A convenient location, flexible hours and availability, beautiful office, friendly staff, excellent variety of glasses. I had a great routine eye exam with Dr. Sulewski, too. She was knowledgeable, thorough, and kind. I especially appreciated her patience in considering my personal goals and budget for plan of care.

This was my first time visiting an eye doctor in the Hudson area and I will definitely stick with Specs! The appointment itself was so efficient. The front desk staff were extremely helpful with checking me in and helping me find a pair of glasses that will best suit me. A+!

Every one was great including Dr. Ripkin. Been going to Dr. Ripkin for well over 10 years. My quality of care is the most important thing to me, which was still there. The building inside is not as warm and inviting as it was but the care was still great!

I had to switch vision providers and had my first experience with Ripkin on Saturday. Everyone was extremely kind and went out of their way to assist me.The eyeglasses selection was phenomenal. I was in and out in around 40 minutes. Would absolutely recommend coming here for your eye care, I cannot speak highly enough about my experience.

I felt the eye doctor who I last saw at this location did not accurately assess my vision. Mind you, I had just seen the doctor at Ripken vision August of last year and here we are January of this year and I had to get a brand new prescription. Also my husband felt that the doctor at Ripken seemed like she was rushing him along and she seemed uncaring. When I try to make another appointment to correct my prescription the doctor was never available. As a result or all of this, I had to go see another eye doctor who is a part of a different facility at a different place all together. This doctor ended up having to change my prescription because it was wrong. We will not be returning to Ripken vision.

I wrote my appointment day and time on the wrong day. No problem. They fit me in with not a second thought. From the front desk ladies to the assistants to Doc Ripkin they were first class. Great way to run a business!! Always comfortable there and given first class treatment.

I came to the office without an appointment because my eyes were very blurry for no apparent reason. I was scared and worried there was something seriously wrong because that had never happened to me before. Dr. Ripkin made time to see me. I didn't have to wait very long to see him. He examined me and told me I had dry eyes. I was relieved that's all that was wrong with my eyes. He made me feel calm and reassured I would be ok. Thank you Dr. Ripkin!

Been going to SPECS for several years. I fail to understand why this firm does not think enough its customers to tell them that the previous Doctor has left. Months ago. Rather, they take a cavalier attitude and wait until you walk in the door for your annual appointment. It is not that they do not have the means. They send out numerous emails telling you they are closing for holidays so communicating is not beyond their ability. Gives me the feeling that I am just a number. Nothing against the new Doctor. She seems to be quite competent. I will be re-evaluating who I choose to do my business with.

I came to Ripkin Vision center from a friend recommendation and sure glad I did. Dr. Ripkin is very thorough and takes his time to talk to you and make sure you understand what's going on. His staff is also very helpful. I'm 59 years old and never had to wear glasses or contacts before so this is all new to me. I also just went in to Dr. Lamier, OD to get fixed up with contact lenses. She was very thorough and helpful and has me set up with trial contacts. Jim in the optical department was very patient with helping me get them in and out of my eyes.

I was a little skeptical when I returned back to Specs In Hudson this year to get my yearly eye exam and updated lenses. The entire staff had changed, all of the doctors and office personnel were different. The old staff had relocated and moved on. However, I found these new people quite friendly, helpful and efficient. They filled our needs and answered our questions, and we were on our way. Same great service, so we will continue to remain customers.

This place is excellent. I had laser eye surgery and the staff was professional and my eye sight is excellent. Their staff is also very accommodating. I accidentally showed up a day early for a follow up visit and they squeezed me into the schedule. Its probably rare to get squeezed in on the wrong day but they pulled it off and I am so grateful for it.

I tried to call yesterday morning (Thursday) as I realized the new dry eye medication was driving me crazy. I had never taken it twice in one day and I had noticed some itching, etc.before but did not think it was that medication. So I cancelled the order at Acme and called to talk to someone but no one returned my call. At this point my eyes are still itchy and watering. I am not sure what to do. Thanks, Nancy Harwood

The brief waiting time was excellent. Paige, the technician who checked me in, was also excellent in the way she explained what she was doing and she answered my questions so that I really understood what she the procedures. Dr. Ripkin was direct and to the point. He understood my situation and explained my treatment options. I really appreciated his approach to my eye care.

