Would give zero stats if I could. I don't appreciate being lied to, telling me I could not get an eye exam that was not dilated, because my insurance would not cover it, when my insurance in fact would cover it was horrible. Lying to a patient to, get them to have a procedure done that the did not want takes away patient rights. Untruthfully blaming in on insurance and thier PCP, instead of explaining that you feel dialated exams are superior to retinal imaging, and obtaining a waiver if needed to skip dilation, violates the legal doctrine of Informed consent. Your license should be revoked and your provider jailed. In 44 years of life I have never trusted a healthcare provider less or felt more violated. You should be ashamed.

Dr.Green and the whole team with which I had contact, were very friendly, helpful and professional. I also looked at frames. I had to order a pair of frames in a color I wanted. Again found the staff friendly, helpful and professional. Would I recommend Dr.Green to friends and family? Yes, I already did. Co-worker has appointment near future. Dr and Staff are great. Frame prices are through the roof. Was not offered sunglasses after my dilation caused me incredible headache eye pain and blurred vision throughout the rest of the day and night.

First time for myself. Been there with my husband many times before. It took awhile to call me back to the exam room. But it was a short time I had to wait for the Dr. All staff was courteous and professional.

I had cataract surgery and the glasses Vision Care prescribed following the surgery were not providing the vision I had hoped to have. I called Vision Care and Dr Betz retested my vision and agreed a different prescription would be better. I haven’t received those glasses yet, but I appreciate the fact they listened to me and corrected the problem.

The wait time was reasonable. Dr. Betz explained the findings after the exam and answered my questions. All staff were courteous. The only issue was that when I got home, I realized the receipt I was given was for another patient.

I’m 75 and I have been to all of the “discount stores”. I came to the Vision Care Center because I was tired of the bait and switch.(that can be shortened to BS) All the staff that I have dealt with have been there for numerous years. Everyone is very professional and very knowledgeable of their responsibilities. My first prescription and fitting resulted in the best vision I have had in 40 years. The exams are more in-depth than the “others”. I wear trifocals and the lens positioning is the best I’ve ever had. They are not the “cheapest” but I believe they are t absolutely the best value for your investment.

The Vision Care Center in Newburgh is a true example of how an office should be run. Employees are kind and thoughtful. Doctors are personable. Most important of all, the appointments are on time. Patients come first. I don't plan on going anywhere else.

Dr. Jon(Weyer) examined my eyes and advised all looks good however there was a red spot on my lower left eye stating that it is not to be concerned with however on Saturday 11/11 the day after the exam my left eye is red and aches a bit. I will be calling for an appointment on Monday 11/13.

Visit was great, staff was wonderful throughout exam. However when I got home I had a quick question about my new contact lenses as they were not marked which was for which eye. Tried calling the office. Tried every extension and each went to voicemail except for front desk who transferred me back to a line that went to voicemail. This was a Thursday morning, not during lunch time. Very frustrating.

Dr Eric Weyer has been my eye doctor for many years. He’s great and is very thorough and caring. The rest of the staff is fantastic also. Highly recommend this group of eyecare specialist.

Like and trust Dr Tharp professionally but over an hour wait (several yrs in a row) for exam seems unprofessional in this day and age and the fact that it happened at least several years running suggests no one is managing this issue - see fewer patients? build in extra time or recesses? And, the yearly exam is usually a 15 month exam - one can't get in sooner. And Dr T does seem more harried and "pushed" - no time for even small social amenities nowadays (much better in past; apologized for long wait, etc). If I rated on care, I would give this practice a 5; rated on overall experience at the office, it would be "not so good". Some assistants friendly, some not.-, btw.

I've been a patient of the vision care center for years. I've never had a bad or subpar experience. I recently had a corneal abrasion. I got off work one morning and headed straight there to wait until they opened. I was out of the office with bottle of OTC drops and a prescription for eye drops by 0830, as a walk in. Later in the day I called about some increasing pain and had another prescription sent in within an hour. They made room for a follow up appt the next morning. They truly care for their patients and do whatever they can to help, even if it's inconvenient for them.

