Jamie hunted down a pair of green glasses for me and made my Year! Dr. Powers is knowledgeable, kind, and has taken excellent care of me and my Family for decades. Emails for appointment reminders were timely. Excellent service and outcomes...began with Griffin Optometry in 1990's One negative experience. When I called to make an appointment, the person answering the phone reacted as if she were dealing with multiple calls, asked many facts, Medicare type questions..I had never been quizzed or welcomed in this manner at Griffen Optometric...I had difficulty understanding her and decided not to continue. I called the San Clemente office and they said I had called the correct Laguna Niguel office number. So I called again and scheduled my appointment. I hope this situation is corrected. Had I never been a Griffin patient, I never would have located a different doctor.

I have been a patient since 2003. I don’t need prescription glasses but my children do so usually I’m at your office with my children! When I have any eye problems I come immediately to your office in Talega where I live. I absolutely adore everyone!! Yesterday, I called the Talega office and told them my eyes were all red, swollen and stinging! She immediately called the Laguna Niguel office and made me an appointment right away and I was seen within one hour of calling!!! I saw Powers and he was absolutely wonderful and he said that I had a eye infection and prescribed me specific eye drops that are already helping!! Everyone in so kind and caring!!!!

I would recommend Dr. Callister from Griffin Optometric to any one . I took my daughter there as a new patient and we was pleased with the costumer service we received right from the very first phone call to schedule our appointment and all trough the our appointment experience . Dr .Bradley Callister didn’t rush trough the appointment, he was very detailed with her exam and medical history questionary . He explained his diagnosis and our options very well .

M husband & 6 yr old son both had vision appts yesterday at the Laguna Niguel office. The entire office staff was AWESOME!! From the lady who took our temps at the door, to the medical assistant who did some initial vision screens...just everybody! But two people stand out...Dr. Brad was amazing with my 6 year old!! He was super friendly, down-to-earth, and found a way to explain directions down to my son’s level. He was top-notch! And Tom was also AMAZING. He took time to make sure we were comfortable in the waiting room and even offered us hot chocolate! He was super knowledgeable about our lens and frame options and worked with us to get the best price for my husband’s glasses! Thank you for being so sweet to us!

My husband and I both had appointments scheduled with Dr. Callister. We were both very happy with our interaction with the doctor as well as the thoroughness of the exam. Both of our interactions with the receptionist were a bit awkward. However, when I asked if there would be a delay (it had been 10 min and another patient exited stating she had been waiting for 40 min), she quickly addressed the situation. When purchasing glasses, we clearly stated we were choosing the identical glasses my husband had purchased from you and that he was wearing. I felt like our statements were initially ignored and the gentleman tried to find other glasses for my husband. After several minutes, we reiterated that we wanted to purchasethe glasses my husband had previously purchased and the gentleman began to research the availability.

I can no longer recommend you to people. The price quote, with my insurance, was substantially higher than in the past. I tool my prescription to Costco and got a frame I like better with the same blue block and non glare glass lenses for less than half of your quote. I like Dr Griffin very much but can’t justify the increase in cost.

I have tried many Optometrists over the years, and Griffin in the best. They have a very nice office with a wide variety of frames and choices of lens types. The office staff and medical assistants are very knowledgeable, helpful, and accommodating. Dr. Powers Griffin provides a very thorough exam with the latest equipment, and takes time with each patient to ensure that they understand the results of the exam and any conditions affecting their vision, and other concerns that they may have. I would give rate them an 11, but the scale only goes to 10.

My young son and I were first time patients and I really liked this Optometry office. John first helped us check in and get all our first patient forms completed. He was so great with my son because my son was a bit nervous. Dr Brad was great and helped my son understand what his vision results meant and why he needed glasses. He was so patient and answered his questions thoroughly. The front desk was also great. She helped us understand what our visions benefits covered and showed us the frames that were within our price range. I highly recommend this office. They are great!

We have gone to Dr Griffen for many years. Our family loves Dr Powers Griffin and the whole office staff. The environment is very welcoming, The office staff is friendly and very helpful. Dr. Griffin and his team have helped me for many years to have healthy eyes and great vision. Initially all I needed was contact lenses, which slowly increased in strength. Then after a few years Dr. Griffin augmented the contacts with computer glasses and driving glasses, both of which I used occasionally as needed during that time of my life. More recently, as is normal, I began to develop cataracts which could not be helped very much by contacts and glasses, and which made daily activities more and more difficult. Dr. Griffin gave me wise counsel and helped me decide on the right time and the right surgeon for my cataract surgery. Now I am free of contacts and glasses, and I will continue to have regular eye exams with Dr. Griffin to protect the health of my eyes. I could not be more pleased with the knowledgeable and kind care I have received from Dr. Griffin and his team.

