i was calling because i wanted to know how to reach her i felt insulted a little courtesy on the phone goes along way. And letting me know when the doctor is not going to be in the office so i dont waste my time and money helps me a whole lot. Thank You

I very much appreciate and commend the personal service when I am actually at one of the offices, all of the staff and Dr. J. Katz are wonderful and make you feel that they care. I also feel that Dr. Katz and his staff are very competent and I trust them with my eye care. My only concern is that is very difficult to navigate their phone system, in that I rarely get in touch with a "live person" when I call in (need to leave a message; and when you are busy it is frustrating to have to wait for a callback, and often times receive the callback when you are not available, etc...). Dr. Katz did acknowledge this short-coming and personally told me that he is attempting to remedy this situation.

I had 2 visits-one on friday and one today-tuesday- i waited 20 mins for my appt and today i waited 1 hour. i had to wait on friday for 1 hour just to get some photos of my eye and over a half hour today for the dr to come in the exam room. i also had to pay 40.00 copay on both visits and that should be a follow up- i also have another appt on friday and they said i have to pay another 40.00 copay-this is not fair to have to pay 3 copays for the same problem on follow up visits.

I use this service because it is the only local option available through my insurance. For my annual eye exams I get the impression that no one actually cares about me; the goal is to complete a exam checklist and get md out the door. The lack of caring for customers is the office vibe that starts from reception's bellowing out names instead of walking to the waiting area to greet patients as people.

Katzen Eye Group-Mercy goes above and beyond in giving their patients excellent eye care. On a personal note, Katzen has helped my vision to the point that I only need glasses for reading very small print which, by-the-way comes with age.

Doctors, in general, can be distant, which I believe creates barriers to positive patient outcomes. Dr. Golub is personable, funny, to the point and smart. I had questions and she had answers. The technicians were awesome, too. All were super friendly. Thank you! (The waiting room is very depressing. It needs a makeover. Bright and cheerful would be nice.)

I had a 2:30 appointment. I expected to wait about 30 minutes, which seems average with doctor appointments. However, to wait close to or over 60 minutes to be called for the first step of the appointment is really bad. My entire appointment was about 2 hours from beginning to end. Either they need more staff at the office, or maybe suggest the Townson office if you get served faster at that location. I have a respiratory problem and I became a little uncomfortable during my long wait. The staff is very professional, but the long waits override their professionalism.

I have been a patient of The Katzen Eye Group for many years. When it was discovered that I suffered from macular degeneration during a routine exam while I was being prepared for cataract removal by a Katzen Eye Group physician there was no question but that Katzen doctors would look after me.. Despite the fact that I was not told in advance by my doctor what I could expect in the degree of pain and eye blurriness I would suffer following treatment for the macular degeneration in my left eye, I still want to have confidence in the Katzen physicians and to use them in the foreseeable future. I am sometimes frustrated and troubled by the brevity of of time available with a doctor as they rush to complete exams and then move on to the next patient in a very full schedule.

There are serious communication issues with your offices - I was not told at my annual check up that I would need to come back for a contact fitting. I ordered contacts at least twice in three months (because every time I ordered, my request was ignored and fewer contacts were ordered than I requested). I was unable to reach the contact department after multiple attempts and left multiple voicemails, and then I was transferred to the appointments department when I finally did reach the contact department. The appointments department then told me I needed to come in for a contact fitting, which I had not been told previously, and so I had to take time out of my schedule to come back. The check-in desk kept trying to bill me for a second annual checkup and I had to reiterate I was only there for a contact fitting. No one seemed to understand what that was or why I was there. I was given tests I had already done at my checkup, told to put in contacts, take them out, and put in others that were identical to what I already had in. Told I may or may not have to come back again to see if the contacts fit properly even though they were the same brand and only a slight alteration to the prescription. I have had contacts for 20 years - if I have a problem, I have no issue or compunction in calling to address that problem, I don't need to repeatedly take off of work to come to your office and tell you "I have no issue". I then placed an order for contacts after my appointment which took entirely too long (over 30 minutes) to simply click a few boxes and ask how many I wanted, but I didn't want to leave without ordering contacts since it took me several days the previous time to get a hold of the department to place orders which were not fulfilled properly. Additionally, several people had their cell phones on full volume in the waiting room, and nothing was done except by other patients to ask them to turn them down. I'm considering changing providers.