I like coming to vision care and I have for years. I don’t like having a test that they say insurance won’t pay because it’s cosmetic. I had a choice to have that test or have my eyes dilated. I chose the test. I also so t agree with the fit fee and whatever for contact lens. It’s might be different if they were actually fitting some new lens but I’ve had these for quite some time. Don’t have me sign a form. Just check my eyes. Sorry these fees upset me. Never had to pay them with Dr. Loehr or Dr. Tharp. And what did the test actually show? I don’t think they could get a good reading.

I am a person with multiple disabilities, one being brain injury from a texting driver who hit me at high speed. This causes memory issues and disorganization. I lost my insurance card. Christine at front desk made me feel awful. I was almost in tears. I had a zero balance, I might add. I felt my appt. was going to be canceled for the day. I was able to pull up a copy of my card online, but your office internet is very slow, so I had to endure her longer. I'm very happy with Dr. Jon and all other staff. I've been a longtime patient and hope to continue, but will likely leave if I'm ever treated so poorly again. I request that you train front desk staff regarding how to treat disabled persons with empathy. Before the TBI I was a successful litigation attorney. After the TBI I was unable to return to a prior job I loved. It has been hard enough for me the past 3+ years and I'd appreciate it if I never encountered this rudeness ever again in your facility. My goal is not to get Christine in trouble or fired. I simply ask that you assure it never again happens to anyone. Thank you for reading my complaint. I rarely ever complain about my Healthcare providers.

Dr Tharp did my cataract surgery and I had trouble with my vision initially. I was worried because although the colors were much more clear and bright, things were not sharply in focus. I had some persistent corneal swelling. Dr Tharp was concerned as well and took so much time with me. He checked every aspect of my eye. I have never seen so many machines to check the eyes before. After he strengthened the steroid I was on in about 10 days my vision was restored crystal clear and sharp. I was able to see 20/20 in my corrected eye. The Vivity lens seems to be working perfectly now and I love it. I am hopeful with the correction of my other lens I will be able to give up my glasses after 56 years!!! Dr Tharp and his staff were so patient and compassionate. I can’t thank them enough for their professionalism and Dr Tharp’s perfectionism!! I can see!! Thank you so much, MaryBeth

Everything was great with exam but when finished I was sent for contacts purchase and explained I had 2 insurances and they would not look into what was my best option to purchase glasses and contacts. If the would have looked into it I would have got a better deal switching the insurance. Very pushy at contact center. Eyeglass personnel researched my best option with 3 insurances and saved me a lot of money by just taking the time to look into it.

I’m out $1700 that could have easily been avoided….. Hind sight is always 20/20. The staff is excellent, Dr. Tharp is an excellent doctor, I just wish I was given the opportunity to wear a contact prior to cataract surgery…. I would have made a different choice of lens and saved the $1700.

I was being treated for dry eye since December 12, 2022. I took 2 different expensive prescriptions and used OTC eye drops, nothing was clearing my cloudy vision. I contacted the office multiple times and was told to keep using the drops that it would take time. I also told my family physician that something was wrong with my right eye she referred me to a specialist at your office I got a call back saying that I did not need to see a specialist I was being treated and to give it more time I believe this was in February. Finally it is March and no improvement I called and said that I needed to see someone about my eye. I was scheduled and this time multiple tests were performed and it was discovered that I actually had 3 cataracts in my right eye and 1 cataract in my left eye with both eyes having puckered retinas. I am leaving on a cruise March 23, so yes I will need to go with cloudy vision. My specialist appointment is not until April the soonest I could get in! I am disappointed with the time it took to diagnose this and felt like if the tests had been ran in December this could have been resolved by now. I have been a patient of your office for 4-5 years so my eye history is there for review; issues with floaters, dx with cataracts, age is 67 so prime for eye issues. I hope by leaving this review that another patient will not have to go through this process of being put off.