I've been seeing Dr Powers Griffin since the late 1990s. He was recommended to me by a friend that knew Dr Griffin in college and also sees him as a patient. The Dr has taken excellent care of my eyes all these years. I learned recently that I needed cataract surgery on both eyes. Dr Griffin suggested that I go to Harvard Eye and I saw Dr Edward Kim. Another great recommendation! Surgery was successful and my vision has never been better! I can't say enough about Dr Griffin and his entire staff. Always treated well at Griffin Optometric … have been for 20+ years, mostly with Dr. Powers, and mostly in San Clemente, which is where we live. Have been to all three, and the reception and office staff are always friendly and helpful - as are the doctors and the techs who fit and adjust glasses. Most medical appointments are not pleasant - this one always is! And very professional - when I came in with a retina tear, they quickly sent me to a specialist and I received excellent care.

Dr Griffin is very knowledgeable and knows so much more than selecting the correct pair of glasses. I went to Griffin Optometric when I had a detached retina, and was diagnosed and given the name of a specialist that performed the surgery. I also have an astigmatism and Dr Griffin prescribed glasses that corrected my left eye and makes everything easier to read. I depend on him for my annual checkups.

The only reason why I am not giving a 10 is because over the phone I asked how much the exam would be since they are out of network with my insurance and I would need to pay myself. I was told it would cost $168. When I checked out, I ended up being charged $274. When I questioned, they said there were 2 additional charges. I was not notified that anything I was doing was going to cost more than the $168 I was originally told. I dislike surprises

I had called in the morning asking if it would be possible to see the doctor that same day due to the fact that I had awakened with enormous pain in my left eye. Dr. Griffin gave up most of his lunchtime in order to help me. He identified the problem, and he very carefully explained the process for healing my eye. I wish that all doctors could be as experienced, kind, and caring as Dr. Griffin.

Dr Miller was fantastic. I came in with severe pain in my left eye, almost unable to see. She was panicked as my cornea was very distorted and it was a Friday. She called a corneal surgeon that she has trust in and we were able to determine that it was a reaction to Milkweed, which I have been growing and cutting to grow Monarch Butterflys. I am fine now, but it was very scary. It will not stop me from helping the Monarch population, but I will certainly be very careful in how I handle them.

I've been to Griffin Optometric on three occasions so far, and find that Dr. Griffin and his team are very committed to getting me comfortable in my new eyeglasses, and also diligent in looking after my eye health. I've always had a rather tricky prescription (lots of prism due to strabismus, astigmatism, and personal preference for progressive lenses just to make it all a little tougher to get right) and sometimes even with a small change it's hard to get a new Rx that I like. Dr. Powers Griffin spent a lot of time working on my first new Rx, but I wasn't quite comfortable with it, even after several days of trying to get used to it. Dr. Beverly Miller, his associate, then saw me and she really spent a lot of time with me to make a few fine-tune adjustments to my Rx. She had the lab make new lenses at no cost, and this time, perfect. The in-office optician I saw, Dawn, was also very helpful in helping me choose frames that look great and make the "coke bottle" effect of my prism unnoticeable. Dawn also told me about the VSP vision plan, which helped save me some money. Fast forward to my most recent visit ... I had a scare with an arc of light appearing in my peripheral vision; Google it and you'll see why I was a little freaked. I called Griffin Optometry and they offered me a time to come in that day or early next morning. Dr. Griffin was very patient and thorough, and carefully explained what was going on--just a minor aging issue, and not the more serious retina issue that this symptom can sometimes indicate. The whole team has a professional, friendly and unhurried vibe that I appreciate. Definitely would recommend.

There is no way that I would ever go to any optometric office other than Griffin, after having had the most comprehensive eye exam, the most professional, efficient, and friendly treatment in the 50 plus years that I have worn glasses. The vast stock of upscale glasses from which to chose doesn't hurt, either. I cannot recommend this office highly enough. If you want to look great and know that your eyes have been thoroughly examined, there is no where better in OC.

I was very nervous when I arrived. In the past at other optometrists offices I have always felt the question of is A better than B was impossible. I could never tell and always left wondering if I'd actually be able to see with the glasses I was ordering. When I arrived the Lady's at the front desk are engaging ad welcoming.
