I have been a very happy patient/customer of Absolutely Optical for around 15 years. I just had my annual eye exam at the new location in downtown Tampa, FL. The staff are all very friendly and professional. They are all very well trained in each of their specific positions. My eye exams are always very thorough and detailed. When my prescription changes, my new eye wear is always very well done. The new location is easier to access as you don't have to walk from one end of large shopping mall to enter store. As an elder, that's a big deal. Can't go wrong with Absolutely Optical.

AbsolutlyOptical has been my favorite place to get prescription glasses when in Florida, Dr Jay Weil did a great job with my new prescription and Angelo Manzi is simply the best when it comes to customer service and choosing the right frame and making sure the glasses fit. This has been my 5th pair in 14 years and once again very happy with the fit and prescription. Thank you Absolutely Optical!

I was disappointed that I was not given the correct information over the phone regarding the rates, and prescription. In addition, I had to correct the spelling of my name. The front desk person was not that friendly. Lastly, he did not ask me if I wanted to do the refraction exam, he just added in as an up sell. (I would have gotten it anyway).

My first visit to Absolutely Optical was nearly 20 years ago and I have gone back to Dr. Weil ever since. Could I get a pair of contacts cheaper somewhere else? Probably. But, the little bit of price difference isn't enough to make up for the high quality service he provides. The guy is a total perfectionist. I was thrilled with my last pair of contacts from the moment I picked them up and popped them in. But no...Dr. Weil insisted on tweaking them because he said he could do even better. I didn't think that was possible--but he did!

Always enjoy visiting Dr. Weil and his staff at Absolutely Optical in the International Mall. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, seem to really care about me and getting me the best care for my vision. They even helped me find my 'Tony Stark' glasses that I wanted so bad and I love them! The staff helped me in every way they could to make sure that all my insurance benefits and options were taken advantage of and I really appreciated that. Dr. Weil is very patient and a great listener, fitted me with the glasses that I needed based on the criteria that I told him was most important. I couldn't be happier!

The staff was helpful and friendly. The only thing I didn’t like was that the staff doesn’t let you really pick out your own frames. They offer what they think you’d like and you feel rushed and compelled to pick one quickly so you don’t annoy them with trying on so many frames. Also, all the frames are locked up so you can’t try them on freely to see which one you really like or even try on a new style that you may like.

I’ve been a customer of absolutely optical for over 10 years. The staff is always so warm and inviting and go out of their way and take their time to make sure you’re happy with your glasses. Another reason why I keep purchasing from this store is the wide selection of prescription glasses and sunglasses for top brand names. I also get my eye exam done here and Dr Weil is awesome, he takes his time explaining what’s changed since my exam last year and makes sure not to over look anything that’s going on with my eyes. I highly recommend Dr. Weil and this store as they surely won’t disappoint!

I have been coming to this office for years and that is after trying a few other doctors. I cannot say enough good things about dr. Weil and his staff. My prescriptions have been great,the frame selection is amazing and you have 2 locations to choose from. I love the family feel around the office and you can always hear laughter. Dr Jay is the best eye doctor in Tampa. His equipment is state of the art which, in my opinion, gives you the most accurate glasses you can get. Love Dr Jay. Do not like getting you eyes dilated - not necessary with Dr Jay and his method is more accurate. Stop going to doctors that do not stay up with the latest tech.

Your staff is helpful and knows how to maintain customer service, UNTIL something goes awry. Then they panic and treat the customer as if they've done something wrong, when it's your policies (as the owner of this business) that they're forced to support. My frames were broken by your staff during warranty work for lenses. It took them nearly 4 weeks to call and tell me. Each time I called backed, I couldn't speak with anyone else except Maria. So that added another week to the mess. Your manager, Angelo, offered me 30% off towards new frames, due to breaking them. Your team did not share with me that if something like that were to happen (because the frames were no longer in warranty), that I would be responsible for replacement. One could suggest that I should have known that, based on a document I signed TWO years ago, when I purchased them. However, why offer a two year guarantee on lenses and a one year warranty on frames? Then not cover damages when they're done at the hands of your staff. I wrote you an email (since you wouldn't meet a customer in person) and you responded by sending me a letter to offer an additional discount. You should have made the decision to cover the frames, as the business owner. Instead, you acted as if you weren't aware of the situation when I had my eye exam with you, until I pointed out that you had written me a letter. And your response, "I'm only here to provide prescriptions." No, you're here to run a business, and you failed this time. You fail at customer service because you don't recognize when your customer has been wronged by your staff. They broke my frames, not me. You have given your team the gift of fear and an inability to help a customer, when something has gone wrong at the hands of your staff. A better option would be to empower them to make the RIGHT decision for the customer, even if it's at a cost to you. Your mistake, you pay for it. Don't suggest a customer pay for YOUR staff's mistake.

I was referred by a friend who has done a great deal of business with AO and I was equally impressed with their eyeglass collections and their professionalism. Everyone who works there is extremely knowledgeable and works with you to be sure that you understand your options and which glasses work best for the shape of your face and personal style. Dr. Weil gave me a thorough exam and took the time to explain everything that he was doing then offered me good advice based on the condition of my sight. Gerri helped me to select the exact pair of glasses that I was looking for. I actually picked out an additional pair because it was too difficult to select just one pair. Thank you to Dr. Weil, Gerri and their team for a great experience.

Scheduling the appointment was great, the ladies were very accommodating. However while waiting to be called in I was looking at the display case when an employee decided to wipe down the case without any acknowledgement that I was looking at the display. When I looked at him, he stated nonchalantly "I have to do this". Totally rude. When I was finally taken to a room for the "exam" I was continuously told I should get an exam I had no intention of getting, however the gentleman was a bit forceful in his presentation of the exam. No means no. As I ended the exam with the Dr. I was told to "sit there" and wait, as I informed the gentleman that I would not be purchasing my glasses or contact lenses from them, that I did however want my prescriptions the attitude got worse. I was told it is $XX and was only provided with the contact lens prescription, I had to ask for the eyeglass prescription and had to wait a few minutes for it to be printed. Refresher course in customer is a must.

when i first went in for appt. peopel seemed a little cold, they were not very helpful, i had to ask for assistance, even the second time when i came in to show my aunt my glasses, we had to look around and seemed like the sales associte was not really wanting to work. i work in hospitality...all worked out well just didnt feel very comfortable with my first visit. Dr. was wonderful..

Dr. Weil fitted me for contacts a few years ago...best pair I'd ever had. And, he did it again this time. He goes that extra mile to make sure you're happy. This time, I dragged my hubby along, who generally has problems being fitted. He was thrilled out of his mind, too! We drive all the way from Indian Rocks Beach to Absolutely Optical...because they are the best and well worth it!
