5 star! I am going to Dr. Laurie Elgas for a long time; each year for my annual checkup and for occasional emergency eye condition. The exams are thorough, I always experience the best professional care by her and her stuff. I have the utmost confidence in the care that they provide. Great selection in quality frames and you can get your contacts at this office too!

I just had my first appointment with Dr. Elgas and it’s very clear that the entire staff’s professionalism, working environment, and good nature is a testament to all their rave reviews. Dr. Elgas has an impressive state of the art set up that affords her patients the best possible care and options. It is no small wonder that they have been so successful for so many years, as their dedication, family environment, and wonderful senses of humor is of the first order.

Dr. Elgas (Comprehensive Eye Care) and her staff are a great team. They seem to really care about each other as well as me, the patient, And they always have fun doing it. She has the best skills and equipment for testing for both short term (eye - sight) and for long term health. They have help me find ways to save money on buying stylish glasses and I have never paid for repairs/replacement of my broken glasses for over 10 years. To me, Comprehensive Eye Care is so much better than the Big Store.

Everything about the visit was excellent. Mimi was quick to greet me and confirm my information. Leanne conducted a thorough examination during which I felt comfortable that she was covering everything so Dr. Elgas could continue the exam and confirm Leanne's identification of my vision correction needs. Both Leanne and the doctor listened to me so that I felt they were making every effort to get it right. The appointment started on time and there were no delays throughout the entire appointment. As always, the visit was truly a pleasure. Thank you, team!

This is what I wrote for a google review: I actually love coming to my annual eye appt, as everyone working here is fantastic and friendly. I have seen Dr. Elgas for close to 25 years, and LOVE her. She is smart, knowledgeable, personable, and compassionate. She is a great dr but also, a great person. And multi-talented. Did you know about her musical ability? The woman can do it all. Love catching up with Mimi at the front desk (and Kathy before her.) She always has a smile waiting for patients as they enter the door and a friendly goodbye when you leave. Having the optics shop on site is added convenience, and there is always someone available to help with glasses. I have not only vision issues, but eye health ones as well, and Dr. Elgas treats it all and refers me out if needed. I would recommend this practice to anyone needing not just an optometrist, but wanting a GREAT one.

I’ve been going to this office for close to 10 years and it’s the best decision for my eye care that I could have made. Both Dr. Carlos and Dr. Elgas are exceptional doctors. And the office staff and the staff who fit new glasses for patients are wonderful and so helpful. I feel like I get a very thorough exam with the most up to date equipment that gives me peace of mind that the health of my eyes are well taken care of.

There service is the best. They do a very thorough eye exam, check your vision and also if you have any problems with your eyes. They pick up on any issues or any problems you may have with your eyes. They take there time with you and there staff is very nice. I would highly recommend them.

I've been a patient of Dr. Elgas for a very long time. I'm a firm believer that when you have a Dr. that is exceedingly competent, thorough, and professional you don't tamper with that. Moreover, Dr. Elgas and her staff are a reflection of her abilities and wonderful demeanor. She is unbeatable, hence the 5 star rating

Another great experience at Comprehensive Eye Care. My eye exam with Dr. Elgas was very thorough and I didn’t feel rushed at all. I needed a new lenses for my glasses and Liz made that process so easy and quick. When I went to pick them up Kay helped me and that process was smooth and quick.

Dr. Elgas and her staff always make my visit to Comprehensive Eye Care a very pleasant and satisfying experience. They are thorough and patient when examining my eyes to verify that they are healthy and to determine if there is a need for a change in the prescription of my lenses. For a new prescription or new frames, Liz and Kay are extremely helpful. When new lenses were needed, they were ordered and arrived very promptly. I returned and the lenses were placed in my glasses. The frames were cleaned, and heat was applied to them so that they could be adjusted to fit perfectly for me. When I wanted new frames, I was shown many styles and colors until I was satisfied that I had the right frames for me. After my lenses were placed in them, the new frames were heated and adjusted to fit me. As always, I was encouraged to return whenever I felt the need, to make sure that any of my glasses fit perfectly.

My experience at Comprehensive Eye Care was quite good. The staff are very friendly and professional and just the type of office staff that make you love your Dr.'s office. The office is centrally located and clean and welcoming. The reason I did not give my review 5 stars is 1. I did not know that they did not take insurance. I am sure if I had read up on the office I would have learned that but they came highly recommended from a friend so I didn't feel the need, also, I have never gone to an eye Dr. that did not take insurance so it never occurred to me. 2. I was not prepared to have my eyes dilated and I had to work. I also had never had that done so did not know to expect it and would have planned my day differently had I know.

