Drive from Greenland took same amount of time it did to your former office in Portsmouth. Parking great. Greeted in a friendly professional way and not long afterwards directed to two eye exam rooms Shannon was friendly and professional and I was confident she knew what she was doing. Dr Nick, as usual, was professional and friendly and helped me out with questions I had about the contact lenses I am trying out. I felt I was in competent and professional hands throughout my visit and will certainly be returning for my next appointment.

Everyone was so great and efficient except when checking out. The exam was so thorough and everyone listened and was so polite so my surprise at the woman at the checkout desk was a let down. She was rude and condescending and left a negative impression upon leaving. When I scheduled my appointment I gave my insurance information and then called before the appointment to verify they took my insurance and again upon arrival I was assured they have my insurance and it was covered, then when checking out she said your insurance doesn’t cover any of this as we don’t take your insurance I was confused and explained that I was told otherwise, could she check again. She just repeated herself again and I said I didn't understand and she just ignored me and held her hand out for my card. I said again I don’t understand, can I submit it to them and she responded, you can do whatever you want but we don’t take your insurance. I was shocked after everyone else being so polite to be treated like that was shocking and felt nasty. I feel like I was deceived that you did take my insurance to be told that afterwards was quite a let down and deceptive.

The appointment went very well, starting with checkin and my initial testing with Maile Weston. My eye exam results overall were disappointing but Dr. Jennifer wants to do another test, suspecting the poor results were due to dryness. The only reason I give a 4 rather than 5 was the move from Portsmouth. It is a beautiful facility and the drive is not terrible - but it's not Portsmouth so I can't bike there any longer and can't move easily between local appointments. Given I commute to Boston for work, I really value having my non-work days as car-free as possible.

Dr. Trahan was fantastic! She was so warm and welcoming and had the perfect personality to work with my spunky 4 year old daughter. She was patient and explained everything and took the time to answer my questions thoroughly. The office was very kid friendly, clean and inviting. I would highly recommend this office!

They were really nice but the Dr pointed out I was wearing the wrong prescription but then she also prescribed the wrong prescription so I am left with having to buy different glasses and try them. I am not sure I would go back if I have to still hunt for glasses that are going work verses getting right prescription I have never had this experience.

initial contact with intake person was rushed and she was quite disinterested in anything - very robot like next consultation with opthamalogiost also rushed and our initial concern for being there was never adequately addressed felt a conveyor belt and everything was recited

Harbor Eye Care center has always been a great place to get eye exams, contact lenses and glasses. The staff is friendly and attentive. Their new location may be a bit away from their old location but the facility is awesome, plenty of parking and spacious rooms. I have seen both Dr Sarah and Dr Rinita and both are fantastic!

After almost three months of my daughter suffering from dizziness and headaches, with brain fog and an inability to read or focus, seeing multiple doctors and specialists, Dr Amy was able to give us answers and a treatment plan in one visit. Dr Rinita is absolutely the most thorough eye doctor I have ever encountered. I have been seeing eye doctors since the age of 5. She is extremely knowledgeable and professional and comes into the room prepared to serve only you. The technicians are also trained on all the machines so that when the doctor does arrive in your exam room, she has ample time with the patient. I brought my 8-year-old for her first eye appointment. The whole team made her feel comfortable and explained what they were doing. They were patient in giving instructions, breaking them down for her, and letting her shift or wiggle to fit better in the equipment. They even let her work the (probably crazy expensive) chair. I sat back and observed, answering questions that were for me. They made sure we both understood the results, next steps, and explained how the different parts of the eye function. They made sure we both understood the plan and answered our questions with a good sense of humor. The office staff were equally friendly and competent.

As always greeted nicly when I entered, check in flawless. It was very busy,which made for a log jam at one of the test rooms,also many rooms closed with sign saying dirty. My health insurance allows for an annual eye exam with a $20 copay. At checkout, Harbor Eye said it was a $50 copy and an additional $54 as not all of the visit would be covered. I was really disappointed that Harbor Eye refused to find resolution. I had called my insurance co to verify, and received paperwork showing what is covered and that Harbor Eye is in network. I was told "That's not our problem. You have to pay what we say." I asked how I could find resolution, and was told this was how it is, and that my insurance doesn't cover vision and this was billed as a medical specialist visit. I've been coming for years, but this kind of lack of compassion and unwillingness to help resolve an issue creates more stress than I'm able to take on. Outside of this, I've had great experiences, but won't be coming back.

