I had requested an office visit. I was called the day before and was asked if I could do virtual. I said no- I want office visit. I was then asked to maybe come is earlier - I declined due to work. Day off, I’m called again and was asked if I could do virtual. I decline the woman then says I might prefer due to traffic? I am 10 min away and said I prefer face to face -dr needs to check my b/p and weight an so on. I prefer fade to face- responds was “don’t you have a scale at home? Just weigh your self and let dr know” I am so disappointed In the office staff and the last few appointments. I find this comment very rude. I gave in for a virtual appt. This appt was 45 min late and Rushed. It was a 4 pm appt on a Friday so I felt very uncomfortable and did not feel I was getting the same attention as I would have in the office. Lately the appointments have been delayed. Feels like they are over booking and not wanting to see the patients. I’m saying this since I also happened to my friend that goes there as well. If virtual- it should not be the same co pay since there is no office job done.

I tried to get a lab order before my appointment online with the portal and two weeks later with a phone call and never received a response from either. I finally stopped by the office and picked up the lab order from the front desk, went to have the labs done at FHH and was told the order was dated 2019 and unusable. When I saw the doctor for my appointment the labs she looked at were a year old. What a waste of time. I also had to wait more than an hour after my appointment time to see the doctor. Something is totally wrong here with scheduling and phone messages.

This practice has very hard-working and knowledgeable people. The office staff is very friendly and personable as well as being organized toward a good office flow. The wait times are short but allow time to register and give the office staff the data they need for the appointment. Dr. Hiren Shah is my physician, and I could not ask for a doctor who is more efficient during my office visits and more knowledgeable as well as having a wonderful bed-side manner. He answers all of my questions and provides the information and plans and/or tests that I need to follow. The office expertise and efficiency during Covid has been remarkable as well as keeping a very clean, germ-free environment and making patients comfortable. They are all the best!!!

The new gal at the front desk where I checked in was terrific! She smiled and was so very helpful. And, of course I love Dr. Hakim! The issue I do have is the prescription line!!! Whoever is listening to the messages, needs to really listen to them. I have asked someone to call me on several occasions, and instead of someone calling they put a prescription in and it’s wrong! I would also like to say how helpful Nita has been. She has helped me with the last prescription issue and she is a gem!

I have been a patient of Dr. Donelson's for many years. He is always so responsive to my needs and aware of the changes since I had a heart transplant in 2019. I really appreciate telemed calls as I'm immunocompromised and stay home as much as possible. I've had excellent response from Lesa, Dr. Donelson's nurse, and the staff when setting up appointments or when I have questions. I am very satisfied.

FIMES & Dr Shah are like a well oiled machine… from the front desk to the back room… without a doubt….the top medical practice in the County & perhaps the state. My appointment was at 11:45, i checked in at 11:40. I was called after 45 minutes to the dr. Office and again had to wait for 35 minutes to see a dr. Dr. Came but she was not sure about getting my lab results. Dr. Went out to check with her staff and then the nurse tried get my results. So I am trying to say please respect others time as well and be organized and prepared in advance for the patient coming in. Thank you@

The doctor was incredible. She diagnosed me when nobody has for years. However… it takes weeks to get a return phone call, the pharmacist called to ask a question 9 days ago and they can’t get a response either. I also had to wait 2 hours for my appt. It is so frustrating to find a doctor I feel could really help me yet I can’t get the medicine she prescribed or even talk to an office staff member because nobody returns phone calls. I am very frustrated

I’ve seen Dr. Hakim for my thyroid disorder for many years. She is very knowledgeable and has an excellent bedside manner. She treats the whole person; not just the disease. My only complaint is that I’m usually seen about 45 minutes to 1 hour after my appointment time. I’m guessing it’s because she has so many patients, and she gives everyone the amount of time they need without rushing through an appointment. Maybe they book too many patients in a day. Regardless, she’s worth the wait.

Receive wonderful care from Dr. Hakim. The wait time recently was unacceptable. Waited too long in waiting room and then even longer in the exam room. Asked the nurse if there was a problem, she said that probably Dr. Hakim had an emergency! I went to leave and the front desk receptionist, Meda was wonderful and calmed me down. She was able to get Dr. Hakim within 4 minutes. If there was an emergency or if the doctor is running over an hour behind, PLEASE notify the patient and ask if they want to wait or reschedule. I understand that things happen, especially in a medical office but don't just leave the patient waiting that long with no explanation!