I have been a patient of Dr Jon Weyer for 3 years and I rate him 5 Stars! In just three years, he has save my eyesight several times! Initially I was a 47 year old female referred to Dr Jon due to having just been diagnosed with a Macro Pituitary Adenoma (Pituitary Tumor) and I was informed by my doctor that the reason I needed to see an ophthalmologist was because it appeared that the tumor was pushing up on my optic chasm (optic nerve) on the MRI. If that was true, then I was likely going to lose my vision rapidly. Dr Jon had met with me and had set me up with a series of tests. He was invested in my sight, it was obvious. He prepared documents for the Neurosurgeon regarding my vision. I was able to bring the documents to the Neurosurgeon appointment, which was extremely helpful. I had appointments and tests regularly and it was he who noted when the tumor grew dangerously close to making me lose all of my vision. I did lose my peripheral, which I have never regained after the surgery. Dr Jon was also critical in treating histoplasmosis that attacked my macular! He did shots, which ended up stopping the two bleeding spots! I now just have a small area in the left of center that is a scar. Finally, I live on corticosteroids since I do not have a pituitary gland or thyroid and as a result my eyes have cataracts and glaucoma. I now have to have cataract surgery. I wouldn’t allow anyone else to do it but Dr Jon! He is the steady hand I need to get my vision back!

I love Dr Green. He is knowledgeable, professional and friendly. I recommend him to my friends. I was disappointed with the lack of professionalism by the front desk. It was lunchtime and a woman took 2 calls while I was sitting in the lobby. She was frustrated with the people and complained loudly about them. The 2 other people in the lobby both reacted with eye contact with me and shocked facial responses. My other interactions with everyone else was very good. I understand being frustrated with people but this woman needs to find a more isolated place to complain. It is a bad reflection on the practice and completely inappropriate.

Overall great experience with all staff! Very patient and professional with my 3 yr old. I do understand that the Opthalmologist was very busy, but the only thing I wished went differently was time spent on explaining my son's vision issues with me more. I got very little information on his eyesight. I've never worn glasses, and none of my kids have. So I do not know much about vision issues, and would have liked it if the Dr. was not in such a hurry to move on to the next patient. Or at the very least, had his assistants/staff go over things with me. I asked a few questions to get a better understanding, but could definitely sense that the Dr. was rushed. I wish I was asked if I had any other questions. Perhaps, it will be different on his follow-up appt after he's worn his glasses for a month. I of course googled everything to get a better understanding. That's my only suggestion, I still feel the appt went great, and I do understand the Dr's time is precious. I also appreciate the quality of work completed to diagnose, fit and prepare my son's glasses from the Opthalmologist, his direct staff and the eyeglasses staff!

The Vision Care Center on Evansville's east side, as well as their offices located in downtown Evansville, provide the highest quality in eye care. The staff and doctors have their patient's interest at heart and show concern for the desired outcome for the patient. I have personally been under the care of Dr. Andrew Tharp for a variety of eye related issues, including various surgeries. I wouldn't consider any other ophthalmologist for the problems I have had. There is very little wait time for the patients. The office and the scheduling are handled efficiently and promptly. Follow-up inquiries by the staff and doctors are excellent. Well - I had told the nurse that I have trouble with dilation drops lasting so long and this is the first time they have lasted over 24 hours. Scared me. I called the office and the phone nurse said I was given a high percentage dilation drops than usual. Why??? I hope I can please go back to lower dosage (which I didn't realize there were percentages to those drops - thought one size fits all) :) . And it's very hard to pick out glass frames when eyes are big as saucers. Thank you so much. Patti Humphries

Office staff was awful, but the physician was great. I showed up 15 minutes early to fill out new patient information. The office staff had trouble verifying my insurance information. While I’m on a 3-way phone call with my HR and VSP insurance to get my member information, I have her barking at me to straighten it out and telling me I missed my appointment time and would need to reschedule. I said no, that was completely unacceptable to me and I would go someplace else. They then went to “check to see if the physician could still see me.” I’ve legitimately managed clinical offices before, and I would never allow someone to use that attitude with a patient. She acted like everything she had to do for her job was a terrible inconvenience to her.