Terrible service. I often wait more than 30 minutes after my appointment time to be seen. This appointment, 15 minutes after my appointment time with the doctor, I was told I needed to see the optical department first (because this was a prescription recheck) and then waited another 10 minutes for that department. I finally got called back for my appointment with the doctor an hour after the scheduled time. You require customers to respect appointments and give 24 hours notice or be charged, but you don't respect customer's time.

Of all the medical facilities (that I can recall) that I’ve ever been to for appointments, Katzen Eye Group @ Mercy Hospital has, by far, the most welcoming and professional staff. What makes it stand out is that each and everyone on the team “aced” their service. From the front desk staff who signed me in- to the nurse who took my eye pressure and the Dr. -to the person who measured me for frames, they were ALL patient and gave too-notch service. Funny ... but at one point in time I actually wondered if there were invisible cameras:) I was truly very pleased by their attention to costumer service. More importantly, I was in and out in a very timely manner and left the facility very satisfied knowing that all my needs were met. Had I not have the opportunity to write this review, I intended to mailed in my appreciation for their service, c/o to whom concerned. Dr. Williams is the best. He is the only specialist who had found the perfect treatment for my keratoconus. Not even an opththmalogist was ever able to come up with a great treatment option. The office is showing wear/tear. The staff never acknowledges you until they call you up to the desk. I usually visit the York rd location, however, due to insurance changes the Mercy location is my only option. The staff had us sitting for 30-40 minutes while my insurance was verified. This process usually happens before you arrive to be seen. What if they discovered I wasn't covered (this would have been a waste of my time & gas). So other patients were going back to be seen ahead of me. I love my doctor, only reason I would consider going back.

The first eye testing machines broke down. Waiting on doctor for 20 mins. They assumed I had used eye dilation drops before ,without explaining to me what it was they were using and the side affects. I had to drive to work with eyesight difficulty not fully understanding until I asked someone else. Not professional at all.

I had went to the ER for an emergency eye issue. They couldn't treat me there but they called Katzen to see if they could see me, within 1/2 hour I was being seen and treated. I have never had an eye doctors appointment take so long 2 hours. They we 30 minutes late taking me in for my appointment, no one said we are behind. I was on time for my appointment. The check up and doctor visit was actually reasonably timed but then they had me wait 20 minutes to order contacts. After 20 minutes I said I needed to leave and they imediatly had someone available. No one said sorry for your wait, then the person ordering my contacts didn't even say hi or look at me. He ordered the contacts and said I could pick them up at the office in a week, I asked about delivery to my house and he said it would be $15 more, all this took 30 minutes! I could have ordered my own contacts online in 15 minutes with free delivery. Such a hoax just to sell you some glasses that I didn't want or need.

Your staff is very professional and good -- once you get to see them. But -- in what has become a recurring problem -- coming to your office means waiting forever. I was on time for an 8:45 appointment but was not called back until 9:10. The staffer quickly did a few checks and gave me eye drops, and said the doctor would be back to see me in 15 minutes. In fact, the doctor came back to see me in 50 minutes. Together, that means I spent 1 hour and 15 minutes waiting for your staff. I can understand 15 minutes. BUt one hour and fifteen minutes? And this has become the norm for you. I'm guessing this may have to do with over-booking to keep costs down. But we or at least some of us who come to your downtown office are super busy professionals, and my time, is money, too. Your staff suggested I only book first of the day appointments in the future and promised me no wait if I'm listed to be first. I will try that. But I am disgusted with you and prepared to return to getting my eye care from Hopkins physicians, where I used to go, for my eye care. I turned to you because, in theory, coming downtown is more convenient. The consistently long waits I experience negate that convenience. You should seek to address this!

