According to your desk person you stopped taking Sutter Insurance as of March 1st. I was not notified until I showed up to my appointment. Since my insurance was no longer taken the appointment was cancelled by Granite Bay Dermatology and Laser Center as they now required a complete out of pocket payment.

My first visit was with a P.A. who diagnosed skin tags and seborrheic dermatoses. Because insurance does not pay to remove these, I asked about the cost. They will freeze up to 15 lesions with liquid nitrogen for $200. I had it done and will return for an annual skin check. Very new-looking, clean office with helpful staff. Only downsides are 1) I had to book out 7 weeks instead of 6 because that was her first available appointment, and 2) only the physician does cosmetic treatments, and he is booked for a long time.

Hello, My appointment was at 11:30, but I was not seen until 12. I thought of a question after I left the appointment—and I called soon after leaving the office. The recommendation had been for 3+ sessions of full face IPL. I'm a teacher on a budget and was wondering if it was possible to just target cheeks/nose and wanted to know about other options. I was promised a call back, but I have not received one.

New office (to me) looks awesome! Very clean and organized! Had to wait longer than expected, especially since I had to do paperwork as a new patient (well, patient who hasn't been seen at the practice in several years). In today's technology world, that all can be done online, somehow and before I showed up (reducing my wait time). I wish I was given paperwork about what the PA described to me (e.g. the type of moles I have and the type of procedure he advised). The PA was thorough and did describe the different moles I have however, I didn't have anything to write with or understand everything he said. This should be a part of a information packet to give to the patient so they can make informed decisions about next steps.

Very disappointed - The front desk staff was nice and efficient - the MA who took me back was friendly... at first... I filled out 6 pages of information and she asked me the same questions. When it got to the meds I took, I told her Omneprazole. She said there was no such med in the system. I explained it was the generic version of Prilozec - used to treat acid reflux.. She looked 4 times and kept telling me there was no such medication in the system.. then she asked me 5 times to spell it...which I did. I was very surprised she had no idea about it.. Then, she gave me a short paper top and a thin white paper sheet to cover my bottom half and was told to change and the PA would be in soon. Very uncomfortable, then the PA came in (a man) - talk about embarassing and uncomfortable - never met him...not a great way to conduct this exam... Next, when the PA came in, (the MA must have made negative comments because the PA was very defensive, trying to tell me the MA was his wonderful assistant... the PA did a decent job of checking my moles, but please.. order the single gowns with the open in the back... awful what they make you where for a mole check. Next, I left with a RX the PA was supposed to call in for me.... My appointment was last Monday... Thursday night (tonight), it has not been called in, even though I called their office Tuesday to check on it and was assured someone would call it in.... Lastly, the only other papers I was given to promote buying one of their neck creams for sagging skin.... $105....maybe not.. i felt awful when I left there.. Extremely poor experience and follow up! But I'll give the front desk staff an "A"

After waiting months to get into see a provider, I just had my first appointment. The provider I saw was very nice, he ordered some labs and asked me to schedule a follow up appointment so we can begin to find the root of the issue I'm dealing with. I went to reboot at the front desk and they told me that they could not help me because they weren't recontracting with Sutter. I feel it was a total waste of time and my $90. I was turned away and wasn't even asked if I would still like to rebook outside of insurance. Why wasn't I contacted prior to my appointment? The front desk took my $90 never let me know that I would not be able to return. I understand things change with contracts, however I should have been told this before the appointment and before this company took my money.

I recently had an appointment with Mike at Granite Bay Dermatology and I found it to be a comfortable setting. They were running about 7 minutes late which in my impatient life, frustrates me but it was only 7 minutes. Mike is awesome and made me feel comfortable at all times. I was having a full body exam to see if I had anything that was concerning. At 71, he felt my skin was excellent!

This has to be the shortest skin exam ever! The front desk ladies were very pleasant and professional. Theresa, the assistant to Steve, was also very pleasant. Steve? Not sure. He rushed in and out like he was in a hurry. He removed a small pre-cancerous spot on my nose and said Theresa would give instructions on after care. I had 2 moles on back of my head, one is gone, but missed the other. It is still there! The skin test on my back was scanned in a matter of seconds. Hopefully there isn’t anything going on there.

As always, I had a complete body exam and an unusual spot was found on my lower left leg. It was biopsied and I an waiting for the results. My only concern was the fact that the biopsy area was covered by a single bandage. I walked from your clinic to California Backyards and before getting in their door, I noticed blood running down my leg and literally dripping into my flip-flop. Maybe two bandages would be better next time.

