It is unfortunate that I will no longer be conducting business with Vonnahme Eye Care. I have been going there for over 9 years and I have always felt I paid more than I would normally for a pair of glasses. Every year it seemed the price would spike up and I just paid the difference. This year the spike was way over a hundred dollars so I told the technician to hold the order until I thought it over. When I called back a week later he then gave me a different price claiming there was an error. If I had the money at the time I was first quoted I would have spent it without question. I can’t imagine how many other “errors” have occurred in the past that ended with me paying more than I should have. I’m sorry but in this day and age one cannot afford these types of errors.

I had wonderful service from beginning to end at my recent exam. One of the girls snuck me in for an appointment for the same day because I was having headaches and I strain. The front desk people were very friendly and I got in quickly. Dr. Angelique was very nice, professional, and knowledgeable. She is an excelllent Optometrist who took the time to answer all of my questions. Thank you for a great experience!

This was my 1st visit to Vonnahme Eye Care. Right from the start at reception to when I left after my appointment was done, everyone was very professional and pleasant. I saw Dr. Angie Vonnahme and couldn't be happier with the care I received. I have health conditions/medications that can affect my eye health and she was very attentive to my concerns. I am thrilled to have found a new eye doctor that is professional, caring, and answered all my questions in a way I could understand them. I would definitely recommend Vonnahme Eye Care to anyone!

Vonnahme Eye Care is the best around. The front end staff are always nice and helpful. I drive 30 miles to see Dr Angie Vonnahme and my daughter drives from PA to see her because she is patient and kind and always accommodating with multiple trials of contact strengths and brands to get just the right fit and comfort.

The staff and Dr, Vonnahme were great found a great pair of frames. Aksa was very professional over the phone and in person. The doctor made sure I had the right prescription before I left. The didn't try to sell me on something I knew I didn't want in lenswear.

I love coming here because its local and I do love the service, but the wait times are awful. I had to cancel my appointment that I had on December 10th after waiting for over 40 mins and rescheduled it for the 13th only to have waited again for over 30 mins before being seen. Other than always waiting for my appointment the service is great.

The staff at Vonnahme Eye Care is a confident team that made a quite impressive experience. I watched as a patient was taken care of and all the young ladies were in tune to her needs. Truly the best eye care office in Western Ma. Staff will treat you well, they’re super friendly, always ready to help and answer any questions you have. I’ve never felt like I was being rushed along went I’m here. In all my visits for myself and family, wait times were about 5-10 minutes.

The appointment with Dr. Vonnahme went very well. He is kind and professional. The support staff must have been having a few bad days. I was “informed” on how choosing the add on eye screenings could save my vision. I opted out and the staff stayed that it was not an option, I “had” to check one of the boxes for one, the other or all add on exams. I created a box, checked it with free text “none.” I was then measured for contacts. For the record the reason for he appointment was to see if I am a candidate for contacts. She then told me I would be responsible for the fitting costs even if Dr. stated I would not be a candidate. I argued that and adamantly refused to sign for payment on this until the Dr. says I am a candidate and or we can wait until after the Dr. sees me. Then after I was told hat I was a candidate and that they would order me trial size lenses and they would arrive in 7-10 days. I received a call 10 days later saying contacts ready to be picked up. I was working that day and the next and was unable to pick up. Informed them I would pick up on Monday. I was called again that day and the next telling me to come pick up the contacts. I arrived on Monday and they handed me a single box of 5 lenses. I asked where The other lenses are and she stated: that’s all you get, we only ever sample 5 lenses. I asked how am I supposed to trial if the box of 5 is one prescription and there are not any for the other eye. She said that’s how they do it. If I wanted the other eye’s trial it would be a $75 fee to order the lenses. She left the desk to speak with other staff. Other staff came out and repeated that they only ever sample 5 individual lenses. I asked how that is possible when most people presumably have 2 eyes thus needing an even number. I asked to speak with the Dr. I was informed he was on a multiple week vacation and is unable to assist. I confirmed that my options were to receive 1 box (5 daily wear lenses in one script) and to

I waited 45 minutes before I was taken in for my testing with no acknowledgement form the staff that I was waiting. The doctor was great. Then back to the front staff where I waited again for 15 minutes and then told that I owed money from an appointment 11 months ago. I have been to the office 5 times since then and never been told about this. My bad situation got worse which i won't even go into. The service was more than poor. I love the doctors but a two hour visit does not fit my schedule.

Dr. Han Vonnahme performed his anual examination, this is normal. Where Dr. Vonnahme excelled was in allowing me to be seen on a short notice, the office was busy but with my extremely busy schedule, this was the only time I had. The office staff and Dr. Vonnahme were accomadating and always treated me with a friendly and welcoming demeanor . The office environment is relaxing and all Vonnahme staff are a pleasure to do business with.

I really appreciate all the pleasant people who work at Vohnnahm. The doctors and the staff take as much time as necessary to answer questions and make sure I have a full understanding of my ocular health and my optometric correction options. The opticians do not rush to get on to the next customer - I had all the time I needed to make choices and be confident with the glasses I was selecting. This is one of the only places in Western MA where the top level progressive lenses are available and they were what I needed for satisfactory vision correction.

