I have been going to Griffin Optometric for about 45 years. I have always felt the staff to be warm, welcoming, and professional. The doctors take their time to discuss any issues and the staff are always ready to do any adjustments necessary to my glasses.

It was my first time visiting Griffin, and everything and everyone was awesome! Love seeing friendly staff that clearly enjoy working with their patients as well as with each other. Their office is beautiful with lots of space and light, and tons of glasses to choose from! Bonus points for making Covid protocols easy as well as for taking the time to make sure everything was extra clean to make everyone feel safe and welcome. Dr. Randy Griffin and staff are all extremely helpful and friendly. Normally when visiting other offices I feel rushed. However, Dr. Randy really takes his time with me and thoroughly explains all tests and the overall structure of the eye to me. I am a "more details the better" type of person so I really appreciate that he takes the time to do this.

There are not enough words to describe how terrific everyone in the office is. They are courteous and efficient. The associate that assisted me was knowledgeable about the products and very helpful with my frame selection. The assistant that did my tests was very personable (which, in my book, is essential). And Dr. Randy, as usual, was professional and thorough. He is a delight to have as a doctor. I could not be more pleased with my visit yesterday! Special note...they are on top of it with Covid prevention measures.

Dr Lucy and the staff that helped me order glasses are so friendly and helpful and take as much time as you need. The only negative thing I would say is that the prices for glasses are quite a bit higher than other optometrists but I’ve been going there for decades and wouldn’t change anything else.

Nothing but a great experience every time! The receptionists, doctors, and people who help pick out frames, I feel like I am in great hands at Griffin Optometric! The facility is clean and has updated technology to give the best care. Prices are reasonable. I don’t feel rushed with the doctor and he is patient and helpful during my exams. I had an issue with my insurance and the receptionist was knowledgeable and helpful and went above and beyond to settle the matter. I have worn glasses since elementary school and have dealt with places price gauging, bad service, or being not informative enough, so I am happy I found this place!

My favorite Optometrist assistant is Jim at the Talega office ... he is purely awesome! I have popped into all 3 locations over the years to pick up contacts and everyone has been lovely. In January 2020, I was able to make my vision 2020 with Lasik. I went through NVision who works with Griffin Optometric's. I'm a new patient to this practice. Needed to have my eyes checked as it had been two years since my last exam when I was told the pressure in my left eye was a little high. Dr. Callister and his staff gave me a series of tests which showed the pressure was indeed increasing. He discussed all my options and we decided it was a good time to start some eye drops to lower the pressure. Very pleased with my care as he the staff were friendly but also very professional. I highly recommend them.

The office staff and Dr. Randy are amazing. Very kind, very personable. I always leave feeling great, which is exactly what you want in a doctor. I am a healthcare provider myself, and I pay very close attention to the cleanliness of offices and the hygiene practices of the staff; they are doing everything right. They also have some great cutting edge technology. Cash pricing is very fair. Their selection of glasses is better every year. I'll definitely keep coming back.

The Doctors at that this location have always been amazing! My last visit was a shock in the service I received from the front office. I was the only patient in the waiting room as I watched the office staff small talk and my appointment starting 30 minutes late. The actual eye exam was great and doctor Lucy really took her time and listened to my needs. After my appointment, even after Dr Lucy asked the front office staff directly to help me. Once again avoided me as if I didn’t exist. I love supporting local but this will be my last visit.

Dr Randy is awesome, the scheduling staff not so much. Let me sum it up this way. Last week I had an appointment and I was running late. I literally ran out of a meeting to drive to their office from SD and then hit some thick traffic on I5-N. I called from the car to tell the office I would be 10-15 minutes late and was informed that I would need to reschedule... Great - I cut a work meeting short for nothing. Apparently they make it a priority to close shop at 5:30 PM. I was rescheduled for the following week and I arrived on time. I then waited for 15 minutes in the waiting room before having the preliminary tests completed. I was then asked to wait in the exam room and was informed they were a little behind schedule. After a short while I was asked to leave the exam room to make it available for another patient who was already being seen. After another short wait Dr Randy and I finally met in the exam room... It seems that when the roles are reversed it is perfectly acceptable to have the patient wait for the service provider. Customer service just seems amiss, and something about the way this all went down really rubs me the wrong way.

I am a patient of Griffin Optometric in San Clemente. On Friday, March 1st, I walked in without an appointment due to a very painful eye infection. I was in front of Dr. Callister within 10 minutes of walking in the door. Dr. Callister was thorough, gentle and kind. He was able to diagnose the problem almost immediately and had me on my way with two prescriptions and instructions to use warm compresses. All worked...now, four days later, my eye is much better and I am no longer in any pain. I would highly recommend Griffin Optometric to anyone seeking great health care for your eyes...which is kind of a big thing. Thank you, Dr. Callister and also a shout out to Samantha at the front desk. She was so kind to me when I came in. Took one look at my eye and told me a Doctor would be with me in 10 minutes.

I enjoy the office, the doctors, and the service I get every time I come in. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. I was a bit annoyed at my last visit because I was charged for a contact fitting fee, when I did not try on new contacts, or do anything different. I agreed to the charging of the photo of my eye, but did not realize I would be charged for a contact fitting, for contacts I have been wearing for over a year. I have been charged in the past, but I have also tried out different contacts before landing on the type that I have now, I felt that was a reasonable charge since I was trying different brands out. I think there needs to be a bit more transparency about what I'm going to get charged for before the visit.

I was going ask for and appointment but instead was offered an appointment in 30 minutes if I could wait. OH YES! Shopping on Del Mar, nor problem. 30 minutes later I was taken back, given a vision evaluation and told my concerns. Dr. Randy was there almost immediately. We discussed the issues, he decided to change the lens and gave me a new one to try . As usual, the problem seems to have been solved. This is personal care at its max. Thanks Griffin Optomentric!!! I have been going to Griffin Optometric Group for 24 years. Wouldn't go to anyone else. I live in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and Huntington Beach, California. I always plan my once a year eye exams when I am in California. I drive from Huntington Beach to the Griffin Optometric Group in San Clemente once a year, and it's worth the drive. The entire staff is fabulous, professional, and very personable. S Randall Griffin is great, he is very thorough when it comes to my eyes, and I put my total trust in him. I have already scheduled my next years eye exam way ahead of time. Next year will be my 25th year there.
