I would like to start by saying that Dr. Mangal is a fantastic physician. He took the time to explain my condition as well as the options I had for resolution. However, my appointment scheduling experience has been beyond frustrating. On the day of my new patient appointment I was at the office for 6 hours. I was informed ahead of time that the appointment would last about 3 hours due to the viewing of a video on endometriosis and infertility. While I did find the video informative, I do not understand why a copy of the video cannot be sent via email to patients ahead of time. I waited as all of the new patients for the day were seen. If the movie had been sent ahead of time I could have been scheduled appropriately and could have avoided at least part of the 6 hour wait. The time commitment for my pre-op appointment was also insufficiently explained to me. I was never told that I would need to have blood work done as well as an EKG. I understand the necessity of these tests prior to surgery but it would have been useful to know that they were required when I checked into the Women’s Hospital so that I could have allotted the time necessary. Dr. Mangal was out of town on the date of my post-op appointment. However, I never received a call from anyone at the office to reschedule my appointment. I knew he was out of town because he mentioned it to my husband shortly after I got out of surgery. When I called to reschedule Nurse Angela said that I had never been on the schedule in the first place. Similar scheduling mishaps and wait times have continued to be a trend. I recently waited 2 hours to be seen for an ultra sound. That is 2 hours that I could have been at work. I understand that Dr.’s offices are busy and that emergencies arise, but there seems to be a larger scheduling problem with this office specifically. I sincerely hope to see a change in the scheduling process and wait time in the future.

Infertility is already an overwhelming and scary prospect. Dr. Mangal's team is comforting and very efficient. We came an hour before our scheduled appointment time and they were able to accommodate us and send us off to the lab and to ultrasound so that we weren't waiting around doing nothing. It made the transition smooth and a little less frazzling. A very nice office in a very nice building. We wouldn't hesitate to refer friends and family here.

A lot of Dr. Mangal's clients are scheduled for 7:00 am but the registration staff do not come in until 7:30am. Also, if a sign in sheet is placed so that all of us arriving may sign in and in this way people do not get jumped/passed by others that arrive at later time.

Dr. Grunert was very helpful, informative and caring - as usual!!! His nurses Erica and Nancy were both very pleasant, answered my questions thoroughly and made me feel comfortable. A super team! The Breast Center staff could learn a lot from Dr. Grunert and his team. Patti (at Breast Center) was wonderful but the front desk reception needs attention and lessons in customer care.

I still haven't heard from the scheduling department about my laparoscopy, and I've left two messages. One Friday and one this morning. More comprehensive follow-up and explanations of test results would be very helpful to patients like me who are new to the infertility world. During this last visit, Dr. Dunn shared new information with me about my HSG results from last year. I'm curious why this wasn't explained in full detail after the HSG was performed, including the increased chances that both of my tubes might be tied off. After my HSG, I was told I needed a laparoscopy as a follow-up but didn't know any of the details, what the process entailed, or what to expect from a financial perspective. I proactively reached out to schedule this last appointment because I was unclear about the next steps, and I wasn't expecting new news about my condition. I'm still unclear how much it will cost for the surgery.

The physician looked at everything from a very negative aspect. Even with my history of not having ANY fertility issues. It seemed like he only wanted to do PGD/IVF because he would make more. Not that is was the best option for me. I wish I would have seen Dr. Dunn instead. I was highly discouraged from the information he provided. He basically followed a script and did not look at me as an individual. HIGHLY dissaris

Better respect of people's time. I realize that doctors offices run behind, however it makes me hesitant to spend $20000 cash at your facility if I am going to have to wait over 30 min at each apt. One would assume that most of your patients are educated and well employeed people thus living busy lives. So my suggestion is to improve efficiency of the office.

