I've heard for over 20 years what very good care and service Dr. Heitmeier's office provides. I visited there 2/4/20 and was not disappointed! Left very satisfied! Will definitely recommend him.

Ellen is great. I prefer not to be at any medical office longer than necessary but want all the information that I need. Ellen allows that. She's thorough in her exams and providing information and she's efficient with her time usage. In that, I never feel like I'm rushed and always leave feeling as though I've received all the information that I need.

Dr. Heithmeier and his staff are very friendly and professional with their customers. I was very happy with the service they extended to me and I did not spend all day there. I was able to have my eye exam and get fitted for my eye glasses all within an 1 hour 30 minutes. I give Dr Heitmeier and his team 2 thumbs up 👍🏽👍🏽and ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ rating.

After rescheduling my appointment a few days later. I was early for the appointment. I waited over an hour to be seen. Then I waited another hour after the testing just to see the doctor. It made me very anxious and I had plans that made me late. Very bad scheduling but good assistants and doctor.

I was very surprised when I got to my appointment, on time by the way. When the associated told me I had to pay a $40.00 copay. I explained I didn't know that I didn't bring my card that I use to pay doctor bills. The clerk said coldly that I couldn't be serviced if I can't pay first. I asked politely if I could mail a check back. I knew I didn't have a balance. She said she was going to ask bookkeeping, she came back shortly and said they told her no. I had to use my household card and went into overdraft. I was very upset.

The waiting area chairs are deplorable! They are beyond putting in the trash. I was there 2-1/2 hours for a general eye exam.

I love Dr HeitMeier, he truly cares about his patients. I did not even have to wait long , in the past was hours by the time we would get finished. It was so much calmer and peaceful. At one time I was going to complain to the Doctor about how rude a few of the ladies were to my mother. But wow so much has changed since our last visit .

While I was really not happy about the 45+ minute wait, I was very, very happy to get help from Dr. Langhetee. He diagnosed my problem within seconds of careful examination of my eye and within another few seconds I was feeling relief. He truly made a difference in my quality of life and I am thankful for your practice and doctors like him.

WITHOUT QUESTION THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE EYE EXAM I HAVE EVER HAD. DR. HEITMEIR WAS THOROUGH AND ANSWERED ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS. THE STAFF IS EQUALLY UP TO THAT STANDARD AS WELL.

The appointment took a long time but the dr. Didn't take much time checking my eyes. I chose to go to a 'real' dr instead of the mall thinking I should get a quality exam but it was just an eye test basically. The worst part was it was the same dr I had 2 years ago and his recommendations were Not the same. Last time he recommended bifocals. This time he said I only need readers. Did my eyes heal themselves? Made no sense. I mean even the DMV says I need glasses for distance ...but he was about to send me out without a prescription for distance. I had to tell him I wanted one in addition to the readers.

Everyone was nice and very professional. The tech that examined me was informative and professional. The doctor was as easy to talk to as any doctor I ever experienced. She took time to explain the photos of the back of my eyes, asked and informed me of family history as related to my eyes, told me what I must do to maintain healthy vision while dealing with my illness(diabetes). It was a great experience.

I, once again, am very disappointed in your office. My daughter had an awful experience and now I did too. I paid $70 fitting fee for contacts. Girl dialated my eyes BEFORE I was fitting with new contacts. She handed me the card to see what I could read with new contacts and I couldn’t see anything. Went home with those contacts and once eyes were back to normal the new contacts were not allowing wing me to see clearly. Now I have to make another visit to your office to get refitted. I am sure will have to wait forever for that. I will not be back to your office after I am finished with this visit. You have lost our family.

The wait for a routine eye exam was 2.5hours. I had an 8:45 appointment and wasn’t seen until 11:00. My insurance also wasn’t verified and was charged as though I didn’t have any. I have been a patient for 25 years but after my last 2 visits I will be seeking a new doctor

Incorrect folder was given to the tech by the office. The tech was the one who noticed the mistake when she had doubts that the age on the folder could not be my real age. Had she not noticed, I could have been given a wrong treatment for me eyes !