Several years ago I had a catarac removed by Dr. Ripkin. I was very happy with he job he did, so I trusted him to do my other eye. I didn't even question which doctor I would choose for the surgery. It is a good feeling to totally trust your surgeon. Once again...great job!

The staff at Ripkin helped me in an emergency situation with an injury to my cornea. As a walk-in, I was seated comfortably in a dark room until a doctor could be available, and everyone was warm and very helpful. When the doctor arrived, she treated me promptly, and was able to find a particle in my eye lid, remove it, and prescribe an antibiotic ointment to help with healing. My eye recovered in a day or two. I am indebted to the helpful people at Ripkin.

I find all of the staff members to be very friendly and attentive to my eye needs. I am appreciative of the time each individual spent with me to make sure my needs were addressed properly. I was having difficulty adjusting to my new glasses and was given a very extensive eye recheck to make sure I had the right prescription. I also spent time with an optician, who examined both my new and old glasses. A few adjustments were made to my new glasses and my problem with dizziness disappeared. I appreciate all that was done to resolve my issue. My dizziness issue was take seriously from the beginning and the staff continued to take whatever steps were necessary to make sure it was resolved. Thank you.

I was disappointed in the lack of follow thru on my visit on Thursday the 25 th. Dr. Ripkins gave me a new prescription and I was told that they would call the Ravenna Walgreen’ s drug store and I could pick it up on my stop for my flu shot which was on my way home. It was not called in nor was it called in on Friday. Saturday I called your office and was told that the computers were down and I was asked the name of the prescription. The combination of handwriting and my eye trouble made it impossible to spell the drug’s name from the instructions given me. I told her that I could not make all the letters out and that it should be in my record. She replied that she told me that the computers were down. I was unaware that was the only record you kept. I do not know if the computers were down Thursday at 11;30 am and all day Friday and Saturday or not. I am sure the whole thing was frustrating for the staff but not as frustrating as not being able to see and spell a never heard of drug.

I was pleased with my recent visit to Ripken Vision. As usual the entire visit was very pleasant. The office accommodations are first class and the staff is very professional and friendly. The doctors are the best and I would recommend them to anyone.. I am, by the way, 85 years old and thanks to their care, through retina problems and cataract surgery on both eyes I have had no problems and in fact recently passed my drivers license renewal eye test perfectly. My experience at Ripkin Vision was great. All of the office staff were very helpful. Chris was wonderful, did a great exam and put me very much at ease. Dr. Ripkin explained what was going on with my eye and I trust him. My only negative was that when I had my first eye exam, I was not told that I needed a driver. I had forgotten how bad your vision is after this exam.

Dr. Ripkin has been my eye doctor for over 30 years and he is excellent in every way! I liked him after my first visit as he was and is very interested in nutrition and eating wholesome natural foods. He also has a good sense of humor and made me feel at ease right away. He is an excellent opthamologist who is very gentle and thorough. I trust him 100% with my eyes and since I was borderline glaucoma for a long time and now have it, his expert care means everything to me. I recommend Dr. Ripkin to everyone I know!

Overall, great. Doctor Parnell corrected a diagnosis from another office, updating needed medication for which the previous diagnosis would have not been prescribed. This, in turn, assuredly sped up recovery.

I wish I would have known there was a charge for some procedure that was done- around $45. The front desk member said they always charge the patient because insurance companies rarely cover it. Telling me that up front would have been nice since I thought I would only be paying my copay that day.

Great to have laser equipment at your facility! Had eye exam by very efficient tech! Always so cheerful. Dr. Ripkin advised me of my options after explaining the situation. I chose laser capsulotomy. I find the disparity between the appointment time and the actual appointment frustrating. It really isn't much better than it was six years ago, ten years ago, 15 except that I am older and have far less time left in my life to sit in a Doctor's office (with my eyes dilated so I cannot read).

the doctor was great very informative and explained my situation well. the receptionist kept trying to collect a co-pay from me even after I explained to her that my visit is covered 100%. I was not happy with the way she dealt with me and I do not think i'll be going back.

