Dr. Young was very helpful when explaining my test results, and the exam went very smoothly. I really appreciate how engaged she was with the health of my eyes and vision. The rest of my experience -- before and after the exam -- was not great. I felt rushed. I had to circle back to my concerns and requests. Overall I didn't feel like a valued patient. Prior to seeing the doctor, an assistant worked with me to fill out paperwork and perform the pre-tests. The following comments pertain to this assistant: - She went through the pre-tests too quickly. When each test started, I wasn't completely sure what to expect or do, and in some cases, I don't think I positioned myself properly to begin with. I've done these tests in the past elsewhere, but it would have been nice to spend a few more seconds to refresh my memory and make sure I do the tests correctly. - Her face mask was often below her nose. I would have felt more comfortable if the mask was worn properly. - One time she entered unannounced and interrupted while I was in the exam room with the doctor. I expect at least a knock on the door before entering, especially if I might be discussing a sensitive topic with the doctor. - She asked to take my glasses to another room to check its prescription and in the meanwhile asked me to complete my paperwork. I'm nearsighted, so I could still do that. While I appreciate wanting to minimize the wait time, this request wouldn't normally make sense. She later returned, and from the doorway, asked me to follow her to the next room. Realizing that she was also handing back my glasses, I went over to get my glasses from her and said, "sorry, I can't see very well without my glasses." - I know these comments are nitpicky, but all together these gave me a poor impression of her as a professional.

I need to drive 30 minutes out of the way but it is more than worth it. The staff is friendly and attentive. The Dr's are great. Very knowledgeable and patient in explaining everything. I don't see myself using any other optometrist in the near future.

From the moment I walked in I was greeted by a nice staff member. Off to the testing and basic questions without a hitch. Met with Dr. Chatwani and she went over all my eye issues and answered all my questions. Once everything was figured out, off to Theresa. Theresa explained everything in great detail and was a joy to work with. Everything was fabulous and I highly recommend this Optometrist to everyone looking. for one. The office is immaculate and clean beyond belief. Everything from the equipment to the counters is just stunning. The staff is fabulous and courteous. A++++++++++ rating. Absolutely hands down the BEST!

Very pleased with the services from Dr. Chatwani and her staff. I had to come in to have the prescription adjusted to my new glasses I use for working in front of a computer. Both me and my wife got to Tri City for our Annual Eye checking, every year the experience keeps getting better. They have all latest equipment that can get check your Eyes without much issues, in the past opti map of the eyes takes lot of time and this year they had new machine which was more advance in taking picture of the eyes. And yes Dr. Chatwani was very nice from greeting us to doing the test and recommending the new pair of glasses as needed. They also have a wide verity of frames to choose from and all the staffs are very knowledgeable about what they are doing.

I had an excellent visit, i was very surprised and appreciative that they still had my information from my last visit in 2016 still available, very impressed. There was no wait time, I arrived on time and was taken back for my exam immediately. Dr. Chatwani was very professional and thorough in explaining to me in what she saw in my results from the exam, she even requested that they take another shot of my eyes for further clarification and made suggestions to me. It was an excellent visit.

Searching for optometry services after a long time of not getting your eyes checked? Well, look no further as Tri-City Optometry (in Fremont on Mowrey Ave) is the only place you should go! Why? The STAFF. Everyone here was hospitable, starting at the moment someone picked up my call to open the door to let me into the building. I was kindly directed to my seat and the hallways to various rooms for my appointment. When seeing my assigned doctor, SY, I was professionally informed about the current status of my dear eyes. SY gave me all the details and advice while also answering any questions I had. I had a lot. She was patient and efficient during my appointment. She made sure to clarify her presentation of any complex medical type wisdom in a way, that someone like myself, who is far removed from the optometry world, was able to easily understand the information. After seeing SY, I was immediately assisted by an amazing Office Manager who made me feel at home. We shared jokes and connected on a level that I thought I would not be able to achieve at an optometry office! There is a reason why she is a manager after all! My appointment was originally scheduled for 1 hour but the atmosphere that had been cultivated by the amazing staff just made me want to stay there and hang out! I'm excited to come back to pick up my glasses! This will be a "1st Optemery Visit" experience that I will never forget!