I can honestly say that this is the worst experience I have ever had at an OD. I just moved to Baltimore and was in search for a new OD so this was my first appointment at this practice. My exam did not start until 25 minutes after the scheduled time and I arrived 15 minutes early, so my appointment started with a 40 minute wait. The equipment and practices used are extremely outdated. My previous eye doctor was a small town private practice in Kansas that has better equipment and quality of care. The puff test machine released more air than my previous 5 puff tests combined. Some of the preliminary tests were primitive and way too much dilation solution was used, it was almost 10 hours before my vision was back to normal. This practice uses dilation across the board for every patient, which isn't necessary nor required. The eye doctor spent maybe 5 minutes with me. We didn't discuss my eye health history or check my near vision. After I saw the OD, I had to sit in the waiting room for almost an hour and a half in order to pay and pick up prescriptions. Because I was getting a trial pair of contacts, I was required to meet with the glasses/contacts salesperson before I could leave. I had no intention of ordering my glasses and contacts from the office even before this experience, so I asked if I could just pick up my prescriptions and trials. They wouldn't let me, even though there were four or five other employees who could have helped me settle my bill. In the end, the consultant wasn't even the one to collect my trials. Additionally, I was asked to read and sign way too many things after I was dilated and couldn't read. In my dilated state, I had to catch that they charged me for someone's bill, which I was never asked to verify before they charged me, so I then had to wait longer for this to be corrected. My total 2.5+ hours at the eye doctor is entirely too long, especially when more than 2 hours was spent in the waiting room. Extremely disappointed.

This is the 2nd time I have been seen by Dr. Casey. She is pleasant and efficient. The technician that did my eye exam/measurements/dilation was also nice and worked quickly. The day that I was there I waited over 45 minutes. Everyone seemed to be moving the patients through as quickly as possible. I have no complaints about waiting. I never felt rushed, she made helpful suggestions and went out of her way to be sure my lenses could be made a certain way.

I love the face to face service. The doctors are great and they usually get you in on time. Rthday means if you have a 10:00 appointment, then you are being called back at 10:00. Unfortunately, the online patient portal sucks!

my appointment was at 8am. arrived at 7:50. was told by front desk would not be able to be seen on that day because of my insurance, I could not be seen until 2019. I asked the young lady to check again because of my diabetes, I am seen annually. I attempted to call myself but because of the time of morning was unable to reach them, and was not leaving your office until I had. However, one of your more seasoned assistance came in about 8:30 and informed me that yes I would be seen today and Dr Novak was able to examine my eyes and I was then fitted for a new pair of classes ( with the initial statement that I could not get new ones until 2019, until I informed him that I had diabetes and would be qualified if he looked further..Satisfied but the delay is a frequent occurrence whenever I have my annual exam.

Every single person I've ever dealt with at Katzen is kind, helpful, competent and professional. Your opticians found a pair of frames that fit my lenses so they could replace my broken ones. The eye dr. (Dr. Casey) put me at ease about a lot of my worries about cataract surgery. The receptionist was nice to me when I arrived late (long drive from Eastern Shore and morning rush hour traffic when I got to the city). One staff member even helped me hook my bracelet that I can't hook by myself. You guys are the best. I love every one of you.

I like the staff and the service, but on several occasions I have arrived early for my appointment and have to wait 30-90 minutes even before getting called in from the scheduled time. I understand how this might happen occasionally by the end of the day, but my most recent appointment was at 7:40AM and was more than 20 minutes late although I was one of the few people in the waiting room. This has happened enough that I am considering changing providers as the worst time was almost 1.5 hours late.

