I have been coming to Urbana Eye Care to see Dr. Gan since he was located in Clarksburg. The visit I had for my daughter Rachael on July 19th was a little off. Prior to her appointment I have received 2 calls from the receptionist asking me to verify my insurance when it's already on file. The day before her appointment the receptionist calls and tells me she is ineligible. She is not a new patient and last exam was in February 2021 so over a year. I had to call VSP on my own and they told me all is good no issues, I explained to them that Rachael will get a regular eye exam $10 and contact lenses exam up to $60 co-pay. There is some lack of knowledge with the new staff there. After her exam, we were being checked out by a new staff member, she said here are her contact trials, let us know if it works and we'll place the year supply. She says today's total is $105 and I questioned her because of what VSP told me, so she shows me the break down and I paid the $105. Then I asked her to adjust Rachael's glasses then she said I'll just clean them. That is not what I asked. If she's new and didn't know how to do it, she should have asked someone, she acted like she was rushing us out of there. Didn't take the time to explain anything. So we leave, then we get a call from Anna who has been there for years, she said when can you come back because Rachael needs to do a trial run with her contacts in our office, we were neve told that by the staff that checked us out. The experience I had with the new staff was shady, it felt off. I had asked Anna to check the insurance co-pay because I felt that it wasn't right and she had overcharged. This is unacceptable practice.

I’ve been going to Urbana Eye Care for years and can say that Dr Gan truly listens to your concerns and performs all appropriate tests to keep your eyes healthy and vision up to date. His staff is very accommodating and friendly.

Dr. Gan is always very polite and informs me of any issues or concerns regarding my eyes. The staff is always helpful and considerate to my needs from the time I enter the facility and until I leave. They always let you know the cost of your glasses and any other charges. I love the location as it is very convenient for me. Thank you Dr. Gan and your staff.

They were behind by a half an hour to a hour but never notified me to let me know. The gentleman that checked me and was very nice as was the female I believe named Anastasia.

I love this office, the staff is SO friendly and very knowledgeable. They helped me find the perfect frames for my glasses, were SO patient as I transitioned into progressive lenses, and provide all the support you need for anything. I have also taken my son and they are awesome with kids. Dr. Gan is patient, kind, and extremely proficient in his practice. Cannot recommend this office enough!

I would consider this to be mediocre service. I likely will not go back, but it got the job done for needing an eye exam. The main plus side is that they had a fair amount of availability for appointments.

Welcoming atmosphere and staff who were expedient with paperwork. Good explanation of comprehensive exam process and machines. Excellent assessment of my new prescription needs and huge selection of frames. Could find space for a coat tree; patrons would be sure to get the hang of it!

I recommend Urbana Eye Care. I trust Gan and his staff. They are knowledgable, efficient, and courteous. I get my eye exams and glasses there. Conveniently located right off of I-170.

Dr Gan is amazing! Professional, down to earth and even took the time for a conversation with me. The lady who took care of our order was also amazing. All in all a great experience except maybe for the somewhat inflated prices, which is common with small eye care shops.

My daughter and I had a wonderful visit to Urbana Eye Care recently. It was her first eye doctor appointment and I couldn’t be happier with how she was cared for. She was nervous at first, but the staff was very kind and did a good job of explaining everything. Dr. Gan had the knowledge and thoughtfulness to recommend specific lenses that will help keep my young daughter’s eyes healthy as she ages. Mr. Mike helped us select a great pair of glasses without pushing that we buy any extras since she’ll be learning how to care for her glasses with this pair. We are looking forward to picking up her new glasses soon, and are grateful to have this caring team of professionals keeping an eye on us ;).

His office manager Ann leads a well run office staff that is friendly, efficient, and helpful. We recommend Dr. Gan at Urbana Eye Care without reservation.

Great service! But wish doctor would explain the updates with my eyes. He didn’t and neither do the technician. And of course I would like to know the rx ! Maybe the communication barrier due to mask on?

I felt a bit rushed when picking my frames and was not told about about a lens thinning charge until my card was being charged and I felt ignored when I said I could pick a different pair. Other than that everyone was nice and doctor was great!

We’ve been seeing Dr. Gan for years. He is a great doctor. Now they covid has hit, it seems his check ups are less detailed. The newer staff are pressuring customers on what glasses to buy, this has never happened before. The posters in front of the waiting room are old and need to be refreshed. Why no more weekend hours??

They really give you great service and support when picking out frames. So many options and all explained with patience and listen to your needs. Shout out to the employee that assisted us. She picked out the perfect frames for me to try on and the first pair was the one I went with. Thank you. I didn't get her name but my receipt says employee 4. She has a pink porche mouse on desk. Thanj you for being so patient and very detailed.

In the current COVID situation, I felt there was too many people in the shop at one time. There was 5 employees plus the Dr and then there were 7 people waiting. I felt uncomfortable with all those people in that space. I would have rather waited in my car and be called in.
