I LOVE Dr. Grigsby and the entire staff and have gone there for years. However, the appointments take longer and longer each year. I was there three hours on Monday, January 21st. But, I did arrive at 3:30 for a 4:00 appointment. Didn't get in until after 4:30 to start the process.

My son and I had simultaneous appointments. I was very pleased with our visit. I was very impressed with everybody's professionalism and friendliness. Brandon was especially patient with my 6-year-old son. It was his first formal eye exam. We saw Dr. Cook. While I had no objections with Dr. Cook for myself, I will likely request a more kid-friendly doctor for my son's appointment next year. Dr. Cook was not ugly to my son or anything like that - just went through the exam too quickly and was too matter-of-fact for my son. On the whole, it was a good experience for both of us and I look forward to making VHS our new eye care home.

I was so happy to locate Dr. Sheets. Years ago he helped my then 4th grader using therapy & exercise to strengthen the muscles around her eyes. Reading scores improved from D to A within 6 weeks. Now he helped my with all of my eye care including chronic dry eye. If he were not in my insurance group, I would still go to him.

The facility was ciean, and the people i came in contact with had a friendly smile making me feel welcome. I like to say two of the employees stood out. Brandon took me back for the initial exam. He was very kind, explaind everything, and very respectable, then after exam i went over to look for glasses where i met a young lady name Essence. She was very kind, she help me with the decision on picking which glasses looks better on me and fit my face. She was in training, but the way she treated me, she will mske an excellent employee. I will be happy to refere anyone to Vision Health Specialties.

After seeing a P.A. at an urgent care center first and my eye infection just getting worse, I went to Dr. Sheets at VHS who has been my eye doctor for 20+ years. He did a thorough exam and even used a special liquid to test for a cornea infection. I should have come here first because the urgent care doctor(s) are not eye specialists. I ended up spending twice the money needlessly. I've sure learned my lesson about future incidents with my eye(s). I have also seen other doctors at VHS and they too are wonderful and thorough like Dr. Sheets. I highly recommend choosing VHS as your eye care professionals.

We really appreciate the care of Dr. Grigsby. However, your scheduling procedure seems to have changed. In the past we rarely had to wait over 15 minutes, but our last 4 out of 5 visits we have waited 45 minutes to over an hour for a short eye check.

But but when I had my check up this last week I was told I a available credit of nearly $70.00. &70.00 I could have used last May. I have had good service in the past but I had made an appt. with my usual Dr. Sheets, & when I arrived was told he was out of the office & I was given the option of rescheduling or seeing a new dr. Since I was on a deadline to get new glasses before leaving on a trip, I saw the new dr. I did not feel that she took much care in providing my prescription (new after having cataract surgery, did not double check my answers for refraction). Then wanted to dilate my eyes, when I had just told her I'd had the surgery & pre-op dilation. Also the charge was for comprehensive exam, which I did not feel I received and did not want. I was just there for new prescription from Dr. Sheets who was familiar with my eye history. I was told that Vision Health called that morning to tell me Dr. Sheets was out, but I was home & did not receive a call. I asked if a message was left, & was told "they don't do that because they're not sure they have the right number". Lame.

My experience at Vision Health Specialties is always good. At my recent visit, there was a young man who did the preliminary checking who was very personable and nice. What an asset he is to your business. The doctor took care of the problem I was having. I appreciate the efficiency of the office.

I received excellent professional service. However I was not informed the test i received that day was not covered by my insurance. I only found out when i received a statement to pay a week later. This was a test I had not taken before. It is my expectation that when I pay at the end of my appointment all charges with my insurance company have been verified. This is the same as you expecting full payment at the end of my appointment. Makes me think I will have to know all services to be performed during my appointment and verify with my insurance company on my own to avoid non-covered procedures.

My appointment took over an hour for a simple check up. I was late getting back to work. I should have been done within an hour but instead it took an hour and fifteen minutes just to be seen with an additional 15 minutes for the actual exam and payment. Such a disrespect to me and my time. I doubt I will be returning.

From the staff yes, from Dr. Grigsby no. He used to be much more friendly, but the last couple of time my husband and I went to him, he was gruff. Dr. G didn't take time to talk to me about my concerns, he just stated his opinion, and that was that. In the end, however, it was to my benefit because we drove the 6 hours, had the procedure done and I can see much better.

I was asked to read one line with each eye in the examination room, and the projector was on while I waited for the optometrist so I memorized the line. I did not feel like I got a thorough exam. I was not offered the option to have my eyes dilated and with what I know about my eyes with possible macular degeneration I just wish I could get a more thorough exam. I was asked if I was having trouble seeing anything at the start of my visit and I gave an honest response of "yes," but this never came up again and I was told everything looked good.

Everyone was nice and helpful - the only thing that could have been better was that no one went over my insurance and since I received glasses and contacts I would have liked all the information so I could have made a good decision as to how to pay.

No, Dr. Neely ordered a bloodtest for me and I did not receive the paperwork to get it done. Nor did I receive a copy of my eye glasses prescription the day of the appointment. I have called multiple times in the last 4 days to try to get the needed paperwork and no one has called me back yet! I have seen Dr. Neely for years and have never once had this problem before, I understand staff is working on moving around things in the new building but come on. Not receiving the paperwork for blood tests that were ordered is not professional. Extremely disappointed with the service this time and I hope it improves soon.

No, the woman at the desk gave me "David Vargas's" Rx instead of mine. I didn't not because my eyes were dilated. When I arrived home I noticed it was not mine. She would not fax due to HIPPA but she violated HIPPA by giving me someone else's Rx.

Then when I finally saw dr sheets he informed me that I was 20 minutes late. What??? I was very upset! I was there for almost TWO HOURS! That's ridicules!! I'm honestly not sure if I will ever go back there again!

It would be better to have the front desk people explain you are choosing to only take a primary insurance instead of them making up reasons. I personally find it offensive when they bad mouth my insurance plan when I am the HR director and we are self funded and pay defined benefits that your people said it was because there was a problem with them paying.
