I have been to your practice many times and have gotten superb service in the past. This recent visit was the worst customer service I have experienced in a while and definitely a first at your practice. Your optician tech was combative, rude and highly inexperienced. Your other staff, like the lady in the back room who perhaps thought that other people cannot hear her, was unbelievably unprofessional. The front office staff was ambivalent when I pointed out to one of them that I had wasted a lot of my time coming for an appointment and leaving with nothing accomplished. Unfortunately, your best optician techs, like Kevin and Hazel, have been replaced with incompetent ones. I will not be returning to your practice and will never recommend it to anyone. I came in to get my prescription sunglasses done. I brought my own frames/sunglasses, as was recommended by Hazel last time when I could not find anything l liked in your selection. I was told that I would need to sign a waiver if anything happens to the sunglasses when putting prescription lenses in. I was not comfortable with that and asked that the associate if she simply could let me know if it is likely those glasses will not work before I find out the hard way. She claimed that she has never seen such glasses before or dealt with outside frames before so I asked her to ask someone with more experience. This is when she went to the back room and I heard someone exclaim "No, just no!". The lady in the backroom whom she consulted never came out to explain why, never stopped talking about her personal stuff in the back room and never suggested an alternative solution. The associate came back telling me the glasses won't work without any explanation...Prior to that, she engaged in a combative conversation with me about my glasses prescription. She insisted that it was expired even though I knew that it was not.... She did fix the nose pieces on my old sun glasses, per my request, for which I thanked her...

The receptionists were warm and efficient, and Radhika was helpful and well informed as I selected new glasses, and Dr. Kraff was pleasant and attentive to my concerns about maintaining good vision as I age. I feel confident that he has the skills and knowledge to provide the eye care I need. Overall, the treatment I have received at Virginia Vision Associates has continued to be excellent.

Sorry, but time to comment Had appointment a few weeks ago to check vision in new glasses. Discovered on visit that doctor would be required, no doctor present that day. Rescheduled. Discovered on 2nd visit that doctor was there, but unavailable, with patients. Frustrating, as that was the point of the appointment. Will be rescheduling a 3rd time. Frustrating.

Everyone on the staff is friendly and eager to be helpful. When I came in with deformed glasses following a fall, no one asked if I had an appointment just got them fixed. Dr. Lobaugh ,besides being an excellent practitioner, she is friendly and caring .

I received wrong glasses - had great customer service before. Was never given wrong glasses. My doctor was consulted to make sure that they are using the correct information. My glasses came in the wrong frame and there was no blue ray on them. Terrible service. This never happened before the private equity firm taking over and changing staff. The staff had no clue what she was doing. My exam was done elsewhere and I brought the prescription over.

Had a problem with my glasses, the coating on the arm was gone leaving it metal on my ear. I called and they said to drop in and they would look at the problem. They had spare parts and recoated my glasses so the are like brand new.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. I adore Dr. Loughbough, which is the only reason I still use this practice. Your staff are unbelieveably rude and obviously hate their jobs, which is why, from the moment they answer the phone, you know you're in trouble. They act like you're the one yelling at them when you have to yell to be heard over them interrupting you. It's not just the front desk, it's pretty much all the staff.

I'm a visitor from Hawaii, in Arlington for a short stay. Having gotten some debris in my eye and having it weld itself shut overnight, I went to an urgent care clinic in the morning and they highly recommended I try Virginia Vision for best care. I called and was offered a 9:15 AM appointment, GREAT! Dr. Eric Kraff did a thorough inspection, explained everything clearly and got me fixed up. As a bonus, a wonderful optician was able to repair my glasses at the same time. I walked in one eyed and miserable, and walked out two eyed, with working glasses, and very, very happy. Mahalo for all the excellent care and friendly service, from the front desk to the examining room - a very welcoming and first class operation the whole way.

First, given my prescription, the doctor recommended round-shaped eyeglass frame, while the staff gave me totally opposite recommendation, saying round-shaped frame is not good. This completely confused me. Second, I am not saying the doctor is not good, because I haven’t got my new glasses and try them on. But, during the examination process, I felt the new doctor rushed me through, not being as thorough as my old doctor. Third, after the interaction with the staff, I hope they know what they are doing.