I am a retired RN and can be very fussy about medical professionals. I was so impressed with every person in this office from the receptionist at the front desk to the person (who did introduce herself but forget her name) who did initial assessment and then to the MD. I have nothing but praise for Harbor Eye Care. After cataract surgery years ago, I was referred to Harbor Eye Care to deal with other eye related issues. Since going there, I have been diligent in following any suggestions that they give me to help maintain my vision and it has been paying off. For two years there was no change in my prescription, and this year only one small change in one eye. Not bad for almost 72 years old! They are the BEST!

It was easy to get the appointment and it was a very short wait time before they took me in for the preliminary testing. The doctor came right in after to see me. She did the other parts of the exam and explained everything as she went. She was so thorough going over all of my history and explaining any issues. She is friendly and very knowledgeable. We moved about 40 minutes away a year and a half ago and considered changing to an eye doctor closer to our new home, but Dr. Renita is worth the extra drive!

I was greeted with warm hospitality by your receptionist. I was feeling rather embarrassed because I have been a patient of Dr. Amy's for decades yet I had gone to another doctor for an eye glass script and was unable to read with my new glasses. When I explained my predicament to the staff everyone, including Dr. Amy were as pleasant and professional making me feel very welcome. I've learned my lesson! Kristen started my exam with compassion, Nicole skillfully and politely checked me out. I had shared my dilemma with Aaron, the Optical Manager; he said everything would go well and asked how he could help me find a new frame that would fit me better, even though they didn't make any money from my sale. He is kind and the quintessential professional. It was fascinating to observe how Dr. Amy solved the puzzle of my poor vision with a new script by building forward from my old prescription with Vision Source. The very kind nurse that brought me to the exam room was very patient with me while she was double checking my history as I am cognitively impaired. My ability to find words and my memory are just a mess and I am so appreciative of her patience with me. (I’m sorry I can’t remember your name otherwise I would personally thank you!) Dr. Nik was very thorough and I was very appreciative that if my concussion symptoms were triggered too badly he would not push me through more tests. Thankfully that wasn’t the case. I am very appreciative of the time he took to explain everything to me and answered all my questions. Scot walked me through the process of selecting my frames since this is something I’ve never had to do before. I enjoyed his sense of humor which was a good distraction from my internal panic over picking out glasses. There is one other person I wish I could thank but again I’m so sorry I can’t remember your name. You were so nice and patient with me also when I was checking out and walked me through the next steps of picking up my glasses and my next appointment. I appreciate the team at Harbor Eye Care Center! Thank you all for making this nerve wracking experience not so scary for me! Even though the results are not what I wanted, I am happy that I am getting the help I need.

Wow!!! Wow!! Wow!! I am so glad I changed my eye care to Dr. Nik Moore. My last eye care office treated me like a number. Not here at Harbor Eyecare Center. Top notch with the staff as well. Very personable and Dr. Nik explained my eye condition very well so I was able to understand and I felt very comfortable not rushed at all. Including Scot the optician when it came time to select new glasses. He really listened to what I was looking for. He was very patient with my eyeglass shopping. Brought my daughter in for an eye exam they were absolutely amazing my son needed glasses a year ago we were in the middle of moving from Massachusetts to New Hampshire I had to bring him to mass because of our insurance the dr gave him to strong of a prescription he will not were his glasses and he plays hockey and they said he could not wear contacts This coming year we were not going to sign him up because the poop kid cant see When I was here with my daughter I told the doctor my concerns and they said he could absolutely wear contacts and they would work with him I am so grateful to have found this place and they got me an appointment right away they’re absolutely amazing with children

I've been a patient here for over 16 years. I wear specialty contact lenses (CRT/Ortho K) and initially saw Dr. Amy and now I see Dr. Trahan. The office is convenient, modern and I've found all of the staff members to be helpful and friendly. Dr. Trahan takes her time to go over everything during my routine eye exams and for my contact lens fitting appointments. My provider is Dr.Trahan. She is the consummate professional…thorough, patient and kind. She ensures that you understand everything discussed during your visit and you leave at ease with a clear view ( pardon the pun),of what to expect, what to be concerned about and with a clear plan on how to proceed. She instills confidence and I trust her care implicitly. She also has a terrific sense of humor, puts you at ease and you feel as if you’re visiting an old friend. In short she’s terrific !!
