I’ve had eye issues since my late teens (I’m in my 40’s now.) Over those years I’ve had cornea transplants in each eye. After the transplants, I had to wear Gas-Perm (hard) contacts to be able to see at all (I was legally without them.) The gas-perm contacts are very uncomfortable and expensive. I eventually had Lasik on my Cornea transplants and my vision improved for a couple of years. However, my right eye's vision degraded to where it was before the Lasik surgery. I visited an ophthalmologist recommended by my cornea surgeon. The ophthalmologist recommended $3000 contacts that would require multiple and frequent visits...and if they ever got lost or damaged, my prescription changed, I would have to pay astronomical amounts again. The ophthalmologist said this was my only option to see good again. Even glasses would only improve a little. I decided to try the glasses and forgo the expensive contacts. The glasses helped slightly but not a lot. Recently I was talking to a friend who recently saw Dr. Tran. He raved about his experience with Dr. Tran and recommended I talk to him.. I scheduled an appointment and upon arriving the staff was very friendly and warm. I had just sat down when one of the friendly staff took me back to get some measurements Unlike other ophthalmologist’s offices, I was taken to a room with a half dozen or so high-tech “eye” machines. .(I’ve been to offices with 1 or maybe 2 machines similar to this, but nothing to this extent.) We went to each machine taking deep scans and images of my eyes. The processes was quick and efficient and all the technology was impressive.. After the scans, I was taken to meet Dr. Tran in his office. He was very polite and seemed compassionate about my vision. Dr. Tran pulled up each image of my eyes on a big HDTV. Dr Tran and his team are always professional, with a great personality, and fully understands the needs and issues facing his patients. Very impressed with Dr. Tran and his staff. Staff was friendly, accommodating and professional. Dr. Tran is, without question, the BEST optometrist I've encountered in 50+ years of vision care (starting wearing eyeglasses in my teens)---he carefully explains the findings of the exams in language a layman can understand, takes the time to explain eye health and offers preventive information and suggestions--always with eye health at the forefront. And, Dr. Tran is honest--I came in for an annual exam and mentioned that I thought maybe my sight wasn't quite as good as previously. After examining my eyes, he said that while my vision may have changed a tiny bit (my words, not his) and he could write me a prescription for new lenses, the change was so subtle I wouldn't notice the difference between my current lenses and the new ones. Most eye doctors would simply write a prescription for new glasses and collect the cost of a new set of glasses. Not Dr. Tran, it was so refreshing to meet an honest practitioner. I highly recommend and wouldn't hesitate for a moment to refer my family and friends to him.

Everyone here was so respectful and kind. I felt immediately comfortable even though it was literally my first time visiting. I got the whole gamut of tests and was thoroughly impressed with the attentive care I received from the assistants, and Dr. Tran was without a doubt the most caring and genuine optometrist I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. He is so open and compassionate, made sure I understood my risk factors and how to recognize issues and seek treatment, and was friendly and warm and empathetic. Honestly, you can tell he does this work because he wants to help people and this passion is evident. As well, the assistants were very helpful in helping me pick a new set of frames, discussed my options and pricing and made sure I was alright with everything, and did several tests to ensure my new glasses will fit perfectly. I wish I could give more than 5 stars - Dr. Tran and his team are wonderful and I am so glad to be under their care.

My experience overall was good. Jennifer was the constant professional. Her step by step instructions were a comfort on my first appointment. She even helped me narrow down my frames based on my profile and feedback. The office is impressive. It was clean and comfortable. Dr. Tran was busy. He still took time to get to know me as a person before ending our session. He made it feel at home. On the other hand on I felt there was an opportunity with the use of training reps. I was a little taken back when a training rep took over from there. It being my first appointment I felt a more experienced rep would have gone a long ways to relax my jitters and deliver a smoother first time client experience. But, I will be back.

I was greeted as I entered the door. I was a few minutes early for my exam. I was escorted to the test room at the my appointed time and the testing began. After the testing, I was then moved to other room where I waited just a few minutes for Dr. Tran to appear and begin going over the results. The eye exam was thorough, more thorough than I have ever had from any provider. The results were shown and explained to me in terms that I understood. I would recommend Dr. Huey Tran to anyone and that included my family and friends. I am completely happy with the service provided.

Enjoyed the process from initial arrival to departure. After the technician performed the tasks, I was taken to an examination room for some additional technician lead testing. Upon conclusion, I waited 3 minutes for the doctor to arrive. The doctor explained options well, didn't put any pressure on me to act now. Very nice process overall.

I've been going to Transvision for the past 5 years, and I have only had positive experience. The staff is very courteous and friendly. Fortunately, nothing serious was wrong with my eyes, but I found Dr. Tran was personable and help educate me about my eye situation and what preventative measures to take for the future health of my eyes. This was my first visit to TransVIsion on a recommendation. The exam and level of service was excellent. This was a more detailed and comprehensive exam than I have ever had previously. Each test was explained in detail. I did have to re-take one test but it was quickly re-done. The explanation was detailed for each test and I was shown the film. All questions were answered in detail and I came away with a complete understanding of some issues that I have. Excellent tests and explanations. I highly recommend TransVIsion and Dr. Tran

Dr. Trahn really seems to care about his patients, and I was very surprised and happy by his decision to waive my copay to get glaucoma testing done. I didn't have to wait 15 minutes but there was not an option with less time. I didn't mind waiting I love Dr Tran and the exam is worth the wait. Dr Tran always take his time to explain everything to me. However, when scheduling my appointment I spoke with Nina and she was not very pleasant. I had to demand she schedule my appointment. She kept insisting it was not time for my exam & my prescription from last year was good. I explained I didn't fill the scripts & didn't get new glasses and that my benefits started over in January. I finally had to say "Just schedule my appointment". This is the first bad experience I've had since I started seeing Dr Tran.