My first visit with Dr. Mazur this past Monday went well. However, dealing with the scheduling and nursing staff in the last 2 days have been horrific. It took over a day for Brenda to respond to my question through the portal. On top of that, I had to leave about 5 messages today just trying to schedule appointments and talk to a live person. For a patient going through fertility treatments, I expect your staff to respond more timely to patient's questions either by phone or via portal. I hope I see a turnaround in the efficiency of the scheduling and nursing staff since I'm just starting my first cycle with Dr. Mazur.

As I was checking out, I asked the ladies behind the counter if I needed to do lab work. They said, "there isn't anything marked on your sheet." They asked if I wanted them to double check and I said yes. Turns out, I did have lab work that was supposed to be done that day. I was extremely disappointed that my nurse neither marked that I needed labs nor verbally told me. Had I not asked the question, I'm sure I would have had to wait another month to do any treatment. The only reason it even occurred to ask is because I have been through 1 cycle of Clomid/ IUI before, in 2013. I know that my journey is ultimately in my hands, but I was very disappointed that this happened. I will still continue to use FSH (I have my son now due to my IUI performed there), I just now feel like I have to question everything that is part of the process.

Most Docs that are brilliant do not have good bed side manner but that is NOT the case here, Dr. Dunn is literally the best doctor I have ever had and I have had a lot over the years. Then once my visit was over with the Dr. It took to long for the ladies to get me my medical records back and the form to get blood work. I waited about 20 minutes for that, which is extremely too long. I'm in the medical field so I know exactly how long these things should take.

I've been a patient of Dr. Grunert's for almost 38 years. He was recommended to me, along with TX Women's Hospital, by a friend in early 1977. I would not have remained so long if I'd not been completely satisfied I was getting excellent care.

I do understand that there are times when unexpected things happen and appointments may run late. However, as I already called 30 min prior to the appointment to confirm the appointments were on time, I thought it was very unexpected to have to wait 35 minutes after my arrival. Furthermore, I was not informed that I had to complete a saliva lab that would require a 30 minute fasting. Had I drank anything during the 35 min wait, I would have had to come again later for the test. I hope for our next appointments, a nurse could let me know what exactly I need to do in preparation for the appointment.

The scans are always on time, but appointments with Dr. Dunn are not. Please schedule accordingly so that we do not wait 20+ minutes. We miss work and/or have to leave early from work to visit with Dr. Dunn. Overall, our visits have been quite pleasant and welcoming by all staff. Thank you all for all that you do!

I felt the dr was condescending and didn't really listen to my concerns. I felt like the dr projected that I was wasting her time since I was not being seen for fertility help. I left with zero answers to my concerns and feeling stupid. Dr. schenk can highly recommended, but I will not be back to pursue my options, I'll find someone with better bedside manner.

We saw Dr Mazur and he was wonderful. Getting in touch with scheduling or following up with scheduling procedures etc. has been very difficult and very stressful though which makes me rate my experience less. I know Dr Mazur is new to the practice but there was no option to get a hold of his nursing staff so I had to call literally five times today to get a hold of someone to help me schedule a procedure. That alone is very stressful as I work full time so do not have 2 hours a day to call back to the office. Also, the first time I tried to schedule my initial visit, I waited for literally 20 minutes on the phone and still no one answered my call. I finally left a message and they eventually called me back a couple of hours later, but the clinic appears to be very understaffed. I do very much appreciate Dr Mazur and his consultation so would rate him at five stars, practice just needs better logistical staff as struggling with infertility is stressful enough, but more so when you don't have the clinical support.

