What I like most about this office, is they keep business with their clients simple and real. They offered your written prescription the day of your appointment because they know clients have many purchasing options. Most of the time I purchase my eyewear directly through them, sometimes I cannot. I appreciate that the staff does not try to upsell on every little thing.

Great team at Sierra Optometry! The relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff make it a pleasure to visit. I recently had a routine eye exam. Not only did Dr. Hansen explain in detail any eye issues, he also alerted me to potential future concerns. The office staff is great re getting the most for your buck. I also appreciate the competent and friendly staff that did the pre exam testing for glaucoma, etc. I've been a Sierra Optometry patient for 22 years. It's really nice knowing some things don't change.

I've been going to Sierra Optometry for about 20 years, there's a reason why. I've had appointments with both of the optometrists there and both are fantastic. They tell you what they're doing and give explanation why. Both are very on top of my diabetes as diabetes plays a huge part in the eyes (or visa-versa). Both are very professional, personable and, as you would expect, very knowledgeable. The rest of the staff there are equally as wonderful. After 20 years, I still won't go anywhere else.

This is our second visit with Sierra Optometry Center. We really felt comfortable going there. The entire staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. They were very patient with us as we looked for our frames. They opened up cases, several times, answered many questions. Took the time to explain the cost breakdown. Plus they alerted me several days before my appointment that I had two coverages but there was a error with one of them. I took care of the error and was able to use both coverages in time for my appointment. Dr. Hanson was a pleasure to do business with. He never rushed my time, he explained everything to me. Took the time to show me the difference between my old prescription and my new one. Also I loved the fact that I received e:mails and text messages regarding my appointment. Great idea.

The office was clean and quiet, the staff were attentive and always willing to help or answer questions. I saw the Doctor in a short time, after tests by the staff. The Doctor was professional though quite caring and personal. I was informed of the status at all times and the results of my exam. I was not pressured to get new lenses, just told the results and let me make my decision. My exam was completed and I was led to the staff where I could select new glasses, since that was my decision. A great experience!

What a great experience to visit Sierra Optometry Center for the first time and meet Dr. Hanson and crew. He is really thorough and took lots of time to explain all aspects of the optical field and how my vision deviated from 20/20. He showed me the difference between what I see with my current glasses and what the new ones will look like. No Optometrist has ever done that. He is a complete professional and I was really impressed. Same with my husband who visited a week earlier. The office staff are so professional and competent, I can't say enough positive things. I have never met a doctor who is so personable and just simply a kind wonderful man. He cares so much and took the extra time to make sure all my needs were met. I met him when my husband got a piece of metal in his eye on a weekend. I called never being there before and he personally answered our call and left his event that he was attending to meet us at the office and remove the metal splinter and prescribed us drops. He sent us on our way with a sweet smile and asked that we pay it forward when we are given the opportunity. I cried leaving there with such a joy in my heart! He is amazing!! He is our new eye doctor now and I recommend him to everyone!!

First I would like to say I have always appreciated everyone that works at Sierra optometry center. The front office staff have always been courteous, polite and very helpful. Thank you. However, during my last visit something seemed off with the doctor and I actually mentioned this to my wife last night. I told here I wasn’t sure if I would be returning there in the future. I’m not sure if it was a bad day, the virus situation or something else, but It seemed I was told more about the virus than my own eyes. I understand the concerns people have towards the virus and appreciate different views, but not to the point of being scolded. I think the virus is such a distraction it has overflowed into the basic foundation of service making for confusion as witnessed when I was ordering new eye glasses. In short, the doctor seemed distracted and it showed.