Taking My Business Elsewhere--while Dr Chute seemed very knowledgeable and walked me through all of the testing, I can not say the same for the office staff. Billing has been messed up more than once, including "forgetting " to tell me about a remaining balance on my account. Someone also entered my contact prescription incorrectly last year and I was supposed to be satisfied with "sorry, it happens to the best of us." During multiple phone calls, no one seemed to be sincere about apologizing for mistakes. Needless to say, I will not be returning to their offices and caution anyone else considering making an appointment at Vonnahme.

The overall experience was excellent as usual. I have been to three eye doctors in my life and this is by far my favorite. Thanks so much for excellent care!!! The staff is always extremely friendly and accommodating. Not to mention they all are extremely well dressed (besides the point).

Vonnahme Eye Care was the first place I chose for eye exams and I've had such wonderful experiences with them that I know I'll never need to try a different option for my eye health. I went to see Dr. Chute because I was having flashing in my eye, after a quick exam, she determined I had a small tear or hole in my retina, and immediately called the New England Retina Center. I had to have my prescription adjusted after I received my new glasses recently. From the doctor to the office personnel I was extremely happy with the care they exhibited in understanding my issues. They listened and got the correct lenses for me as well as allowing me to change the frame since I expressed my concern that the shape my be part of the issue. Not once did I feel they were "put-off" with my situation.

The receptionist at the front desk gave me a wrong quote...instead of subtracting the discount, she added the discount into the quote increasing it by $24 rather than subtracting that amount. The quote should have been $264 instead of $312, a substantial difference that I only noticed when I ordered from another company online. I might have ordered right then and there from you had it not been for the error. But it happens...won't hold it against you. It was for contact lenses. All in all, the service was great and I appreciated the flexibility of the office.

The staff was extremely professional knowledgeable, helpful, pleasant, efficient - exceptional! I have had some trouble being able to focus on close up objects. when I try to read the image goes double, I was reading with one eye shut. I was having trouble doing the paperwork at my job and I stopped reading on my free time altogether. During my eye exam the doctor recommended a prism correction, it's been about two weeks now and I'm happy to say I can read again. Thank you Vannahme eye care.

Why do I HAVE to write a review? This box should be optional. But, since I have to, I guess I will say that A) it would've been appreciated if the doctor I saw for my last exam, who convinced me to try hard lenses instead of soft, had told me that there was a good chance I'd always have to deal w/ seeing some portion of the edge of the lens, especially after blinking. That's not just "something to get used to" in my opinion; that significantly effects vision (especially when the light refracts and causes a larger-than-normal and brighter-than-normal spot of light) and would make for a very dissatisfying experience—EVERYtime they were worn. B) after my fitting (yesterday) the doctor explained the cleaning process for the hard lenses. I was pretty sure I had it down, but the lady at the desk (who had originally been teaching me how to insert/remove the new lenses and said she'd explain the cleaning to me) asked if I was comfortable with it when I was leaving and I said it wouldn't hurt for her to run through it for me to really stick it in my memory. Interestingly enough she not only told me something glaringly different from what the doctor said, she told me literally the exact OPPOSITE. I read the instructions, the lady at the desk was correct—NOT the doctor.

Waiting in a uncomfortable chair in a room that was stuffy dark and boaring. It needs pictures on the wall and a TV if the doctors are running that far behind. it was very claustrophobic. It would also be helpful if it could be communicated before an exam if there is a procedure or test that will be done that is not usually covered by insurance. The last time I was there, I was surprised with at $250.00 that I wasn’t expecting.

Great experience. The process was efficient and the staff was very nice. DM gave me a complete understanding of what my benefits would provide for and what options I had to choose from. I liked the fact that Dr. Vonnahme explained my vision correction options to me and allowed me to determine the course of my prescription with her input. The trial contacts were very helpful in determining my final lens and prescription and I like the 10% discount option. My only suggestion is that you may want to alert customers to this offering before they arrive so they can be prepared for the cost up front (I ordered daily contacts - usually get them from Costco every 3 months at $45/box. But your great staff & service + 10% off and DM's explanation of why it is better to order through you convinced me that the extra $10 per box was well worth it.) I have already suggested your office to several folks! Thank you

WE were reffered to you by Pioneer Valley Eyecare of Holyoke, both myself and my brother think they are great. My daughter (12years old) is a first time eyeglass wearer, she is not comfortable with glasses so Pioneer refered us to you. I called and explained and made a appointment for a contact fitting, a couple days before the appt. I recieved a call asking to rebook, we did. On the day of the visit we were treated like this was a full eye exam, I explained we were only in for contacts, they apoligized. We then started the contact fitting, after a hour or so it didn't work out. Whoever was working with my daughter kept leaving her to tend to other people. Now we have another appt.