Had 230 appt. not seen until 345. Too long of a wait and no notification from staff regarding the wait time. MD was in/ out in 2 minutes and she Dr. Golub was abrupt. Telling me it was my “birthday” for the vision problems and all i needed was drug store readers. Most of the exam was done by staff. MD checked for IDand that’s it.

I have been going to Katzen Eye Group for many years and have always had very good service. Now that it is time to have cataract surgery I was nervous and still a little nervous. Dr. Katzen will be my surgeon and he was very nice explaining everything to me. The other doctor I talked to I didn't get his name he was also very nice. He told me he would be there to hold my hand. I will just be glad when the surgeries over, but I fee like I am in good hands.

My appointment was for 8:50. I was seen about 9:05 by a technician who took some measurements, etc. He put in the the drops and left the room at 9:20. The doctor was good, once I saw her. But once my eyes were dilated, I waited 45 minutes -- from 9:20 until 10:05 -- for the doctor to come into the room. This happened the last time I had an annual eye exam also. This is an unacceptable wait. I understand 15 minutes or even 20 may be necessary for the drops to walk 45 minutes is ridiculous.

The staff and Dr Patel at the Mercy location were extremely nice, helpful, and made me feel important with my visit and concerns. They were short staffed but despite this, each individual took their time to hear my concerns and spend time helping with my care. Also Dr Patel really listened to me and my concerns and had a very helpful conversation about how I was feeling. This was a very big contrast from what I experienced at the Lutherville/Towson office. I would pay the extra specialist co pay every time to be seen here for all my eye visits, the care and service is well worth it.

But, I did mention to her that I called the billing office over the course of two days 5-6 times to get an idea of what my insurance would cover for the YAG procedure. The only change I would suggest is the conversation within the office. I realize that you employee relationships are important to the work of an organization, but some of the content discussed by employees and heard by clients is unprofessional. Provide some guidance on appropriate conversation in the office, and the experience should be top-notch.

I have not been able to sign into my portal account because the portal account asks me to establish still another account. I want a copy of my prescription. i called the office this morning. The correct number and extension and was told by the automated system that I should call at that number and that extension "goodbye."

Worst experience ever at Katzen. Will not be returning to Downtown location or Dr. Casey. Poor job by some intern who was unsure of what she was doing and have me read after my pupils were dilated, unsupervised entire time. Only saw Dr. Casey for about 4 or 5 minutes. Pain in left eye mostly after visit. 24 hours later still in pain due to visit. Wish there was a lower rating to give. Hope there is no permanent damage. Horrible experience.

Parking at the Mercy location can take a little time but it's pretty easy once you're used to it since the garage is attached to the building. On a side note, I didn't know until my third visit that there's a validation to save a few dollars on the parking fee! Definitely get the validation. (Or valet park in the front if you're in a rush). The phone system can be a pain as you have to sit through a pretty long message just to make an appointment and I've had trouble getting through to the optical department a couple of times, which is why I took off one star, but everything else was great.

This was my second visit to Katzen. As the first I found everything very customer service positive with one exception. That exception was the technician, not Dawn, but the second person who examined me, was gruff and very unpleasant. I didn't feel welcome but more of a bother to her day. Also, of my two visits to Katzen, she was the only person who was not wearing a name badge; which I feel is indicative this person doesn't want anyone to know her name, apparently so she couldn't be called out by name.

I've used Katzen Medical Associates for several years annual visits only and it is dishearten when a prescription is generated without the patient requesting one. It is even more upsetting when you are billed $50 for a prescription for glasses when there's very little change noting the script is good for 2yrs but a new one is generated annually. I believe this is an example of taking advantage of a Patient and will be reported to the Better Business Bureau.