$45 was demanded of me by receptionist when I was leaving. She refused to submit the service to my insurance companies for what I was being charged for. Other optometrists I have seen submit the claim. Then if denied I receive billing for same. I received a receipt for my "payment" but what it was for was not indicated in the receipt. I put in a call for Billing to understand what expenses I would encounter should I continue with the procedure I came to inquire about but received not call back. I was able to obtain some information for same for Chris with some questions remaining. The info PDF that was sent to my email address will not open. No other option to gain the info given. A video as offered by others would be helpful. Still unclear what is ahead should I continue with said organization.

Appointment - bad waiting in room. Waited about 30 minutes in the room until Doctor arrived. This day was long. It would be better to let me wait by the tv room than in the doctors eye chair for half an hour or more. Chair uncomfortable and bored sitting.

Extremelyu unfriendly front desk staff. My insurance changed and was unprepared for the higher copay. I had only 40 dollars since Christmas was just last week. I was given an extremely difficult time to come up with the remaining balance, which will be paid- GUARANTEED. I haven been coming there for years and have spent hundreds of dollars there for glasses, etc and never been treated so rudely.

It's frustrating to wait SO long to be seen by the doctor. I arrived at 8:15 for an 8:30 a.m. apt and was not seen by the dr until 9:20. Other than the long wait, the rest of the apt was great!

Honestly checking in and only hearing "date of birth" as a greeting kills my impression. Are your receptionists over worked? I hate saying this but they make me feel like they are doing me a favor to help them. I don't know the name but the younger brunette with long hair seems like she would rather be working with upscale people. All I can say is a smile would go a long way-even if it's fake. I love Doctor Ripkin and Doctor Parnell. So professional. The care staff are great as well. I would just remind the receptionists that they have a job because of clients/patients and not the other way around.

Appointment took 2 hours. I was not given a good explaination of the lens options available for my cataract surgery. I was told that Medicare would pay for new glasses after surgery. I find that they only give a minor amount and that new glasses will cost more than 650$.

There were two things about the cataract surgery that I'd like to see clarified: 1) The sheet I was given said that I could bend over after surgery while the nurses cautioned me not to. 2) the sheet I got after the operation said to use tylenol or alleve for pain. This ought to have been on the sheet given BEFORE the operation, as I did not have the Medication when I needed it.

That day I received an email with a synopsis of what had transpired and also information about my condition. I feel very comfortable in this office.

There were 2 receptionists, one not at all friendly or accommodating. She really does not represent your office well. I'm certain she must be competent on her double screen PC, but really, don't make patients stand at the desk without looking up-she seems bored. Also, most people don't like to blurt out birthdays, a little discretion would be helpful. We love your practice and Dr. Ripkin is the best. Front desk is weak. This is not meant to be disparaging, but wanting to bring to your attention.

You have improved enormously in terms of seeing patients promptly. It is a personal prejudice I have: I am uncomfortable with an ophthalmologist coupled with an optometrist. I recognize the economic logic but I still feel pressured. This does not mean I will leave your practice. I have been with Dr Ripkin for over twenty years, Dr Brinker before him, and I trust him.

Having had Dr. Ripkin as my doctor for over 25 yrs it should be self explanatory that I have great confidence in him. There is little that I would change in the overall operation of things; if anything, I would wish for a shorter wait time to actually see the doctor, but I already know that my entire visit time will be +- 2 hrs.

I think it would be nice if the employee taking the patient into the back for the preliminary screening said something like, 'hello Susan, my name is (name) and I'll be doing blah, blah, blah. .. The only comment I have that might be of interest to you is I received an appointment confirmation by email to arrive the day before at 3:30. My original appointment was Thursday at 11:30. Not wanting to get charged for a no show on Wednesday at 3:30 I kept that appointment but there really wasn't an appoint then so I don't know why I received that email. I checked the email several times to make sure I had read it correctly and I did . So you might want to check your scheduling program to see if there's a glitch so that doesn't happen to others.

Having been a long time patient of Dr. Ripkin and now Dr. Stephens, I have always been very pleased with their friendly approach and expertise. The staff has always been very friendly and proffesional. The only thing I can think of that is a negative is the time it takes to for an appointment to be completed-2hrs. or more, but I plan for this.

