Dr O'Gara always treats me very well. He is very calm and patient in working through my considerable dental issues. I can tell he cares about his patients and always explains the logic for treatment options. My wife and two daughters also have been patients for 10+ years.

Normally everything goes great on my visits, go in and get a cleaning. But this time after my cleaning I was told I needed a procedure then the next thing I knew I was sitting in the dentist chair. I never received an estimate of the charges and what it would cost me, like before. I get out to the front and I owed over $900 out of pocket! What if I didn't have the means to pay at that time??? I'm on furlough still, on unemployment, it was a shock to say the least!

I have some dental coverage on my health insurance. When checking out, the lady said my health insurance card wasn't in her computer. She billed me for $60 which I paid. I gave both health and dental cards to another lady when I turned in my paperwork. I made my appointment for 3D xray. $200 no insurance accepted. A heads up would have been nice.

I had a cleaning scheduled, but happened to chip my front tooth the week prior to my appointment. They squeezed me into the schedule to get both done that day....my front tooth is perfect - color, bite, and repaired! Thank you Dr. Mike O'Gara. I normally see Dr. Trisha O'Gara. Both are excellent! They always run on-time, are fairly priced and super friendly. I've been going there for 3 years now. Great choice for so many reasons!

Dr. O’Gara was one of the best dentists I have ever went to. He went above and beyond to make me comfortable during my procedures. He would continue to check in with me to see how I was doing and worked fast so I was not stuck there for a long time. He remembered details about me from our previous meeting and was super encouraging to me. I would highly recommend him to everyone.

Can you imagine telling yourself - you look forward to going to the dentist ? Well that thought never crossed my mind until I started using O’Gara Dental Care . Trisha O’Gara is the best dentist I have ever visited - a real professional who makes you feel comfortable before , during and after your appointment. I know it is difficult to believe but I actually look forward to my dental visits. I have been living in the Reno area 6 years now but have sat in dental chairs all across this country and for many years in Canada as well - and I must admit prior to O’Gara , everyone of those visits came with sweaty palms and some degree of anxiety. I can’t believe I am spending a few minutes writing about my dentist rather than a 5 star restaurant but that is how happy I am with O’Gara Dental Care . Jim Reaume

My experience is always a positive one at Dr. O'Gara's. The hygienist, Amanda, is always pleasant and gentle on these old teeth. Dr. O'Gara found an anomaly in my mouth, took pictures and sent them over to an oral surgeon to ask his opinion. Where else do you get such personal attention? There are not enough positive words to describe how awesome this office is.

I came to Dr. Ogara’s office without an appointment. He was shoveling snow from the walkway as it was before 7 am. I had broken a crown and was flying out the next day. Dr. Ogara took me into the dental chair and took a look. He took off the broken crown and put a temporary on until i can arrive back home, for which he will be putting on a new crown. I am so thankful that he helped me without an appointment.

Dr. O'Gara's staff are fantastic. Patty is a great dental hygienist who takes her time to make sure my teeth are clean and that my mouth and gums are healthy. Dr. Mike has the best bedside manner - you always feel comfortable and not apprehensive when major dental work has to occur. I will also say that he is probably the best shot giver - I never feel the needle!

No effort to minimize costs. $400 out of pocket for a teeth cleaning appointment is simply ridiculous. They knew my benefits were exhausted for this year, but chose to pad the bill with unnecessary x-rays and exam. I've been going to this dentist for over 15 years, and will not be returning.

Love your waiting room! Very roomy, comfortable, and easy access to a restroom. Thank you Dr. Michael O'Gara for not fighting my decision to get the dentures. I had the opposite experience at Reno Dentures, which is part of the reason I never returned to that business. My reason for choosing a doctor that performs the procedures that you specialize in is because I want dentures. Because I want the diseased teeth out, in hopes to better my health in the long run. It is too often that Dentists want to fix my cavities. And patients such as myself are too easily swayed to follow the Dentists advice. Even when the patient doesn't agree with the Dentists advice. I experienced resistance with my desire to pull the teeth out at Reno Dentures, and with Dr. Tony DePaoli in Sparks, Nevada. And it is for this reason that I no longer visit them for services.

