I've been with Dr. Gordan for many many many years. Every time I walk into Milpitas Optometric, I am welcomed with a smile. The gal who took me in to do the vision tests was awesome. My time with Dr. Gordan was excellent and she patiently answered all my questions. I went into the glasses store and met with another uber gal who helped me pick out my new glasses. As usual it was an incredible visit. Thanks, everyone!

Due to an unpredictable work travel, I typically have to reschedule multiple times but I never feel like I am an inconvenience when I call to make the change. I love my optometrist, however the staff at the front desk and lady that took me back were cold during my last appointment. They did not even crack a smile. I tried making small talk and got nothing...even complimented the lady checking me out on her glasses. Not even a thank you. So much for customer service. I felt so bad I thought about not returning, but I really like my optometrist. Plus there may be a whole new staff in 2 years.

I trust Dr. Pham. Previous eye doctors, from other offices, prescribed glasses that were unusable. Just plain awful lenses. Dr. Pham only prescribed what I truly needed and the glasses were perfect. She allows me to use OTC reading glasses which saves me money and these do the job needed. Dr. Pham is one of those doctors I hope to keep for a long time. Plus her staff is excellent also. Plenty of people to help and they are all pleasant and helpful.

Lack of knowledge and the unwillingness to find out about what the VSP program offers is a huge deficit. How could a representative not know about the rebate when asked, he would say there is no such thing. If you don't know, say you don't know. When serving customers, ignorance is a huge liability. I was turned off by the rep who doesn't have the knowledge. Also, I had to wait there for at least 30 minutes before being seen by the optometrist. I will not come back.

This was my first appointment after being referred to Dr. Lee by two colleagues who see him for their optometry needs. I couldn't be happier about my visit. I interacted with at least six people on staff and every single one were professional, friendly, and excellent communicators. I really came away with an indepth knowledge of my eye health and what to do to keep my eyes in good health for the years to come. They had state of the art equipment that I hadn't seen before that really helps ensure a thorough examination and precise accurate vision prescription. Dr. Lee took the time to get to know me as a person and visa versa, as well as giving me a thorough examination and discussion on my eye health. It's also one-stop shopping for frames, lenses, and other vision items. I told my wife at the end of the appointment, "We've found our optometrist! For now, and for the future."

I came ONLY to get my vision checked and they added a $60 contact lense check which I didn’t even ask for I only wanted to know my vision number and buy the lenses are elsewhere. But got charged a total of $80 so annoying felt like creating such a scene!

Hi Esha, I understand your frustration but you got a glasses eye exam and a contact evaluation. You can definitely order lenses else where but for you to get the prescription, there is a fee for a contact evaluation. Every year, you pay the evaluation but our prices went up this year and luckily you had a copay, which is $60. Once I asked them to check if my sunglasses gave me UV protection and the optometrist did right away. Parent review: I felt like her appointment was rushed . MD. Was in and out of the room pretty quickly, we actually waited longer than the exam itself. MD sounded overwhelmed maybe over booked ? or just rushing to get out of e office .my daughter’s eyes got dilated and I was sitting in the lobby but was never informed of their findings or results of her exam. I had my glasses adjusted and the female associate who helped me with the process wasn’t friendly at all. Didn’t asked me to try them on or to make sure the issue was fixed. She just did her thing handed me my glasses and turned away. I had my glasses adjusted to fix the issue but turned out making it worse.

I do not recommend this office. I planned my visit 3 weeks in advance talked to someone over the phone about my visit they looked at my profile and made an appointment. The person told me my prescription will expire in December of this year. When I got there I waited 35 minutes to be seen. Then the person went to my profile and told me that my prescription was expired and that he was very sorry about wasting my time and about the mistake, they made over the phone but they could not do anything because they were full. Great I will go somewhere else since they do not need more clients.

Milpitas Optometric Group was a very safe experience. Going to any place during a pandemic can feel uneasy, but Milpitas Optometric Group thoroughly wiped down all their equipments and all the chairs. After looking at frames, the clinic requires that you put all frames you touch into a tray so that they can thoroughly clean them after each patient. Both the experience of the exam and the experience of looking at frames made for a very comfortable and clean experience. Aside from the adjustments made during COVID-19, the practice has always been very good at explaining problems and answering al my questions. They're very informative and thorough with every part of the visit and exam. The staff is always professional and nice. I've been coming to the practice for over 10+ years!

My only concern is the level of sanitation after use of the equipment after each patient. I was surprised that the assistant just briefly cleaned the area that was going to be touched by my forehead. When I asked about how they clean the equipment, she mentioned that they do a real clean at the end of the day. When waiting in the exam room for the doctor to come in, I ended up cleaning the equipment myself since I was not comfortable on the level of cleanliness since I had to wait for a while.

I started going here way back when I worked in Milpitas, but I have continued using them in preference to a lot of more local optometry providers specifically because the Docs, fitting staff, and administrative folks are just so consistently good at what they do. And the prices are good too. I'd definitely recommend Milpitas Optometric.

