I highly recommend for botox and fillers. Nice office staff and Dr's. Dr's take time to answer any of your questions. Discounts on botox often. In and out fairly quickly (unless you talk their ear off :) )

Dr. Meier was, as always, extremely professional, knowledgeable and caring. It is both refreshing and a relief to finally find an ophthalmologist who has an understanding of my particular autoimmune condition and the damaging effect it can have on my eyes and works proactively with me to avoid flare ups and their horrible effects. Very happy with Dr. Meier -he is personable and relates well to me as his patient. He also explains the issues he has found with my eyes and overall eye health; how to deal with them; and how they will or won't affect me in the future. Very informative. I left the office after my first visit so much less concerned then when I arrived, armed with what sounded like a scary diagnosis from another well-known local opthmalogist. Second visit was routine, which was very calming. I highly recommend.

Always greeted warmly at your reception desk. All personnel encountered are friendly and exude competence as they perform their tasks. This was my first experience with DR. Meier. He was gracious,answered all my questions without appearing rushed. He explained in detail his treatment plan for me. I would certainly refer this practice to anyone.

I had a positive experience during my visit. The office associate who checked me in, greeted me, was prompt and very pleasant. The associate who preped me for my eye exam, believe her name is April, was very pleasant and explained the process well. Although I am a bit disappointed that I am no longer able to see Dr. Rampona who I feel is the best in the business, Dr. Meier was thorough and I look forward to seeing him in the future.

Everyone has been so kind, patient and gentle. I used to be terrified of the eye doctor due to having doctors with horrible bedside manner and my eye issues. Dr. Rampona and his staff are very kind, gentle and amazing with patient teaching. I have so much hope and excitement concerning my surgery and vision. I had been suffering deteroiorating vision in my left eye for more than a year. My previous doctor tried but failed to diagnose the problem. My first visit to VBEC, Dr.R suspected I might have a cataract, but wanted Dr. Rampona to confirm. I came back a week later and sure enough Dr. Rampona discovered 2 cataracts. Not exactly good news, but at least I have a diagnosis and the high probability of a cure.

I went to First Colonial Eye Center with some concerns about my severe dry eye issues. Dr Avi Meier and his assistant both listened to my concerns patiently with understanding and examined my eyes carefully. We developed a plan with various steps that we can try to help me find some comfort. I am very impressed with Dr. Meier and his wealth of knowledge and feel very hopeful that he will help me with my eye issues.

Dr. Rampona and his team are the best! I had the Supralase procedure done in June 2013, and it was the best thing I have ever done for myself!! The procedure was very quick, as was the healing time. I could see immediately after it was done, and within 2 weeks everything was just about perfect. It has been almost a year now and my vision is 20/15! Dr. Rampona does a great job following up with you afterwards and making sure everything goes well. I have also gone to First Colonial Eye Center since I moved to the Virginia Beach area in 2009, and have never had any issues. Great place, great doctors, and great staff!

The front desk staff is always amazing and efficient, friendly and smiling. Lisa is always peppy and very good at her job in helping to pick out a pair of glasses that are flattering. My children see Dr. Julie and I have seen Dr. Rampona in the past. Do I want to see Dr. Meier again after being spoken to in such a manner, NO WAY. That tone of voice and air of being pretentious will turn people away and I have been a patient for many years at this practice. It would be a shame for him to ruin the reputation of this practice.

I had my Supralase procedure done on Thursday, June 6. It was very quick and didn't hurt at all. I was informed of what would happen every step of the way and was given plenty of instruction beforehand for the aftercare. It is Monday now and I am feeling great! I am even back to driving today. The best thing to do through the weekend is to sleep, sleep, sleep! They don't tell you that for nothing! I have been coming to First Colonial Eye Center since approx. 2009 for my yearly checkups. My prescription kept getting worse every year (ending up at a -7 before my surgery). The doctors and staff there are all very nice and helpful. I would recommend (and have recommended) them to anyone! Very satisfied patient here! :)

I tell everyone to go to Dr. Rampona's friendly and caring staff and office. From the minute that you enter to the minute that you leave you are surrounded by smiling faces of people who are happy to be at work and happy to be working with you as a patient. They are all so nice and understanding and very good at explaining what they are doing with both children and adults. Our family loves everybody in this practice!

