I had been researching and looking for a local dentist in the area. I have extreme dental anxiety and wanted to make sure I chose the best dentist, for myself. I walked in to the office to meet the staff; I was blown away by the calm that I felt inside. I was greeted by Carol, who was Amazing and helped me feel welcome and safe, she said I came to the right place. I scheduled an appt and met Dr. Ellison, and Julie (dental assistant)...they were beyond great! He reassured me that he would help me conquer this fear, and explained and listened thoroughly. I have scheduled the next appointment, and feeling better, than the day I walked in.

I've been a patient of Dr. Ellison for a good 20 years, and honestly, I wouldn't dream of switching dental offices. The front desk crew is fantastic—they always welcome me by my first name, which adds a personal touch I really appreciate. The dental hygienists are incredibly sweet and patient during cleanings, making the whole process quick and painless. And of course, Dr. Ellison is not just a dentist but a friend. Super accommodating and always there for his patients. Highly recommended!

Not only does she do a great job of cleaning my teeth but I have also had help from her on the proper way to use my water pic. I had deep pockets some measuring 7, 8, and even a 9. I now have nothing over a 6 and only have two of those

I am so grateful for Dr. Ellison's dental practice. I have been coming to this office for over twenty years and every visit has been an excellent one. The staff is friendly, compassionate, efficient and organized. My visits always start on time. Their reminders regarding the appointment are timely and helpful. Dr. Ellison is an excellent dentist who provides great service and never over-sells any procedure, but provides important information regarding options and what I may need to plan for in the future. I give this office - 10 out of 10 regarding all categories of dental and patient care.

I called on Saturday because I had a bad toothache. They were closed but answered my call right away! Carol the office manager called Dr Ellison and got me pain meds to get me through the weekend. Monday morning called me and had me come in. I needed a root canal and scheduled me 2 days later for it. They went above and beyond helping me when I was experiencing such bad pain on the weekend when they are closed. They are all fabulous! I would highly recommend them ! Everyone in the office is extremely nice.

I was in genuine danger when I was referred to Dr. Ellison. I’m diabetic and required an immediate extraction and a referral to an oral surgeon. My A1c was dangerously elevated due to a root canal turned abscess and an open wound which wasn’t healing. Months later everything is fantastic! I’m enjoying my smile again, plus eating foods again I wasn’t able to eat for years after several new implants and crowns restored missing rear lower teeth and my ability to chew. Excellent care is Standing Operating Procedure and compassion a true blessing! I never wanted to visit any other dentist office before meet Dr. Ellison and the dedicated and friendly staff.

Thank you Dr. Ellison for taking care of my 90 year old dad and understanding our special circumstances. I trust your assessment and feel confident in Dad's care with you. For others reading this review - We chose Dr. Ellison over the dentist that dad's insurance assigned him. Dr. Ellison understood my concerns and verified that we didn't need several procedures (advised by the assigned dental office) that would have been "good" but not really "necessary" for my dad's situation. So, it is worth it to us to pay more for the necessary work without insurance coverage than for Dad to endure numerous visits and lengthy procedures, that are covered, if we see the assigned dentist.

Your Hygienist exclaim “there’s nothing for me to do” during your scheduled cleaning. Even better is graduating to “every 6 months” from 4 to help motivate this patient to perform proper care perfectly. I’ve never enjoyed such competence, compassion and genuine concern for my dental health, and I’ve had full restorative treatment including an emergency extraction, reworking root canals, posts and crowns, lower implants with crowns, and new upper denture. I’ve resumed eating foods I gave up years ago do to lost teeth and I’ll-fitting appliances. I lack the words to convey my gratitude.

His expertise is outstanding and his team is so caring, thoughtful and honest. They are always on time for the appointments and even waited for me when I was running late. Hi there .. Went in for a cleaning. Sarah was great as always. Very relaxed visit. However. I requested an estimate for two implants and was shocked at the numbers. There is no way I would pay that amount. I do know what is involved and thought the quote quite an insult. We are not in Beverly Hills. If this is a quote from the oral surgeon, then I would look for another one. Sorry for the long rant but this is how I feel. Thanx for listening. Ron Anthony.

During my six month cleaning, Dr. came in to visit, say hello and inquire about my upcoming implant surgery. Dr. then had an idea and asked me to stop at the desk before departing. Dr. realized he could finish the implant cap before my implant surgery, thus fully repairing my right side giving me the ability to use the new apparatus to eat post implant surgery. Still soft foods, but I’ll not be drinking my meals. I presumed Dr. would have both sides completed after healing. Dr. made a special effort to make my life better because he could. Staff was as just as accommodating in rectifying a minor problem which nearly interrupted Dr.’s plan. This kindness is what makes Dr. Ellison unique as a professional. Dentristy isn’t just “business” because I’m treated like family.

My dental worries were addressed and answered to my complete satisfaction. The cleaning of my teeth was completed without pain and felt I had clean teeth which really gave me a boost. I was treated like a member of the family. It's really a joy to see the friendly staff that's one of the reasons I go there about every four months, because I really feel they care about my teeth. May years ago I ask Dr. Ellison was it really necessary to brush every tooth? - - - Why of course not, he said, brush only the ones you want to keep. I personally think that makes perfect sense.