They do a great job here, but even though you have to schedule an appointment to buy frames and get them adjusted, they tend to have long waits. I just bought a new pair, and they are not fitting right, but I haven't been able to get the issue addressed. June is AMAZING, but she is only one person.

For the past 12 years, my family of five has been served so well by the entire team at Virginia Vision Associates. The space is comfortable, the people are helpful and friendly, and the selection of frames is continually updated. It is truly a one-stop shop. Moreover, we have had two eye emergencies in the past, and we were treated immediately and effectively. (One event required a referral, and the specialists they recommended at the hospital were wonderful.)

The entire staff went way above and beyond to make sure my dumb ass had eyes again the very next day. It wasn't just a cold, sterile office. The staff is obviously well-treated and happy in their jobs and chatted and joked with me and it made the whole experience so much different than what I was expecting from a doctors office visit.

I would only recommend Virginia Vision Associates to anyone who is cisgender. They will have an excellent experience. Virginia Vision Associates needs to update their system and practices to be more inclusive for people of all gender identities and expressions. Their forms (including this survey) have no option to provide a non-binary gender, non-binary title (e.g., Mx), and pronouns. This was an especially glaring omission, especially since a variety of options for Titles such as Fr. and Rev. were listed, and Martial Status options of Interlocutory, Polygamous were provided. Even though the patient's pronouns were provided in the "Nickname" field, they were not used during the appointment. As a result, the patient was misgendered multiple times over the course of the appointment. Fortunately, when it came time to pick out frames, the Virginia Vision Associates employee was very helpful. Virginia Vision Associates has a great outdoor patio location for patients to safely try on frames mask-free. This survey doesn't have an option to specify an under-18 age group.

The doctors are fantastic and overall the practice is great. But you need more patient parking in the building. It’s always full even when it appears there are only 2-3 patients in the office. I think staff may park there because I’ve seen the same car parked when I came in the morning and then later on the same day.

I've been going to Dr. Lobaugh for 10+ years and I wouldn't think of seeing any other eye doctor! She solved a strange problem of mine the first time I visited her, and I've been loyal ever since, even though it takes me 25 minutes to get to the office. She really puts you at ease and just makes the whole experience relaxing and easy, plus she genuinely seems to care about her patients. You're not just another number. Plus the entire staff is kind and organized, and the office environment is welcoming. I've never had a bad experience with them. It's always nerve-wracking when switching doctors, but knowing how good VVA has been to me I had confidence that my new doctor would be great. Dr. Kraff did not disappoint. He was professional and made me feel comfortable in his expertise. While I miss Dr. Whitescarver, I'm excited to continue my care under Dr. Kraff. The technology used here is up-to-date and also gives me confidence. The retinal scanning system seems to be state of the art and helps the doctors provide excellent care.

This is my favorite medical practice. When you call their office a knowledgeable, friendly live human being answers the phone. This a very good practice. I have been going for many years & have never been disappointed. During my last visit, I told them I was having a problem with my progressive bifocals while driving. They took the time to explain to me how different regular bifocals worked from progressive lenses. The explanation & pictures really helped.

I like the practice but recently, I was 15 minutes late for an appt and,altho I was seen, they had contacted me in the interim that I had missed my appointment and would have to reschedule! Who does that! I thought it was very harsh, And the reason I was late was because my newly made glasses were not adequate for driving and I missed a turn off because I couldn't read the street signs and got lost. They also made a mistake scheduling my appt with the optometrist instead of the optician. I did get a good discount with VSP insurance but their glasses are till expensive. I really don't need designer frames. FWIW, some optometrists now use fancy gizmos to get an accurate prescription but here it's still done the tried and true way, eg better 1 or better 2. I have no idea which works better :-)

Must of your front desk workers are very rude and act like your not worth their time. When you ask them questions about prices of services they provide judgmental responses if you ask if there are cheaper alternatives. Also, ya'll are very secretive and unreasonably difficult over actually giving me my prescription. I have had better help/ customer service at a Walmart vision center.... additionally, ya'll are fairly expensive as is for mediocre service and products. I will give credit where credit is due. One of your eye doctors (the younger male doctor) was a very nice guy an helpful.

This practice remains my favorite medical practice. You get a human being on the phone when you call and everyone on staff is friendly, professional, and efficient. All the doctors are top notch. This practice is a rare find: a place where they know you and treat you like a person.
