Appointment was at 9 but they didn’t even open until 9. One of the employees didn’t show up until after 9:30. Whole thing was a fiasco as parents could not be seen until initial procedures were completed by late employee. Doctor says I need a mild prescription but doesn’t tell me my numbers. Pushes me to get glasses. Total sales gimmick. Charged me random prices and I have no invoice or knowledge on what was paid for. I called to cancel this and they said no refunds only store credit, absolutely ridiculous considering I no idea what they charged me for. Lady became very rude after and swore she told me and never made me feel uncomfortable. She ended hanging up on after I wanted to speak to her higher up. Based on other review this is common practice for them. Very shady business overall

Dr. Orlando Guiang Is exceptional. He explains everything in language you can understand and doesn’t try to sell you on anything. Highly recommend. The gentleman who did the prep test on my eyes was also calm natured and nice. Plus when it was time to select my glasses, Selena selected the perfect pair and I had not planned on buying anything. She was fantastic! Thank you.

It wasn't disclosure to me that I have to pay $49.xx. I ask during phone appointment that I would like to have a service with copay of $10.00. At the office, it wasn't disclosure to me that I need to pay additional $39.xx. I sked to pay before service. I was told to pay after service, when I got surprise bill of $49.xx. I don't complain about office clerk. She is nice with good attitude. 3 stars: Medical work is excellent 5 of 5. Clark is nice and sweet, 5 of 5. Payment is not disclosure before work, 1 of 5.

I’m a new patient at this location. One major difference between this office and my previous one was the staff’s welcoming environment. The young receptionist (didn’t catch her name) with short hair and nose piercing was super helpful and patient. I appreciated the help of Elmer and Selena as well! I highly recommend anyone to go to this office.

I was displeased with the staff not letting me know they were no longer in my network until I arrived for my appointment. The clerk also set me up to get a retinal exam without asking me first - this exam is optional for an additional fee. With regards to the actual exam, the assistant was friendly and Dr. Guiang was very nice and informative.

I already spoke to doctor regarding my concern, but would like to reiterate it here: with the new setup of having the waiting patients seated in the hallway, they are within earshot of the patient rooms and can hear every word being said within. The lack of patient privacy is very worrying and I hope the matter will be rectified immediately. Other than this issue, staff and doctors are amazing!

Initially, I wanted to go to the optometrist at MCAS Miramar, because of the usually cheaper prices and no taxes. But, they would not take my civilian insurance. So, I decided to look around the local area and found this place, whom would take my insurance and had great prices in contrast to several other local businesses I looked up. I got to say everything from top to bottom was fast, friendly, and professional. The staff is great and I will surely keep coming here for all of my eyeglass needs.

I would like to compliment the customer service individual (I think his name was Juan?) who helped me get my new frames. He was incredibly kind, helpful, and gave me a breakdown of the costs. It was disappointing to find out only after I came in an received my eye exam that they no longer take my VSP allowance for frames and lens'. They apparently use a new processor for the insurance and I wished this would of been relayed when I scheduled for the appointment. When explaining this to me they were short and vague with their explanation. For being a family oriented business I would of hoped that they'd have a better understanding on how this kinda monetary surprise could have an effect on a family. Other than this disappointment the doctor was excellent as always and thorough with his exam and explanations.

The staff was amazing. Everyone was friendly and the office was very clean. They checked my temperature before entering as a Covid procedure and had me use hand sanitizer. I appreciate that they were so clean and had a certain protocol to follow. The optometrist was also very knowledgeable and friendly during my exam. She gave me a lot of information and answered all my questions. I had another optometrist, Maggie, also help me pick out my frames too. Dr. Blanc was very personable, easy to speak to, and described clinical situations in super easy-to-understand layman's terms. I don't often write reviews as I usually don't have time but thought I should in this case. For a routine eye exam that I'm typically indifferent to (they are neither good nor bad), this exam was actually enjoyable and fun--relatively speaking . . . I mean if I had a choice between this eye exam and the going to the beach, I'd still pick the beach--but I think you get the idea.