The phone answering is a BIG problem. If the answer machine is off at 8:30 , you should be able to talk to someone. Having a 9:30 appt, and after having a Pfizer booster the day before, I wanted to cancel my appointment. They would call me back in 24 hours. I was not comfortable, muscle ache , and headache, I made it in to avoid a charge.

The doctor finally called for the appointment at 1:15. No explanation or apology for the unbelievable delay. I feel that this was very inconsiderate and rude. A simple phone call explaining the delay would have gone a long way.

Dr Shah is very knowledgeable and thorough and makes sure you have a complete understanding of your health issue. He is also the only doctor I’ve experienced that personally calls you with results and will make changes right then. I have only had the doctor’s secretary or assistant call and tell me results and if there is to be any medication changes. He called and last night after 6:00 pm for a dosage change. Very personable and actually saw my husband during a follow up appointment at the same time. He keeps very close watch on your well-being and health and will see you in a week, then two weeks twice and then a month. I’m so glad I switched to him from my previous PCP. Best decision ever! Thank you Dr Shah for treating me like a person rather than a file or patient number!

While I very much appreciate and praise Dr. Shah's skills and manner, reviewing my meeting with him or, for that matter, any professional services as though it were a restaurant or a movie makes me feel uncomfortable. Regarding medical issues, I am a patient not a consumer. I do not view seeing a doctor as a commercial interaction. It is necessary for my health. I think this trend cheapens the profession and our - meaning patients - role in it. This is serious stuff, not easily reduced to a "one through ten" grade.

I understand I was her only virtual appointment that day but still feel it wasn't fair to push to me end of her day. If they were going to do that they should of told me instead telling me she running behind all the time. On specific day I had my appointment with Dr. Hakim I had appointment right after her but was force to cancel it last minute because I was originally told she was running late come find out they just kept pushing my appointment later and later with no noticed until I called to find out what was going on.

I have struggled with three things since joining the group as a new patient first: the website claims the office hours begin at 8 am but there is no information indicating that the telephones will not be available until later in the office hours, I have had a problem trying to get into the office to speak to the front desk at 8 am and staff did not pick up the telephone even when you can clearly see them in the office. I am not clear on when telephone hours begin but certainly this should be clear to patients and made clear on the website. secondly: the wait time for your appointment -- heard to imagine -- the fastest appointment I have ever had has been a 50 minute wait time. I think if you want patients to be more satisfied, you may want to alert them to the likely wait time at check in and allow them to use their time more wisely - perhaps consider giving the patients one fo the reservation wands that restaurants use wait listed persons needing a table -- people in downtown Frederick at least can move around freely downtown awaiting their table at the restaurant knowing the "wand" will alert them when their table is finally available. something should be done to make things better for the patients when we arrive "on time" but the provider is not keeping the schedule as expected. third: I came for a Shingles shot -- the first one took 45 minutes to put into my arm - I was told by my doctor to get one and that no appointment would be needed. I was told to just drop in during business hours and all would be well. I called ahead of my arrival and asked again if my dropping by was acceptable and whether a specific time would be best. I was given no instructions to arrive at a "best time" but I can tell you that didn't seem the case with reception upon my arrival. Reception seemed less than pleased and in fact told me I was not there during any of my doctors office hours and seemed disbelieving that i had been instructed to arrive as such.

Dr. Donelson is a caring individual who listens to what you say. He takes time to hear you. I have had him for my Internal Medicine doctor for about 20 years now and still see (and phone) him after I moved 100 miles away. I do have an issue about the timeliness of the office staff returning phone calls -- even if it's just to set up an appointment. At one point, the office had a self scheduling page on the website which i thought was a useful idea but i can't seem to find that any longer. Good doctors, good practice.

Dr. Hakim is the BEST!! She is a wonderful doctor who knows what she is talking about!! She has really helped my thyroid and has helped me to feel better physically and mentally with half a thyroid. She is so nice, down to earth, she listens, she gives good feedback, and she tells me when I need to change my ways (when I am doing things that are not good for me and my thyroid) LOL! She is simply the best and she is a beautiful person inside and out and always has a smile for me. I love her as my doctor. She makes thyroid disease more bearable! Side note: I fell in my driveway before one of my appointments, and I was running late, so I hopped in the car and went. When I got there Dr. Hakim and staff were so attentive to me and my fall. They propped up my leg, gave me something to clean up the road rash, got ice for me and checked it out to make sure it was nothing serious. I can't say enough about this practice, the people, and Dr. Hakim. LOVE THEM!

