Everyone is so friendly at Fairview Family Dental and their communication is excellent. I always feel welcomed and comforted at appointments. It is refreshing to visit a doctor's office and know that you are going to be well taken care of in a timely manner, and everything is explained up front so I know what to expect. I highly recommend Dr. Hurst and her team to my friends and family!

Your excellent receptionist, Robyn, listened to me from the beginning and got me scheduled before my trip out of town. Then Elizabeth had the hard job of taking X-rays and pictures as I fought off my “gagger” reflex. Lastly, Doctor Hurst came in and took care of the tooth. She also checked to see that nothing nefarious was going on

This dental practice is like no other. The environment is so different from other medical/dental offices. One of the biggest things I notice is retaining staff members. That says a lot to me about the ship Dr. Hurst runs. The next thing is the quality of staff whether it’s front desk, technical assistance, dental procedures, etc. Everyone takes the time to explain and answer questions, concerns, etc. I’ll always be thankful for the understanding, genuine care and patience shown to my sister when Alzheimer’s disease had set in but she still wanted to see the hygienist because she was so sweet & gentle with her as was the front desk crew. They are all gems. My visit w/Dr. Hurst, this week, was especially therapeutic in several ways. We are fortunate to have this practice for our dental care.

Fairview Family Dental has essentially erased a lifelong anxiety, allowing me to get the quality care I need without sweating bullets. The environment is super casual yet very professional. It's obvious everyone here takes great pride in their work. When I broke a tooth the week of Christmas, Dr. Hurst & her team stayed nearly 2 hours over to patch me up for the holidays! Very highly recommended!

Dropping our insurance provider is disappointing. I understand the reason why after doing some research, but while I want to stay with Fairview Family Dental, doubling my dental care costs overnight is not sustainable. I will have to explore other providers in the area to see which ones will pax maximum benefit. We love the care we receive, and I an willing to pay a bit more out of pocket, but a family of four cost goes up by $800 a year just for 2 cleanings each. Wr have to now sacrifice exams and other preventitive care norms. Willing to negotiate, but cannot sustain the $1000 for insurance premiums and the $800 for for cleanings. Hope there will be some give and take with loyal patients.

I am a new patient. I needed to replace a partial denture appliance. Dr. Hurst assured me the process would result in a new denture that would be "awesome!". That seemed over-the-top, so I told her she is certainly the most enthusiastic dentist I've ever had. Digital impressions; quick turn-around from the lab; minor adjustments at delivery...and I now have a new partial denture that fits well and looks great. In a word...AWESOME!

This is the only appt I go to, as a Senior Citizen, that I don’t dread. Staff is wonderful and have been there for a long time. Dr. Hurst is amazing. I’ll be coming back til my time is up!

Unfortunately my insurance was not accepted, however, Dr. Hurst worked up a payment plan which was greatly appreciated. I feel dental health is very important and felt limited in the practices I was able to use. I would highly recommend her.

I was in the area visiting family and experiencing significant jaw and mouth pain. Dr. Hurst has been my Father’s dentist for quite some time, and he suggested that he contact the office to inquire if they could see me. He drove to the office at 9:00 a.m. and by 10:00 I was already in the office getting x-rays and treatment. After consulting with Dr. Hurst, a treatment plan was established and I was back in her office the next morning at 9:00 to get a tooth crowned in addition to other treatment. Everyone in the office was absolutely fantastic and delivered excellent care and attention. Understanding the anxiety I was feeling, I cannot say how great the experience was from start to finish. Anytime I am back in town, I will be going to Dr. Hurst for my dental care. She went above and beyond to address my issues and relieve my pain. I was very uncomfortable with dentists before I met her, and she has taken all that anxiety away for me. A million thank you’s to the Dr. and her staff. I cannot recommend her more enthusiastically!

Dr Hurst and her highly qualified and skilled technicians took care of a difficult crown for me. They were careful, concerned, and patient creating a temporary crown. In the meantime, 3 patients with emergency needs flooded the already busy practice! Dr Hurst and staff calmly and competently took care of everyone. They must have been tired, because the emergencies came in at the end of the day! Nevertheless, Dr Hurst and Staff went to work with calm zeal. The billing and appointment front desk staff too managed pleasant comments and answers despite what was obviously a very harried situation. I cannot recommend Dr Hurst and Staff highly enough!!