I would have liked for Dr. Dunn or the nurse to better explain the side effects and instructions for the medications I was prescribed. We receive a lot of information verbally, and it's difficult to process everything at once, so it would be very helpful to be able to rely on instructions straight from the doctor. This comment is more for the entire Texas Women's Facility. Parking at 10:45AM on 9/10/14 was horrid. Valet was over run. Attendants running, the circle was double parked. The cause Was most likely because ALL the spots infront were taken with A dozen or so circling waiting for a spot. I have a full size van And was apprehensive of the parking garage height. Good thinking Of the planners to make it 7 foot something. Cars were circling There too. I eventually got a spot on the roof as another vehicle left. Parking was stressful. Overall I am happy with my experience so far. One improvement I could recommend would be regarding the Nurse line. I feel it would strongly improve coordination of care if there were a person to answer that line when a patient calls. I realize the office is incredibly busy. I work in the operating room as an anesthetist 5 days per week so my opportunities to make phone calls or answer calls is limited. I find that the leave a message and call back system creates some difficulties. I find myself feeling guilty that I can't answer when the nurses call back sometimes 3 hours later. They are always ready to help when we do finally connect. I just feel that the process could be streamlined.

I waited nearly two hours to see the doctor the first time. I declined certain items on my forms yet I have received harassing phone messages and emails from Consyl group stating that I now owe them money for a service I did not consent to nor was aware that my information was disseminated to. The ultrasound visit was horrific. Carmen was extremely rough and said it was my fault it hurt since I had a retroverted uterus (first time hearing that) and she screwed up on the ultrasound that I heard her arguing in the room next door. She complained the whole time she did the procedure and then she had to redo it and still there was an issue with her test. I left a message to speak with the doctor about this experience and it has been weeks and no one has returned my call. This is already a stressful experience and this office and staff (other than front desk) have made this as uncomfortable and stressful as possible.

One thing that I might have had go differently was that after my appointment, I asked a nurse to call in my prescription to my mail order company. A hassle, yes, but the only way insurance will cover my prescriptions. She said she would and ends up she did not. I had to call and follow up to ask again, when another bees took care of it for me. It ended up being ok bc I didn't need the meds the next day, and could wait for an overnight delivery, but it would have been frustrating to not have the medicine hen I needed it bc a nurse did not follow thru like she said she would. No big deal. I very much like all the nurses in the office. But this was something I felt could have been handled better. Thank you for your understanding.

It's bad enough having to visit a specialist especially a fertility doctor to have to deal with such a horrible person. Compassion needs to be instilled in her or his practice is in trouble. He is awesome and caring and you can tell he enjoys what he does. However, that lady is bad.

Had bloodwork twice and both times people didn't call. First time I was told someone will call you in the morning. I didn't get my results until I called in the afternoon. The following time I was told come before 11 and you'll get same day results. I drug my two toddlers out in rush hour traffic in order to get bloodwork in the morning and I didn't get results until I called the following day. Not sure why I keep going in for bloodwork and no one will tell me that it's obviously not a viable pregnancy. If it wasn't for the internet, I'd have no idea that something's not right with this. I feel like I'm not being educated on my situation. Also, I'm curious why progestrone wasn't checked the second time especially since the nurse finally informed me progestrone along with HCG levels might indicate ectopic pregnancy. That's the reason why I was there because I'm at greater risk for ectopic pregnancy. The first nurse told me progestrone was fine the first time bloodwork was done so I wouldn't be put on it but second nurse told me that it was low. That's very confusing.

When walking to treatment rooms the nursing where they talk and eat is exposed and I feel that gives office an unprofessional look. Was also left in room a couple of times without any indication of what was going on. Front desk staff are not polite. When I answered a question, I was made to feel like I lied in my response. Everything that I handed directly to staff was placed placed on counter instead handed back to me. I feel if I'm polite and respectful to you, please show me the same. I did have a nice conversation with Kim, but that's after I reached out to her to insure coverage. After counseling me about diet, exercise & he changed my medicine from Metformin to Metformin ER I WAS PREGNANT THE NEXT MONTH! The nurse Veronica she was also very sweet and attentive. Now that I'm pregnant I will be going to an OB, but at my last visit when I was telling Dr. Dunn & Veronica bye for now. I dreaded it so much. They are two people that I will always hold close to my heart. Which doesn't make sense because I need time to plan my schedule, ask for time off, find a ride. I had to call and leave several messages before someone called me back. I wish the nurses line would have someone actually picking up the phone instead of the automated service and then receiving a call back. I do understand that it might be more efficient to receive a call, do your research and then call the patient back. I personally hate talking to machines especially when it involves my health. I need compassion and understanding. Overall, the service was fine. I would go back.