There was another lady shopping for glasses and she was tended to very well they even tried to convince her about why she should get the most expensive brand. very sad. Sorry I was not impressed. I was going in for my annual checkup. The appointment was fine, but the scheduling system needs to be looked at and possibly revamped. I was a few minutes late for my appointment, but still sat and waited for 25 minutes to be seen, and then I spent at least 20 minutes waiting in the exam room for the doctor. All told, I was there for an hour and fifteen minutes, and only spent about 15 with the actual doctor.

I made my appointment via online appointment maker on your website. The first time I made an appointment, the office got back to me a week out saying that that there was no doctor available for my time. I made another appointment and the day before I was called to rearrange my appointment again. I did so and waited 30 minutes before being seen The timliness of being seen has been an issue before. I understand things come up, but this is a pattern. I really like your practice, therefore I have been understanding, but it is annoying.

I don't think you'll want to post this to Google. My experience was not good. I made a 10:45 appointment on February 12th for Fundus Photography that was recommended at the time of my eye exam 6 weeks earlier and to order some single lens computer glasses. (I was very clear on the phone why I was making the appointment) When I got there no one seemed to know why I was there and I left over an hour later to try to make it to a business appointmnet without being able to place my order for glasses. At this point I have to either make another appointment with you to get my glasses or find another optician and have all my records transfered. I am very disappointed.

The thing that shoots puffs of air into the eyes has got to go. All of my friends/family/coworkers say their eye doctors don't do it anymore, and I'm always so jealous! Though, to my knowledge, I'm the only one who can make appointments online, and the only one that gets email/text notifications/reminders, so technically I'm still ahead!

A few minutes later I was brought into the exam room and the doctor was very pleasant and took the time to explain to me about my issue in details I could understand clearly. I came to your office especially for high definition progressive Izon lenses but discovered the company was not producing lenses at this time. You office was listed on the Izon site as being the only one in Western MA to provide this special exam and lenses. I was guided to consider other options I hope will properly correct my vision and m waiting for my new contact lenses to arrive.

I wish that, before my appt day, when I asked to be called back with my copay amount, and told them I was interested in contacts, they would have told me that the copay for contacts was $55. Instead I was told what my copay for a regular appointment only, which was $10. All I brought was $10 and I had to leave my appointment with nothing, still blind because my Insurance doesn't allow me to get both contacts and glasses and I want contacts. I told the front desk when I got there that I wanted contacts, spent my whole visit learning about them, and got really excited. Just to be told what the copay is at the last second. $55?!? Tell people that BEFORE they get there! I can't beleive I wasted my time and the last $10 I had.

I did not think I needed to be seen again with these particular lenses in my eyes. My understanding was I just had to notify the office my choice between the newer lenses compared to my past lenses. The whole processe took too long as the office forgot to order the Purevision 2 at the earlier appointment. Came up to the office one time and was not seen as the lenses were never ordered. Wasted my time as I have to arrange for the car I share with my husband. Irritated with the whole situation. Its over now but I was not comfortable with the office as I have been in the years I have been with the practice.

To be honest, I was very upset that I received 3 txt messages then 2 emails and two phone calls to confirm my appointment. And needed to wait for more than 45 minutes for my appointment. I did receive good service but you wanted me there, and when I had to wait it was very upsetting.

I have been a customer of theirs for many years and this is the first time where I felt that Dr. V. went out of his way to make me feel appreciated and satisfied. His "bedside manner" has improved markedly, where in the past I felt little or no empathy....like I was just another person being churned through a mill. Kudo's to Dr. V. for the improvement.

As always at my appointments, everyone has been extremely pleasant and knowledgable. Any time I have had a lens "issue" it was taken care of promptly. Before my first appointment 2 years ago I had just moved to this area and only had my insurance list to go by to pick a facility. I am so glad I picked Dr(s) Vonnahme and will always conyinue with them for my eye care. I find them very knowledgable on new eye care products for me personally and I would, and have recommended them to friends and relatives. Thank you so much to the Vonnahme team.

I had a 4:15 appt and was not see till 5:00. I understand that appt's sometimes run late, but if I had known, I could have worked longer and taken less vacation time. I've learned going forward to call first and ask if the dr. is running on time.

At Vonnahme Eye Care I felt very comfortable. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I was in and out of there in less than an hour for an exam and choosing eye wear. They have a large selection, though not much variety (perhaps just due to today's styles). I would recommend Vonnahme to anyone!

I was fitted with a trial pair of contacts to be reviewed in a week. The receptionist told me if I bought a year supply of lenses that day only, I would receive a discount. Why on earth would I buy a year supply of lenses I am not sure even work for me? I asked would I get the discount a week later after seeing the doctor again and she said no. That is ridiculous. I will buy my lenses elsewhere. Also, a $110 contact fitting fee. Wow! I will look elsewhere for that also. I am an established patient whose fitting needs havent changed. $110? Seriously?

Routine exam. Generally, it does not take long but the doctor explained that he had complicated cases in the morning. Otherwise, he is very quick and always very professional.

Dr. Vonnahme (Mrs.) so rapidly established the prescription I needed even though I'd not brought my old eyeglasses to the appointment. And, unlike experiences with other optometrists, I felt confident the prescription was just right.