It was my first time here and my first impression of it was great. Walking in, it looks and smells so clean. There is good lighting and it’s bigger than I thought it was. The bathroom is really nice and clean. There’s updated technology and my doctor Samantha Young was very nice and informative. She explains things very clearly when you have questions and super easy to understand. The receptionists are also very nice and welcoming. Dr. Chatwani is excellent, she goes above and beyond when giving an eye exam and assisting in your overall eye health. I have worn RGP (hard contacts) for over 25 years and she is an expert when it comes to making them fit perfectly. Her office team have always been profession at check in and check out, they also show compassion when doing the eye testing including that puff machine and camera. My eyes don't like to stay open for those tests. Dr. C works with my insurance company, which can be challenging. If you are looking for a clean, professional ophthalmology office Tri-City Optometry in Fremont is worth the drive if you live in the Bay Area.

I have an upcoming Cataract Surgery in 2 weeks and Dr. Chatwani's Office was available for me to come by and try out a trial contact lens for distance vision. I needed to choose between an intermediate or distance lens that will be implanted during Cataract Surgery and having this opportunity to try on a lens and test my vision before the procedure was all worth it. 4.5/5 Prior to the appointment I was emailed forms to fill out. While that was an easy process I think that if places ask you your preferred name, it would be good practice for staff to pay attention to that as my formal name was used instead of my preferred name when I did come to my appointment. Due to covid I called in per their instructions and was let in by staff. The receptionist checked me in and told me to wait. So I stood awkwardly in front of the desk to wait a little bit before being seen while staff worked around me. Afterwards, the tech that took me to my exams had made sure to explain what was being done and cleaned the stations in front of me before I used them. She was friendly and informative. She then took me into another room to be seen by Doctor Young. I’ve seen another optometrist before, but I didn’t know it was subpar compared to the quality service as Dr. Young showed! At every step of the way she explained what she was doing and even taught me things about my eyes and anatomy I didn’t know before! I highly recommend her. Even though I’ll be moving away from the area soon, I think I’ll still make the trek out here to be seen by her because of the service she provided. Additionally, the tech that helped me out with purchasing new glasses and sending in my old sunglasses to have them updated with my new prescription was easy to work with. No problems at all!

Loved my experience! I would definitely recommend Tri-City Optometry to friends and family. Theresa G. greeted me and made sure my insurance information was accurate. She also helped me pick out a pair of frames. She was so patient with me. I tried on over 20 frames. She explained what was and was not covered with my insurance. And followed up with a detailed/itemized receipt. Brandon was awesome too. He did all of my eye tests. There were alot, from blowing air into my eye, talking photos of my eye, testing with a 3D book and glasses and more. He was professional and efficient. Dr. Young did my complete eye exam and was so patient and explained everything to me. After 41 years of life, I do need a eye prescription for night time driving. Amazing experience overall. Very happy with my experience.

I thought the optician was good who was helping me select my glasses. I really didn't understand about progressives or what it meant without insurance. Sometimes I am willing to pay a premium to buy from you and sometimes I am not, it just depends. After I determined that I wasn't going to buy from you, I had actually thought, I would just go without. But then I happened to be in Costco and checked them out. They gave me the price I needed to be under for my MSA account. My only complaint was that it was more difficult than it should have been to get a prescription for Costco. I waited over an hour at Costco, then drove to your offices. It was only when I was at the door ready to come in for a copy of the prescription would then email it to me. It felt like they were holding my prescription hostage and were punishing me for not buying glasses from them. I have been a long term customer, over 10 years. I have been loyal to this practice, I thought I deserved better.

My family & I have been a patient with Tri-City Optometry for 8 years. Dr. Shital Chatwani and her staff has always be very professional and friendly to all of us. It feels more like a family visit vs. an eye doctor visit. Jody is the BEST! Patience, courteous, well knowledge on the product & insurance. Each year, she is the one who helped us on picking the glasses, going through insurance to make sure we got what we needed. Thank you Dr. Chatwani, Jody, and staff for helping us all this year! 😊❤

Excellent eye exam, amazing doctor who spent a lot of time answering my concerns and conducted an extremely thorough exam. Would highly recommend this place to everyone. Eye wear collection could've been better but I did my glasses and am very happy.

