Dr. LeClaire is a superb optometrist---the best of many I have seen in the past 35 years. She is professional yet personable, thorough, knowledgeable, and up-to-date. She is never rushed, listens well, and explains her findings and recommendations. I am not as comfortable with the optical department. The opticians are personable enough, but I get the sense that they are working on commission and that I am being steered towards options that are overly expensive for my needs. The process of getting the right frames and lenses is made overly complicated and confusing based on a whole basketful of options and upgrades, most of which I am not confident address my reason for being there---simply to be able to see well. For just a few dollars more than the Binyon price of lenses alone---using my old frames---I am able to get new frames, lenses, plus a pair of prescription reading glasses at Costco.

I feel fortunate to work with Binyon since moving to Bellingham. You not only get me the right prescription, but also have been great guides to choosing glasses, and are always receptive to my visits to correct invariably bent frames. You also stand by your work, and have been extremely helpful with warranty issues and scratch insurance claims. A recent standout example: Jordan worked diligently with Feb 31 to warranty some frames (and then their lenses too!), and consistently kept me updated with well-communicated progress reports. In short, I am so pleased that I have recommended Binyon to friends and colleagues over the years, and even more frequently recently.

The only problem I had was because of my profound hearing loss and Dr Squires very soft voice. I am sure I missed some things that he said i.e. I don't know what was found as far as my eye condition except there was no pressure problem and there was some sort of bacterial infection in my tear ducts. A Rx was written for that. It would be usefull if I could get a written review of my exam. Next time I will bring my smart phone which has an app that will transcribe spoken words to print.

My prior experience at Binyon, several years ago, was extremely positive. I recall all team members and the doctor being extremely nice, professional and efficient. I also loved the frames they helped me choose. This experience was similar only in that everyone was very nice, but nothing really ran well. At my 8am appointment, the doctor was quite late. I understand that things happen, and he did apologize, but no one notified me that he was running late and he seemed generally flustered the whole appointment. I feel that my exam was thorough but the doctor repeatedly told me, unprompted, about his work in areas "you wouldn't want to walk at night" and lost his train of thought when answering questions I'd asked. The woman who helped me choose frames was very nice and I'm happy with the ones I decided on. I was surprised that, in 2023, she still had to handwrite my order and tabulate my total on a calculator. When my frames came in, my parents were called, rather than my number which was on my updated intake paperwork. I picked up my frames and realized later that day, after being out in the sun, that the transition lenses I'd paid for were not the ones I'd gotten. I called and left a voicemail and received a call back the next day. Apparently, the handwritten order was not accurately transcribed when placed. He also gave me more information about the transition lenses which had not been given to me during my initial appointment, and this changed my transition type. I was told to hang onto my glasses and that I could then swap them out when the new ones were in. I waited an additional two weeks and then received a voicemail that I needed to schedule a time for the lenses to be swapped in my frames. I hadn't realized it wasn't going to be a full swap and require even more time to coordinate. When I picked up my corrected order today, I asked that my Rx be emailed to me. I was assured it would be done immediately... but it has not. Overall, very disappointing.

I called to schedule an appointment for a non-regular eye exam on short notice. I was able to be seen very soon after my call, and the person handling the scheduling was very nice and helpful, answering questions about timing and payment options. Dr. LeClair was, as always, extremely kind and professional, and moved with efficiency through the exam without leaving me feeling like I had been rushed or overlooked. There was always room to ask questions or voice thoughts and concerns. Dr. LeClair has always been very thorough in our appointments and this short-notice appointment felt just the same. I always appreciate my experience at Binyon.

My most recent visit to Binyon Vision gave me the professional and friendly service I have come to expect, starting with the welcoming "Hello!" from the front desk staff. Dr McEathron's exam was thorough and professional in his quiet easy manner. Heather assisted me with selecting stylish and affordable frames. The young man who helped me with the final fit was polite and engaging. Every aspect of my last visit to Binyon Vision was outstanding. On a personal note, I realize this is likely my last visit with Dr McEathron who is soon to retire. When I think back to all of the healthcare providers I have seen over the years, Dr McEathron remains at the top of the list. I have never felt more at ease, more listen to, more cared for than with him. I will miss him and sincerely wish all of life's blessing's for him and his family.