Great first time visit! I chose this office to have a check up for my eyes after reading some great reviews! The office is very close to my home and in a very central part of Mira Mesa. The staff greeted me right away and got me started on paperwork, and once that was finished, the initial eye exams went smooth with the assistant explaining each procedure throughly. Not long after the basic check ups, I was seen by Dr. Cheng immediately. She was very friendly and asked lots of questions about my previous eye care to get a sense of what I’m comfortable with. She was very knowledgeable and made sure she could help me in the best way to improve my vision. She also gave lots of good advice for protecting my eyes as well as maintaining good eye health while using glasses and contacts. She took her time with the eye exam, ensuring I could see clearly. Felt very good about my eye exams after talking with Dr. Cheng, thankfully my eyes are in good health! The assistance I got afterwards in choosing my new glasses frames was great as well, they made sure to explain the material and costs of the frames I was getting, and also recommended what would best fit my face. Definitely glad to have chosen this optometrist, will be glad to come back for further check ups!

I was SO impressed with Mira Mesa Optometry from the moment I walked in. I was greeted, given paperwork and explained what to expect, ie - staff would be with me shortly, etc. The technicians who greeted me were informative and wiped down the equipment while I was there. It was my first time here at Mira Mesa Optometry after my friends recommended them, and I couldn't have been more glad to have chosen this practice. Everyone is extremely nice and patient, and were all very welcoming. Although they were all polite, they didn't beat around the bush and waste your time like some practices do - they were super efficient in their work and got me in and out of my appointment as quickly as possible. I received a very different prescription for my contact lens as my eyes are usually the same level, but Dr. Georgina Blanc graciously offered me samples to try out lenses to see if I liked this particular prescription before documenting it. The entire staff was very knowledgeable and were able to answer any of my concerns or questions that got brought up. Would definitely recommend this practice to any one looking for a new Optometrist.

The doctor was very friendly and wanted to make sure she got all my measurements correctly, so it made me more confident in my appointment. I've been a patient at Mira Mesa Optometry for about 4 years. The office staff is exceptional when it comes to friendliness and efficiency with scheduling, payment and ordering contacts. Dr. G. shows care and concern for my eye health while efficiently completing the exam and contact fitting. I appreciate the kindness I receive from Dr. Orlando Guiang and his staff. He is very knowledgeable in this field of work. One night I had an eye injury, something ripped inside my eye. The next day i made an appointment to be seen by Dr. Guiang. He examined my eye saw i needed care beyond his ability and services. He made a same day emergency appointment for me to go to my main medical group eye specialist. They sealed the rip and my eye is fine, so i am very grateful for dr. Dr. G. and his staff are very skilled professionals, they take their time to explain every facet of your visit. Dr. G listens to what you are saying and is very detail oriented. I have been visiting this office for many years and I have learned a great deal about my vision and how the eyes function. I feel this team is very compassionate about my visit and guides me from begging to end. Camy is very friendly and thorough at fitting frames and lenses. She heated the templates to mold them to fit perfectly to my face/ears. Bryanna did a great job on my last visit of getting me pretested and while I know she is new, (because I have never seen her before), she seemed to know exactly what to do and handled my visit like a long term professional.

Dr. Blanc is always wonderful and thoughtful with her sessions with me. She has great " bed side manner" as some doctors would say. However, my entire experience was less than perfect due to the long wait and difficulty in scheduling prior to my appointment. i had been a patient here previously and gotten my lasik through their referral, needless to say I am happy with the doctor. Though my experience with the front desk staff (Kami? )aren't always great. I made an appointment online for one of the available spots and received a follow up email telling me that it actually isn't available. the staff asked if I could do an earlier time like 11am, I emailed replied and said no i cant do 11, I'd need a later time, between 12 -1. and moments later the reply I got was " great I scheduled you for 11am". To imagine my surprise to see that reply after saying no i can't just go in at the time YOU chose for me. The communication was definitely frustrating to say the least. I had to email again after my reply asking to clarify. Not sure if this is an issue of their system or simply careless staff. This was not the only incident, when i returned to MM Optometry from having different insurance, I had the hardest time getting the staffer to work with in me locating my new insurance. I know these are all nice people, but this is all quite unnecessarily frustrating, especially if you try to get a quick routine exam during your hr lunch break. if it wasn't for Dr.Blanc, I really would not stay with MM. I do hope this issue will work out with more training for the front desk staff.

