The office is very pretty, comfortable and clean as well. The staff is friendly and helpful. I felt they were following very good Covid practices, both at the exam and the optical center. Dr. Lunares is knowledgeable, extremely competent, professional, and personable. He explains things in terms that a lay person can understand. The staff is also friendly and efficient, but whoever taped my mask to my face so that it would not move, taped it so close to my left eye that it was extremely difficult and uncomfortable to remove. The skin in that area is thin and tender. I'm sure the staff member did not realize that this would be a problem, and I mean this as constructive criticism, not as a complaint.

Awesome Eye practice. Have been a patient for many years. Besides normal routine exams, contact lens fittings, Dr. Jahnle performed painless cataract surgery implanting lenses that were the same prescription as my glasses. I am extremely myopic, legally blind in my uncorrected left eye. Eye care is critical to me. I chose Dr. Jahnle from a review of physician outcomes more than 25 years ago - I can't remember exactly. To trust him with my eyes is to trust him with my life because of my work. Two years ago, he removed my cataracts. For the first time since I was seven years old, I could wake up in the morning and see my toes wiggle. I could look out of the window next to my bed and see the birds and the leaves. It was a life changing experience. My friends have struggled with cataract surgery - complications, for example. I've had no issues.

The only knock is that they are pretty well booked in advance so definitely scheduling well in advance for regular eye checkups is a must. The doctor was clearly very rushed and didn't take time to really carefully explain things. His assistant was also rushed. On my way out they didn't even remember that I had my pupils dilated and needed sunglasses. I had to remind them. I also wasn't informed of the very many drawbacks to multifocal intraocular lenses. I was only told I might need additional reading glasses. Something told me to research them more when I went home, and, lo and behold, I was not informed of the side effects that I could get with these lenses. Had I only listen to the doctors quick description oh, I would have opted for them and wasted almost $3,000 on each I just to have side effects like night glare Etc. Definitely not impressed. Dr. Grover was the doctor that saw me and he was far too rushed.

While it turned out to be not too bad (relief for us), he did NOT make us feel awkward or silly for coming in. Was a GREAT experience all around.

I called on a Friday morning very concerned about my very hazy vision which was a new symptom of my “floaters”. I was diagnosed by a non-specialist 6 weeks prior. I was immediately offered an appointment with Dr. Linares, a retina specialist the same day which I gladly accepted. The office staff were very friendly and my wait was only about 10 minutes. I was first seen by the doctors assistant who could not have been nicer. When the doc came in he even spoke in a whisper because my grandson had fallen asleep in his stroller. Dr Linares explained EVERYTHING as he examined my dilated eyes. I don’t believe I’ve ever had a doc make me feel more at ease than Dr Linares did. I was truly afraid that I was losing my vision before my visit but I left feeling more relieved than I thought possible! Thank you from the bottom of my heart Dr Linares!!’

The staff was very friendly, helpful and efficient; however I had a sub-par experience with the optometry/glasses department. The first young lady that helped me never engaged me to determine if I needed any additional help with choosing glasses. She seemed very dismissive when asked if a certain frame came in a different color and not very service oriented. Thank goodness for the other young lady who worked in the same area: great attitude, great customer service and very engaging.

Dr. Mekel is absolutely wonderful. He is kind, listens to my concerns, explains his work as he is performing it, and always checks to make sure I do not have any lingering questions or concerns. I greatly appreciate that he remembers me from year to year and genuinely seems to care. My only knock would be against scheduling. I always arrive a 5 to 15 minutes before my scheduled appointment, but I have to wait in the waiting area 20 to 30 minutes past my appointment time. Given that I am usually taking time off from work to make the appointment, this is costly. For this reason, I marked the "Staff friendliness and courteousness" as 3 out of 5. Otherwise, 5 stars!

I have been a patient for many years at the Media office, and I have always been very satisfied. This was my first time at Havertown. It was very busy but seemed to function effectively. There is no where else to register something that could be improved, so I will do it here. I would give zero stars if I could. My first visit here was 4/23. While the staff is nice enough, I did not appreciate at all the attitude of the doctor. I forgot to bring my old contact lens boxes with me, which annoyed him (although I had my husband send me photos of them). When I told him about the different trial lenses my previous, long-time and now retired eye doctor had given me to see which was more comfortable, he was dismissive and judgmental. So when he couldn't find the marking on my existing lens that matched up to the brand I thought I was wearing, he was again annoyed. He was in and out of the room several times, treating other patients, I assume, instead of giving me his complete attention. He rudely chastised the assistant because some contact lenses were in the wrong drawer - slammed them down on her desk. That should never be done in front of a patient. My appointment was for 4:00; it was 5:00 by the time I was finished (would have been earlier had he stayed in the room). Apparently the office closes at 5, as everyone packed up and left - but I still hadn't tried on any glasses frames. Literally everyone left the building but the woman who handles the frames, and while she was nice enough about having to stay late with me, it did seem like she was rushing through everything. I felt guilty, and pressured to hurry and choose a frame so she could leave too. I don't even know now if I'm going to like what I chose. To add insult to injury, It's now almost a month later and I STILL have no contact lenses or glasses. The glasses I ordered were apparently made incorrectly and had to be sent back. I called last week about the contact lenses and was told I would receive them on May 7th. It's now May 15th and I still don't have them. Called and was told I'll receive them today. That's what they said last time, so how can I believe that? While this office looks professional and impressive upon arrival, it's anything but. What a horrible experience.

The best year of my life. I've been a patient of Dr. Jahnle's for many years. I was terrified that I would have to trust my extremely myopic eyes to a stranger. Not so. Last year, when Dr. Jahnle replaced my cataracts with toric lenses, so that I could have 20/20 vision from -11 diopter and severe astigmatism, it began the best year of my life. What a wonderful gift. No complications - but I was strict about the drops - great vision.

I was in for my checkup yesterday and since this is the busiest time of year because of the holidays, I was certain I wouldn't be finished on time. My appointment was for 3:20 and I was taken back to the examining room at that time. The assistant was professional, cordial and prompt. Dr. Jahnle came in after the assistant left and examined me. He explained any questions I had and assured me that I was fine, no new problems and he told me my eyes were in great shape for another year. I am always concerned because macular degeneration is in my family...but there are no signs that I have the condition. I will continue to see this group and can recommend their services.

I have been a patient at Jahnle for more years than I can remember and have always been happy with this practice. Dr. Meckelmy regular eye doctor, has always done a great job and the staff is wonderful. My most recent visit was for a problem with flashes and floaters in my eye. When I called and described my problem, the woman I spoke with realized I needed to see the retina specialist, Dr. Lanerus. I was able to get an appointment very quickly and was very pleased with Dr. Lanerus' treatment.