I believed I was there this time only for pressure check since Dr. started me on generic eye drops test 30 days ago and would not be charged for this appointment. When leaving I was charged full copay and receptionist only said : that's the way it is. I persuaded no further as it was not open for discussion. Maybe she was right, I'll never know.

everything was great. my only concern right now is the cost of they 2 eye drops I was prescribed, so far I can not afford to get them. Luckily, I was given a sample of the steroid, but it is almost gone and it hasn't been the two weeks I was instructed to use them. Maybe a second option could be given to pts. who can not afford the cost of the drops.

When I entered the waiting room there were no patients. I was called but had to waiting 1hour and 15 minutes for the physician to come into the room. Every time I come to the office there is an extended wait time for the physician to come into the room. Is this because the physician is overbook? I have been a patient for a long time and this happens every time. I was supposed to have a optic nerve assessment and a field vision test I don't believe I received the field vision test.

Good customer service from staff is so important. You can have the best doctor, but the interaction with front desk staff/those returning (or not returning) calls and emails make all the difference. Being attentive and friendly can not be underestimated and is always appreciated. It's the difference between good and great.

With some Dr's., I leave the office wondering if the Dr. really knows what's going on with my condition. I never have that feeling with Dr. Ripkin. He spends all the time necessary to make sure the patient understands exactly what is going on. I joke with my wife that I wish he could also be our primary physician! We wouldn't drive thirty miles to see Dr. Ripkin if we didn't think he was the best!

Had drops in my eyes and didn't realize how blinded I was until I walked out in the sunlight! Had to sit in my car for 10-15 min. before feeling ok to drive. Last time, I rec'd reversal drops. Is that no longer being done or an oversight? Besides that, everything and everybody were very pleasant and explained all as we went along.

From the time I walked in the door to the time I left was 2 hours. One test and pressure check. Dr. Ripkin explained he was covering for another doctor as well.

I thought the times between procedures were rather long but then you figure time for this to transpire-to do this and that, I'll wait until next appointment to pass judgement. I was treated very good. Overall it was an excellent adventure.

They tried to charge me for a refraction test that was part of the dianosis for my eye problem. I did not ask for a new prescription or to be tested. It was done as a diagnosis. i can not help but think this was done on purpose because I usally pay my co payment when I first come in. This time they say to wait until after my visit. Now I know why.

Appointment at 3pm. Doctor sees me at 4:30 pm. It is always 1-2 hrs past my appointment time every visit. My time is valuable. I can' t always allocate 3 hrs for an visit, nor should I have to.

It would be really helpful if Dr. Beyers had more appt options. My happy was moved from the scheduled time because he had to leave early. I had to try to sandwich it between two other apps and ended up having to cancel my second appt because of the time change. It made my day very long, rushed, and I was frustrated because I had no options in taking the appt I was given due to him only being in the office once a month.

OTHERWISE, I WOULD'VE HAD TO COME BACK ON ANOTHER DAY WHICH WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN CONVENIENT FOR ME SINCE I WORK PART-TIME AND TUESDAY IS MY ONE DAY OFF. The gal who checked me out appeared confused. I repeated 3 times where to send my prescription but when I got home I had a message asking for clarification. Also, this is the 2nd visit I had to remind her to charge me for refraction. Up to that point your staff had operated very efficiently and friendly.

Annual eye exam. The staff was friendly and helpful. They called my Yellow cab driver in time for my pick-up with very little waiting time. I wish I could have secured my glasses via Care Source. One of the places they referred me to will help me.

Dr Ripkin is excellent. I was going to another eye doctor. I told him the problems I was having. When I told Dr Ripkin he checked further. I needed carter act surgery. No w I only need reading glasses. Also he has special eye testing that detected a problem with my eye. I have to go to retina specialist. If I wasn't going to dr. Ripkin maybe this problem would have been discovered too late. The staff is always friendly. They make you feel welcome. If I would have to wait to see Dr. Ripkin the wait would be worth it. I don't mind waiting for a doctor who is excellent at his job.

