Despite the Yelp reviews, I found this practice extremely helpful! I never think about my eyes unless there is a problem. There was ben she was extremely thorough and explained to me what was going on. Age has a way of sneaking up on you (if your lucky) and my eyes are giving me signs of aging. Sucks, but facts are facts. I definitely will go back. Did not try to put me into glasses for readers or contacts. Helped me address what was bothering me!

Dr Freidrich is amazing. The staff are wonderful. However every time I come in I’m told I have a past due bill for which I’ve never received a bill. The most recent bill is from 1 year ago and this was first I was hearing of it. My insurance paid it within 1 week of receipt last year. I have called the number provided by them to figure this issue out and left 2 messages and still have not heard back. I’m beginning to think I may need to change providers although the care and professionalism of the staff is above par.

The eye doctor (Dr. Fredrick) was unprofessional and rushed the appointment for my 11 yr old son as this was his first fitting for contacts. Twenty minutes into the examination she had made the comment that I needed to hurray and make a decision on the type of contacts because she had other patients waiting. My son even said that he felt rushed and pressured to quickly make decisions as she was speeding through the exam. On top of that I was charged $160 for the contact fitting and evaluation. Of which I had to pay $136 out of pocket. I will be contacting the office manager on the next business day to discuss.

The cost of my contact lens replacement was high. I understood the technology would be superior to prior prescriptions, and I knew the doctor came highly recommended. I suggest making sure the cost is understood near the beginning of the consultation, not at the end. My wait time was long, and that informed me the doctor was not rushing her patients, and she would not rush me. And she did not rush--yay!

I went here for my second eye exam in two months, after the first one told me that “the technology didn’t exist” to fit me for contacts, and after four visits for refits with them, each time leaving feeling that what they had got me in wouldn’t work. At Eye and Vision Care, however, the friendly staff and Dr Frederick worked with me, fitting me in three types during that same visit to ensure I left with contacts that would work. They then measured me and ordered a fourth rigid contact so that I could try them to see if they’d be the best option. I knew after leaving the fire place that there had to be options for me, and Dr Frederick id notified them without much trouble. Thanks!

I made an appointment this past Tuesday at 12:15 (as I was instructed to do). When I arrived I was told to take a seat and then was ignored for 30 minutes. When I asked the Owner/manager when my appointment would be honored, he told me that he was very busy and had to take care of all of his instore customers first. Then, why schedule appointments I asked him, and got no response other than he was sorry? I was previously frustrated when I went to the store on a Monday, found it closed and had to call the number to find out the operating hours. This was posted nowhere on the door. I have been a good client of this store, having spent several thousand dollars on prescription glasses over the years, and I like to support local businesses. But, their customer service is non-existent. I am prepared to take my business elsewhere.

Although reception and the doctor were courteous and professional. The associate who I met with at the end of my appointment about my new prescription was rude, abrasive, condescending. After explaining to him I had a hearing impairment he proceeded to yell at me talk to be as if I was incompetent. This was all done in from of other patience and staff. I informed both the doctor and reception I would not be returning, no apology for the disrespect I received, nothing. The turnover in doctors at this location is excessive. I've been going for years and I don't think I've met with the same doctor twice. I left the office crying. I called the appointment number spoke to someone about what happened and was told I would be given a call back well as of today 1 month later I have heard nothing.

This was my first visit to the Eye & Vision Care office in Haymarket. The staff and Dr. Jacqueline Fredrick were all both professional and very friendly and helpful. The doctor explained the photos of my eyes and tests that were done on my eyes. The doctor suggested prisms to help me use both eyes and let me try them out to see how they worked.

Poor Covid 19 precautions (counter girl had mask below nose while doing tests on me plus no pre- screening, no where to sit as no social distancing arrangements made available in waiting room). Wife and I had poor customer service issues but when I tried to tell manager, he was argumentative and dismissive of them. Doctor hard to understand, lack of good English skills. So bad had to walk out. Our vision check annually is supposed to be no charge but they charged us anyways, sounds like may be an unlawful billing practice (will be checking with my insurance company). Made email complaint to owner with no word back yet. I will be making AMA, Better Business Bureau, plus Attorney General complaint if owner fails to address issues with me within next 24 hours. Also not sure if the business put fees for my visit on my debit card, so I sent email to Owner to bill me if needed so we can discuss further.

I was very surprised by the price, especially afterwards when they charged me double for the exam becuase of my poor eye health. Perhaps that's simply how it's done, but that's absolutely rotten if you're trying to encourage people with bad eyesight to seek help. Intake was efficient and quick with appropriate validation of on-file information Wait time was under 3 minutes to go back Technician was courteous and professional Doctor was personable and took necessary time to discuss all aspects of the visit. No feeling of push to move it along. Post-Appointment discussions on Frames & Lenses explored options and considered financial impact in all recommendations... glasses are NOT cheap as we all know. Overall visit had no elements that I would call out as needing improvement. These days, THAT is rare - so Kudos to the Haymarket Team.

The personnel were very helpful and willing to go that mile making us feel special. Dr Golan was very willing to explain all aspects of the examination. The visit was beneficial to both my wife and me. We will return.
