This is the first dentist office I feel comfortable in! All the assistants and doctors are really nice and try to make things pain free and answer my questions. They also have cool new appliances that make the process of imaging and cleaning more pain free.

It's never fun visiting the dentist, but Excel Dental and staff made it doable. Dr. Surmont was professional, easy to talk with, and was truly concerned about my welfare. I felt I was in good hands with Excel's knowledge, skill, and equipment. I told Dr. Surmont his team of workers appeared to work well together which is important in any business. I don't want to visit again, but when the time comes I will return to Excel Dental.

The dentist (Dr. S?? - cannot remember) didn’t introduce himself at first. When dealing with my 2 year old who was a patient, in retrospect it would have been best for him to establish some kind of rapport and maybe take his goggles off so as not to scare the child. Staff were great and very friendly!

Space for Mental Health Awareness. Thank you for the appointment! Overall, I felt pretty comfortable for my first return to the dentist since COVID started. However, I would like to ask that your dentists brush up on mental health awareness. During this appointment, the doctor detected that I grind my teeth, which was new information for me. I asked whether this was something that people do in their sleep, and the dentist made a joke (to lighten the mood, likely) that people don't go around clenching their jaw during the day. But. I have diagnosed social anxiety and often use physical habits to self-sooth. I'm not always fully conscious of those habits. This was something the dentist could have maybe picked up on, given that I said I chew on things a lot, including my nails. In any case, I really did want that medical information, and they literally gave me incorrect information while making fun of people who would do it. It left me with a poor taste in my mouth, especially when so many people are still dealing with mental health fallout from COVID, myself included. I have no hard feelings, but I strongly recommend your dentists brush up on mental health intersections for their work. Also, I'm nonbinary, and cannot respond with that in this form. Although I definitely appreciate that your intake form had that option.

Most painless dental visit - I typically hate going to the dentist, but I was really happy with the care I received here. My dental hygienist was super knowledgeable and provided me with good insight on the condition of my teeth and gums as well as suggestions with how to improve their health. Also was nice that they could check what services are covered by my dental insurance and factor that into my care.

1. Why deductible should be paid in advance in your office? In my previous experience with other dental clinic, the deductible is determined and paid after the claim is filed to Delta Dental and insurance company will calculate customer's cost including possible annual deductible.. 2. My tooth cleaning should be completed by two separate visits? Will you file claims as two clean services? My insurance only cover cleaning twice a year, but each time the cleaning refers to the whole teeth.

Excel Dental is like a family of care. They treat you so well that you are sorry that your appointment is over. The level of care is top notch and they truly care about your comfort and will take the time needed to make sure all is well during your appointment! I like how Dr Surmont explains everything as the process goes on and it is such a calm environment that just feels so welcoming. I had hard time during my last appointment. It was so cold. Nurse was pushing me with chair many times, didn't rinse my mouth in good way, doctor was not gentle during proceeder at all (as she was working not with my face but with junk material..I was so afraid she would tear my lips.. when she cleaned leakage from my face it was done in so rude way... but she was good in anesthesia providing..) I hope these new workers would be better in their performance with some time but I was so frustrated, scared and disappointed during my last appointment

Had a great time! My cleaning went well and the hygienist was nice enough to teach me how to floss (it's been 10 years.....) I received a referral to an oral surgeon for my wisdom teeth and need to call them soon. Everyone in the office is so nice and friendly, and answers all of my questions!

The best dental practice in AA! Best care, best treatment, and best staff in the whole city! I've been going to Excel Dental for over a year with a variety of dental needs and every appointment is top notch. Their staff is very kind and understanding, their communication is exceptional, and their treatment options are top of the line. While it is expensive for me, I happily pay the price each time I go because the care truly is that much better than other local practices. You won't regret making an appointment that's for sure!

Excel Dental is the warmest, most welcoming health care provider (& business in general) that I have ever encountered. The staff there truly care about helping people & making sure people get the care they need -- even if it means the office makes less money. To reiterate... I moved to Ann Arbor 2 years ago and I started visiting Excel Dental and I absolutely love them. The office spaces (they now have 2 offices) are beautiful, always clean, organized and the waiting time is minimal to none. The staff is extremely friendly and they care about you completely. The services provided are THE best! I've visited them quite often and have done a bit of everything, from cleaning, to fillings, hopefully by the end of the year I'll do the invisalign. They have great work hours, you don't have to wait for months for an appointment and they're very friendly.