Dr. Henry P. Langhetee is an exemplary doctor. He has taken care of my vision needs for over 13 years and I wouldn't trust my eyesight to any other doctor. He's compassionate and very caring.

For such a busy office, the wait was not long, very thorough assessments, and friendly staff. The highlight is that Dr. Heitmeier himself, assessed my child's vision. Started at the clinic in 2006. For the last 8-10 years I see Dr. Langhetee. Always pleased with the information he gives so that I can understand my diagnosis. Recently I had my very first ocular migraine. He showed me a little video and told me to keep and eye on this (pun intended).

I sat and waited for 1 Hour and 20 min’s passed my appointment time, so I left without seeing the Dr.

I arrived for an 8:30 appointment, having been told by the scheduler that I was the first appointment of the day. By 9:10, my name had not been called nor a copay collected. I asked the receptionist why, and she stated that my chart needed to be pulled from the back. After waiting for a few more minutes, my name was called, copay collected, and I was sent to the back and met with an associate. I complained that I had already been there 45 minutes, and was told that there were three people in front of me. I relayed my knowledge of being the 'first appointment of the day' only to be told that Heitmeier was triple booking patients. So, three people had the same time slot with the same doctor!! Moving along, I was put in the next room and told to place my chin and forehead on the equipment to read eye charts. I did not see that the chin rest nor the forehead rest were cleaned, nor did I see any wipes in the room to accomplish this. My eyes were dilated and I waited to see the doctor. When he finally came in, he spent less than 5 minutes with me. I understand Heiteier's desire to be as profitable as possible. However, I left feeling as though I had just participated in some sort of 'eye-patient-mill' and had not received what I felt was a thorough exam by the doctor. And there had been zero consideration for my time. I will not be returning to Heitmeier.

I always hate scheduling and going to my annual appointment, but am usually pleasantly surprised after and wonder what my hesitation is. One of main reasons is dilating my pupils and rendering me useless after at work. But as usual my appointment was a good experience, discovered my blood sugar out of control time has started showing up in my eyes, and also discovered with newer equipment and narrow angles, I don't need dilating. It was all good and I look forward to reversing the diabetic retinopathy.

The visit was fine. Even with it being busy we were taken care of. After the visit when attempting to get a receipt for a rebate that we were told about I have had endless issues. The lady answering the phone was exceptionally rude not letting me finish speaking before transferring me to billing. It has been 2 weeks since they put my receipt in the mail and it has still not arrived. I can't get any assistance in getting what I need and that will cost me $200 dollars. While the visit was great it is almost enough to make me find somewhere else to get my contacts.

I really like Dr. Nguyen but I was not really happy about my last appointment. I arrived on time and the place was packed, however I did not have to wait as long as I expected. Everyone was friendly but I feel that when they did get to me, I was rushed quickly through the process and shortly was on my way. I am not complaining about the speed but I feel like things were missed because so many people were there and they were just trying to get through everyone. I was there for my contacts and had asked at check in about getting a new prescription for my glasses, since they were a couple of prescription changes between visits. The lady at the desk said that they would take care of it. They also asked if I was getting my eyes dialated. I didn't know this was an option, since I get it at almost every yearly visit. I had already prepared for the possibility. I had my contacts and eyes checked, had a brief meeting with Dr. Nguyen, and she walked me out. No glasses prescription and misinformation about how to get them refilled :(

The whole experience was VERY stressful as both the staff & drs were crisscrossing each other for the entire TWO hours it took me to have a regular annual visit. I was moved from one holding room to another which was frustrating. I witnessed one patient abort his appointment as he could not edit any longer. Sorry but my experience was awful. I left without ordering my glasses and contacts as I had family responsibilities to attend.

My visit was rushed by the doctor. I attempted to advise of an ongoing issue but not allowed to finish before a suggestion was made but no explanation of the issue. The total time with provider was under 4 minutes which included the walk to discharge.

Visit was great with Dr. Heitmeier as usual, Just on the business side of things, there could be some improvements. To jump from vision plan copay to medical plan copay and no communication as to why does not make happy customers. Taking the time to go over why and not have the patient to have to ask would be great. And to say I don' t know why and let me get someone who does, is way better than trying to answer and making it worse.