My family has been coming here for 6 years. Dr. Lee is thorough and seeing him is like visiting a friend and catching up. The one thing I miss from my old optometrist office is the sense of being valued and important. MOG sees so many patients that the reception staff and optical staff don’t remember you even if you been going there for years. With 5 members in our family, we go multiple times a year between our visits and eye glass adjustments. I also think there’s opportunity for some of the staff to know to how to coordinate benefits when using two insurance or applying medical necessary contacts. Ordering glasses takes longer than the eye exam visit itself most time. There are a few that have been great over the years and a couple are probably no longer there- Ramina, Janelle and Richard.

Outstanding!! I called on a weekend evening after experiencing a weird vision issue, and was able to reach the doctor on call, amazing. She was super-reassuring after I described what was happening, which really helped with my worry level. I got an appointment the following morning for some scans to confirm all was OK, and I also got a great education in the anatomy of the eye and how aging typically affects it. I live far from the clinic, but it's so worth the drive!

However, during pandemic , I feel like the preparedness of the office is not safe enough. - More than 4 patients in waiting room Most medical office would have you wait in the car to wait to be called. - many staffs including optometrists only wore cloth masks. Isn’t there a guideline about medical staffs wearing medical masks? - only 20-30mins between appointment during this time make us wonder how the staffs have enough time to clean? Bottom line, I regret taking family there during pandemic. I don’t feel safe.

However, in the context of Covid-19, I have to confess not feeling safe there during last visit. I appreciate the incoming checks, the shields at the reception desk and the wide spaces in the waiting area with very few people. However, once I got into the examination areas, it felt like there were too many people (staff) and too close contact. Perhaps staff wearing face shields as well as masks during exams might be better, although I can see how it might be problematic for some exams by the doctor. Perhaps keeping small exam room door open might be safer, too. I'm glad I got my annual exam but I felt that I did put myself at some risk doing it.

A little more than a year ago I found Milpitas Optometric Group through reviews on Yelp and decided to give them a call. The staff scheduled an appointment for me that same weekend with Dr. Kavanagh. Dr. Kavanagh was very thorough and addressed my dry/red/allergy eye concerns as well as my ever growing too-strong prescription which I had been prescribed by other doctors over the past 15+ years. Fast forward to today and Dr. Kavanagh made sure to address everything from my first visit which he recalled as if it were yesterday. He made me feel like he cared about my eye health, comfort and personal preferences. The staff is also great. They've accommodated me every time I've called in or walked in whether it was to purchase contacts, try on glasses, request receipts, or make appointments. Extra stars for the steps they take to make sure their patients and staff are safe during the COVID19 pandemic!

This has been my optometrist for the last almost 10 years. The service is exceptional. Dr. Gordon is personable and explains everything to you in a way that is easy to understand. I’ve also used Dr.Pham and had the same kind of experience. The office staff are super friendly, from the receptionists to the staff that helps with picking out frames and sizing. Jessica and Shanice (sp) were sooo nice! We were having a hard time finding frames we liked and they helped with a few suggestions. Loved them all and landed on frames they pick and all within the insurance budget! Super score! Will continue to use as my optometrist indefinitely! 👏👍

The office if open during the pandemic. I went there and notice the following. Customers are not keeping their distance and staff do no say anything. Example, I was at the desk to make a payment and a lady just cut right in front of me to get hand sanitizer gel with 6 inches of me without even even warning me. The staff on the other side didn’t say anything. I think they can do a better job of wiping down the machines where you put your face and eye on. The wiping only was done before using machine and for only a few seconds before you put your chin and forehead there. They need to wipe down right afterward and let the disinfectant sit a bit to work (most need a few minutes to kill viruses). Bathroom could be improved to be more contactless such as sensing light switch. When a large family come together, it is hard to maintain distance, maybe limit people in waiting area or 2 family members at one time, not 4. Other than that, service is good and everyone wore masks.

Everyone from Dr. Susan Gordon to those who assist throughout the office are very friendly and professional. Came in for a pair of glasses when they first opened up during the Shelter-in-Place Phase 2 and they are making sure the office is safe to come to. They make sure the patients are healthy before coming through the door by taking temperatures and asking certain health and travel questions, they make sure social distancing is practiced, everyone wear masks, and they make sure all glasses from the cases are not put back before they are cleaned. I felt very safe!

Doctors here are good, competent, and provide excellent quality of service. On more than one occasion, I have had issues with the front office staff (by phone and in person), who can be unhelpful, impatient, and not very detail oriented. 4 stars as everyone is very professional and courteous. Clean practice especially it's still May 2020 COVID-19. But the only thing I didn't not appreciate so much is I have mentioned that I have two plans when I called the practice for appointment and I mentioned it again when I walked into the practice so they can either utilize or coordinate my benefits. However, I realized that they billed to my insurance company incorrectly which a bill I paid up front already. Also, they didn't explain how they bill or how they coordinate my plans well at first place. Furthermore, when I was about to use my remaining benefits somewhere else I found out they did it incorrectly so I had to spend extra amount of time to investigate what happened. I understand mistakes happen but definitely not enjoy wasting time on this when I already tried to prevent it. I would still visit the practice when I need to.