I have always dreaded going to the dentist, but not so much upon being recommended to Fairview Family Dentist. The staff is extremely helpful and thorough and are willing to work with you when it comes to scheduling appointments. Their technicians are top of the line and make sure your visit is as comfortable as possible, I am very happy to be one of their patients. On a side note, this must be the best place in the world to work...everyone is always singing! I've never been to any doctor's office where almost the whole staff is singing! Everyone is so happy there!

While I think Dr. Hurst and the staff are top notch, the office dynamic presents itself as much too busy. Hard to get an appointment, didn't get to see the dentist for an exam when I was in for my last cleaning (actually twice on my last 3 cleanings). If you are too busy, stop taking new patients.

Thank you for your review we take all criticisms seriously and try to learn from our patients' experiences. We were getting ready to close for 2 weeks for Christmas (to protect our staff from the surge of covid cases in our community) so the week that you were in was extraordinarily busy. Covid has put extreme pressure on dental practices and as dentists have retired in droves over the last two years, Dr. Hurst is doing many surgical and endodontic cases during the course of her day at the office. Luckily for our patients, she is one of the few dentists in our area with advanced training in these fields of dentistry. If you're in pain, it's wonderful that you do not have to wait months for a specialist to remove your tooth. If you have a routine appointment, sometimes it's difficult for her to leave a surgery to see a patient who is with a hygienist. Normally our hygienists ask their patients if they would like to wait for a dental exam or if they do not see a problem, they offer the patient an opportunity to leave without an exam. We apologize if this protocol was not followed with you and thank you for your input.

Wonderful staff and magically experience!! I had my crown replaced same day!!! That's unheard of in the Erie area. My experience with other good dentists in the area is that the whole process from impression to final crown takes about 6 weeks. Having the final crown the same day was like magic! And the fit was perfect!! Love Dr. Hurst's passion and commitment to technology that makes dentistry the best it can be!! Thank you!!

I feel very safe and comfortable going to this office. The safety precautions were top notch. I particularly liked the office protocol that requires patients to wait in their car and gave their temperature taken prior to enter. The room in which o was treated was very clean. My dental hygienist and the doctor made me feel at ease and I found them to be professional and explained what they were doing and why throughout my appointment.

We really like Fairview Family Dental. We initially went there for an emergent painful cavity for one of my young sons, but we have continued there as regular patients ever since. I’m constantly amazed at this dental practice! I was able to be seen on an emergent basis for a problem with a dental crown. I absolutely love how Dr Hurst is using state of the art X-ray technology. She continues to do continuing education so she can address over and above dental issues right in her office. And the icing on the cake is a staff that is amazing!

Had a root canal that had to be rescheduled due to Covid 19 shutdown, so when the office was allowed to open after getting their approved PPE I was able to get my root canal done after several weeks of varying levels of pain. The relief was immediate and Dr Hurst was excellent in her work and also in explaining what needed to be done. Very happy with my experience. 😁

Everyone very friendly and do there job well. The only issues I have are first, somehow, the practice has become a "premium" practice which suddenly costs more in a copay on the insurance we use and the last 2 times I have had a cleaning there was a minor issue with a tooth that needed further investigation and no dentist was available to see me. In the past and at other places I have always been seen by a dentist after a cleaning. Maybe times are changing???

Hi Bryan, I just saw this review and I'm sorry that the doctor was unavailable to see you during your last appointment. She is always in the office when patients are there for cleanings but sometimes she is in the middle of a surgery or a root canal that is hard to leave. If Dr. Hurst had known that you were having an issue she would have definitely found a way to leave what she was doing. We truly apologize for your inconvenience. Also, in response to your "premier" question, because of Dr. Hurst's exemplary patient care and patient satisfaction, she was upgraded to a premier status with certain insurances. This basically means that the insurance company has given her a raise for doing excellent clinical care. Every employer has different coverages, most patients see no change in the cost of their services, while some others will see increases. It is all employer dependent. I hope that is helpful and remember we are always here for you and will see you for any emergency if you need us. Thanks so much for your review, we hope our answer was helpful.