So I'm left wondering if I should call back and let Dr.Dunn know that I did not receive the care I was expecting or simply ignore it and move on and my my vitamin d levels are ok. Perhaps she did not hear his instructions carefully or there was a miscommunication. However, I will continue to see Dr. Dunn in the future if needed.

My boyfriend and I left feeling confused and that he could have emailed or called us regarding the results if we weren't going to get any of further information about what the results meant for us. We felt like the visit was only to get a co-pay. On top of everything, the doctor kept offering prescriptions for symptoms I didn't have yet. That left us feeling like he just wanted out money. I will be going to another fertility facility for another opinion and mostly for more information/explanation.

I left without a specimen cup for my husband or clear instructions on what he needed to do and without a prescription I needed. I think if there was a plan that could quickly be typed out for a patient that would help. In hind sight I should have had my husband there for an extra set of ears. I feel as though if I had to regurgitate the information back to him that I could not ( he is a GI oncologist).

Our fertility doctor and his experience is paramount and we are very happy with him. That being said, the rest of the process is harrowing especially the financial part. Their financial/administrative office is absolutely awful at communicating and helping understand the costs associated with the ARC package we bought and all other costs outside of our package. We are truly unhappy that to date, we have still not received an itemized listing of all procedures and costs. Fertility is a hard road to travel but it certainly does not help when the financials are not clear and they do not bother helping to explain. It's additional stress we don't need from them, especially since we are spending over $53,000. :(

It would be nice to see a warm smile especially when couples come in anxious, frustrated and close to being hopeless. Overall, I still like coming to this clinic and will recommend it to friends.

My only complaint is that his current nursing staff, in particular Erica, are really lacking in bedside manners. Erica has been rude and condescending on the phone and in person. Had I encountered Erica 8 years ago when we first began our infertility treatment I would have found a different physician. I miss Theresa and Renee. I chose 5 stars because of Dr. Grunert.

I would say my visit with the dr was average, or just below. I am always given a good perspective on my situation, however, I do not feel I receive a "holistic" approach...not even from a mental standpoint, but from a physical standpoint. However, the nursing staff is incredible and super compassionate and friendly.

The doctor is very rude and belittling. I often avoid conversation with him because if his mouth is open for 2 minutes, its a guarantee he will start insulting me. We have waited more than 12 years and it's exciting to be where we are. The front desk personnel was not friendly as I would have expected. They seemed quite overwhelmed with patient phone calls and scheduling appointments. The yound lady that helped us at check-in was quite irritated, frustrated and never smiled until we sat down to complete our paperwork and she was among her own co-workers. While I can fully understand that being in the front office can be overwhelming at times it is extremely important to make patients feel comfortable and welcomed. We as patients have different stories but our struggle is all the same. The last thing we want is our first impression of a highly recommended practice to be unsatisfactory.

His staff has been this biggest problem for me in that they fail to follow up regarding scheduling dates and times as well regarding general questions. While I understand she is busy and perhaps understaffed her tone was rude and dismissive. I believe dr. Mangal is a great surgeon I believe he should investigate the impact that his incompetent staff has on his patients in terms if stress levels and retention.

The area I think needs help is the customer service on the phones. Not so much the front desk, but more the nurse. She gave me incorrect information stating I had to go see another specialist first, become his patient, in order to get the post surgery perscription that I needed (Lupron). I went to the gastroenterologist, became his patient, and he said-No, I wouldn't know anything about Lupron and that Dr. Grunert would need to assign this. Also, when I call often times I am sent through a loop of transfers/voicemails/ and the nurses always have to call me back. Since I work during the day it is hard to get the information and we end up playing phone tag.