Some background: Exactly one year ago, I purchased glasses from another place. They had to be remade twice because they gave me a headache after 5 minutes of wear. After the 2nd remake, they still gave me a headache, however the insurance company would not pay for anymore. Therefore, I had to wait a year for new benefits. I decided to go to Katzen. The staff was friendly when I arrived. The tech, Tyler, was great. When I saw Dr. Baziz, I told him about my previous troubles with my glasses and informed him that I came to Katzen because the other optical place could not figure out what the issue was. Dr. Baziz, who was very calm and seemed like he cared, told me that it’s most likely an issue with the glasses themselves. He told me that I should go see the optical staff and have them look at the glasses. So I did. After signing in to the optical side, my name was called. The person automatically assumed that I wanted to pick out glasses, which wasn’t necessarily the case. But I looked anyway. In addition, I told her about the issue with my glasses. After picking out a pair of glasses, she had someone else look at my current glasses. After about 10 or 15 minutes, that person came out with my glasses and informed me that there was no prescription in the left lens. The gentleman concurred and said that he looked as well and saw no prescription. Dumbfounded, I chose not to get new glasses there. The main reason is that I was 100% that there was a prescription in the lens. Also, Tyler had previously looked at the glasses and saw that there was definitely a prescription in them. This led me to believe that the optical department might have some issues and I did not want to be bothered with that at all.

My experience in the office was ok however since then I have been trying to reach someone about questions I have, setting up a follow up appointment, and getting access to the portal and no one is helpful. Not having a direct office line and sending everyone to a call center makes for a terrible customer service experience.

Dr. Williams is amazing! I have worked with him for over a year when he fitted me with hard contact lenses. We have now switched to the larger sclaral lenses (sp?) and he has been very patient with me. He takes time during each exam to walk me through any issues I might be having and laying out solutions.

My biggest concern was with the extensive waiting time after the initial vision test. The wait time for dialation and ultimately seeing the doctor was over 1 1/2 hrs. Also the contact fitting fee seemed like an unnecessary charge. There clearly seemed like a charge for zero actual service. On a posotive note, the front staff was very curtious and helpful as well as Tim who checked my vision at the beginning.

I was quickly scheduled which was nice. ANd the speed never slowed down to even say hello! I was promptly moved through the machine and overal felt like a transaction. Everything about my exam was wonderful. Katie and Dr. Novey were a charm, I really liked them. I was really looking for a better set of spectacles than those offered at the drug store, no matter how minor my prescription but after being told several times (at least 3) by Mike (I believe) that Walmart would be cheaper than my $25. copay, I was exhausted and gave up, even after I had selected the nice frames that I wanted. Fortunately I was able to find and explain my dilemma to someone sensible at Katzan and I will be visiting the Rosedale location to see Kirstin (sp?) but I really wasn't hoping to have to make a second trip.

I was distressed to see the conditions under which my doctor and her staff had to work when I was in the office on Thursday, August 18, 2016. The rooms were very cold. Normally, I enjoy a cooler room, but to see Dr, Marcis's assistant in a long-sleeved jersey underneath her uniform when the temperature was already above 85 degrees at 9:00 in the morning was simply ridiculous. Dr, Marcic apologized over and over about the lack of working equipment, double-checking things to make sure they would work when needed, and in general not satisfied with the way the office suite was not properly set up for patients as well as doctors. I have enormous respect for Dr. Marcic---I have come to trust her judgment as well as her medical expertise, and when she is concerned about a lack of working equipment, I also become concerned. Katzen Eye Group has a great reputation, but I can assure you that it will not remain so if patients are getting short shrift because this particular office suite isn't the main suite on the ninth floor. I am not happy when my trusted physician is not happy. Should this continue, I will report this to my insurance company, who will then investigate and could possibly drop Katzen Eye Group as a preferred provider. Please make the necessary changes, listen to the staff about what their needs are---and make sure they get what they need so that your patients get what they need in turn. That's the bottom line, after all---isn't it?

I'm a grumpy old man who hates going to any health provider's office but I have to say my visit to the Katzen Mercy offices was absolutely my best experience ever with any healthcare provider. The staff were especially accommodating and sensitive to my scheduling issues and took time to answer questions I had not even thought to ask. I proposed to Kana, the surgical coordinator on the spot, and was only dissuaded because my wife and Kana were overcome with laughter. Kudos to Katzen Eye....

