Great eye exam best I've had in my almost 70years the customer service was amazing also

I have used Heber Springs Eyecare for my last five annual exams and I have seen a different optometrist each time. This year, Dr. Nugent determined that my prescription from last year by Dr. Pigott overcorrected my left eye and caused blurred vision in that eye and changed the reading distance with reading glasses for both eyes. Dr. Nugent reduced the magnification in my left eye and these problems went away. I also was shuttled between two exam rooms before the assistant discovered which doctor I was seeing and then moved me once more to the correct exam room.

My son has Autism and he's nonverbal. He isn't able to do a normal eye exam. The staff all understood that and were absolutely amazing! They cared about him being comfortable and wanting to come back knowing it isn't scary. They worked with him and did all the checking they could. No pushing him to do more. Amazing staff. If I could, I'd give more than 5 stars.

As always, impeccable service! I made an appointment when I realized that I was quickly losing vision in my right eye. They got me in with an hour, and quickly determined that my retina was most likely detached and was making me an appointment at a specialist in Little Rock to confirm and operate as soon as possible. The new office building was fantastic and the staff all extremely well trained and super polite. They calmed my nerves and assisted my eye needs in every possible way to get my vision back. I have just completed the first of a few surgeries to regain my vision, and can't praise them enough for their teamwork and in knowing that time was of the greatest importance in saving my sight and conveying it to me. Thank you all at Heber Springs Eye Care Center!

Being a diabetic it’s important to keep tabs on your eyes as well as other things. I have always had good care at the eye clinic with Dr. Suggs and staff always explains changes in my eyes and what might be needed in the future. Great staff and very professional.

This was an emergency visit for infection and irritation of the eyelids and surrounding skin. I made the appointment online late on the night before the visit. When we arrived, the receptionist noted I had only made a request for an appointment, not an actual appointment. Apparently the online reservation program still has bugs in it. Nevertheless, she immediately worked me in to Dr. Nugent. Sarah Mayes did the intake procedures for me. She is the ultimate professional; friendly, courteous, attentive, efficient, knowledgeable, compassionate, patient, with great communication skills. This was my first time meeting Dr. Nugent. He makes an excellent first impression! He listened and observed. His examination, diagnosis, and treatment plan were very professional, thorough, and clearly communicated. Scheduling the follow-up appointment was easy and handled very professionally. Additionally, I asked for a print out of a charge paid to the clinic last May for my insurance company to verify it was a covered charge. They printed it out immediately and gave it to me. Heber Springs Eye Care Center continues to provide excellent professional services to this community. All personnel are friendly, professional, and focused on patient service.

Dr was very good but the lady handling the glasses needs more teaching. She didn’t know the difference between farsighted and nearsighted and told me wrong so I ordered glasses thinking it was for one thing and found out it was for another. Yes, it was corrected a day later and had the glasses cancelled but she needs to be better educated.

Heber Springs Eye Care is a great place for the entire family to receive vision and eye health care and checkups. I cannot say enough good things about the staff, optometrists, and technology they use to give a comprehensive experience. My son was recently examined there for a routine check-up when a spot was noticed on his retina. Dr. Meredith noticed it and dilated his pupils for a closer look, then referred him that same day for a follow-up appointment with a specialist. I am so grateful for this experience that allowed us to find out what was going on. Additionally, I would like to point out that the scan done on his eyes at Heber Springs Eye Care showed this spot, which did not show up on another specialist's scan. It was not visible until the physician examined his dilated eyes with a mangnifying glass and light. That made me feel great, that the scan done in our small town picked up this abnormality and we were able to get it checked out right away. Additionally, Dr. Sugg was so thorough to speak with me throughout this process and even referring for a second opinion. The entire staff made this experience a great one.

Dr. Joe Sugg is the best in his field that I have ever experienced in eye care. Through a routine annual visit, Dr. Joe Sugg found a retina tear and immediately referred me to a specialist for surgery that day to save my eyesight. He also diagnosed that my husband had a tumor around his tear duct that after going to a specialist for surgery turned out to be Large B Cell lymphoma cancer. Having quick surgery to remove the tumor my husband is cancer free. We could not be more convinced that Dr. Joe Sugg is the most thorough and proficient professional doctor in eye care that we could ever experience.

This was the best eye care experience I've ever had (and I've been to at least 5 optometrists over the years). Dr. Sugg and his staff were all incredibly courteous and professional. Dr. Sugg was "all business" but was still very friendly. I spent about an hour there from start to finish - and the best part is Dr. Sugg corrected my eyesight to 20-15! As always through the years I was very pleased with the exceptional, thorough eye exam and evaluation of my present vision. No where in the past have I felt that I got an eye exam that measured up to the quality that I recieve at the Heber Springs Eye Care Center. Dr. Joe Sugg is by far the best in my opinion and has proved that opinion by detecting my retina tear, and my husband's tumor beside his eye that turned out to be Large B Cell lymphoma. I wasn't going to leave my review online, but it wouldn't let me leave my full explanation below so I posted it here. My appointment was in June, but I went back to find this email because of the phone call I got to collect money today. First of all, everything with my services have always been fine. The efficiency during appointments is most certainly noticed and appreciated. Dr. Meredith and staff are always courteous, professional, prompt, and succinct. I have always known that it would save me quite a bit of money if I chose to order glasses and contacts online instead of directly from the clinic. However, I want to support small businesses in any way I can and have never resorted to ordering online, but instead always getting glasses and contacts for myself and glasses for my daughter. The last time I came in June, I did not order contacts. I didn't need any, but instead I just ordered a new pair of glasses for myself and for my daughter (our appointments were together). Today I receive a phone call that I have a $35 balance for a contact fitting fee. She explained to me what it was, and I explained to her that I didn't get any contacts that day. My prescription hadn't changed, I still had plenty from my last order, and I just got glasses. She did explain that he does measure the corneas during the appointment and that is what the contact fee is for. I will go pay the $35, but I think it is absurd to be a separate charge. Measuring and examining the eyes should be included in the fee of the the comprehensive eye exam. I should not be called months later and asked to pay a contact fitting fee when I didn't get contacts.

I was a new patient so I was still able to get in and out in about an hour which included new patient paperwork and even looking for new glasses.
