The last Optometrist I saw didn't communicate the results of the exam with me. The appointment was rushed and wasn't scheduled with enough time to properly discuss matters. I have had better appointment experiences with Eye Designs in the past because the changes in my prescription had been shown to me clearly by the doctor, especially when the changes were minor. However, the Optician that helped me was knowledgeable.

The staff at Eyewear Designs Optometry are among the best, if not the best, that I have ever had the opportunity to utilize for my eyewear needs. I have been wearing eyeglasses since I was 8 years old and I am 63 now so you do the math. From the moment I walked in the door I felt welcomed and cared for by the receptionist and the Opticians who are working the front area. I have never had a more thorough eye exam in my life. The optometrist is very good, you can tell he paid a lot of attention in school. As long as I live in the Sacramento area these people will handle all my eyewear needs.

Just want to say the staff at Eye Designs are so courteous and helpful. I have been going here since about 2009 and everyone I have seen has been most polite and thorough. Cyndie goes out of her way to assist with anything that is needed to be done with the glasses. I always look for her to help me. I was a little surprised at the amount I had to pay for my sunglasses. I feel I should have been told prior to choosing them that this particular brand didn’t cover as much as most others. I was told after I chose them, however, if I new prior, I would have gone with another brand. The optometrist was excellent.

I LOVE this office!! I have a hard time finding glasses that fit my narrow face. Cyndie sat down with me and knew EXACTLY which ones would look good, and helped me customize colors, sizes, and lenses to my liking. I first decided to use Eye Designs because the open hours were convenient for me and they accepted my Vision insurance (VSP). But also found helpful staff and knowledgeable doctors. Good variety of eyeglasses, however, the downside is many of the frames are fairly expensive. Still, I usually am able to find frames that are good looking and also covered by my insurance.

The exam I was happy with - liked the Doctor. At the end when picking the lens packages they kept trying to offer me the most expensive package. I had to keep asking what my other options are and finally got to chose what I wanted to pay for. Still pricey. If the pricing was cheaper i would definitely go back.

The interaction with provider and the staff was satisfactory. The young male technician was patient, kind and thorough. The female provider was excellent no sales pressure for unnecessary add-on services. She was also informative offering a variety of options for my eyes and treatments for dry eye. My only concern, which is kind of major was the cleanliness of the facility. The floor scratches didn’t bother me but I couldn’t stop wonder when was the last time the floor was swept and mopped, there were scraps of paper and dust everywhere, which naturally grossed me out regarding the equipment. Not one alcohol wipe was used to clean the various machines in my presences - yuk!! I hope they were thoroughly cleaned before I arrived but it would go a long way to show an attempt a cleansing them; like the dentist and primary care office does when using equipment on customers. IJS.

Another good annual visit to Eye Designs. I really like the fact that I can make an appointment on a Saturday morning. After the exam, I decided to order prescription sunglasses. The young lady helping me was extremely patient, explained my insurance coverage well, broke down the prices of the two different brands I had debated, and we even found a pair online that I liked in a different frame and lens color I decided to get.

The examination appeared to be thorough, but I had the feeling that I was being encouraged to spend money on products and I didn't have time to verify if these products were really necessary. Doctor told me I had dry eye and had the CHANCE to attract mites in my eyes, but there were no mites. She recommended a treatment with products that ended costing me more money than I expected. (plus 1/3rd of the treatment products was out of stock) Also, I never got a chance to ask what would happen if I chose to no use this treatment. She said my vision had only changed slightly and because of my inconsistent diabetes condition my vision MIGHT change, yet she encouraged me to get new glasses. I chose to not get new glasses at this time. the reason I go to Eye Designs is because they are covered by my VSP insurance. However, because their prices seem to be increasing, I'm planning to shop around for cost savings with other VSP providers.

After being presented with glasses that were WAY out of focus, the staff spent over 20 minutes insisting that I take the glasses with me. Then if I was still unhappy after a few weeks, I was to come back for a prescription review. These are normal reading glasses, no add ons, tint, progressive, nothing, just plain 2.25 reading glasses that did not work. My insurance was bill for in full for the glasses and frames using up my entire annual coverage for the glasses that never fit, never worked and that I never took possession of. Next year when my coverage renews, I will find a new office that cares about the customer, and not just strong arming people into taking a defective product.

I normally go to the Arden Fair location, but not anymore. The staff at the Sunrise location were very helpful and courteous, which I sometimes had an issue with at the Arden location. I was on a tight schedule that day and they were able to get me in on time, provide me with the service I expected, help me choose the correct frames, and got me out in a very reasonable time. I feel like every time I come in I am charged a fee that never existed in prior visits. I've been a patient since approx. 1997 and I doubt I will be back. Also, I was early for my appt and maybe I was invisible but it took 10 minutes for an employee to even acknowledge I was in the office.