I am very pleased with Dr. Henry Langhetee! He was referred to me as an eye doctor who was excellent about patient rapport and answering questions. I had many, many questions about a condition I have called Central Retinal Vein Occlusion. He was so patient and so helpful so that I could get a better understanding. I see a Retinal Specialist who provides specific care, but for eye exams, glasses and questions... I see Dr. Langhetee, and I am so grateful that he is available to me. The office has state-of-the-art equipment for in-depth eye exams, and the staff are personable and professional.

The doctors who work here are all great. The wait time continues to be their biggest challenge. My appointment was for 10:25am, and I had an 11:30 in Metairie that I had to cancel as I did not leave the office until 12 noon. The appointment itself only lasted 10 - 15 minutes; the rest was all wait time to be seen. Then, after that, I was told to have a seat so that I can wait again to order my contacts. I used to be able to order my contacts at checkout. There was no chance I was going to continue to wait, so I said I would order by phone, but will more than likely simply mail order at this point. I travel a lot for my work, so it's inconvenient to have to spend 2 hours at the eye doctor for a 15 minute appointment. This happens every time, for all the years I've gone there, and there does not appear to be any concern on the doctors part that my time is just as valuable as yours.

Everything was good except wasn't told the steps - was in a room, then out, then in a room, then out. It wasn't until the third room that anyone told me what was going on. An explanation would be nice for each room visit. Not that I don't know, but it is the reassurance and the waiting time which need to be explained, from room to room. Thank you.

I think I am still getting over the shock of how horrible my experience has been with this association. From my eyes being dialated and a doctor never looking at them to a wrong prescription being written off of a clerk having me read 4 lines when I first got to office. To after over two months and having to pay out of pocket for another doctor to find out RX was wrong and the so called best quality lenses I paid out of pocket for were actually the cheapest out there. I finally, thanks to another doctor have my correct glasses and am on drops I need to be on for a pressure problem which this doctor did not treat.

Three stars, but I could not change the stars on the rating scale. Everyone is very friendly but the process to get seen seems very chaotic. I didn't see the doctor for an hour. I saw two other people - again very nice - but I didn't see why they needed to have me see 2 people for a regular contact eye exam.

The CSR was in training and had to swipe my debit card about 4 times. She said only the co-pay of $45.00 was charged, but an additional $39.60 was also charged on my debit card. I checked in with the front desk and was told that the apt that I made several weeks prior, was not in the system, but that they could take me as a walk-in. I waited a long time to be seen, I was there over 2 hours total. This was extremely tough, and I was told it was a slow day. I was not pleased. I work as well, therefore time is precious to everyone. I was also surprised at the cost for bi-focal readers; expensive I think. I was able to drop the price $80, by not getting glare reduction, ridiculous. I was told that it will take several weeks for my glasses to come in, this is a long time. I could have gone elsewhere and saved time and money.

I was told I was some sort of eye tumor without much information except that it could be cancer. Then asked to come back in a month. No further information so I'm in limbo for a whole month not knowing what is really going on. Seems to me one month is a long time if in fact it's eye cancer. Only problem I had was the check in lady was preoccupied with a young woman , who was all mixed up with her prescription. That took over 25 minutes, before I was called up to give my copay, and insurance card. She should have been referred to the glasses dept. Then I waited from 1:20 until 2:15 before being called in by person who did my vitals for eyes. All went smooth, after that.

The lady with the glasses was rude. While I was speaking to the young dark completed lady about the charges the other person got up looked at me and discussing or talking about me to another Co worker. That was not appreciated very rude and very unprofessional. I literally almost got a refund and walked out. The person that was "helping" me said they get this complaint about the charges all the time and had the attitude I just had to deal with it. Not a very good first impression.