I have to say a bad review and the only reason I continue to come there is because it's on a bus line that were I live and it's easy to get too, otherwise, I would go somewhere else. The reason why I say this is, every time I have an appointment except for the one I just had on 7/8/2016. I'm always there 30 minutes ahead of time, and wait at least an hour or more before I'm seen. Then after the exam, when It's time to get my script, it's always a problem with the staff, they are always trying to charge me for a contact prescription, (not the exam), my insurance pays for the eye exam and contact exam. However, they will only allow for the purchase of eye glasses or contact lens. So, I always choose the eye glasses, and take my contact prescription and purchase them through other much more affordable providers. However, every, single time, I come there it is a long drawn out problem with staff who appears to not know this, we constantly go back and forth until review my history.

Dr. Novey and Lauren are pretty typical with providing good, quick service. It's so amazing how quickly he can fine tune an astigmatism.... Besides them Chantel, Mike, and Rochelle were the three to make my last visit amazing! They wen't above and beyond to meet my needs after me mentioning how confusing the process was for me the last time. Returning actually gave me a little anxiety, but I now know it was for no good reason. All I had to do was give them a chance. Though I know I already did so a million times in the office, I'd like to thank the entire team (both present and not) for doing whatever they could to make that experience possible for me.... I can't wait to pick up my new specs next week!

I really enjoyed the service I got at Katzen Eye Group. I was late because I was looking all over the place for the office ... thought I was going to my dental appointment. I was treated very well when I explained why I was late. I was warned it may be a wait and I was ok with that ... But the wait was not long at all and the treatment was exceptional. Thank you. I had a good experience with Katzen Eye this visit. My previous visits were better. I had to reschedule my previous appointment the week prior and so was not able to see Dr. Williams. The OD who examined me did a very good job and explained some of the reasons for an annual visit versus seeing the doctor every two years. i felt that Dr. Williams was more communicative with care of my vision and some possible signs and symptoms. I know the signs of retinal detachment and know to call the office if I experience any of these symptoms. I explained to Dr. Corrine Casey that I needed the MVA form completed for my license renewal and she complied. I felt that she was pushing progressive lenses and that I wasn't so interested in having them at this point in time. The contact lens exam I also thought was being pushed unnecessarily. I didn't want to wait for the optician to see me after my eye exam because I was already in the office for two hours. Overall a good experience but not great as it

Doctors their assistants and techs are wonderful. Front desk staff can be a little more pleasant. Smile and great the patient in a professional manner rather than with and attitude. That's at both check in and out counter staff. Dr Williams is very professional and has an amazing personality. Dr Williams was great as well as the nurse(?) who did the first part of the exam. However, the technician I saw before going into the exam room was terrible. He did not check my prescription properly, only checking correction to 20/20 when I am correctable to 20/12. After leaving and looking at my prescription in more detail, it does not match my old one (which is still correct based upon my clear vision) at all. It almost looks like the left and right eye prescriptions are swapped, but even then it's not quite right.

I was rescheduled the next day and seen within 5 minutes of coming in. They did not even allow me to sign in. However, I was in a lot of pain and was not in the mood to discuss this issue with the doctor. The doctor immediately apologized for the mix up and said the patient that responded to my name had a hearing problem. I said things happen. I just wanted to move on and find out what was wrong with my eyes. So my favorite part was knowing what was possibly wrong with my eyes.

Definitely how he explained it is very important to follow up each year because of diabetes. They way he went over my last visit exam and the current exam and explained the reasoning for the necessity for all the test done. It was overall the terrific visit and very pleasing. I would definitely recommend to family and friends. Katzen Mercy Center has the best doctors and staff around.

