Dr’s and staff are polite, courteous, and very professional. Not to use an old cliché, but they do “treat you like family”. They go above and beyond to meet your needs. In fact, on Nextdoor Talega someone was seeking a good optometrist and I referred Griffin Optometry for reasons stated earlier. Others agreed posting outstanding reviews. The people have spoken!

This is literally the best staff I have ever had at a medical facility. My mom asks why I drive over an hour for my appointment, it’s that good. While the Optometrists here are always a pleasure, the business side is getting unbearable. This time, it was informing us AFTER the appointment that they were no longer VSP approved. So now we have to pay more than expected for the appointment, and then now go find another VSP location to make the glasses/contacts needed. All other doctors we have been to check your insurance when the appointment is made....not after. This is on the heels of attempting to get safety glasses for work made here a few years ago - the glasses that came in were useless, nothing like my normal prescription. Couldn't see at all. The office staff helping me continued to insist that the prescription was correct. It took a month to send back and make another pair of lenses - and I still couldn't see. Finally, they admitted the prescription must be wrong, and I'd need another appointment. Maybe it is a good thing they no longer accept VSP. We need to find someplace else.

I'm not pleased. I clearly and carefully told Dr. Griffin that my problem had to do with vision blurring after not more than1/2-hour or so of reading and that I needed my 'bifocal line' or whatever it's called moved up so that I didn't need to tilt my head back and look down my nose to read my computer screen. $750 later I have a new pair of frames I'm not sure I even needed. My reading experience in entirely unchanged. I still cannot read for more than a few minutes, I still cannot see the computer screen without leaning forward and tilting my head back to get to the bifocal part of my glasses in play. I have a new type of sunglass clip-on that was never even discussed with me and that I absolutely hate. It is almost impossible to get the clip-ons on and off, and it is totally impossible without removing my glasses and getting fingerprints all over both.

Fantastic experience! It had been over 2 years since I had an eye exam. I desperately needed new glasses and contacts. From the moment I entered the office everyone was very friendly and accommodating. I barely waited at all and the initial tech made the whole experience fun. The doctor answered all my questions and made sure I would have enough contact lenses until my new ones arrived (4 days to receive). The front office staff double checked the best way to use my VSP benefits and then even found a rebate that would apply for my contact lenses. I would highly recommend this office. They were efficient, friendly, knowledgeable and I felt I was in good hands throughout the entire appointment.

Human Interest story....this Dr truly is a. DOCTOR Did not have appointment but really needed help. Dr Griffin answered the phone when I rang him up. He listened and told me he would get me eye drops right away and what to do. Told him Walmart pharmacy and about to hang up and he says ...do you have anyone to pick prescription for you...guess I said not really and was about to hang up and he said I can pick it up for you if you don’t have anyone and take to your house. I wanted to yelL out REALLY?.........thought I must not have heard that one right. Not a doctor in 82 years would ever think of offering and he just did. That was a total. WOW. To me. One I cannot ever forget. When telling many people later they all said the same thing. REALLY A friend called me 2 minutes later and went to pick up prescription but clearly he would have done it.......Amazing Grace. Amen. Nancy Crowley

Everyone in Dr. Griffin's office is wonderful. No long waits, comprehensive eye exams, and efficient service. They always get my new glasses in quickly and are happy to fix any issues I have with my glasses in between exams. When my husband had an emergency condition they told him to come in immediately and then got him in to see an ophthalmologist on an emergency basis the next morning. I think they might be a little expensive - certainly more than LensCrafters or Costco - but you get what you pay for and they are super convenient!!

I have never been a fan of going to the dr and I’m now 38 years old. Going to the eye dr for the first time was terrifying especially why I was going. My baby girl cut my my eye with her fingernail and everything was blurry out of my left eye. From the minute I walked in everyone took care of me. More then normal. It was the extra steps of care and positive attitudes that made me forget why I was even there in the first place. Jim has the biggest heart and dr griffin was alone if the friendliest dr s I have ever met.

Let me start off by saying my experience with Dr. Patrick Griffin was excellent. His Opthalmic Technician is outstanding. He is so warm & sincere & extends such exceptional customer service. The front office girls could be a little more enthusiatic. The reason I only gave a 9 was due to the response I received from the front desk when I politely called to inform that I was running 5 minute late. She wasn't friendly, warm or inviting, she just said if I was 15 minutes late they would reschedule me. I did not have to call it was out of courtesy. I arrived within 6-8 minutes of my appointment. Her tone & response just left me with a bitter, & sour feeling. I really wanted to just cancel, my appointment, but, having taken time off from work, I did not.

Dr. Patrick and his staff are fashionable but down to earth; the office is modern and fresh, and screenings are done with the state of the art technology. This makes exams more comfortable than ever. I always go the office on Del Mar but needed an urgent visit after a 4 day weekend. I was given an appt in Talega as there would be no Dr on Del Mar that day. Griffin Optometric is the only practice I will go to for my optometry needs. All of the staff are nice, efficient and you are treated well from the moment you walk in until you leave. The doctors are professional, kind and extremely good at what they do. I wear contacts and glasses as well as occasionally have eye issues due to a hereditary condition.