Your office schedules to many patients at the same time, my appointment was for 9:45, I waited 30 minutes to go in the back. Very seldom does a patient go smoothly. I know it is a business, however, my time is as valuable as yours. Really considering moving to another dr because it never gets better. Each visit is the same as far as the timing. Clients should not be able to talk on cell phones and play videos. It was very disturbing in the back waiting room to sit & listen to all that craziness. Several staff members walked passed the clients & no one asked they stop or at least turn the volume down. After my eyes were dilated, I was taken back to the waiting area to wait for my exam. I waited there for over 1:15 minutes.The doctor who saw me was rude, condescending, and unprofessional. He didn't think it was a big deal to have an eye exam take 90 minutes from start to finish. He didn't even apologize for making me wait. It's obvious his cataract and laser surgery patients come first. I'm sorry I got in his way o making big money. I had the same experience with him last year.I will not return next year. I was planning on buying two prescription glasses. That won't happen. The receptionist and the woman who checked my eyes up front were fantastic, kind, and knowledgeable. Bring Dr Armani back. I waited to get the first appointment of the day at 8:30 AM so I could get to work. I have texts showing 8:30. The staff put 8:45 on my chart and at least one and maybe two people were taken ahead of me. I waited a rather long time. The front desk was not very polite or friendly. I also do not think my contact lens prescription is correct. I could not read near as well with the new contact for the left eye so thankfully I still had some old ones. I am now concerned about getting glasses that I may not be able to see out of. I will be looking for a new eye doctor.

I want to give high praise for the friendliness and approach-ability of everyone. Dr. Langhetee was phenomenal. He answered all of my questions. Provided reassurance where appropriate and has a wonderful personality. He was extremely knowledgeable about my particular problem, which gave me great confidence in his opinions. Every member of the staff, from the front desk to the exams to the checkout, all smiled, and before testing me or putting in the drops they each introduced themselves. It made my visit so nice, which was great because I am dealing with a serious vision problem which is weighing heavily on my mind. I am so relieved and grateful that I was referred to Dr. Langhetee, and the eye care center.

My appointment was for 4:10 and I did not leave until 6:00. And I saw my dr. For probably 5 minutes. I sat in a cold room with my eyes dilated for at least an hour with 6 other people. Everyone in the room was forced to wait a long time. The building is confusing set up, old and outdated; the scheduling is always poor and I usually have 2-3 hours visit. I would never recommend them to anyone and am considering not coming back there myself. Treatment of patient is simply unacceptable.

Only thing I had a problem with is that I would have liked to have my appointment at least an hour later and it couldn't be changed and then an appointment was made for me for next year without asking me for time preference again. They felt like they had been forgotten and were extremely negative in their comments.

The phone services (optical) should answer calls instead of having the answering service answer (all the time). A person leaves a message and we may not get a call back until late the next day. They are always so busy (so they say). One can never get through to that department.

Nov. 2014 I was told to return in 9 months as glaucoma was discovered. At last week's appt. Dr. Thompson said I didn't have it, it was NOT noted in my file and what made me think I had it. This made me feel a bit embarrassed. I went through 10 months worrying about future eye drops & eye injections. I didn't make this up. I am so relieved I don't have it, but who should I believe?

I felt as though I was being rushed throughout the entire visit. I did not feel as though I had a thorough exam done but either the nurses or the doctor. It's sad to go to the doctor and feel extremely rushed just so other people can be rushed in the same way just so your practice can make more money. I do not believe I will be coming back.

My last visit went smoothly and was a pleasant experience - the staff seemed more content and the format for the exam seemed to flow well - good job, but it did take 30 minutes past my appointment time to begin. My last visit was not a good experience, the staff seemed troubled/grumbled openly and the negative mood of the staff flowed into their service to the patients, at least me.

I think you should explain if the person's eyes are getting better or worse and why without them asking. I think you should also tell them what their prescription is in each eye. I walked out not knowing. I feel like I should recieve a paper telling me the procedures done and why along with the results without asking for it.

Overall, an excellent visit! Staff was friendly like always. And even recalled my visit last year that alone made me feel special and values as a client. As always a great selection of frames and lens options. Dr. Heitmeier has made some great improvement to the office and equipment.

Please try to adhere closer to the appointment time. I was called in about 40 minutes past my appointment time. Then I had to get my preliminaries and dilated before seeing the doctor. Before I saw him I sat even longer. I always try to get an early appointment so that I can get our early, but that never happens. An 8:45 appointment and out 11:45 is too long.