I was a walk-in and they were able to see me right then - that afternoon. The staff was very friendly and helpful. All the paperwork was taken care of quickly and in about 20 minutes my exam began. The technician was very professional and the doctor was excellent. One of the best exams and explanations of my current eye health that I have had. Was very pleased and in about an hour was on my way with everything I needed. I even had an appointment for my next visit in a year. I'll definitiely be back.

The staff is professional and does what is necessary without trying to push additional tests, procedures, or products that I have encountered at other eye centers. As a result, Dr. Rampona has been my Opthamologist for a number of years and hopefully will be for years to come.

This is a good clinic. I feel the Dr. and staff are knowledgeable and make you feel welcome... again I feel that if at the end of the visit patients get a simple written report of the Dr. findings (like the one my mechanic gives us when we take our cars to be repaired) this will eliminate all the confusion that forms in our old brain as we drive away from the office.

Due to a concussion I needed to have my eye pressure checked. I received an appointment right away when I called and explained the situation. I was very well taken care of by the staff and an extensive eye check up was done in both eyes. The staff went way beyond my request for an eye pressure check. They made sure that nothing was missed and I did not have to worry about my eyes.

Dr Rabochek (I know I've butchered the spelling) was extremely accomodating to the various issues with my eyesight and the different arrangements I can have using contacts, glasses or nothing. We came up with a solution to aide in my night driving. I was very pleased with my and my son's appointment with her. I recommend offering her a full time position with the practice. All of the staff have always been very nice and helpful.

I was glad to finally hear that I could have some adjustment to my eye tear ducts if my drops did not help to clear my vision. I have ask several other colleagus of Dr.Ramponas to plug the upper ducts put they were relutant. I feel that it would be highly beneficial for my eyes to have the ducts plugged and I have heard from several other friends that had eye laser surgery comment that they had really great vision after having both upper and lower ducts plugged up. I have had blurry vision in my right the entire time that I tried numerous drops.

Never in my life had I ever had 20/20 vision..... until I met Dr. Rampona. Corrective eye surgery at age one(1) for weak eye muscles, and "coke bottles" for glasses after that. At age 44, I was a "Plus 7" in eye doctor terminology. Dr. Rampona corrected me to 20/15 in one eye and 20/20 in the other. Although very modest and humble, Dr. Douglas Rampona truly is MY hero! And I will tell ANYBODY that!!!

Everyone was very nice to myself and my 6 year old son. I have never been to an optometrist before and was not aware of the procedure. I was not given a prescription for eye glasses, nor was I informed that I could purchase glasses from some place else. After the exam I was asked to pick out frames and was given prices that in my opinion were very high with no other options. I left the clinic very frustrated and called my insurance company, they informed me that I should have received a prescription. When I returned to the clinic to get my prescription, I asked why I wasn't given one, or told that I could get glasses somewhere else the reply I was given was "well we didn't tell you becuause we want you to buy glasses from us." I still had my insurance company on the phone when this was said to me, he heard her and was shocked. I did get my prescription and ordered glasses for a quarter of the price with all the same features and warranties.

The only downside to this adventure is my time to visit the staff is getting further and further apart as I heal. My husband and I drive from Newport News to VA Beach to see Dr. Rampona and his staff becuase of the doctor's unparalleled expertise and the staff's excellent care. I had Supralase 6 years ago to correct severe myopia and astigmatism, and my vision has been perfect ever since! This method was preferable to me because there was no flap to be cut, and it did not compromise the health and integrity of my cornea. My brother and my friends have had the flap surgery with mixed results, so I did my research before selecting a doctor. Dr. Rampona is the best around! I highly recommend First Colonial.

Postive experience was the young African American lady at the reception desk. Very friendly, knowledgeable. She actually helped me and my twice dilated eyes out of the office appropriately. She was the only one who offered me sunglasses. I was very disappointed and contemplated demanding a second eye exam from Dr. Rampona but concerned that my insurance won't cover it. We have always had good care with Dr. Rampona. Glasses are a bit too pricey, but his care is great. WHAT HAPPENED this time?

