I checked in at the appointment time and completed the necessary documentation. I was then ignored. The staff skipped over my appointment time and proceeded as if I wasn’t there. I had to ask TWICE why I wasn’t called. Someone finally figured out their screw-up and decided to call me back, but NO ONE offered an apology.

Staff and service were good. I was contacted 2 days beforehand to send a text of my new insurances. I did. When I got to the appointment they told me they didn’t take it and I’d have to pay. Why wasn’t I contacted back to say that they didn’t take it before I came? Common courtesy.

Dr. John Gill is very thorough with his eye exams. I was very pleased that cataracts were in the very beginning stages for the past several years. The pictures he took also showed no change from a year ago. I came home ready to "eyeball" anything and anyone perfectly!!

I checked in five minutes before my appointment, the clerk was friendly she took my insurance information quickly. I only wanted less than five minutes before I was processed thru by the team assistants. Dr. Gill did my examination quickly and very professional. He did a thorough exam to include letting me know that I had a freckle on one of my eyes, he explained it to me and told me that I should have it checked every year. He also noted that I should be taking a multivitamin, he did give me a script for it. The place is clean great size waiting room and they have a very smooth process in place.

At first I was not happy with my experience at Bay Area Vision and Contact Lens Center. I seemed to wait for patients who came after me who were seemingly whisked into their exam without delay. I however was the last to be seen. Despite this initial bad opinion, the doctor gave me a prescription that was spot on and I can actually see for the first time in ages. Previous doctors did not listen to my issues and the glasses they gave me did not work. I knew when I put these new glasses on that they are exactly what I needed! Thank you!

Great first visit with Dr. Walz. Everyone at reception were helpful and friendly, the techs were helpful and patient, my exam was thorough and Dr. Walz shared all the photos with me and gave me his uptake on both macular and cataract issues. I left the clinic feeling confident that I was once again in good hands vs. my eye health (again because I only moved here in February of '22. I look forward to my next visit with Dr. Walz, and how many of us can say THAT about their optometrist?!

The eye exam went well and the doctor and assistants were very professional and courteous at Bay Area Vision. It was after I received my glasses from the VA that disappointed me. The VA instructed me to take the glasses back to the vision center for any adjustments, which I did, and the person at Bay Area instructed me to take them "next door" to Eyemart. I entered Eyemart, but no one greeted me, and no one helped me, I stood around for about 10 minutes and was completely ignored, so I left. I went to the optical dept. at Walmart and they very nicely adjusted my glasses for me for free, even though I didn't get my exam there nor did I purchase anything there. I will never return to Eyemart for any reason, and if they are affiliated with Bay Area Vision, I will let the VA know that they need to find a better provider for our veterans.

The technician who called me back to the exam room was very polite and friendly. Dr Gill and his assistant, Cheyenne, were very knowledgeable, professional and helpful. I was fitted for contact lenses and they were very patient with me, especially since it's been a long time since I had them last. I was told that if I had any issues with the contacts to call and they would see me to help get me the best ones for me. I tore one of the lenses and the other one, my vision was still blurry with it. I called to see when they could get me in to fix this and I have to wait 5 days to get this done. So I'm glad I didn't give them my old glasses for new lenses, since I will be needing them to see. That's my only disappointment with Bay Area Vision, other than this I definitely recommend them and Dr Gill.

My office visit was for a normal routine check on my eyes. After my evaluation, Dr. Walz discussed my recent visit to a specialist, and also reviewed the past five years of the progression of my eyes, and how that they are still doing quite well for my age. The specialist also showed that I did not have glaucoma, but an enlarged vein in my eyes which would give similar signs that would resemble glaucoma. I leave Bay Area‘s office, knowing that I’m OK and well taken care of.

That was one of if not the best eye exams I have ever had. Dr. Gil was able to give a complete very thorough examination and come to a perfect diagnostic conclusion concerning my eyesight. The glasses I bought with his diagnosis are perfect and crystal clear. I haven’t had that in a long time.

The young gentleman that was assisting us, Raymond Rodriguez. was extremely helpful, and patient with my 8 year old son. My son has ADHD and can be very intimidating and difficult to work with. My eye exam was thorough & professional. I felt like I was important to Dr. Waltz as he carefully administered each portion of my eye exam. He carefully documented each change & compared the results to years past. He made recommendations that made me feel as though he really cared about my eye health. Each tech I encountered was polite, professional & caring. I appreciate that the exam rooms were sanitized after each patient. The bathroom was clean & well stocked.

Great office. Everybody is very nice and very efficient on their job. Very small waiting time with appointment if any - so you are done quickly to continue with your day. Reasonable on price and you get your prescription right there to continue wherever you want to go for your glasses. Thank you to all of you.

I waited to get my glasses which I received this past Saturday. This is the best I have seen in a long time. Dr. Gill got the right strength I needed. My right eye I can see more clearly. He took his time with me and I am very pleased that my wife convinced me to see him. I had basically given up based on what a specialist told me. She talked to Dr. Gill and he said to get me to see him again. I am so glad I did. Great job, Dr. Gill!

Dr. Wolz was very helpful and spent plenty of time doing the examination and explaining the results. The second young lady who did measurements was very friendly. I have to say the first young lady who did the initial testing, while professional, said very little other than instructions for the test. She wasn't really unfriendly, just seemed kind of distant in a way. But that was the only thing I can criticize and it's relatively insignificant when you consider how helpful the doctor was and how friendly the second tech was. A very, very good experience.

The service is standard. Nothing above and beyond. Now that they have become, "out of network" with my insurance, nobody there offers any help or advice. It's very unwelcoming, and at times, frustrating. After all said and done, I was given my total of just over $300 for the glasses AND contacts exam.. plus, 2 boxes of disposables and whatever fees ... I literally had to point out ANY discounts that are offered by my provider or that's exactly the amount they would have collected from me. Luckily I had printed out my insurance benefits breakdown. "Look, right here. It says 25% off that. Second, this one says $100 off if any..." etc. I left the place paying $103

This is a great office with professional and efficient doctors and staff. I have been a patient for over 15 yrs. Dr Gill has been my doctor all that time.
