I am so grateful that Dr. Bauer and his staff were able to see me for my medical issue within two hours. Dr Bauer knew exactly what the problem was, treated me and now I’m better. They have always been available and reliable. We are fortunate to have a great Dr. in the valley!

3rd time in a row where I have an issue here. The first two were with their limited hours and significant delays in getting my new eyeglasses as well as difficult time picking them up. This last visit the technician showed up late to my appointment. He also did not have access to most of the systems he needed to start my eye exam. The gentleman was incredible casual about his tardiness and spent time petting the dog when he walked in, instead of apologizing or getting to work. It's unfortunate that this is the only place nearby that accepts my insurance. Staff is polite but the ball is dropped when it comes to executing good service.

I had an urgent eye issue and needed new glasses quickly. Staff were not understanding, communicative, or particularly helpful. I came on two consecutive days and saw two different optometrists, who did not seem to have passed information about my situation between them. The front office staff did not remember me and could provide no confirmation of the status of my urgent order, even after three days. Because I doubted that I would receive my order in time, I ended up visiting another optometrist in the valley out of desperation. I got glasses (and far superior service, at comparative cost) from them in 24 hours. I will not be returning to Roaring Fork Vision.

Additionally, having an urgent eye issue can be scary and uncomfortable as vision is so crucial for day to day living. I had an eye emergency and the staff was able to accommodate me in less than two hours. The staff was extremely kind, professional and understanding of my pain and situation. The doctor was able to quickly figure out what was going on and accurately explain everything. Although the injury was not the best, the support from the office was wonderful. Thank you.

Everyone spoke loudly and clearly and was cheerful. In retrospect, though, just after sending a scan of my Medicare Card to the office because I do not typically carry it with me, for safety sake, I woke up to what I just did: Expose perhaps the most sensitive document I possess to possible internet hacking, and potential identity thief. I did call the office to say I had sent the scan. And mentioned my concern about the scan. I was told, not to worry, 'You are good.' I hope this will be the case. And I decided, after all not to lose too much sleep over it. But perhaps, with future patients who do not have their Medicare Card with them, I would suggest that the email idea be abandoned. And just ask the patient to bring the card in as soon as they can. Or, even better, determine the patient's age when they first call in for an appointment, ask if they have Medicare, and tell them they will need to bring their card with them when they come. A friend I met at Whole Foods just before coming over, told me that Medicare would cover part of the appointment. But it was too late to go back to Aspen, get my card, and then start out again. Also, I would like to have been given copies of the lens replacement orders, for my reference. I was under the impression, when I first called, that what I wanted done would be reasonably-enough affordable, in the range of about $200 or so. So, with copies of the orders, I will be able to better assure myself that I have done the right thing in spending a greater amount than expected. I will call to ask that copies be emailed to me. Thanks.

We paid for a full exam so my son could renew his prescription. When we went to a provider to get glasses and lenses, we were told that the prescription was only for glasses not lenses. I contacted the office and was told that the exam was not for lenses even though we discussed with the doctor he wanted lenses. Not sure what he would have done in addition to get a prescription for lenses. So now have to get another exam for a lenses prescription. Very disappointing!

While getting an annual eye exam is generally a painless exercise, I couldn't have been happier with my experience at Roaring Fork Vision. Rosa, who did the initial vision test, took pictures etc, was kind, caring, professional...all the great buzz words that you want to see associated with vision care apply to her. The same goes for Dr. Bauer; he is easy to talk to, happily answered all questions, and sure made it seem like he is passionate about the work he does. I will be a repeat patient.

I was surprised by your charge for contact lens fitting. Having worn contacts for 30 years, I'm not sure I need this service. Additionally, if you are planning to charge someone $55 for a service, it is a good idea to tell them about the charge before you begin. I felt more than a bit cheated by this and will likely not come back to you as a result.

I look forward to my vision screen every year. It means I get new glasses! I have been seeing Dr. Bauer for years. He is great! Unfortunately this time my experience with the gentleman who helps fit you with glasses was less than satisfactory. Upon completion of my appointment, I let Dr. Bauer and and the front desk person know that I would be looking for new glasses. The gentleman was with another customer- an older woman- and I was told I would have to wait. No problem. It gave me a chance to pick out some glasses. After about 10 minutes, he finished with the woman. Just as I was making my way to speak with him, a customer (middle aged gentleman) walked in the door and asked the front desk and glasses tech if someone could fix his glasses(without an appointment). They said sure and he took a seat at the glasses desk. This customer is saying things like "Wow- I didn't expect any one to see me this fast! Especially without an appointment". I am standing there incredulous- looking directly at the front desk woman like "Aren't you going to say something? I was next and had been waiting for at least 10 minutes". Nope, the gal the appointment was pushed aside. I then simply went to the front desk and asked for a copy of my prescription and paid my bill and left. I will be getting my glasses elsewhere. I really like Dr. Bauer and will return to him for my vision needs, but I won't be buying any glasses from this office due to my experience. I also won't be recommending this office to my friends and family...as I have done in the past.

The machine was not clean so I noted that and then it was clean. I didnt like the front desk calling in my prescription out loud in the waiting area. I was disappointed to be surprised by an additional $40 charge for a test I agreed to at the doctor's recommendation (photo of the back of my eye), but the doctor did not inform me of the additional $40 cost which was not included in the visit fee. I probably would have agreed to the test anyway, but I would have liked to know in advance that the cost was not included in the visit.

Dr. Owens is excellent. He answered my questions thoroughly and thoughtfully, carefully checked my eye health and prescription well, and helped me move to a better, safer regiment. He was a bit behind on his appointments, and seemed a bit rushed, but did not skimp on my exam or in patiently listening to and answering my concerns. The office staff were courteous and helpful, but most were new to the location and hadn't quite figured out where everything is. I expect this to improve as they get used to their new space. Overall experience was great. There's room for improvement, but I will be back.

Wish he would do things that I didn't want and were not covered by insurance. I didn't want contacts, the fitting I just had a few months ago and insurance didn't cover it, he did the fitting anyways costing me extra money.

I had something fall into my eye while working. I drove to the clinic and the receptionist got me right in to see the doctor within a few minutes. They called in a prescription for eye drops to the local pharmacy and applied my insurance to the bill. Very efficient service.
