The entire experience at Blue Ridge Eye Assoc. was very good. From the moment you walk in, you’re warmly greeted by Wally (the practice manager) and in a very timely manner you’re being seen for your appt.. Dr. Cowger is very friendly, but yet very professional. She does a thorough examination, and afterwards explains everything in detail including sharing computerized images. She is very easy to talk to, and when you leave, you know that you’ve had an excellent eye examination. I definitely would recommend Blue Ridge Eye Assoc. to others.

I went to Dr. Calger for refractive services, and she spent quite a bit of time and was very thorough. She also offered to fill out a report to the D M V so I wouldn't have to have my eyes examined there, which I appreciated. I recommend her for retractive services.

Dr. Cowger and Wally have cared for my vision for years. Dr. Cowger does the best exam and prescriptions I have found anywhere. Wally chooses my frames for me, then crafts the glasses expertly. I wear progressive lenses and some other shops have had to try two or more times to get them right. Never a problem at Blue Ridge.

A small office with one eye doctor and manager. So friendly and attentive to all patients, Dr. Cowger takes her time and explains everything, Wally is excellent and efficient with all the paper work, insurance explanation, etc. I had to wait because she was spending more time with patient before me - she apologized about the wait! Very comfortable with everything - great COVID precautions.

Please don't think negatively of my ratings! Many are due to my confusion. I actually thought at the time I understood what I was answering but now am not so sure that I did. That was not Dr. Cowger or Wally's fault. I should have asked more questions. My lenses are quite a bit different than what I have been wearing for many years. I don't think I still have a good grasp on "computer lenses" vs "reading glasses." Yesterday when I first got home I was quite alarmed because it didn't seem that I could really see anything clearly except the computer screen. My left lense is clearer than the right - even on the computer. Today is some better so maybe it is just a matter of adjusting to no progressive lense. I have had them for a long time. Right now I'm struggling most with small things - like the time stamp on a text. Close up can't read at all. Far enough away for the numbers to be clear I still can't always tells what they are. I am going to give them a week to see if adjusting to the non-progressive lens makes a difference with my other concerns. Again, Dr. Cowger and Wally were wonderful. I just think I really didn't understand fully what the new lenses would be like.

I love these guys !!! My husband and I have being going there for many years. Then we moved to Chesapeake for 10 years , now we are back and living in Grottoes . The only thing I don't like about my annual eye exam are the eye-drops! Both Wally, the receptionist and office administrator, and Diane Cowger, the optometrist, are very friendly and always helpful, respectful, and kind. They do not push you to buy extra stuff. I enjoy the visit!

Dr.Cowger is very attentative. She listens to your needs and concerns. Then does a thorough exam. The office is filled with an array of glasses to choose from, in case you decide not to go with contacts. Wally, the office manager, will certainly take good care of getting your glasses adjusted properly. I would not trust my vision to anyone but Dr.Cowger.

Wally and Dr Cowger are wonderful. I have been coming here for years and have continued to return for my annual exam and glasses even after moving to Michigan! I just make the appointment for one of the few times I'm back in town. They are wonderful about fitting me into the schedule and shipping my glasses to me. I've had trouble getting my prescription correct with any other provider I've been to but with Blue Ridge Eye associates have not had a problem in 20 years!
