Office scheduling error caused out of pocket cost The reason for this low rating is only because of the error in scheduling the office made which caused me to come into the office prior to a year after my previous exam causing me to pay out of pocket for their services. I do not wear glasses full time and only come in yearly for my standard check ups. This error was extremely problematic and costly to me. The office didn't provide any type of compensation.

On time, great service, very helpful. I liked the selection of frames they carry, offering a good range of quality brands. They use quality lenses. They reviewed my benefits thoroughly and gave me several options to consider. Thank you!

The staff is super helpful and personable. Not only were they super full kind and helpful in general but they even followed up. I forgot my phone and the person at the front desk made sure I was able to call and get ahold of someone to pick me up. The person helping me choose frames was so lively and personable.

Getting checked in was easy, appointment actually started 5 minutes early and Dr Bonnie Hoe was excellent - never felt rushed and she answered all of my questions/concerns.

I've already recommend your service. When I left my appointment I was hungry and went to Burma Bear for lunch and referred the owner to your office. He notice I was wearing the protective glasses from the dilation and mentioned he needed to find a doctor. I recommened Doctor Jessica Luu.

Very thorough exam. Dr Luu was great! She explained the reason for each part of the eye exam. Also explained the diagnosis for what I was experiencing with my eyes and vision.Staff was very friendly and helpful with selecting glasses. Great selection of frames.

I was looking for a LASIK consultation. Your site advertised a LASIK consultation, I confirmed with the scheduler that it was that kind of consultation, and ultimately it was just an eye exam where you fax my info to your affiliate. I will not return to a place with these deceptive practices.

I spent years not having a prescription that worked for me, but finally a friend referred me to Oakland Vision Center. They have given me the right prescription, excellent craftsmanship, and wonderful service every time since my first pair of glasses there.

It was easy to schedule my appointment and the appointment itself was really wonderful. From the second I walked in and was checked in, to the eye exam and discussion with Dr. Lam, and to picking out new frames with the optician, the appointment was professional, friendly, and fun! I highly recommend Oakland Vision Center!

Was fitted for contacts and was given a script for both. Staff was soooo nice, accommodating, and the doc gave me some tries and wanted me to test them out before she finalizes my contact script. I will always come here moving forward.

This was the 2nd time out of the 3 times that I have been to OVC that I have had to wait over 30 minutes for my appt to begin. The first time a few years ago was at least an hour. I try to be understanding because they seem to always be understaffed, but I had to move things around in my work schedule to accommodate the appt. During this visit, an assistant saw me waiting and decided to screen me and get me started. 5 minutes late, a frazzled optometrist took me in and sped through each of my eye tests. He seemed totally scattered and I didn't feel confident in the changes he made to my prescription honestly. After we were done, he moved me to the area to look at the frames and said someone will be right out to help me. I waited about 10 minutes with no one, so I went to find him and said you know what, I have to leave. He was incredibly apologetic and found someone to help me (because apparently the entire staff left for the day) and she was super nice and apologetic. At this point I was just tired of waiting, so I squared away with her and told her perhaps I would be back in to order new frames soon. Ultimately, I would let this slide if it was a one-off situation—but the first time I ever went, it was even worse. A very long wait in both the waiting room and in the exam room and then a frazzled person who said they wanted to leave, when I was looking at frames afterwards. If you can't accommodate end-of-day appointments with baseline patience and staff, don't offer them.

I had to wait about 2.5 weeks for my appointment. Check-in was quick and easy. My experience with Dr. Lam was outstanding. She was easy to meet with, professional, took time to explain and provide details. She tweaked my prescriptions and I am now enjoying my contacts much more than I had. I expect the same experience when my progressives arrive.

I had an appointment for 6/29/2021 at 4:00, but you lost it. Then, when you gave me the prescriptions for my glasses, it was incorrect. And, then when you responded to my e-mail, it was only about the first part of my request, and did not include anything about the prescriptions for my glasses.

I highly recommend Oakland Vision Center! I have been a patient for about 15 years and I have always had professional and top notch service. I trust the medical staff so much that now my daughter is a patient. Everyone from the staff to the doctors is friendly, helpful and provide excellent customer service.

I've been going to Oakland Vision Center ever since Dr. Gill took over the practice, many years ago. She and the rest of her staff are top-notch. Super customer service oriented, with loads of expertise. I have referred many people to them over the years. Would never go anywhere else!

I’m pretty sure they had the wrong chart in front of them for me. All data that was pulled and discussed from prior visit didn’t pertain to me at all. A repeat thorough eye exam was not performed.

Dr Gill and her staff are just the best. I couldn't dream of going anywhere else for my eye care. They're knowledgeable, attentive listeners who aren't shy about voicing an opinion when appropriate. I can explain what's going on with my eyes and my glasses and they immediately understand. The selection of frames available is always fresh and covers everything from funky or trendy to classic. I love them.

I recently had my first visit with Oakland Vision Center (OVC), and am very pleased with the help I received. I did not wait more than 5-10 min to be seen. Their COVID protocols and pretty solid, and was very communicative and easy to reach leading up to my first appointment. Dr. Lam asked me a bunch of questions, was very attentive, and even provided with me information about my eyes that I have never received from another doctor! I am confident that my eyes will be in the best care and health under OVC's care. I then received help from one of the Opticians,Kenisha, who was absolutely awesome. Very friendly, very helpful in just about very way, and I walked away very pleased about my time at OVC. Would highly recommend to anyone needing to find a new Optometrist.

Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and kind I had lots of questions about the exams that were given. The doctor gave me reassurance in her explanations. Every step was given with patience and kindness. The doctor frequently reassured that everything needed to be sanitized and cleaned. I highly recommend going to Oakland vision center for your needs.

The only item that I would recommend. If you have an appointment at 2:30 and the staff goes to lunch and is back right at 2:30 then the generic email shouldn't say to come 15 minutes ahead of your appointment. I waited outside for about 10 minutes not knowing the staff were at lunch or what was going on.