I felt like a widget on an assembly line.the whole thing was very impersonal - not rude, but impersonal. when I finally did see the doctor he said the same words that I had heard him say to the previous 2 customers - and I mean customers, i never felt like a patient. he spent only 7 minutes with me - the last two standing by the door trying to get out so he could do his next customer.like I said, it was like a factory assembly line.

Dr. Heitmeyer is over booked with appts at the same time. I was scheduled with dr. Heitmeyer, but was seen by a different doctor. It took me 2 hours for an eye exam for contacts and fitting. It is a lot of sitting and shuffling of patients. I felt like I was a cow in a herd. I will look for another doctor because this is not a good fit.

I saw a lot of older people coming in and not enough chairs to sit so it gets a bit crowded in the waiting room. Maybe by using only one in and out door more chairs can be placed by the door close to the check out window.

The employees in the office and the doctors are very polite and have a personal touch. Outside of this there are very few benefits to attending your office. There seems to be systematic failures throughout. There is a long wait time with many room changes, probably to distract from how long visitors have been there. Although I've been attending for over a decade my file has gone missing on multiple occasions which has upset the flow of my annual visits. And despite the fact that I have worn contacts for years I was neglected a contact fitting in my most recent annual and this was not apparent until months later when I tried to order contacts. This staff mindlessness will have caused me with out contact for at least too months. I hope your office's lens and frame process is not anything like that of contacts because your process for ordering contacts is horrid. Even when I am appropriately fitted for contacts it typically takes a week for me to talk reach Julie, in contacts, to initially place my order. Then once they are ordered due to my poor vision it takes weeks to receive them and they are commonly placed on back order. Overall I do not feel like my vision is guaranteed through the process of your office. I am a very disappointed longterm visitor.

3 hours is way too long for a regular check up. I had to take half a day from work, instead of an hour. My day starts at 9 am... my appointment was at 8:30 and I wasn't able to leave until after 11. I will ask next time for an appointment on a day when the Dr. isn't doing post surgery check ups.. If one is not available or I have to wait that long again, I will find a one doc operation.

I complained to Dr. Thompson how inefficient the office staff is when it comes to returning phone calls regarding prescription medication. I don't think this survey will bring needed results as I've sent a letter recommending improvement in the past as the same problem occurred two weeks ago when I asked for a refill. One person doesn't seem to know what the other is doing.

Dr. David Heitmeier and the staff are great. The doctor is interested in providing a complete eye exam and insuring you understand the eye results. He takes his time and explains if the eye exam may be foreshadowing other body issues. The problem is getting appointment times meet.

I don't know why y'all moved the contact lens dept to the glasses dept. I used to be able to order and pick them up in 5 minutes but now I have to wait an hour in a line of people deciding on glasses. it takes forever and it makes no sense. I always enjoy going to see Dr. Heitmeier because he is kind, professional and knowledgeable. When I arrive the reception is usually more friendly, but they did not even acknowledge me or anyone else because they were busy talking so when I said hello they probably did not hear me. Since the rest of the staff was very friendly and kind, I forgot about the reception area.

As always, I get exceptional service at Heitmeier, Armani, etc, etc, etc. I was concerned about increased blurred vision I was experiencing recently and Dr. Cangelosi sugggested that I had put the left contact in the right eye. He was correct, and he didn't even poke fun at me, which would have been justified.

Feb 2 visit, Dr Thomson missed eye infection, it got worse and Dr Heitmeier diagnosed it on Feb 4. By then, it was an ulcer on the cornea. Tech on Feb 2 wrote eye glass lens Rx wrong, but Thomson caught it. Quality of care on several visits to heitmeier and Lenghetee was excellent. Waiting a long time to be seen is the only other complaint which could only be solved by adding another physician but don't know if you have room.