I was exceedingly pleased with my visit and the results of the procedure. The initial recovery period (<48 HOURS)involved minimal pain and lots and lots of sleep. The follow-up exams were brief, professional, informative and productive. I especially liked the fact that each person on the staff knew me by name from the very first visit. It takes people who really care to commit all patient names to memory so they can feel welcome and loved every time they come in.

Five years AFTER my eye surgery, I brought my Mom in to personally meet Dr. Rampona. He made her cry! But, ONLY because she was so overwhelmingly happy, because Dr. Rampona was able to give me PERFECT VISION in both eyes! My eyes were corrected to 20/15 in my left and 20/20 in my right. I had looked into eye surygery before but did not like the idea of lasik since its cuts, when I learned about supralase I knew I had to try it. Dr Rampona and his staff were all beyond my expetations and the procedure was simply, quick and pretty painless. The only part that's are to deal with is the fact your vision is blurry for a few days which is more inconviencing, but results are wonderful. I would say my vision is better than when I had to wear contacts !!!

Dr. Rampona is a true professional eye doctor. Great personality and bedside manner. His team is also excellent. He successfully performed cataract surgery on both eyes and superlase surgery on my right eye. I told him my original goal was to finally be glasses free and he made sure that he met my expectations. The entire process was was easy from making appointments, to doing eye drops, answering questions, and mking sure that I was pleased and happy with the outcome. He also performed superlase on my daughter's eyes and she was so pleased she made sure that I went to him for my surgery as she knew I was a chicken when it came to fooling with my eyes. I highly recommend First Colonial Eye Center and Dr. Rampona.

I have been coming to this office for years and I'm growing very dissatisfied. Every appt I have had the last few years for either myself or my children I have had to wait. I have started scheduling my appts for immediately after lunch in hopes that would help. My appt was at 1pm and I wasn't taken into a room until 1:25. The technician was finished with me by 1:35 and I waited until 1:55 before I finally walked out of the room to find out if the Dr. was coming. Last year I had the Retina Image done and this year is was lost. I had the office retake the image at no charge. I often feel like the doctor's are in a hurry and don't have much time for questions or explaining things and I have noticed there is a VERY high turnover rate. I have not seen the same doctor two years in a row for at least 5 years now. I am seriously considering changing doctors at this point.

About a year and a half ago, Dr R. said he saw a light cataract forming and said it will be a long time and in the distant future and it was nothing to be concerned about. However, during the last exam, he basically talked to his assistant re cataracts but said nothing to me and then he was gone. Usually, Dr. R. tells me the condition of my eyes regarding dryness, but on this appt, my last one with him, he said nothing. Prior to this last appt with Dr. Rampono, I would give everything about Dr. R and your office a 5 star rating. Then the eye test I had 2 days ago has left me uninformed and I feel uneasy about this. Everyone I know who has cataract surgery sees worse than they did before the surgery. And since going to Dr. Neatrour up until 2001 and after 3 lasik surgeries...which i found out later he should not have done because i was 3000plus over 20. Dr. R said he ruined my eyes and i agree. During the eye test a few days ago, another girl came in and told the girl who was doing the test not to leave the laser light so long on my eyes. I got the feeling she was being trained and it made me wonder if that light damaged my eyes. Since that test, my eyes are about 60% more light sensitive and extremely uncomfortable. I have taken exra lutein, bilberry, zeaanathin, asataxthin, fish oil, & cod liver oil and am drinking a lot more water and my eyes still hurt and lights are painfully bright.

On two occasions I have not been satisfied with my experiences. The person who helped me pick out frames the first time I used you was wonderful despite having been up all night with asthma attack. The two others seem put off by their duties.

Both times I've been there has been a really long wait time. Waiting in the waiting room, waiting for the doctor. When I went to fill my contacts perscription last time the Sams Club person filling my perscription had to call First Colonial Eye Center because the perscription was impossible to fill (wrong numbers). Friendly staff. Not sure if I will continue seeking care from this office.

First Colonial Eye Center is really up to date in the latest eyecare. All the Dr's and personnel there are effecient and courteous. My husband had cataracts removed, and new lenses put in. The following day his vision was near perfect. If you need to, they will help you set up a payment plan. I would strongly reccomend them to anyone, regardless of age.