My favorite part of my visit was having Jamie do my Diagnostic test. She was kind, polite, informative, and professional. She explained everything to me in detail about the test. Also Josh...he too is very kind, polite and very professional at all times. Everytime I see him he goes out of his way to assist not only me, but ALL patients with any concerns they may have. I had an issue with my insurance not covering my medicine that the Doctor prescribed for me, and Josh took care of the matter for me. Within minutes he told me that the new precription was called into the pharmacy and when to pick it up. The pharmacy called me as well. Josh and Jamie are an asset to Katzen eye Group.

Appt at 2:00 arrived at office 1:45, was able to leave your office after my husbands 2:15 appt around 4:30. We are from out of state and have a 2hr drive. We hade earlier appts in Balto. and yours was the last. We have been doing this scheduling twice a year for 10 yrs. We left the house at 8:30AM and returned at 7PM. The worse experience yet, do to your office. Allowed about 1hr or 1:15 time for our appts. Dont think that was unreasonable. we

Seeing how staff really care about the patients. A gentleman waiting to see the dr. was having trouble with sensitivity and watering in his one eye and one of the staff offered him a pair of sunglases while he was waiting. I could see that that little bit of kindness made all the difference to that gentleman.

Kana McPherson is an absolute delight to work with. She is totally on the ball in ensuring that everything is lined up for surgery including eye drop medications and refills. She does a fantastic job in setting expectations and leaving little for me to worry about in coordinating the logistics for surgery. This is a huge relief to me.

One of the receptionists noticed that I had been waiting a long time and called into the back to make sure I would be next, which I really appreciated -- it was very thoughtful and proactive of her. Came here first last year. I was not impressed by a few things: Front end staff incorrectly identifoed type of insurance, then took an attitude when the error was pointed out. When I returned this year the information was still incorrect. And still got the we know better attitude. Have two needs regular eye check up and glaucoma monitoring. The inability to book same day for both because of :"insurance reasons" is simply not the case. Prior to moving here I routinely had both needs provided for ( by the same Dr. The lack of communication between the two doctors and duplication of effort wastes my time. The fact that at the end of the process I get a generic "looks fine" vs any specific information just makes it all the more pointless. . Your system seem to be run for the benefit of your staff vs that of the customer. Will be using a different provider going forward.

The staff was professional and Dr. Bizaz was knowledgeable. He made sure that I understood everything concerning my prescription and explained the potential causes for the slight changes in my vision- even advising me regarding selecting the appropriate frames to accomodate bifocal lenses. The young lady who assisted me with selecting frames was very helpful. Although I decided to take my prescription in search of frames elsewhere, she was still pleasant and gave me tips for picking out frames to accomodate my progressive lenses, as well. I would certainly refer this office to others.

Going to Mercy is not very convenient for me. I much prefer the Timonium office, but couldn't get an appointment time there with Dr. Williams that worked with my schedule. There also seemed to be something machine that the tech used to check my vision before I saw Dr. Williams since I coulnd't see any of the "choices" clearly. When I mentioned this to Dr. Williams, he agreed that there's a problem with that particular machine. Given that, I don't understand why you haven't replaced the machine yet!

Favorite part- that's hard. The Front Desk Team is always AWESOME- Kona, Nicole and some new ladies always check you in/out, explain things to you. Tara/Dr. Baziz are an AMAZING Team- They both have relationships with patients, listen to you and always have a solution which I appreciate greatly.

My favorite part of my recent visit was the warmth of the staff! This includes the receptionists, Rachel (the tech who set up my information for Dr. Sportelli), and Dr. Sportelli herself. I've had similarly wonderful experiences with other staff members being friendly. Please keep it up!

Although the doctors and thier techs have all been polite and informative yesterday (2/27) was painful. I had an appointment at 2:10 and did not leave the office till 4:10...way too long! Also, there seemed to be a lot of chatting by several staff members. I would think that with the back up they would busy themselves, rather than talk and laugh in the hall way...not very professional. Also, my husband was waiting for over 2 weeks for his new glasses - he called the office, was on hold forever and was finally told that there had been an error w the perscription so he would not receive his new glasses for another week or more. I would think, at the very least, an email could have been sent!