Truthfully, the excellent service began long before when, over the phone, Mimi helped me tremendously in determining what I was looking for and helping me book an appointment. The exam itself was enjoyable(!) and yielded a more accurate prescription than I‘ve had in some time. I knew that I wanted to go in an unexpected direction with the frames but I was nervous about what the final result would be. It seemed that the entire staff was there to help encourage me to make the bold choice and Kay made sure that the frames worked for me and were a perfect fit! I had a very special occasion to attend and that is the day I chose to debut the new glasses. I could barely go even a few minutes without being complimented on them! First my family, then my coworkers, then other guests at the event. Complete strangers stopped me and remarked on the color, shape, and fit and how they seemed made for me. I am very near sighted and when my distance glasses broke, it was a big problem. I called CECNE and spoke with Liz. She ordered a new pair of frames for me and overnighted them. I was able to get an appointment with her shortly after that and I got my eyes back! I live in Ayer, but it's worth the travel to Natick for my yearly eye exam with Dr. Elgas and her staff. Everyone is friendly, personable and helpful. As I mentioned, my eyesight is quite compromised and I need a really good place for my eyecare. Hence the long drive to Natick from Ayer. Upon arrival, I had to call from my auto and wait until they had a room ready for me. They called me when they were ready for me. Met me at the door, took my temperature and had me use hand sanitizer. I stayed in the same room the entire time I was there. Everyone at Dr Laurie Elgas' office were wearing masks, gloves and social distancing. As my eyes were dilated, I watched Gina thoroughly disinfecting the room across the hall from me after a patient had left. There was plexiglass between Mimi and me at the front desk, as I ordered contact lenses and paid my bill. Everyone was professional and pleasant during the time I was there. I felt as comfortable as anyone could feel during this COVID PANDEMIC during my recent appointment. Excellent job! PS, I just wish their office was closer to where I live...

An excellent experience. I came for a routine eye exam. Expected the usual in-and-out in twenty minutes. Instead, was treated to a more thorough examination than I have ever known. I discovered a "floater" in my right eye. Within the hour after the call I was in the exam room and Dr. Elga started examining me. The office was very clean and there were measures taken to ensure the safety of staff and patients. There was hand sanitizer at the door and a temperature was taken to make sure I did not have a fever. Upon entering I was put in an exam room where I would stay for my entire visit. This also ensured my safety. Dr. Elgas was very thorough and kind as she always is. I was also able to shop for a pair of glasses while I waited for my eyes to dilate. The entire team seems to operate in an integrated fashion, which is important for ensuring the best possible outcomes for the patient. I no longer live in the Metrowest area and there are lots of good eye doctors in my current location. It's always a pleasure to visit Dr. Elgas' office. When I walk in the door, I am greeted and made to feel comfortable. I am seen promptly by the technician and Dr. Elgas - no delays. In this visit, Dr. Elgas found a tear in my retina and spent extra time investigating then immediately referred me to a retina specialist. Her office set up the appointment with the specialist for the next day. The office even followed up with me later in the day to make sure I was all set to see the specialist. I am very blessed to have seen Dr. Elgas at this time for she found an issue that could have been serious had it not been caught. Dr. Elgas is very highly regarded by local opthamologists.

Dr. Elgas and her staff are the best, that by which all other medical offices should be measured. Dr. Elgas diagnosed a condition requiring retinal surgery to save my vision in my left eye two years ago and just early detected a potential retinal detachment in my right eye, this past week saving my vision via simple in office painless laser stabilization. Most people probably never will need that level of care, but as a high myopic patient I'm vulnerable to retinal issues. Everyone I've referred would never go anywhere else. From eyewhere to excellence this office has it all. Thank you Dr. Elgas!!

I’ve been a very happy patient of CEC and Dr. Elgas for a long time. They are always wonderful. I trust them with my eye care. My last visit was on monday. I got checked and all my data verified. We found out my glasses prescription had changed - not a surprise as I had a stem cell transplant four months ago and this is pretty normal. Dr. Elgas checked my eyes out, showed me what the new lenses will be like. We also talked about other medical things - it happens - life. My eyes got dilated and checked - everything else was fine. She is always professional and friendly - easy to ask questions. I also talked with receptionist and optical tech - always nice, friendly people who care and want to do the right thing for you. I’ve always highly recommended going to CEC/Dr. Elgas - great people and always want to help you.

It is not an exaggeration when I say that my visit with Dr. Elgas has changed my life! I cannot believe how much better and easier all of my vision issues are! As a result of my visit I am now able to wear one contact instead of two.The prescribed contact is far more comfortable and simple to put in (which was totally NOT the case with my previous contacts) . Additionally, I can see long distance while still seeing my cell phone, computer and other small print. I also purchased glasses during my visit, and have to say it might be the first time anyone has ever fitted me for glasses where I liked the way I looked. The stylist fitting the glasses was amazing! Everyone in the office was professional, courteous, conscientious, and thorough. Truly an excellent experience, which seems almost obsolete in today's healthcare system.

I found the appointment easy to make. I went in person with my wife for her appointment and was given an appointment for myself at a later date. All my information was taken at the time I set my appointment which made it easier when I returned. I had to wait a bit, but everyone explained the reasons. My appointment was thorough, first with the lady who did the initial exams and later with the Dr. I was able to see how eyeglasses would improve my vision and I was re assured that with the exception of small cataracts and a small vitreous tear or floater that my eyes were healthy. I felt as if the visit was a positive experience and that my records going forward will track changes in my vision so that I will have the best chance of detecting any problems.

Dr. Elgas is able to find tune the prescription in such a way that she helped my mother who has a bad cataract see with corrective lenses. on my second visit to try a new type of contact lens I felt the technician was not friendly or engaging. It was difficult to understand her because of her accent. she presented the contact lens to me to try on without explaining to me which contact lens should go in which eye. As a result I place the contacts in the incorrect eyes. she had laid them out on the counter so I figured the one on the right should go in the right eye. She then told me that I put them in the wrong eyes. It was frustrating. The rest of my experience with the staff was wonderful. Professional, knowledgeable, courtesy.