Monday morning marked my first experience with Dr. Dennis Hanson, and made me glad to have chosen his practice. There was hardly any waiting while in the office, and Dr. Hansen's experience and expertise, balanced with his genial manner, was apparent as soon as he entered the room. In a thorough yet concise examination, he showed himself an expert in his field and also familiar with tangential health issues (in my case, rosacea). Best office ever. They are from booking the appointment, reception, pre exam, doctor exam to purchasing glasses extremely helpful, informative and thorough. Once you have your glasses they will repair and adjust glasses with just a walk in or dropping them off. This was my first eye exam in a long while and I am so happy I chose to come to this office! I brought my kids here while they were growing up and it was always a good experience. Everyone here is so nice and everything was explained the whole way through. The scrip I needed was for readers and the Dr told me if I was comfortable with over the counter pair, then she didn't see why I should spend the extra money if I didn't want to! I will tell you my husband recently went to the big chain store that ends with "world" and they worked so fast that before we knew it we were swiping our card to the tune of $700+ and were left wondering what the heck just happened! I love that I didn't feel judged or pressured to spend money. I felt like they truly cared about my well being! They also worked with me and my insurance to get me the best price for my visit. (I don't really have vision coverage) To top it all off, they offered to check my husband glasses to make sure they didn't need adjusting and if they did, they would do it for no charge. To sum it up, from my first call to the moment I walked out the door I got top rate service with that wonderful small town Auburn feel. Choose Sierra Optometry, you won't be sorry!

Despite being told to wear masks for our appointment and that everyone else including employee's would be wearing masks, people were coming and going without masks, masks not covering there noses, including two of the staff with masks off, one of which was wandering around the waiting room and the other behind the desk. I personally called several people out for not or how they were wearing there masks including the employee in the waiting room who said oh i'm sorry I forgot. I did not feel safe and with the laxness of requiring masks I felt I could not really rely on the sanitary protections of the the patients rooms and I will not return even if the covid subsides. I was basically told to leave when I questioned a customer about their mask.

Hi, I just had my annual eye exam a couple of days ago. I have to say that Dr. Hanson is a terrific doctor. He is always very informative about the current state of my vision and thoroughly answers all of my questions. I have a sense that Dr. Hanson really cares about his patients and this message comes through loud and clear. I don't know the name of the technician who began the exam process but I found her to be very polite and professional. I also enjoyed speaking with the receptionists who were also very capable and outgoing. In short I can't think of a thing that I would change about my experience!

I'll always come back to this office. Very down to earth, no oversell on the frames and they have a good amount to choose from. They swapped out my nose pads from my old glasses, making a night and day difference. I can actually wear them all day now. No extra charge and took the immediacy out of needing to get a new pair of glasses right away. Now I can take my time and get a pair thats right for me. They didn't have to do that, it wasn't in their best interest, it was for mine! Thank you so much.

I've been going to Sierra Optometry for about 20 years. The staff here are courteous. Dr. Hanson is fantastic. Being diabetic, he explains the things that he is looking for and why it's so important (your eyes have a lot to do with diabetes!) He is very personable and truly knows his business. Thank you for seeing me immediately upon my eye injury. Staff was very responsive and had the doctor look at me immediately. Thank goodness. My eye seems great today. I appreciate the service given.

Everytime I have visited, I have learned something new about my eyesight, the science of astigmatism and its effects, and been made to feel cared for by the entire staff. Excellent overall!

I am very pleased with the thoroughness and time spent by Dr Hanson in my eye exam. And after the exam his staff was very pleased with his support staff in helping me choose my frame and lens and keeping it within my budget.

We went to Sierra Optometry for a second opinion and we had a wonderful experience compared to our first. Everyone was very helpful and made my daughter feel very comfortable. They didn't make me feel obligated to purchase from them which was relaxing. And they also helped me with some insurance issues I was having because of our first visit which saved me some $$ and that is always nice :) The Dr. was very knowledgeable and explained everything and then some so we walked out feeling really good and didn't have any questions. Really great experience. We will be staying with them for life :)

We’ve been seeing Dr. Hanson for a few years now. My daughter accidentally caught a pencil in the eye, so we first saw him due to that accident. He referred us to a specialist, but we continue to see him for exams, eyeglasses and contacts. He has a very helpful and professional staff and he’s a good communicator throughout the exam. There are a good variety of frames to choose from, so it’s a full service practice with a small town, personable feel.
