I am new to the area, had not had a cleaning since the CA lockdown this year. Dr Hong took me in and wow! How lucky am I. Dr Hong is completely through, open and professtional - the entire office is that way! My cleaning was very complete and helpful in getting my gums in tip top shape. My latest visit was a crown install. PAINLESS! not kidding, the entire process was not rushed yet very quick. This office teamwork is like music. Dr Hong and her assitant work quickly and effeciantly to make this process completely painless.

Judy, my dental hygienist, is always very detail and gentle. During the cleaning this time she observed inflammation in one area of my gum and she numbed it with a gel to make the cleaning more comfortable. Dr. Hong is attentive and helpful as always. At her direction, Judy took an X-ray for the troubled tooth and quickly come up with a solution plan for me.

I based my decision to visit Dr. Hongs practice based off of the online reviews I had read and I was not disappointed. For someone with a bit of a phobia of the dentist, I didn't feel worried at all. The staff were all professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. I was also very pleased with the precautions they have taken to limit everyone's exposure to Covid-19. I would recommend this practice to my friends and family as well as anyone looking for a new dentist.

Dear Howard, I'm so sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the PPE Cost. The actual cost for the PPE that we have to pay is a lot more than $10.00 due to the scarcity of all those items. We do hope that eventually the cost will go down. But we certainly do not want to jeopardize the safety of our patients and our staff for inadequate protection. Thank you for your understanding during this challenging time.

I have needed to move several times for work over the last decade, and each time I have needed to find a new dentist. Most dentists I have dealt with are dismissive of their patients' concerns and will often recommend excessive or unnecessary procedures (usually that are covered by your insurance) in order to boost their income (for instance, I once had a dentist that wanted to take x-rays every time I visited, but could not give a convincing justification as to why such frequent irradiation was necessary). This dentist office has been different. Hong took extra time to explain areas of concern (using a mirror so that I could see for my self) and potential options including their price. When I brought up additional possibilities that were less expensive for me, she considered them objectively, even if it meant that she might not be able to charge me (or my insurance) as much. The dental hygienists are friendly and professional, and when I asked the question I've been asking for years: "What can I do to improve the effectiveness of my flossing and brushing?", they didn't just respond that I do "better", but gave tangible advice which led to a discussion of advantages and disadvantages of types of floss, mouth washes, etc. Because this dental office listened to me and worked with me, I now have a condition under control that I had previously struggled with for years. Now that I am leaving Reno (once again for work), I just hope I can find another dental office that even comes close to providing the same quality of care that I received at D.T. Hong Dentistry.

I had an infected tooth and needed to be seen immediately. The receptionist said the doctor was booked but she would check and call me back. They were able to see me the same day and took excellent care of me. I am terrified of the dentist but both Dr. Hong and her staff made me feel very comfortable.