Dr. O'gara and his wonderful staff graciously let me come in as a new patient for a same day emergency appointment. I was in so much pain and worried I wouldn't be able to find anyone on such late notice. Not only did they make it happen, but the doctor even stayed well past closing to take care of me. He didn't just do this for me one time, but THREE times in 2 weeks while we worked through a serious dental issue. He was so caring and patient with me through the entire process. I have pretty bad dental anxiety and he made me so comfortable and never made me feel like I was being a nuisance. His staff greeted me by name each time and made me feel welcome and cared for.. It's so hard to find that kind of care anywhere, much less a busy dental practice. The office is a little outdated but has everything that's needed. Makes me feel like my money goes towards the staff and not fancy high tech equipment and that's perfectly fine with me! One thing that stood out was how respectful the doctor was to his assistants. They seem to have a good relationship and that's awesome to see. I'm so grateful I decided to go there. I wish I had established care with them a long time ago!

Michael, your dental work was great. However, I should bring to your attention that your office staff did not do a good job. Ordinarily, I expect those ladies not just give me my bill and estimates of the suggested treatment, but also to advice me on the situation with my health insurance payments and how much coverage money left there BEFORE the service. This time, I found out that I maxed out on my insurance AFTER the appointment, so I had to pay a large portion of the bill out of pocket. My personal educated understanding is that my front teeth fillings were not urgent at all, and I would prefer not to do those until next July - if I have known in advance that I am going max out. One might say that I am supposed to keep track on the insurance payments and changes myself - well, in such a case I was extremely lucky with my first two dentists in Reno: their office staff ALWAYS kept me advised on those matters. Unfortunately, both doctors grew old and retired in their time - but I still have really good memories about them. Every one of us has to deal with plenty of problems and perform multiple tasks every day. It is hard for me to keep track on all those matters in detail. On the other hand, your staff has all that information in the database - and could retrieve it and advise me on the insurance money in a minute. So, I ordinarily expected such a courtesy from your office staff. Thank you very much for your attention to this matter.

Dental work ok, but financially worse than bad. I checked with my insurer afterwards. I was charged $60 for my cleaning and shouldn't have. I expect a full refund. Your staff said my insurance only covers preventative. Wrong. It pays 70 % for fillings etc. Plus if it only covers preventative, why did I have to.pay $60? Very dishonest. You should hang a sign outside that reads: highway robbers inside.

My first time with Dr. O'Gara was a very positive one. Everyone was very polite and pleasant. I don't like going to the dentist, but they made it a good experience. Dr. O'Gara himself was also very pleasant and took time to talk to me and explain anything that needed to be. He didn't seem rushed at all and and took his time with me which was nice for a change. Overall I would highly recommend Dr. O'Gara to anyone who asks.

I never post reviews but Dr. O'Gara and his crew deserve a good word. I've been going for years and my teeth are in much better shape than they were. Dr. O'Gara and attentive to patient comfort level and often pauses during procedures to ask how I am doing and will adjust appropriately. I have had very little pain even during root canals or other extensive work. In addition, in my case I have a few older crowns that have needed replacing a few times. Each time Dr. O'Gara has been conservative and saved the foundation of the tooth by building up a base over it after removing any decay. This is wonderful to me because I value keeping as much of my original teeth as I can to try and prevent more extensive future problems. Lastly all the staff I have met a friendly and courteous and I enjoy chatting with them. All around some of the best health care I've had. Tim H.

Regardless of how much I plan to spend, regardless of how much trouble my requests are, or how many times I change my appointment, it is extraordinary to find a professional that appears to live by this philosophy. This philosophy is not what has been advertised, but what I have consistently seen for a long, long, time. This philosophy comes with a cost to Dr. O'Gara, extra attention to detail, searching until he finds staff that is capable of demonstrating these requirements ALWAYS! If you want a junker, go somewhere else. If you want the best, go see the O'Gara family.