The staff is super nice and helpful and and the dr is very nice and helpful as well and the place is very very clean as well. They have so many glasses and sunglasses to pick from and they are willing to work with you and everything. I have been coming here . I highly recommend this place for everyone. And So in about 2 weeks they will call me to pick up my new glasses my prescription went up and also on top of it i now have to have bifocals as well on top of my prescription. And the glasses I got are so cute I love them 😃👓 an I will have to get used to how they are because they're gonna be made differently than how my current ones are because I have to have the Bifocals in them now so it will take some time to get used to and they explain everything to you and help you out with your new glasses and or contacts. I'm so excited to get my new glasses when they come in.

I have received eye care at Eye Designs Optometry for many years. Everyone there is knowledgeable, professional, and helpful. An eye exam will cover every important part of your vision. There are many choices of contact lenses and frames if you need them. I have VSP insurance which covers many of the services, but all options and costs are explained well.

I have used optometrists all over the country over the years. This office is very modern, the staff is very personable, and really wants to be helpful. I was late for my appointment, and they took me right in and saw me without any hassle. The Financials are explained and insurance benefits are explained in an easy to understand way that makes you feel comfortable with your purchase. I had went into the office over two weeks ago picked out frames and scheduled an appointment once I got there on Saturday the 31st it was the same girl at the desk and she told me I had no appointment scheduled and I mentioned it was her who booked it they even gave me a card papers fill out and prior to my appointment I picked frames out got in the office and seen they were on display any longer so I had to choose new frames I was happy they were able to see me just frustrated my scheduled appointment wasn't in there and I had to wait longer for the doctor

There seems to be less of a selection of affordable ($100-$200) frames. Even the designer frames seem to all be too similar. Also calling something a "copay" doesn't take away from it really being a fee. My copay depends on my insurance, not what "extras" I can opt into.

I've been an Eye Designs patient for quite some time and this is the very first time I've ever felt rushed through my pre-tests, before being brought into the examining room. I ended up having to repeat one of the tests, because the young lady who administered the pre-testing was in such a rush. I did much better the second time around(at that point I didn't know why she was in such a hurry). As it turns out the young lady was in a hurry to get her (lunch) break. The only way I knew that is because she was returning by the time I was leaving the office. I understand everyone needs their breaks, but perhaps another staff member should have taken me. Also, for the first time ever, I opted for the $30 test where they take a picture of your eye, looking for any nerve damage, etc. I feel that, in her haste, she snapped the pictures too soon, and didn't take enough time to explain to me how exactly to place my eyes. I was disappointed.

I have been going to Eye Designs for over 5 years now. I have always had contacts, and glasses. When I called in to get my contact prescription refilled this last time I was told by the girl answering the phone that I didn't have a prescription with your office. I explained that that was incorrect. I was then placed on hold, and another girl came on the line to tell me that I was given trials and that I never came back in to be finalized. Again, completely incorrect. I had called in 6 months earlier and I had gotten a 6 months supply of contacts. I was then placed on hold again. Another girl answered. At this point I was told that I would NOT be supplied any more contacts until I came in to be refitted. I then went in for my "refitting" on 8/21. I had to explain to 3 different people why I was there, and everyone seemed very confused as to what a refitting is. I am very disappointed in the level of customer service your office provided.

The wait was really long and feel I should have gotten a call about the delayed time AND I didn't have my eyes dilated. Dr. put the yellow drops in, but never finished the procedure. It was a really hectic visit.

I liked the doctor very much. He explained things and told me what he was doing before he did it. Rebecca did a great job! I was only disappointed that the photos she took of me in the new glasses never arrived. I love the new eye camera so you don't need dilation unless there is a problem!

I felt like the wait time and appointment time was way to long. Maybe you should allow more time between clients appointments

Not a very welcoming office. Did not like the fact that the eye doctor only spends about 10 mins and rushes you through the visit. I don't like the fact that there are too many new office interns that due all the pre-opp/testing.

I have been going to Eye Designs for many many years and not once was I charged a "$20 Fitting Fee", which is total BS! However, I didn't have to pay it due to that fact I'm double covered so they just billed my VSP insurance! Still it's a ridiculous fee that should not be charged to any of their customers!

Always friendly, knowledgable staff. New technologies and information sharing. There is always nice frames to pick from and if there are any issues, they are addressed immediately and in a professional manner.

Dr. Murphy was rushed. I didn't feel that he was really listening to me and my vision concerns. During my exam a staff member entered the room and informed him that the printer was not working. He promptly ended my exam and went to address the problem. I was very disappointed in the treatment I received.