I have been a longtime patient at Mira Mesa Optometry. I have had nothing but great experiences, including my latest. I arrived early checked in and noticed it was a little more busy than usual, but I waited my turn to be called. I was greeted by one of the technicians and later seen by my regular Dr. The staff had apologized profusely because of the wait. They happened to be "short staffed that day!" But I kept my self busy by looking at glasses to purchase. By the time I was complete with my exam, I walked right over and choose the glasses I wanted to change into after many years of wearing contacts. Once again the technician on the floor that helped me size and choose the options for my glasses, was very helpful and patient as this was a rather large purchase, even after my insurance! Keep up the good work team!

Great service. Dr. Guiang had a very comforting demeanor. He was knowledgable and and honest. Explained my diagnosis and why he prescribed the medication for my particular case. He gave me easy, clear and concise instructions on how to use the medication. He insisted on several follow up visits to monitor my condition. Considering this was my first time getting an eye exam and my first set of glasses outside of my typical military optometrist, I had a great experience here. It felt like I was in a La Jolla type-of elegant, first class service, but within this charming strip mall in Mira Mesa. The tech who was working with me was inexperienced and had me waiting longer than necessary. The staff and doctor was nice, friendly and professional. They made me feel welcome and comfortable especially with it being my first visit. The doctor was very knowledgeable, answered all my questions, showed and explained everything to me. Everything from the exam to picking out the right frames for me was simple and easy. One tip, call in for an appointment because they are usually booked up for the day. Also if you are a new patient, go to their website and download, print and file out form before your appointment.

Everyone is so friendly from the moment you enter 'til the moment you leave. Dr Guiang (sp?) is so thorough doing the examination(s), is very knowledgeable in his field, and is patient and takes the time to answer all questions. He has an easy-going, relaxed personality that makes you feel comfortable and safe during your exam(s). He's also really nice to look at, has a magnificent smile and, in my opinion, if photography is one of his hobbies - he is an excellent photographer.

Itz always a positive n delight pleasure to have this shop around for almost 2 decades n going strong! I love how itz a convenient location n that an annual eye exam is required. That is important n more reasons to stay connected! Keep up the great work. Maybe add a flatscreen television would b nice to watch the news. Thanks! :-)

I liked very much that I was greeted right away by the staff, and they knew I was coming. Although this was a follow-up survey to "correct" the blurry prescription of my glasses and to assuage my worries about my contacts, it impressed me that Dr. Guiang and his staff wanted to make it up to me by giving me top rate service. Thank you for caring, and not dismissing it as something that cannot be done because it was too late to do anything about it.

i was having problem with my rx glasses but with Dr. Giuang's effort to try to explain the root and cause of my difficulty in adjusting with the new pair, helped me to understand what my problem was, the status of my vision which I didnt know, instead of merely telling the clients that there was nothing wrong with the rx glasses. Office is located near many stores, so you can get multiple things done in one trip. (CVS, Vons supermarket, Dollar Tree, Marshall's, Kohl's, Bed Bath & Beyond, bakery, and numerous food & beverage options) I saw Dr Blanc this year, and Dr Guiang in the past -- both are clear with their descriptions, and very friendly. Front office staff also nice and efficient. My Rx did not change from the prior year, and nobody pressured me to buy more glasses (although I am eligible for a new set using employment benefit). Seems like a sincere operation. Thanks.

conversations unprofessional. Unclear who does what when u walk in- who's in charge. Not visually clear. You write it down and people talk loud wanting your name- I am writing it down- but she wants to blast the room with my name. Tech- impersonal and snippy. Perhaps that wha she thinks professionalism is. She asked "When was last appt" I don't k ow I said - well don't you know about when it was. I said you have the computer. She said - it's outside. No wonder no one keeps track of details- I got the e-mail reminder worded rudely- you are late -call for appt. Tone is wrong. But it matched her tone. In fact it had been 14 months because I quit coming to the office last year after I called to ask about using same frames- again it was snippy. But, because Dr took care of my Mom, I chose to return for this visit. I told him so. I don know if it's cultural or what. But, I hope appropriate changes occur in re-training.

It's my first visit and did not find anything to complain about. It's neat and clean. Filling registration form took time for me as it was the first visit. Rest were all taken care very well. The staff were helpful. The doctor is practical and not money minded. Appreciate that.

The staff was very nice, although I felt kind of rushed when I was asked to go through "the machines." Cami was great in helping me pick out frames styles that would work for my prescription, face shape, etc. and was nice enough to write up estimates of how much the lens and frames would cost. She helped me estimate how much I would need to spend. Dr. Guiang explained in very simple terms what was going on with my eyes and offered alternative solutions to my eye challenges.