Dr. Chatwani and her staff are the best! I’ve been with Tri-City Optometry for almost 20yrs now. They are efficient and super friendly. They have a wide selection of frames to choose from as well. I love their annual holiday trunk shows along with their great deals and prizes. I have moved across the bay and I still make the effort to come here because its hard to find a great optometrist with great services. Dr. Chatwani has a cute office (looks like a house from the outside) with state of the art equipments. Her office is also very clean which is very important during this pandemic. Be sure to make an appointment before you come as walk-ins are no longer permitted for the time being.

First time here and saw Dr Young. Dr Young is very thorough and has a great positive attitude. With the current pandemic going on I guess I have been looking at my laptop and phone screens more than ever. The blue light is affecting my reading vision and Dr Young helped me with options to manage multiple needs for glasses. Going back next week to pick up glasses.

An appointment at Tri-City Optometry is a visit with friends as far as I'm concerned. From the moment Brandon came to my car window to let me know it was okay for me to come in for my appointment, I recognized the care and concern that Tri-City Optometry has for their patients. All of the staff members are friendly and helpful, wiping down all of the equipment and even chairs before I used them. I love that Drs. Young and Chatwani are so easygoing and approachable. I also love how Dr. Young explains complex concepts that she obviously studied for years and puts them in layman's terms to help me to understand. Once the exam is finished, it is fun to try on glasses and enjoy the many options available in the office. I had a great experience with my optician (so sorry can't recall her name!) and she helped me choose my frames that I am really pleased with.

By far and hands down, the best customer service around. The welcoming staff, Dr.'s and Benefits manager were are fabulous. From walking through the front door, the initial test, and getting my eyes checked was spectacular. Everything from top to bottom was clean and care and safety was 100%. Dr. Chatwani is always discussing options and doing all the right tests for my vision. Her staff is very knowledgeable of all the testing machines and choosing frames. I wanted to share my experience. First, I want to say the doctor I saw was awesome! She was very thorough, explained each step as we did the eye testing, and very friendly. I have concerns about my experience before seeing the doctor. I was fifteen-minute late to my appointment and understand the assistant was probably in a rush. Normally, I see the assistant clean the equipment in front of me, but I'm assuming since I was late she had previously done it before I arrived. When I started the initial testing test, the lady that was helping me touch my forehead, hair, face mask, and shoulders with her bare hands (no gloves) several times to adjust my head position for the machines. At one of the testing stations, she put her two fingers on the machine where my forehead was supposed to be positioned and had me put my forehead against her fingernails. I don't know this lady's name, but I saw her go out to the lobby touch some stuff and she didn't sanitize her hands before helping me with my testing. In the midst of COVID, I'm pretty sure these are not sanitary procedures. At the very least, if medical personnel is going to touch a patient, they should wash their hand and/or put on gloves. My husband and I have been going to your office for several years and really like your practice; however, today's experience truly makes me question your sanitary procedures, especially amongst this pandemic.

Considering the COVID19 circumstances Dr. Chatwani and staff were well prepared. Cleaning the clinic environment prior to my entrance and each exam room I needed to go in for testing and evaluation. The entire staff team wore proper protective attire including gloves and mask, face shields. The exam went well. As always excellent service caring, paying attention to all details of my exam and picking out new lenses. The exam didn't feel much different from other normal visit circumstances.

My family and I have been seeing Dr. Chatwani since the last 8 years and have always received excellent advise from her. Not only is she a great doctor but also takes the time to present different options when deciding which contact lenses to go with. I was not ready to use reading glasses, so she provided me with contact lens options which I could use for both distance and reading. I really appreciate her thinking out of the box!!

I am so pleased with finding Tri-City Optometry. They are very close to my home and Dr. Chatwani and her staff are very friendly, courteous and professional. I had scheduled my first eye appointment using their online scheduling service and received an email confirmation but somehow my appointment was not in their calendar for that day. They were still able to take me which was great. Dr. Chatwani was also very thorough with my eye exam and with explaining what steps were necessary for my next visit.

