I have been a decades long patient. Dr Thames diagnosed an eye condition in my son that another doc never did, when he was about 9 years old and is now in his 40’s. It is important to me that medical professionals listen to patients and this practice makes a point of doing that. Also I appreciate the modern equipment and techniques used here. The front desk people are friendly; the entire staff is caring and knowledgeable.

Office is very inviting and clean, the receptionists have a smile on their face and are friendly. All, and I mean all my questions were answered in a way I understood. I believe I got real honest answers to which frames looked the best on me. In my option there is not a person in this office that does not have your best interest at heart.

The folks at Vision Source of Spencer are the best! Everyone is so friendly and pleasant! Dr. Cerio is very knowledgeable and caring. She spends as much time with me as I need. Emily is great, too, and so helpful when it comes to my glasses. I miss Dr. Thamel, but Dr. Cerio is a great replacement!!

Not happy at all with my new prescription or trial contact lenses that were prescribed. The left one is completely blurry and I can not see out of it at all, the doctor wrote axis of 10 on my left eye when it should be axis of 180. I can see better out of my old prescription than this new one. Front desk is rude. Would never want to come back again.

While I found the entire staff friendly and very professional I have to say I supported this business because it was small. I ran my own small business for over 30 years and I believe in supporting small, local businesses. The thing that rubbed me the wrong way was the lack of affordable options. Fortunately, I have the resources to spend 500 dollars after the 225 that my insurance kicked in. When I had a new customer I always made the effort to explain ALL the price options. Also I usually offered a new customer some sort of welcome gift or discount on their first purchase. This helped to build a strong foundation to a new customer relationship. I found this to be completely lacking in my first encounter with Visions.

It took over 3 months to get my glasses. I had to Hound the office to get an update on the status of my glasses. The Dr. Was supposed to call me Bout them and never called me. I fi ally got my glasses and I'm still missing my sun clips and my glasses were wrong. They gave me transition lenses by mistake.

After seeing 3 ophthalmologists who told me they couldn’t help me fix a problem I am having with my eyes, and didn’t even really give me a diagnosis, I saw Dr Lauren Thamel. Not only do I have a diagnosis, but she explained the condition to me and we are working together with eye exercises to address it and reverse it as much as possible. I am very pleased.

Loved the front desk staff and the doctor. Everyone was curtious and very helpful! My only negative was with Stacy, the young lady that fit me for glasses. My experience with her was very rushed and I felt like I was being told what to do, not asked. I left feeling like I made the wrong decision about what I needed and about my very expensive purchase. My mom was the client after me and when she started treating her the same way we politely declined and left. I will definitely be going back as will my mom, however we will be buying our merchandise elsewhere.

All the staff is super friendly and helpful. When I was unsure about what frames to choose everyone was willing to help. I am financially strapped and they worked out a payment plan so I could afford my glasses.

I went to Vision Source of Spencer after a mild stroke to have my eyes checked. The staff from the reception counter on up to Dr. Thamel were accommodating, kind, courteous and professional. I left feeling so much better than when I arrived. Any anxiety I had going in was quickly erased as I went through the examination process. I had not been to an eye doctor in many years and highly recomend Vision Source of Spencer even if you need to drive a few extra miles, they are worth it.

The front desk are nice, eye doctor is nice, glasses specialist is nice, however they are now REQUIRING a $39 eye test instead of doing the dilation that’s included with an eye exam. So you not only have your co-pay but an additional $39 on top…in this economy. We’ll be finding a new eye doctor because we can’t afford this one anymore, unfortunately.

The eye doctor was great , the secretaries are always fantastic as well. I was very disappointed in stacy the person who fits you for your glasses.As soon as she found I was sticking to my Vision plan and wasn’t spending extra money She let me know I could look through two drawers and pick out my own frames .I thought the service was incredibly rude. What stacy didn't know is I have an implant in my spine so for me to stand and go through the glasses was very painful to me. I am also on 2-3 liters of continuous oxygen from rare lung disease . I hadn't brought in my oxygen in to be be fitted for glasses because I usually have to take oxygen off but that isn't the point. Are we all entitled to same customer service regardless of how much money we spend? We are a family of three who gets all vision needs met with you.The gentlemen you had before Stacy was also fantastic. I had to let this be known not just for myself but for anyone else who may be treated less than based on what they spend

The Doctor and the staff were absolutely amazing. My Grandson’s first visit. The experience was so great I made an appointment for one of my Granddaughters and then next my other Granddaughter. I told my son-in-law about our experience and he is going to switch to Vision Source as well as myself. I love that they take our insurances too! My Grandson needed glasses it was a 20.00 copay for a beautiful set. Cannot go wrong here. I give them 10 stars!!!

