My wife and I are "very" surprised at the manner in which your team chose to inform us that our Insurance was no longer valid at your clinic. A spam email (one way communication) is proven to be the least affective process to ensure messages and notices are received. Additionally, I'm surprised that no one thought to share this information during my November visit, and again when I made the emergency January 2024 visit, nor even when I checked out.

I was extremely pleased with my last appointment. The staff was able to accommodate my request for an emergency appointment regarding x-rays for a possible tooth infection that had led to an earache and sore throat. Upon arrival the staff evaluated my situation and determined that my condition was not due to an infected tooth but rather an inner ear infection and recommended that I not get x-rays but rather follow through with antibiotics and ear drops to treat the condition. This resulted in no charge for my visit. Thanks again to truly professional people for their quick actions and kindness.

I have the best dentist and dental assistant there is. Dr Sosebee has the gentle touch, she explains everything so I know exactly what has happened, what is happening, and what to expect. Shawna is just as great in what she does. She talks me through the procedure, and treats me with kid gloves. They make a great team and I actually look forward to going to my dental appointments. If they quit the business, I’m having my teeth pulled!

I am a regular patient at this practice. I had a toothache and called to see if they could see me. They didn't have any appointments that day. I waited until the next day and called in early to see if they could see me. They had a spot at 9:00 am so I took it. I was very grateful that they were able to see me but I did experience a couple of problems. First, they put me in the "extra room" they had which was very small, but that was fine. The issue is that it was crawling with bugs in and out of the ceiling and some were flying around the room. I was a little uncomfortable - but still happy they were able to see me. Second, the Dr. gave me a referral to an endodontist and he was not in my insurance coverage, so I ended up having to find my own and hope he is good. It would have been nice if they had one of the employees at the front look it up to make sure this doctor was covered under my plan so I wouldn't be balance-billed later, etc. I know it is my responsibility to make sure the doctors are in my plan (which is why I did my homework and made a change as I described above) but it would have been nice if they would have checked so I wouldn't have had extra work and they could have referred me correctly the first time.

When I left I noticed a sharp piece of something in one of my teeth. The next day the sharpness I was feeling fell out. What feel out was a filing that had been put in by your office. I will now have to come back in and have the filling taken care of. I can only assume the filling was knocked out by accident.

Appreciate allowing me to come Monday regarding a very odd but painful jaw issue on the weekend. Only took a few minutes to determine teeth and root area was fine, but potential issue is probably problem on lower jaw below tooth checked out. Per Dr. Settle, analysis was excellent but he made it clear maybe that I will have to go to an oral surgeon if this does not self-correct. Prescription mouthwash is successful aiding with pain removal at night and at least half of the day time. Only small problem is loss of taste ability now at middle of day. Expect it to go away, and after another week will contact the office to let Dr. Settle know where this is. Wonderful folks, great hearts, sincere, and top of the line dental workers!

I hadn't been to the dentist in a little over 4 years because I had been taking care of my son who had spinal surgery. I put my needs last and was having tremendous pain in my jaw. I thought the worst. Maybe being 50 years old, it was time to just have them pulled and get dentures. My mom suggested I try her dentist, Dr. David Settel, so with her basically holding my hand, I went afraid, without hope and very reluctant. The staff were very kind to me and I felt more than welcome to be there. His assistant took a panoramic x-ray and then we waited for the doctor to come in for the exam. Dr. Settel eased me back in the chair and I started to panic and cry. He was very kind and said, "All I want is to just have a look" He was thorough, professional, there was no pain, very gentle and he was especially kind. He told me that my teeth were strong, no cavities, not even tarter build-up in 4 years. Then he went on to explain that I was clenching my teeth and that's what was causing me so much pain. He then took the time to explain to me exactly how it happens and what it does to the muscles in the jaw. He said that he could make a splint and it would make the pain go away. It's rare that a doctor will take time to sit and talk with you. He listened to me about my son and he commented on what a good mother I was for helping him. I live an hour and 15 minutes away but it will be worth every mile I travel to see him again. I also plan on bringing my son to see him next. It is rare that you find a doctor that listens, is kind, a christian and is very good at his profession.