I did not have to wait hardly any time in the waiting room before taken back. Every one treated me nice. Dr. Hurst explained every thing she was about to do in detail. I like how she stayed with me from start to stop. Dr. Hurst made me feel at ease, even though I was getting two implants installed. Not once did I feel any pain during the whole procedure even getting novocaine at the start. She asked my numerous times if I was ok. I am glad I chose her to do my implants.

Fairview Family Dental is the best. The staff (Mary and Robin) are courteous and always helpful. Dr. Hurst is top notch! She has a great approach to patient care and is always explaining every step of the dental procedures along the way. I have observed that technically, Dr. Hurst is adept in all facets of dentistry. I have had many procedures over the years and couldn't be happier with the superior care that Dr. Hurst and her team provides. Having a 3-D printer on site to produce Caps, Crowns, etc. is a real plus. Perfect fit and tight margins every time.

My visit with the hygienist was normal. The problem I have is that I never got to see Dr Hurst!! She wasn’t there! How can I go to the dentist and not even see the dentist? Never in my 50+ years have I gone to the dentist and not seen the dentist. Very strange and disappointing. They didn’t give me a reason other than she wasn’t there. No emergency mentioned. Maybe this is a new way of handling appointments. This is why my ratings are not higher.

Although the staff and hygienist do great work the dentist always seems rushed and doesn’t give the patient the service deserved. After having a cleaning the dentist could not see me for the checkup even though it was scheduled 6 months out. On another visit the dentist drilled and filled the cavity but left another to smooth and finish the job. As she is the only dentist at the practice it leaves me to believe she is more interested in the volume of patients than taking the time to serve her clients well.

I have been back three more times for much needed dental work. I like the fact that you get reminders. At my age it's very easy to forget an appointment. I've always been treated well at this office. The staff are very friendly and fun to talk to. They always remind me to take my medicine before I come. :) Another thing I have a habit of forgetting.. I highly recommend and have recommended this office and Dr. Hurst to many of my friends. She is a far better dentist than I have ever gone to, plus she's very nice and I'm not nervous before I go for my appointment. To me that means a lot.

When the dentist arrived she inspected my teeth and discussed my options with me. She thoroughly explained my options to me so that I could make an informed decision. They are very careful to follow all of the steps required by the insurance company to insure that they will pay their portion of my treatment. I have been very happy with your service as a whole. but when I had an appointment set up 6 mo. in advance, and it was changed, I was not notified, which meant I had to schedule other appointments around it, the hassle of getting ready, and going there at the scheduled time, only to discover that it had apparently been rescheduled, and I had not received any notification about it! that upset me, because i'm to have other surgery, and have many appointments coming up. my time is also worth something, as well as gas, etc.

Dr. Hurst is an excellent, professional, and compassionate dentist. Before my open heart surgery, she was my last required "test" before the surgery. I am indebted to her for empathy and kindness. Her exceptional hygienist, Jen, sees me three-four times a year to protect me from gum disease which I developed and iradicated 20 years ago.. Due to Dr. Hurst, Jen and my earnest commitment to periodontitis prevention, my dental condition is excellent! THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!

I have never had such a nice experience at a dentist office as my experience at Fairview Family Dental. I initiated my appointment request on-line through their website. I was contacted immediately and was given an appointment the very next day. When I arrived for my appointment, I didn't even wait 5 minutes before being called. There was a happy ambiance to the entire office setting with music playing and the friendliness of the staff. I would recommend this office for all of their dental needs.

Because of issues with my teeth, I make frequent visits to Fairview Family Dental. I have had positive interactions with all of the office personnel. I had an issue with my tooth, through no fault of the practice, and Dr. Hurst guaranteed her work and corrected the issue for me. The office has recently been remodeled and is very clean. Part of the remodel included the addition of handrails in all the walkways and the ramp. The aesthetics combined with the staff make trips here very pleasant. There is a very nice children's area with books and toys. From my observations, this is a very child friendly practice. I would highly recommend Fairview Family Dental to anyone looking for routine or specialized dental care.

The entire staff seems friendly and knowledgeable. Wait times are minimal. Honestly, I despise visiting any dental facility, but, believe me when I say that they make the experience as pleasant as possible.