Love the office and the doctor/staff the reason I am giving 3 out of 5 stars is that my eyes and eyebrows are totally uneven. One side is high and the other side is droopy. This was the one dear I shared with the doctor was that i did not want droopy eyes. I have had that happen before and it was awful. My eyes are small enough as it is. Being uneven is really embarrassing to say the least.

There are very few health care providers that I have worked with that, comparatively, went to the lengths to get me an appointment for care so soon from my first contact. When I had a question after the procedure, the team responded to me the first day and after normal hours. Truly extraordinary in today's environment when most health care providers I have health with just seem overwhelmed and unable to adapt to the urgency of a situation. I had very high hopes for this practice as it had wonderful reviews online. However, my personal experience was very unsat. First, I had to wait for 45 minutes in the exam room before Dr. Hearth ever even showed up. I thought for sure the first thing he would offer would be an apology for his delay, but he offered up no such pleasantry. Rather, the first statement out of his mouth was, “so show me where you want Botox. Here?” And proceeded to point to his mouth area as if to indicate that I was there to receive Botox around my mouth. I was not there for that procedure at all, which made the shocking question all the more distasteful. I was merely there to get information on various types of anti-aging procedures and creams. Dr. Hearth would do well to improve his bedside manner because it’s very hard to trust a doctor that behaves so rudely to you. I will not be returning for this very reason.

I was disappointed in the exam by the PA. The visit was rushed which didn't give me time to change into a robe and the exam was quick and not thorough. Because I was fully clothed, it was impossible for him check my body, instead I pointed to a few spots that I questioned. He sprayed a "skin tag" on my back that was bothering me which is still there. I understand that I will be charged a co-pay for a follow-up visit to remove this; therefore please recommend an over-the-counter cream that will remedy this.

I was initially apprehensive seeing a new male PA for my annual skin evaluation. I really liked the previous PA. When Michael walked in I was immediately comfortable. He is professional yet caring and personable with a sense of humor. His exam was thorough and he addressed the areas about which I was concerned. Some feedback -- sorry if it's negative, I wasn't that happy with the experience. 1. When I set an appointment to see a doctor, I expect to see a doctor and not a PA. I've had PA's misdiagnose things before so it's not the same. I left feeling like someone who asked to see a car mechanic and who had a kid look at their car. I know a PA isn't a kid, but they're not a doctor either. 2. Sylvia Ortega was brusk at best. She took one look at my back and dismissed it as a "cyst." I asked her if she meant a "sebaceous cyst" and she said "yes." Zero bedside manner, near zero help. I asked her to look at my ear and she said, "it's a clogged pore and to ignore it." (insert eye-roll)... 3. Before the appointment I didn't receive the health history questionnaire so I call the office. By contrast to Ms. Ortega, Neva Chin was pleasant and helpful and went out of her way to help me through the process. Your other staff were friendly and helpful but Ms. Chin represents the gold standard of the service I'd hoped for. I know nobody wants to receive a negative review and I also know doing business is hard during Covid. As a business owner though, I also know I'd want to hear about it if one of my staff drove customers away so hopefully you find this message helpful.

I used to like a lot this facility. It helped me with my acne, but my last four visits made me feel stupid. I felt like the doctors did not let me ask questions. I went there because I had questions, not because I have money to throw away… She was one foot in the room and one out, I stayed 2 minutes all four times… I feel like they have no idea what they prescribed the previous times, they propose a laser treatment, that I have done before and they have stopped because it was making my melasma worse… I felt like they just wanted me to pay for the visit, and were not interested to help at all. If you are interested in buying what they are selling it is great, if not, you pay and leave…

PA didn't review H & P, rushed appointment, didn't inquire about allergies/medications/supplements. I have Porphyria Cutanea Tarda, a rare metabolic blood disorder! Prescribed "cream" without explanation that it was chemotherapy!! I felt rushed, dismissed and unheard.

I saw a physicians assistant. Biopsied one mole. The problem started with the nitrogen. He went to town on my face and I now have dime sized blisters all over my face. My past experiences with nitrogen freezing have never been like this. He also wanted to biopsy my third nipple even though I told him that many physicians in the past confirmed that it was a third nipple.

All of the staff were friendly and kind. When Dr. Mike came in he was friendly and listened to what I had to say. He looked at my issue and asked me a few pointed questions and made a treatment recommendation and asked if that worked for me. Its not often you get a doctor to get the patients buy-in. In addition to looking at the issue I had come in for he also looked at other skin conditions and asked me if he could do a biopsy right then and there. Dr. Mike and the nurse did everything they could to make me comfortable. The procedure was quick and easy and requested that I come back in in 3 months for a follow-up (biopsy results would be ready in less than a week). I would definitely recommend Granite Bay Dermatology to anyone I can with the level of service I received.
