Dr. Gong is a Board Certified Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. She is a developmental optometrist specializing in visual dysfunctions in adults and children. She has extensive training working with corneal specialists to fit contacts for scarred/irregular corneas, cornea transplants, keratoconus and irregular astigmatisms since 1995. Dr. Gong also works with hospitals, rehabilitative centers, physical and occupational therapists, neurologists, and other doctors for their patients who need rehabilitative vision services. Dr. Gong is an active member and a former President of the Arizona Optometric Association. She served as one of two state directors for the Special Olympics Opening Eyes Program since 2001, which provides comprehensive eye exams, glasses, sunglasses and sports goggles for hundreds of athletes every year. Dr. Gong also started the InfantSEE program in Arizona, in which participating eye doctors can provide a one-time free eye exam for infants younger than one year of age. Dr. Gong has graded eye exams for the Arizona licensing board and is a COPE reviewer for the Association of Regulatory Boards of Optometry, reviewing lectures given by other doctors around the nation. Dr. Gong is also on the Board of Directors for the AZOCF, the charitable arm of the Arizona Optometric Association. In 2012, Dr. Gong became an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor for the Arizona College of Optometry at Midwestern University.