Your doctor was top notch and I want to thank you for that. Your nursing staff also. BUT the reception was terrible. If I had more time and wasn't in a rush I would have left. I was first greeted after giving my name with "you don't have an appointment. Maybe it's at our other office. Then she walked away. After calling my profiction office to confirm the proper location I asked the receptionist for the other offices phone number. She proceeded to call and then told me "No you don't have one there either. " She again proceeded to ignore me. One of the nurses over heard and asked her for my name at which point she pointed to the board and says "yes he does. It's right here" She proceeded to check me in after 10 minutes AND then with my insurance card in front of hers told me that I didn't have any insurance. "Do you have any other insurance?" The service used to be really good, however it seems appointments overlap and after working with technician, you are waiting for 45 minutes to an hour if not longer to see doctor. Then for my contact lens fitting I was given a small bottle of solution, which EXPIRED IN 2012. Doesn't feel process is quality anymore, only quantity!

Well obviously the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. the office called my wife's work looking for me and wanted to know what happened to me. They told her I had checked in but when they called me to go into the back that I was no where to be found. My wife called me trying to find out what happened and I told her nothing had happened, I had seen the doctor and everything went as usual. Obviously your staff is not communication with each other very well. I don't know if it has been fixed but we have had mix up with appointment dates previously, not this time but before.

The services I received were good, I was more concern with the bag under my right eye then with my vision. If my vision wasn't good I wouldn't have notice the bag under my eye. Appointments shouldn't be made until the doctor is in the office, I showed up early and waited for the doctor, it should be the other way around. Another lady that was waiting to see the doctor; well she had to leave because she had to go to work. Help patients by not making 5 appointments at the same time, we have JOBS.

I had an 8:45am appt. I didn't leave the office until 11:00. I don't think it should have taken me that long to see the doctor and order glasses. I don't blame the staff, I blame whoever is in charge of the construction that was going on in the office. It had the staff scrambling to move rooms and get situated because of construction being done on a Saturday morning while clinic is going on. I have worked in a doctor's office and that is unacceptable. It should be done after hours.

Dissatisfided with the fact that I have to return for another visit (only 2 months after this recent one)due to having to get re-fitted for contacts. For over 15 years seeing Dr Armani regularly, one visit would cover everything (Check-up & contact prescription renewal.)Saw new Dr. Thompson, who is requiring another visit which I am sure will not be covered by my insurance for the additional visit. NOTATION: My contacts strenghts are perfect as I am not having any problems seeing. So why another visit....????? Please explain... This will be an inconvenience to me.

I waited 20 minutes before I asked why was I not called in to see a doctor. I was told that I was next, after 15 more minutes, I was still waiting. I then decided to just cancel my appt. The nurse told me that the decision was my choice.

Shorten the wait time. I have encountered wait times from 30 mins to over 1 hour for my appointments over the past few years.

1st time I waited so long to see the Doctor. you were seated fast but you sat a long time to see the Doctor. And also why is it that you can only pay your bill in person or through the mail what about paying online,with credit card or E-Check?? # 4 is not worded right your are seated fast . It should state if you waited past your appointment time to be seen by the Doctor?

I come to the appointments early but have to wait to get in and then have to wait again after eyes dilated and then have to wait again to see the Doctor.

Tiffany Spicuzza(the one with the long red hair and blue eyes) assisted me with my contact lens fitting & prescription evaluation. SHE WAS AMAZING! Tiffany S. was very: professional,knowledgeable of the products, patient and kind. She took time to EXPLAIN everything, asked me questions and waited to see that I completely understood EVERYTHING. When I go back next week, I will ask for Tiffany Spicuzza.

The office was filled when patients when I first arrived yet I was waited on and serviced is a short period of time. It was mentioned by several of the patients that they were there to see a specialist who only visited this particular office on Fridays. May be another day can be added to the specialist schedule.

It was a pleasant visit, as they are always pleasant. Hope all the personnel that is there now stays there for a long time. It is important for someone to feel comfortable when they come to their EYE Doctor and having someone they know will take care of them.

The length to see the doctor was a wait with patience due to 'over booking of appointments'. If someone from your staff would have explained the reason for the wait. I would recommend that when things like this occur, someone from your staff should have explained to the patients that 'we're behind seeing you. "We ask that you have a little patience. My appointment was for 11:10 AM; actually visited with the Doctor at 2:10 PM. I knew that the visit could last for 2/3 hours, but after waiting nearly 3 hours? Let's consider those who need to return to a job.