It is very disappointing when you have a routine appointment and you get no phone call to tell the patient or parent that due to covid they are not doing eye drops (which every other eye Dr is) and I will have to pay for the portion of exam that is needed due to no eyes drop and insurance doesn't cover. When you are a low income family and don't have money to pay for it. This is a low blow and I am very disappointed with this facility and will not be bringing my family back or recommending this facility to anyone at this point. Next time a phone call should be provided especially to families on Mass health and can not afford alternate procedures.

I was greeted in a lovely manner, the woman at the desk was pleasant, courteous and polite. Nicole examined my eyes, totally thorough, explained everything and is a wonderful addition to the practice. This was a great experience!!! My phone experience prior to my appointment was off putting (I almost cancelled)... And eyeglasses! Has that changed?! Nicole brought me over to show where to start (✓) and left me in the capable hands of the gentleman who runs that department. I would have spent my money there but got NO help with selection or feedback. Thankfully, I found a local, small business that appreciates it's customers. I bought 2 pair of glasses!

Dr Cerio and the whole staff were absolutely wonderful to work with! This was our daughter's first ever experience at the eye doctor and they engaged with her and made us all so comfortable. I was personally impressed with their high-end equipment and ability to thoroughly check the health of her eyes without being invasive. Their knowledge compared to other doctors I've been to was superb. Our whole family will now be going to Vision Source Spencer.

Was having a problem with my eye. Felt scratchy and painful. Called Dr Riccardi and they got me in that day. Turns out I had something in my eye. The Dr removed it and there was immediate relief. Prescribed be eye drops and had me come in the next day for a follow up. Felt very well taken care of by staff and Dr R.

I had a really great experience. Kate was great! She was thorough, fun, and compassionate to my needs/concerns as her patient. I'm not pleased. I was not aware of the copay for the service prior to my visit. I felt uncomfortable when i was expected to have exact amount without knowing the amount before (although they did leave balance on my account and i will pay it) When it was time to choose glasses there options were very limited (styles & price points) in my opinion the sales staff/ provider were trying to up sell me with services and prescribed lens they new were not covered in my insurance. I understand how it goes when it comes to production but... I wasn't pleased with the approach, it was wrong. I wish they had giving a cheaper option being that I'm on a fixed income. They should have a pre-treatment estimate typed up for all patients and signed prior to services rendered. The only reason why I am returning is for my trial contacts that were already submitted to my insurance. But once i get my prescription and sizing i will be going else where. sorry not sorry - Nicholas

When we know a patient is coming in for a contact lens exam we always try to inform them of the contact lens fitting fees ahead of time. We apologize that this information was not given when the exam was scheduled. I have been going here for my eye care for almost 30 years, so obviously I am pleased with the service. Two things--the last couple of years I have had to wait at least 30 minutes or more past my appointment time to be seen, even when I had an appointment first thing in the morning. Very frustrating. My time is valuable too. Also--there was some sort of office drama at my last visit, and the women behind the desk were quite vocal about another staff person (not present) who had made an error. Stuff happens, but please keep it to yourselves.

The whole office is amazing. My little one has sensory issues and they take their time with him never pushing. They are encouraging, kind, friendly inviting. They are always so great . Their wait time is next to nothing , they abitly to send you a text or email to remind you of your appointment, they let you know when they are closed due to holidaays, Vacations, office meetings. I could go on forever about how great they are.

My experience at Vision Source of Spencer was over-the-top excellent! Dr. Thamel was patient, kind, professional and extremely personable. The guy (forgot his name but he looked a little like Keith Richards) who helped me pick out my frames, knew, right away, the perfect style for my face, (which was amazing because in the past, nobody got the fact that my bone structure is a bit tiny, and I ended up with ill-fitting frames). He also, was great at having a knack for helping, but with an artistic, slightly humorous flare! If I could give my appointment 10 stars, I would!!!