Hey, I have breast cancer. I don't feel sorry for myself and I'm not a shrinking violet. I did however, take offense to the comment by my physician that "IF I ever meet Mr. Wonderful..." Pretty harsh stuff. Also, when I enquired about whether my insurance would cover any of the costs and the physician scoffed and said, "your insurance is spending thousands of dollars to cure you of cancer. They are certainly not going to spend more to help you have a baby." Yikes. Thanks for the reality check. My visit only got better when I was instructed to go back into the cubes to discuss payment... So I went back there to the woman I was supposed to see who immediately told me she was leaving for lunch and thrust some pamphlets to a young woman two cubes away who gave them to me and wrote a price down on a post it and slid it toward me. I'm assuming she learned this from a car dealership... Anyway, I inquired about payment options and was told there were none. Sheesh.

Dr. Chauhan is wonderful. I saw him initially for an IUI while trying to conceive following a full-term stillbirth. Dr. Chauhan has been so sensitive to my situation and makes me feel very comfortable at each visit, even though this is a tremendously difficult and painful time for me. He always answers all of my questions, I have never felt rushed, and I have never had to wait past the time that my appointment was scheduled. I would recommend Dr. Chauhan to any of my friends and family.

I had an excellent experience, but I do have a couple of comments. Dr.Dunn stated that I should start folate ASAP and that I would be given a prescription at my appointment, but I didn't receive a prescription for a folate supplement. Also, at the end of my appointment, it was not clear if FSH would contact my my previous Dr. to get my records transferred to FSH or if this would be my responsibility. Thank you.

Exploring fertility options can be an emotional and scary experience. The doctors and staff at Fertility Specialists of Houston are excellent at explaining the process and exploring the options. When I asked friends for referrals when we started looking, everyone who got pregnant said they loved their doctor. I wanted a doctor I knew was really good and focused on what they do, so I could know if we were successful or not, we did everything we could. My husband and I could not have asked for a better experience.

Must say that I love the online patient portal - itmakeslife so much easier. Here are some suggestions - 1) I think it would help to have more information during checkout - like which of the prescribed procedures/tests/medications are covered by my insurance, etc. All I was told at check-in was - "you know this is not covered by insurance, right?". I thought that was way too generic, knowing that my insurance covers certain tests based on how they are coded. 2) Tried calling the Finance dept, and they never returned my call. Overall, more clarity about finances is expected, since most insurance plans (if not all) do not cover a lot of this. By being transparent about finances, unnecessary stress can be avoided for patients who are already struggling with fertility issues.

The computer had my file locked which was not their fault but the process was not as streamlined as when I saw Dr. Dunn. The nurse did not take my blood properly and blood shot out and left a bruise. They had me go talk to the financial officer and i should not have been put in that position, just various thinks that irked me.

My appointment with the Dr. Dunn was excellent. This is all very new to me, and I'm a visual person, so I would have benefited from having a general list/timeline of treatments and their cost (if not covered by insurance). After I left, I found I was a bit confused on everything since it is a lot of information to take in. I found the first waiting area a bit chaotic. When I checked in, it was hard to hear what the girl at the front desk was telling me since she sat very closely to another girl. With all of the girls at the front desk assisting patients at once and simultaneously doing other things (trying to be efficient which is commendable), it didn't make for a very relaxing environment. (And, I was definitely in need of a relaxing environment that day since I had got in a minor fender bender on the way to my appointment.) Overall, it was a good visit. My recommendations are minor. :)

I had an appointment the week before, and I was placed in an examining room after waiting for over an hour. I waited in the examining room for about half an hour and had to leave before I saw the doctor because I had to go to work. I had to make another appointment for the following week.The only thing I don't like about seeing Dr. Grunert is the wait time. Your patients have other obligations and time constraints. It is not only the doctor whose time is valuable. I drive 32 miles to see Dr. Grunert because I believe he is a good doctor, but I wish you will schedule so my whole morning is not wasted.