All the personnel were really friendly and greet patients as quickly as possible. I have concerns with the structure itself. I am handicapped and your outside automatic door was not working on the day of my appointment and the door would only open half way, very frustrating for some by themselves using a wheelchair or walker or even a cane. The concrete barrier that separates the parking lot from the drop off needs to be cut out in the middle so handicapped do not have to go all the way around to get in the building or to their vehicles. Other than that all was very,very good. Thank you.

Dr.Ripping is excellent at what he does. I think that some of the ladies at the front desk can be warmer towards the customer. I grant you I was about 15 min late due to detours, and I was pushed back even though the office was behind schedule anyway. I was there almost 3 hrs.otherror than that all is well.

My appointment was at 1:20. I saw Dr. Ripkin at 3:00 In the meantime I was tested but still had to wait 45 minutes or so after that. This is why I prefer to come early in the morning. I thought Dr. Ripkin said my next appointment was in 6 months but the chart showed four months. Perhaps I did not understand something about my eyesight.

I would love it if you would have services for making new eye prosthetics. Also for upkeep and polishing. The place nearest no longer allow clients to come in unless they are clients of the docs at the clinic, Novus. An ocularist could come in every few months , bring her equipment and set up appointments. Have difficulty getting all the way to downtown Cleveland. Thanks, here's hoping! KAW

Front desk requesting copay when told by us none would apply as per experience and specifically what Summa Care stated. Ask desk person to check records and after a review they noted no charge would apply. We fully support your close watch of required payments and commend the due diligence, however it can be a close call when you are not gracious about it.

The staff was considerate enough to realize my appointment was a quick follow-up, while there were technically two ahead of me with longer more difficult appointments anticipated. As a result I was taken and completed quickly before the more complex people. This was very considerate and helped my schedule very much.

you may need 2 people at the front desk answering phones and greeting patients. I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment (12:50) and there was only 1 person at the front desk and the phone was ringing off the hook. I had to wait while she was taking care of the calls (I don't know if it always that busy). A woman came to get me while I was still waiting to check in.

The pre-surgery consultation for my cataract was unnecessary. Chris and I didn't cover anything that Dr. Ripkin and I hadn't talked about during my office visit the previous week. Other than getting eye drops - which I could have gotten the previous week - the consultation could have been done with a short phone call instead of me taking two hours off work and paying a $40 co-pay.

I think Dr. Ripkin should hire another eye specialist to work for him. I had to wait 1 and 1/2 hrs. after the field test for him to visit me and complete the appointment process. I was there a total of 2 and 1/2 hrs.

I did not receive a reminder call. I called half hour before appointment to confirm. I was put on Hold. After 5 min. I hung up the phone called back. They had Mixed up on my time scheduled for 12:30 and 1;20 Told me I had an appointment at 1:20 pm. Busy at the front when I came in, only one person available. There was a different girl when I complete my visit. She was more calm and attentive to me. That evening I looked at my emails. I received a email that morning at 11:30 am. A phone call would have been much more helpful and less frustrating. Office Visit staff otherwise were very good!

I never got a break down of the $280.00 charge only a credit card receipt. I received no prescription for glasses. I love Dr Ripkin, he is probably one of the best Dr's I have ever seen in my life.

Wish there weren't botox "signs" in the waiting area. Not sure what the connection to eye care is. LOVE, love, love the fireplace--makes the waiting area so comfy.

The young woman at the front desk with the dark hair was not a welcoming person. I have not seen her before but she is certainly not what I have come to expect when I come through your front door. I did not ever see her smile at anyone or interact with enthusiasm. It was clear to me she would have preferred to be somewhere else. This is not your usual employee.

The receptionist was rude to me. I noticed her curt tone with several elderly patients who waited in line behind me as well. Very unfortunate because the rest of the staff was pleasant

I was having a problem when I called for an appointment and was given one for the next day which I felt was very good so I have no complaints and when I came in, Dr. Parnell took care of me quickly, explained my problem, gave me medication and I was on my way! I was very pleased.

At each and every step of the process, everyone was very pleasant and professional. Based on multiple visits, this is the standard that Ripkin Vision has set, and everyone is living up to that standard each visit.

Appointments should be made farther apart. I got back there on doctor but had to wait hour and half. Than the woman took the other patient who had appointment after me first cause he was sick. I even came before he did. His appt was 12:50 and my was 12:40.