While I was watching for your office and at the same time I was watching the traffic, when I saw your office (I was in the right lane) I had to drive to Bonner Ave so I could get on Mowry (now going West) to get back to your office. Where your office is located on Mowry, my thought of how your captured clients and more important, your new customers who have zero understanding of your office, they my get flustered and go to another optometrist, and that is not good. One option that may solve the problem would you put on your marketing material, utilize the GPS system. The coordinates of your office is: 37.559000, -121.979250 Using these coordinates above, Siri (the woman who tells me when to turn and other instructions) will get your clients to your office within 75-feet of the door of your office. I felt very bad, regarding this optometry institution. We called for the report of my child vision test and findings. The staffs were very irresponsible and did not provide the report. We called around 5 times for the report. Every time the staff's telling some excuses. I will not suggest this irresponsible optometry for anyone. During the day of consultation, the doctor was too quick and did not respond to all the questions of our question's regarding our child vision and issues. Then we decided to consult to an ophthalmologist and asked the report, there was no response. Too pathetic staffs and team.

I've been going to Tri-City for years now and Dr. Chital and her team are the best! The conversations are easy and don't feel forced as they do with most other doctors. Dr. Chital also makes an effort to remember you as a person rather than you as just a patient, which is always nice. Everything is always explained clearly and questions are answered promptly. The staff is always super friendly and helpful, too. Another great thing is that the staff is pretty honest with you when you're trying out new glasses. They'll provide suggestions on they think may go with your face shape, but they also take your taste into consideration. It can be easy to be biased about what "looks good" if you like or dislike a particular style, so it's great to have that outside, unbiased POV. To be clear, they will tell you if your favorite pair don't look amazing on you, which I am definitely grateful for! The appointments go as quickly as they need to so no one's time is wasted, but also without feeling like you're being rushed out the door. The online appointment calendar is also pretty great because you can see who's available on what day at what time and select what works for you. This way you can plan your day accordingly without having to wait around for a callback to confirm the appointment. I have to commute a bit now to get to Tri-City but it's absolutely worth it. I'd rather make the drive than see someone else! Love you guys!

Dr Chatwani is an amazing optometrist! She has the expertise and the knowledge to be a great doctor!. One of the areas she specializes in is scleral lenses for Keratoconus patients and we have had a wonderful experience as we go through this complicated process for my teenage son. Dr C is so thorough and takes the time to explain the most complicated issues in a very simple manner. She is friendly and compassionate and my children love coming here. Her staff is super energetic and welcoming too and they always greet you with a smile. They go over and beyond what is expected to make sure you are taken care of. They are very easy to work with to coordinate appointment times, contact lens/glasses orders, insurance, and payments. As a physician ,I am impressed with the quality of care this clinic provides and highly recommend it to my family and friends.

The young lady in the front desk was very nice and showed professional demeanor. She is also very pleasant when I talked to her on the phone. I cannot remember her name, she is Hispanic with a dark hair. The Doctor is very nice and warm. The only thing negative I have to say is that, the room where they perform the tests are cramped and a little bit Hazardouz. My overall experience is satisfactory.

I have been coming to Tri-City Optometry and to Dr. Chatwani for 12 years now! It is always one of the easiest and straightforward appointments one can have. She explains what is going on with your vision and discusses the options to take to better ones vision. I tried contacts in High School, but my eyes just can't handle them. Thankfully, there are numerous glasses to choose from and the optical team always helps when it comes to choosing the frame, type of lens, and added benefits to the glasses. I will continue to be a patient here and I always feel so welcomed when I arrive.

Automatic email reminders and an upcoming scheduling system are fantastic features, she definitely embraces technology. Ricky was very happy that he did not have to have his eyes dilated because of the new technology offered at Tri-City Optometry. I was happy I was given the option to choose the other because now he will have a record on file so it will be easier to see if any changes in his eyes aside from the vision. The examination by the assistant in a series of eye testing equipment was followed by a detailed check up of the eyes by Dr. Shital. As I am a diabetic patient, the doctor took her time to examine and she repeated the optomap test again with dilation to be doubly sure my retinas were not affected. I enjoy going to Tricity Optometry and I would recommend them absolutely with appreciation to my friends and relatives.

Dr. Chatwani, Besides from having to wait 30 minutes and not getting a single apology from that, you've somehow still managed to make MYSELF, the patient feel bad. Throughout the whole time I was in the room, you kept implying that the contacts were not working out for me because "You are not happy with it" and " You complained about it". Am I to feel bad or feel accountable because the contacts YOU are giving me trials for are unfortunately NOT working out? Like you said, they did not work out because they are not the right fit. Not because I can't be happy about it or complaining. I am not the professional here, so if I, the patient have questions or concerns, patients should expect answers without a condescending tone. Showing me to the back of the office to "prove a point" is very unprofessional.
