I hadn't seen Dr. Spind in over a year as I moved out of the area. I needed a same day appointment regarding a fall I had, and Dr. Spind was willing to see me and fit me in, as no other eye doctor in my area would do that. He ensured me that everything was ok, that I had no scratch to my cornea and the cataract implant was right where it was supposed to be! Was such a relief to hear that.

I’m a “visual” kind of person - Show Me. Dr. Spind showed me with his eye machine device what my new vision/glasses will let me see clearly, and then dialed in the settings for my current lens prescription while looking at the same letter rows on eye chart. WOW - what difference! Old prescription blurry, new prescription will be crisp and clear. Nice! Now I can see the difference , I’ve been “Shown”. Dr. Spind is so serious, so I love joking with/at him. Hopefully sees that.

You can expect an honest assessment on the health of your eyes along with reasonable solutions to concerns (example: monthly contacts were having an adverse effect on the health of my eyes, so we switched to daily wear). Had an emergency involving my eyes, made a call to the office, and the office staff was able to work me in with-in 10 minutes of my call. Dr. Spind evaluated the situation and checked other vitals of the eyes. Providing an Rx which had helped to alleviate the irritating condition in my eyes. Made arrangement to see me again with 24 to check on the condition of my eyes. So far, the Rx is working, and the cooperation of the complete office has been excellent.

I went to Dr. Spind for the first time on 3/30/19. He was thorough with the eye examination and he took the time to answer any questions that I had. He was also very courteous. I also liked the fact that, with the exception of a test that was done by another staff member that took less than a minute, Dr. Spind did the majority of the examination, unlike other eye treatment centers who have their staff do a portion of the assessment. I would not hesitate to go to him again for my eye care needs.

The actual appointment and exam were perfect. Dr. Spind is very quick and there was no wait. I explained to Dr. Spind that I have a phobia with my eyes. He kept talking and put the drops in quickly. It was perfect and I was able to sit through the entire exam on the first try. It was not stressful at all for me. On a side note and the reason I am only giving 2 stars. I requested a copy of my office notes from the days visit. Imagine my surprise when I opened them to find they belonged to someone else. My concern now is the lack of HIPPA compliance. Errors happen but something like that should never happen. When I called the next day the lady who answered the phone didn't see worried or alarmed about it nor did she ask me to return the incorrect documents. These documents have both personal and medical information on them. It's a shame really, but a doctor is judged by his front office and you can imagine how I feel about my visit now.

I left completely satisfied with my exam, my experience, and my purchase of new glasses. I will be keeping him as my primary eye care doctor moving forward.

Very responsive...I sent an email from their website at night and received a call the next morning just after opening time. They squeezed me in (at their offer, not my request) that afternoon, and Dr. Spind was very accommodating to figure out what was wrong with my new contact lens. Luckily, it was the wrong shipment of contacts and the wrong prescription...it took less than 5 minutes to correct the issue, order replacement contacts, and I was out the door.

Once again I got my eyes in trouble with an infection. As this happened on a Saturday, I figured I would stop at one of the "minute clinics" for help. With some drops for my eyes I headed home hoping that the problem would go away but by Tuesday I knew I had to see "my" eye doctor. As a walk in to Glen Burnie Eyecare the staff arranged for me to see Dr. Spind within 15 minutes. After an exam and some different eye drops I was on my way. By Wednesday my eyes felt great. Dr. Spindle is one of the best eye doctors I've seen. After getting an eye exam from a chain eye store, I experienced headaches and blurry vision. Dr. Spindle discovered they had given me a prescription that was too strong for both my glasses and contacts. The glasses Dr. Spindle gave are the perfect strength and fixed the issues I had experienced with my original glasses. On top of that, they're actually on time with appointments!

It was definitely different than in the past within your office. Generally the staff (receptionist area)is very nice, this time I rather felt that I was bothering them with any question that I did have. They was no contact other than what is your name and once given I was asked to take a seat. The Staff behind the desk seemed more interesting in what was going on with someone's ex- friend love life then taking care of the clients in front of them. The part of the Staff which help with ordering new glasses, were actually the BEST part of my visit. Both ladies listen to me and were very helpful with my selection of frames. Please forgive me, I forgot their names (one was actually new to the office as she was being trained, and the other I have had the pleasure with working with from a previous visit). Both these young ladies to me SAVED what was a very unpleasant experience on that Friday morning. When I pick-up my new glasses in a couple of weeks, this will be my last visit.

My visits to Dr. Spind has always been covered by my Insurance (United Healthcare) but was told that the office does not accept this insurance.

Ms. White, we do accept United Health Care as medical insurance. We do not accept United's vision plan called Spectera. We believe that if we accepted Spectera it would limit our ability to properly care for our patient's eyes in a manner in which we have for many years. We can examine you under your medical coverage, and give you and itemized bill to be submitted to your vision plan for any materials purchased.