Dr. Williams is such a wonderful person and so pleasant to work with! The young man who helped us choose new glasses and frames was so knowledgeable and helpful. My husband and I both purchased regular glasses and sunglasses and we were difficult customers but he was so patient and explained everything to us in such great detail. We did not feel like he was rushing us or talking "down" to us as we have a few times in the past at your Towson location. He also kept working with our insurance until he found the best deal for us and we truely appreciated that.

Minus the 20 minute wait in the lobby (for which I was smart enough to use to select a frame since I was on my lunch hour), the customer service was excellent! The majority of the staff was asking if they could help me and everyone else who walked in the entire time I was there. They were also very friendly and helpful. The Dr. was knowledgeable and took time to explain things thoroughly. It was a very good experience. The other staff who did the eye exam walked me thru the exam step by step which is always good even if you already know what to expect.

We had an extremely long wait in the waiting room, over 45 mintues. The office wasn't full, our receptionist said she didn't realize we were there eventhough we had signed in. When we were finally able to see the doctor we were greeted by a cold and arrogant doctor (Dr. Marcic). In addition to her nasty disposition she wasn't able to articulate her findings. I will be going back to my referring physician for an explanation. With the number of doctors available in the area, it is unlikely that we will return. Katzen Eye Group was a disappointment in every way.

I prefer the environment of the Towoson office over the MMC office, significantly! The addition of patient education materials could be of value targeting and tailorng to the specific population segment unique to the MMC office when compared to the York Rd office. Would like the ability to send my appt date & time preferences in an electronic email request for an appt - please re-evaluate your appt making process/ features/ options from your website and enhance ot be more consumer friendly - otherwise wasted staff & consumer resources (time) spent on phone tag to actually get the apt on the books!

I usually don't look forward to going to the Dr.'s but when it is time to see Dr. Novey I am not afraid and I know that he will take good care of my eyes. Additionally, he had a student with him this time and he directed everything so that the student was not intrusive.

I was having strange things happen with my right eye. The initial doc who did the exam picked up the torn retina and immediately called in Dr.Joe Harlan who preformed the laser treatment. He was extremely thorough in explaining the procedure as well as medicating the eye so I would be comfortable. From start to finish the care was exceptional!

I was very pleased with the speed of this appointment. I was in and out in about 40 minutes including check in.

-Waited far too long in waiting room and to see doctor. -Generally cold (as in unfriendly) staff. I had the sense that they are unhappy working there. -Unreasonably raucous and disturbing behavior by the staff at the opticians' tables while I was in the waiting room. -I pointed out to the receptionist that she had misspelled my last name on a sheet that I checked for accuracy. She told me to "just cross it out and spell it correctly. I'll change it later" Which I did. It's still incorrectly spelled on my prescription print-out. -I doubt that the prescription is correct. -I was ripped off.

It appears like this practice tries to save money by employing cheap front desk staff. Unfortunately it negatively affects patient experience. Even making an appointment requires multiple phone calls because of incompetent front desk staff.

Dr Golub is fantastic. She is concerned about your health and explains things clearly. She is also personable, making a visit less anxiety producing.

Overall good experience. Felt a little rushed after check up with respect to new glasses and options for selection, but the doctor was very thorough and provided a lot of information and answered all my questions.

The office is professional, and everyone is generally nice. Dr. Williams is great to deal with - very considerate, easy to talk to, and has helped me find a contact lens that is better for my eyes and allows me to see better than I have in years!

The key to the ladies bathroom was missing twice when I wanted to use it. I had to go to the Lobby bathrooms to relieve myself. It was an inconvenience and no one seemed to care, because I asked the receptionist and the doctor.

As always, a very thorough exam and explanations that were easy to understand. I appreciate the care and attention that Katzen provides. During this visit, I also used they eyewear service and was more than pleased with the service.