After my appointment, I got fitted for new eyeglasses. The staff there was also friendly, professional, and helpful with getting me new glasses. I cannot express how thankful and grateful I am to Dr Jon Weyer and his entire staff! I am 3 days post op Lasik surgery and the entire process was so easy! Having Amanda in the surgical room (whom I never met only talked to on the phone) just hearing her soothing voice walking me through the process comforted me more than she will ever know! This has been the best decision I have ever made and the only regret I have is not getting this done sooner! I went back the next morning for a quick f/u visit and was in and out within a few minutes. I am happy to report that I now have 20/15 vision w/o contacts or glasses!! The staff is prompt, friendly, very knowledgeable and there to help you! I already have two friends who are seriously thinking about Lasik after hearing my testimonial! I was seen by Dr. Chad Baker not by dr. thorp. He was thorough and I found out a lot about Diabetes and the eyes that I didnt know before. When I got to the checkout I was charged $67 insted of the $29 I was asked to okay by the assistant. Dr. Baker did not mention there would be an extra charge when he did a refraction. He also didnt alert me to the fact that dilating the eye wouldnt go away for several hours. It was 7 p.m. before my eyes cleared up. I was alone and I was terrified while driving myself home .

Late but still worked me in. I was about 15 minutes late for my appointment but the receptionist said if she could squeeze me in. She came back and said if I wanted to wait, she would call me. I was having some vision problems after a severe fall that resulted in a severe concussion. Dr. Baker, at the Vision Center figured out what a neuro-optometrist in Indianapolis missed. After waiting weeks for an appointment and then having my appointment changed by the office, I then waited for over 30 minutes to see the nurse/technician. She was very efficient and nice but then I waited another 15 or 20 minutes to see the doctor. He was great but had to step out for another 10 or 15 minutes. He explained everything so I understood him and felt comfortable enough to ask questions. I felt he was attentive to my problem while he was there. An appointment that should have lasted 30 to 40 minutes lasted 2 hours.

I chose to see Dr. Morgan Betz as my primary eyecare physician as a few months ago I had an eyelash rubbing my eyeball that needed to be removed. She was very professional, quick, and personable. I also appreciate the work of her assistant, Renee, as she, too, is very personable, professional, and efficient. The entire staff takes and makes great effort in taking time for their patients. It’s easy access in and out of the parking lot and the building. From the moment you arrive and speak to the receptionist to the moment you leave and check out with the receptionist, you will not be disappointed!

Dr. Eric Weir is the best. Several years ago he did a thorough investigation of my vision troubles. I had been wearing contacts and just couldn't stand them any longer. He spent a great deal of time examining my eyes.He determined I had two astigmatisms causing the trouble. He fitted me with glasses and my eyes relaxed and I have had no further problems. He is the most thorough Doctor I have. The staff is very helpful also.

I have found my appointments at the Vision Care Center to be very good with friendly, caring staff and doctors. Usually I don't have to wait more than a few minutes for the appointment. However, at my last appointment I was in the waiting room for a full hour. Then my appointment was fast and efficient. I have also found the staff in the shop very helpful in selecting glasses and getting the extras, such as bifocals, adjusted correctly. Being a musician is an extra challenge because I need specific glasses for reading music and seeing conductors. Dr. Thomas Loehr has been especially skillful at getting the right combination so I can read confidently without strain. Dr. Andrew Tharp has been very good in dealing with my cataracts and surgery to correct that problem.