My family and I have been going to Dr. Ellison's Dental practice the past 25 plus years. Excellent practice and always smiling staff. I had such an amazing experience at Dr. Ellison's office. EVERYONE from the front office staff to the dental hygienist to Dr. Ellison were so friendly, professional and made me feel at home. Dr. Ellison was such a nice guy, I appreciated how detail oriented he was and he made me feel at ease. EVERYONE in the office was smiling and happy which is something I've never see in a Doctor's office. My husband told me that I wouldn't wait more than 5 minutes and I got to be honest...I didn't believe him but he was right. I sat for maybe 2 minutes in the waiting room and barely waited anywhere else. I also appreciated that someone from the staff would always update me on what I could expect next as far as my appointment went. I was so impressed by everything about my visit and cant wait for my next visit in 6 months. Thank you Dr. Ellison and staff. And by the way, my teeth feel amazing and I even got a comment today at work about how white they look. :) Thank you!

This review is very much overdue, about 17 years or so. 17 years is truly how long I have been seeing Dr. Ellison, and that in itself speaks for how much I value the outstanding dental care I receive in his office. I initially started seeing Dr. Ellison because his office was conveniently located next to my place of employment. Throughout the years, I changed jobs numerous times and in all honesty, I did make a few attempts to find a new dentist that was more conveniently located. After each attempt, I was deeply disappointed by the other dentists which never came close to Dr. Ellison, and despite the very lengthy drives I returned to Dr. Ellison’s office. It is only in his office that I experienced the best care possible, honest and compassionate, and never had to wait longer than a couple of minutes. His staff is always very professional, accommodating and really caring. I particularly love Karen who has also been my hygienist for 17 years and is always so diligent in her cleanings. You simply can’t find better dental care anywhere else and I will happily continue my 50 mile one-way drive to see Dr. Ellison. Thank you for taking such good care of my teeth and keeping my smile so bright!

We lost out insurance, had to get an HMO and could no longer see Dr. Ellison. The HMO dentist said a tooth under a 3 piece bridge cracked. I went back to Dr. Ellison to get a 2nd opinion on this bridge. The tooth was not in good shape to begin with but there was no choice to use it for the bridge anchor due loss of an adjacent tooth. I took a chance with it. Dr. Ellison took x-rays and examined and confirmed it was cracked. Dr. Ellison asked if I had some time because he wanted to cut the bridge and pull the tooth. Dr. Ellison and his tech, Cindy, made me comfortable and did the work. It wasn't simple but it was made easy. When it came time to pay, Dr. Ellison, he didn't charge for all this work! He didn't have to do that but it was much appreciated. p.s. - when he numbs you it can hardly be felt

I've had some really bad experiences with some dentists. I have a lot of anxiety therefore I avoid dental work at all cost. But because of that I had major problems with my teeth and tons of pain. I ended up going to a dentist here in simi and had a lot of work done and paid a lot of money. Unfortunately all of the work they did failed so naturally I was very hesitant about going back. I ended up going to a new dentist. Dr. Ellison's office. I just wish I had gone there in the first place. He immediately put me at ease and the whole office staff is so wonderful!!! I am not scared at all of Dr Ellison. He has done work on me and I'm still in the process of more work. I have so much appreciation for this office because they really listen to your concerns. Now I even take my kids there and they also love going there. I HIGHLY recommend this office if you need dental work done. It's the best decision I've made in regards to my teeth.

I couldn't make it to my grandmother's appointment but the dentist went into his office and called my cell phone so he could explain what was going on. I came to Dr. Ellison for a second opinion. The original dentist I went to told me I needed three crowns, seven fillings and a new mouthguard. Dr. Ellison let me know that most of this would be unnecessary and cut my original estimate in half from $1700 to $850. I was shocked. Going to see a dentist now is like taking your car to a mechanic. Who can you trust? I felt like I could trust Dr. Ellison and his staff after my first two visits.

I've been going to this dentist office for 29 years. Dr. Ellison is the best and his staff is always friendly. They are professional and give great service. The office is immaculate. I've referred Dr. Ellison to three people and they've all raved about their dental experience. Most people hate the dentist and I think that's because they haven't found the right dentist. I go twice a year for a cleaning and I've never had a cavity. It may be genetics, but I also attribute my cavity free smile to the treatment I get at this office.

I went in for my regular check up and found out I needed to have an old crown replaced soon or risk further decay of the tooth beneath it. I had to fly back to the West coast where I work in 48 hours. An appointment at 7 am the next day was arranged and the new crown was manufactured on site and fitted in 2 hours. Perfect and timely care.

I don't know how complicated billing insurance can be, but the only qualm I have with your office is not accepting HMOs. My husband isn't able to make appointments because he has limited insurance. If one day you accept HMOs I know many more people who would like to switch dentists.

The best! Had teeth cleaned,numbed, prepped for 3 veneers and fitted with temporaries in one visit. The temps look so good, not sure I want the real ones now! Very relaxing time...started to fall asleep during teeth cleaning. Can't beat that with a stick.

One suggestion, I had X-rays at my appointment and it would be nice if the technologist introduced herself (I don't remember her doing this). I do have to say, the X-ray technologist was VERY friendly and VERY considerate of my little mouth and the film that goes in it.I think she is new (maybe not) and is really an excellent fit for your friendly office staff.

Almost all of mine in the past were made by my previous dentist and he didn't even come close to what Cindy did, and she only had an implant to work with...no teeth in my mouth where this 3 piece temporary went!

The only suggestion I have is that the neck collar is offered to everyone for X-rays as there is an increase in thyroid cancer in women and this may help prevent it. I was gladly given the collar when I asked for it, but it was not offered. Thanks!

I thought that Dr. Ellison would be putting in my temporary crown, and would have liked to have known that his assistant was going to do that. After the medication wore off, I had pain and sesitivity in the gum area surrounding the tooth that evening. It was not explained to me that that was a possibility that could happen. I still have slight sensitivity in the gum region below the tooth.