It was my first in office visit and I was not happy my appointment was at 12 I arrived at 11:45 and was given a pager and told to wait in car until pager goes off. I waited until 12:35!! Pager never went off so I went back in and ask if I was still going to be seen the receptionist called in back and someone came right out. I truly think they forgot about me. Staff was friendly. But I was not happy about the wait. I had another appointment that day and was late.

Dr. Donelson has been very realistic and supportive about my health status and when I can go to work. He has been attentive. I sincerely appreciate this. Many doctors have not been this way. Thanks Dr. Donelson. My only recommendation is with his receptionist. I have called and left messages that is never responded to and I have to make 2-3 calls and it can take up to a week to hear back. It always goes to the voicemail and never do they pick up anymore.

My on line visit the other day was great - - because I didn't have to wait over an hour to be seen. I understand there may be an occasional "emergency" that would cause me to wait, but every single time I have been in the office over the years, the wait has been ridiculous. Also, since there's no where else to leave feedback, I'm adding here that furniture is outdated, worn, torn and uncomfortable in many places. On a positive note, I appreciate the knowledge provided by the doc and PA.

When you first walk in you are welcomed and assisted; and it gets even better from there. The people here are professional and act like they like their jobs and the clients! You don't find this most places. My doctor, Dr. Hakim, is compassionate and listens carefully while I talk. She also she explains and shows me what we are talking about so I don't worry. She monitors my case closely but with confidence and offers me reassurance. I could not be more pleased.

Jenn is great, but if the rest of my family wasn’t treated here, I would go somewhere else. They were over four hours late for my first virtual appointment, and an hour and 15 minutes late for my most recent one. Not to mention it is nearly impossible to schedule because the staff don’t ever answer the phone, but simply put you right in voicemail. It took me multiple messages over 2 weeks to get my last appointment schedule to the point that I was leaving messages saying “please call because I only have 4 days of my prescription left.” Maybe it is a compliment to the drs that they are so busy, but they are clearly overbooking to the detriment of their patients. While I felt that I received proper attention and care when I was finally called for my first appointment, I felt rushed during the last one and as if my concerns went unaddressed.

My call went right to voicemail each time and no one got back to me till 10/19. I love Doctor Shah and the care he gives, but waiting that long for a call back and at the office is ridiculous. I made an appointment for a telemedicine check up and rearranged my work schedule to be available at the appointed time. I did not receive a confirmation call prior to the appointment so the morning of, I called the office to confirm. Despite several attempts, I could only get a voice message that someone would return my call within 48hrs. At 30 mins to the appointment, I still hadn’t heard from anyone so I thought I could be mistaken and it was an in person consultation. When I got the to office they confirmed that is was telemedicine and someone would be in touch shortly. After rushing home (30 min round trip), I did not receive a vitals call from the nurse until 30min following my appointment time. Though she explained the delay and was apologetic, I was still frustrated as I could not get ahold of anyone from the office prior to this call to inform me that there would be a delay. The nurse told me the doctor would contact me shortly. One hour and a 10 minutes past my original appointment time (40 minutes after I spoke to the nurse), the doctor finally called. I could only give her 5 minutes for the appointment as I had a work meeting I had to attend, which I had previously rescheduled due to the original appointment time. Communication from staff at FIMES is much to be desired. All my frustration could have been avoided by having someone that can answer phone calls when they come in. Or if proactive communication when a delay is being experienced has been made.

I highly respect Dr. Hakim and any chance I get, I recommend her. Also, the staff is great, always helpful. The only downside is that Dr. Hakim sometimes is behind on the schedule. However, that being said, what that says to me is that she is there for the patient and not for the clock. Which is the most important. :>

The FIMES office is set up with seats in the waiting room for social distancing. Any overflow patients waited in their cars with a device to notify them when safe space was available in the waiting room. My temperature was checked the minute I arrived. I was very impressed by the staff and comfortable, as I always am, with their efficiency, professionalism, and friendliness. The staff opened any doors for me and helped me avoid touching anything in that office unnecessarily. At the same time, they provided hand sanitizer available for patients all over the office space. They did everything necessary to provide a safe environment for patients. Everything was done in a timely manner as is their usual practice.

Dr. Hiren Shah has been our primary care physician over the past 12 years and will continue to be our physician in the years to come.. Dr. Shah has cared for and seen us through some very difficult medical challenges. During hospitalizations he is "always" the first person early morning to check on us at the hospital. If during an office visit he feels an area of concern needs to be checked out by a physician specializing in the problem area he gives us an immediate referral having staff call the office of the specialist to make an appointment. During this pandemic Dr. Shah has made it a point to stay in touch with us ensuring we are o.k. Will never change physicians. He's the best.