You are the greatest. Professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. I would recommend you to friends and family. Thank you, you found my problem and prescribed the right treatment. For month I saw EENT Specialist and family doctors for a pain on my face and they did not find anything wrong with my sinus. When the pain moved to my teeth, I came to your office, I thought I had a bad tooth. But it took a great dentist to figure out that the problem was indeed the sinus, and she treat it properly. I am very grateful.

Very professional staff- I mean ALL staff ( rare), gentle yet thorough, kind Doctors. I can only say give them a try. You will love them. The only thing that’s sad the wait for an appointment, but then again they are busy for a reason.

I am not pleased with the thin plastic mouth guard. I thought from the description it would have a cushioning effect but it is just a thin layer of soft material that does not afford any cushioning to speak of if I am grinding or clenching at night. And $150! I already had a similar item from a tooth cleaning kit I got from you, could have used that. So I am not satisfied and teeth on lower left are still sensitive. Sorry but you asked, which I appreciate.

I am "one of those" people who hate dentist! I haven't been in over 9 years. A fellow colleague in Ellijay referred me to this practice after having a small issue. I can honestly say they are very accommodating, extremely patient, and very knowledgeable about dental care. Like I said, coming from someone who doesn't "go to the doctor" they are amazing! I am so relieved I have someone I can go to for dental care that are gental and I trust! I refer everyone there now!

It is always a great experience to go to your offices. The receptionist makes me feel welcome and greets me by name even though its been a long time since the previous visit. The assistants, Nikki and Tiffany, were so helpful and give a feeling of caring and competence. The entire visit, orchestrated by Dr. Settle, is as painless as I can imagine a dental office appointment can be. This was a bait and switch. I called for an exam and cleaning. I got a $230 exam and a consult for a $1200 cleaning. Refused to do ANY cleaning even though that was what the appointment was for. I will drive back to Johns Creek, 1:30 away, to go back to my old dentist before I ever go back here.

From the time I walked through the door until the time I left, I was treated with the utmost respect. Smooth and easy check in and registration process. Very helpful front desk secretary. I cannot say enough great things about Doc Settel. That dude is awesome! He made sure I was completely numb and at ease before starting the procedure. He talked to me during the extraction, letting me know what he was doing. Very comforting. Dr. Settel is the kind of guy you could hang out with outside the practice, down to earth and unpretentious.

I am so pleased that I have never had to pay out of pocket expenses. Obviously Dr. Setels does not overcharge for cleanings. This was not the case for the past 25 years for me. I also like that he is not critical of dental hygiene and does not "sell" unnecessary procedures. The staff is professional.

Had to have 3 numbing shots so I wouldn't feel a thing. The first 2 shots made me feel the drilling that I felt hit my nerve. Afterwards the numbing wore off a few hours later but my tooth was hurting. The tooth never hurt before the filling and now I can't eat on that side because I feel a direct pain to my nerve. It is very uncomfortable when touched and I hope you will be able to help resolve this problem.

Dr. Settle is the best dentist! He is so kind and so thoughtful to his patients. We are blessed to have him in our community. All of the staff is very informative and pleasant to be around. Heather is so wonderful to deal with while having your teeth cleaned. She is gentle and thorough while cleaning your teeth. May God Bless this practice.

I had a dental emergency on the day I was leaving on a two week trip. The staff were awesome all the way around. Ashley found a way to work me in with Dr Hall and everyone made sure my lost crown did not spoil my trip!

Excellent experience from start to finish. Had cleaning and one filling and everything went great. I used to dread going to the dentist but that is not the case here at East Ellijay Family Dental. Dr. Settel and his entire staff are awesome!