My wife and I live in Seattle and had previously seen Dr.LeClaire for years before she moved to Bellingham. We are happy to make the trip, she is everything you could ask for in a doctor, thorough, patient, funny and, perhaps most importantly, she's kind. She takes her time (I've had eye docs run through an exam in 10-15 minutes), with Dr.LeClaire, the exam is comprehensive, it is communicative and I know, she takes the time to get to know her patients and help them with their concerns. I have a verity of eye issues, and there is no one I'd trust more to take care of me or my family than Dr.LeClaire. We're just lucky she didn't move out of state, but to be honest, we'd probably fly out to see her even then. Her clinic mirrors her personality and we felt just as taken care of with her team.

Before walking in the room, she had reviewed my records and was familiar with my eye issues. I was extremely impressed with the exam given to me by Dr LeClaire. I’ve had many, many eye exams in my life but never have I felt the sort of care that she exhibited. Not only was she thorough but she also explained things to me which other Drs had never bothered to in the past. She spent time addressing all of my concerns and followed up on my questions. Binyon has a real gem in Dr LeClaire…even if she is a Buckeye (that’s a joke and as a Wolverine I’m required to say it🤣)!

I've been wearing glasses and/or contact lenses for around 50 years and going to Binyon for several years. Dr. McEathron is the best O.D. I've ever been to and I highly recommend him to take care of your eyes. He's always very thorough when examining my eyes, very educational about the procedures, tells me what vision changes to expect in the next couple of years and the glasses with my new prescription are always perfectly clear. Other clinics I've been to there always seems to be a problem with the prescription not being what I'd hoped for.

Very helpful folks! I had a bike accident that bent my frames and popped out a lens. I was not a patient yet, and wasn't able to get a full exam with Binyon for a few weeks. But they said to bring in my glasses and they would see what they could do. They did such a great job you could hardly tell they had been damaged. Her examinations yielded results that had not been identified previously, so I felt the care was very comprehensive. April provided excellent service in helping me find eyeglasses. Doctor McEathron has been my optometrist since I was a young child. As long as he's in practice, I won't go anywhere else. But once I happened upon Binyon, because my daughter-in-law worked there briefly and I received a great discount, and though she left many years ago, I've returned only here because they do such a great job from Dr. McEthran's exams to eyeware selection and fitting, and a number of friendly no-charge follow-up visits for repairs. My most recent visit for an exam and prescription sunglasses were provided at what I thought a very reasonable price given no insurance other than Medicare.

So wonderful to have found a great new Eye Doc! I found them because they carried a brand of glasses from Spain that I adore. I needed a part and they got the part and fixed the glasses very quickly. I was excited to find an amazing selection of glasses in the shop and could not resist purchasing another pair! The office staff was friendly and James, the Optician was wonderful and professional. During these odd times, I felt very comfortable visiting the office, as they took every safety precaution they possibly could to keep their patients healthy!

Thank you Dr. McEathron for doing the right thing and keeping all of us patients safe during this pandemic. Their staff take each patient's temperature as you walk in and adhere to all social distancing/masking/sanitizing protocols. Thanks for standing up to those who may have a different opinion! During this Covid time I am reluctant to go almost anywhere. Binyon has so many safety protocols in place: social distancing, hand sanitizer, temperature checks. wiping down surfaces between clients, sanitized pens. Dr. McEathron is the best. Thorough examination and provides explanation for any question one may have. James in the optical department is thorough and helpful also. Best eye professionals I have ever had anywhere.

I had my first eye exam ever at Binyon a couple of days ago and had an extremely pleasant and informative visit with Dr. Mark. He was thorough, told me what to expect, and educated me about my eyes. I assumed that I would experience some discomfort but my appointment was completely pleasant and entirely comfortable. I’m already looking forward to returning next year! Thank you so much.

Stellar service from a locally-owned and operated business. Felt very safe with COVID precautions in place. Dr. LeClaire took time to discuss all questions I had, was very present and focused throughout the exam, and made sure I understood everything she was explaining. As soon as I left the exam, Optician Sarah had already selected some frames for me to try based on my style & her keen fashion sense. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner to pick my new look. Can’t recommend this team highly enough!