Dr. Tran has the best practice! I walked in and was immediately greeted. Within 5 minutes (I'm not exaggerating) I was done with my eye exams, photos, etc. None of the exam procedures were painful. 2 min later, Dr. Tran met me in the exam room and explained what was going on with my eyes. He made me feel at ease. His staff ordered my new glasses, helped me understand the copay and I was out of there in under 15 minutes. I will continue to come back as long as I live in Dallas!!!!!!

I've never been to an optometrist office and didn't leave with glasses. Your whole process is weird and I will not revisit. Also, if I'm charged anything by my health care provider I will be back in the office so that you can file my claim properly. Thanks

I was extremely impressed and can't wait to refer Dr. Trans (and his staff) to everyone I know who is looking for vision care or who is unhappy with their current optometrist. My wait was due to being short staffed that day; and it was explained to me, so I was fine with the wait. Dr. Trans was very thorough in explaining all the tests to me. I've been going to another optometrist for 30 years and the tests were never explained.

He even took some extra time to explain to me how other vision problems may be identified using the photos taken - as well as examples of pictures showing these problems. Very informative! Dr. Tran is a fantastic eye doctor and his office is equipped with state of the art diagnostic tools. Very Impressed! I was seen for trauma to my eye caused by an eyeliner and did not know how dangerous it is to get a scratch on the cornea so be careful with your makeup application because the eye antibiotics are expensive. Highly recommend Dr. Tran.

Dr. Tran was absolutely fantastic. I felt like he truly cared about me as a patient and was very informative. While the beginning tests were being performed on me, I would have like to have been told what was going on. The technician swiftly told me what to do then moved on to the next test. It would have been nice to know what the test was, why I was doing it, and what the tests were looking at/for. I had no idea what was going on. Overall experience was good. Dr. Tran really turned everything around and made the experience great.

After being a patient for seven years I've never experienced that. I understand that business picks up however scheduling accurately should remain a priority. But receptionist was on the phone so I had to wait more. It would be nice if when we check out, she remembers to ask whether we want a copy of the prescription. Thanks.

It is inappropriate to make phone calls concerning a patients insurance from the reception desk but they also used speaker phone which is both inappropriate in light of patient confidentiality and annoying to the othe patients in the waiting area. That is the only glaring detail that reduced my rating, I appreciated the rest of the care, attention to detail and thoroughness of the appointmen.

Wasn't that long of a wait so it wasn't a big deal but she should have probably acknowledged me and motioned to me somehow to either have a seat or wait.

I don't like the glaucoma test, with the puff of air, and I would have liked to know it was going to happen before it happened. She may have just have been tired like I was.

Dr. Tran is an informative, caring person. He went over info abt dry eye and punctual occlusion. He explained the lacrimal punctum is how tears drain fr the eye and by a slight plug, tears drain slower and keep the eye fr feeling so dry, for chronic dry eyes. Also love the images of my retina on a big screen transposed over older images so I can look for myself if anything changed. I have never had a Dr. take the time to show me these things.

as i told dr. tran [when i saw him for my exam], his staff told me that my insurance no longer covered eye exams, AFTER i was waiting in the lobby for 15 minutes! [and i have been coming here for several years using blue cross blue shield insurance]. i immediately called my insurance company and spoke to an insurance rep who said my insurance DOES cover the exam and another refraction code [that his staff told me was not covered]. this should have been told to me before i came for my appointment so i did not have to make the call after i arrived for my exam. and somehow the staff needs to be more careful when checking insurance coverage, as what i was told by his staff was incorrect, per the insurance rep. other than that, his staff is very cordial, dr. tran is very good at explaining things, and has what appears to be the latest in technology in the equipment he uses for the exams. also, he could be more prompt; not making his patients wait so long for their exams, per the scheduled time.

Dr. T took the time to educate me. Recommended I stay off contacts for several months because of the prior damage to my cornea I had no idea contacts would do this. Rather than try to make me pay more on something I didn't need. My prescription also didn't change so he didn't force me to get a new pair of glasses. I'm going to since my insurance will cover them and I need an extra pair.

His staff was knowledgeable about my insurance coverage and let me know exactly what I could spend that was covered, and what was not covered. Excellent experience. I have worn contact lenses for the last 15 years of my life, and I just relocated from Lubbock, a place where there are only a few eye care facilities to choose from. I cannot believe I have not come to your office before. I called about an urgent eye care need and there was no hesitation on the doctor or the staff. They care about my eyes as much as I do and that is a great quality to have in a medical office. I finally know that I have found my eye doctor. Doctor seemed rushed the entire visit. The presciption I recieved was not suited for my vision, had to go back and get a new prescription. With the doctor would have taken his time. The only reason this gets two stars is the help staff.