I absolutely love Excel Dental! Everyone is really nice and helpful; no one judges you (and they walk you through everything) if you're having anxiety about procedures or finances. I hadn't been to the dentist in 7 years, and I ended up choosing them as my first visit back due to their scheduling availability (weekends and evenings! wahoo!), the kind people on the phone, and their prices (which are a result of them really caring about your dental health). I like this office so much that I am actually keeping up to date on my dental health and it doesn't feel like a chore. Selfishly, I don't want people to go here so I can keep finding appointments to fit my schedule...but for real, I love this dentist, call them!

I will not be returning. Yesterday was easily the most uncomfortable filling I have ever had. The dental hygienist was great, but the dentist not so much. She seemed irritated to be doing my filling the whole time, was constantly huffing and puffing and was being rather unkind and bossy to the hygienist. She didn't allow the numbing to take affect at all, and decided to give me another shot which I think was unnecessary. My left side of my mouth, cheek, tongue, and jaw were all super numb until almost 7 last night and my appointment was at 3:00 p.m. I told her that my bite felt off, and she said "well just come back tomorrow" in which I told her no, and asked her to file it down again. After she filed it down twice she told me she was "not going to file it down anymore" and my bite still feels off. My mouth and my tooth are super sore today, not to mention the inside of my mouth was really swollen as well. Easily the worst experience I've ever had getting a tooth filled, which makes no sense because she made the comment that she didn't even drill down that far! I'm not sure if she was in a rush or what the case was, but just not a good experience at all.

The only thing I do not like is not seeing the same dentist consistently because then we would have to review old things that were previously mentioned with other specialist. Generally, I love this office. The people are some of the nicest and the atmosphere is wonderful. I’ve run into a few issues in my short time as an ortho patient (6 months) that I haven’t fully appreciated: necessary pieces for treatment not in stock for my appointment which caused me to miss work 2 times, lost appointments (happened twice, delaying treatment time), and poor communication between staff about appointment purposes (went in to get an o-ring replaced and almost had my wires changed two days after getting new ones). I’m a really understanding person because life happens but I’m spending my money and if this continues, I may have to find a new office.

I have been a patient at Excel Dental for over a year and a half. I love that my appointments are timely and scheduled at times that are convenient for my busy life. I feel valued and that my concerns are heard by the medical professionals who work there. I have had cleanings, fillings and soon to have them apply braces to correct my bite. When I had my filling done, It was after my cleaning that my dental assistant noticed the softening of two adult teeth. This can lead to decay. They cleared an afternoon spot and took care of it right away and kept the costs reasonable. I can't tell you how appreciated it is to have a local dental group be so caring and compassionate about patient care. I'll be back in your dentist chair soon, Excel!

Excel Dental was the only dentist available in my time of emergency. Their staff was amazing, the doctor was very clear about next steps of action, and my exam/treatment plan was completed in about 40 minutes. Very satisfied.

I ONLY recommend Excel Dental, as far as Im concerned there is no better dental practice in the state. They are professional, helpful, and they actively try to help you maximize your insurance and save money. There is no one that surpasses their ability to calm and relax anxious patients. I cannot recommend then enough!

My dental hygienist was very thorough and informative. She did an excellent job assessing my dental needs and explaining everything to me. My hygienist and dentist were so kind and professional, and so was the receptionist. As a whole, the office seems to run very smoothly and efficiently as well.

I had an awesome experience at Excel! I would definitely recommend this office to anyone. The hygienist explained exactly what she was doing and showed me all of my x-rays and photos and pointed out what she was looking for.

Very Happy we came here! I have two boys aged 3 and 10, and they both loved it. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable, they really made me feel like we were at home. My little one is telling everyone who will listen about the dentist. Excel Dental really makes Dental Services fun and easy. He was uneasy about coming to the dentist, but now I was wondering when we can go back!

The staff here are excellent! They are all very friendly, helpful, interesting & professional. The specialist that I saw was running very late (about an hour), but the staff here is so very warm & engaging, it was really hard to be too irritated. I have been here on several occasions for teeth cleaning & I was seen on time, so I think the long delay on this day was just due to a high demand for the specialist.

I was looking for a friendly and convenient dental office near my new home. Even though I loved my hometown dentist and had been with him for over 10 years, I needed to find something closer. I have definitely found a healthy dental haven at Excel! I could not be more happy to have found a dentist office that fit all my needs. Honestly, the convenience of location and hours is a huge perk, but office staff friendliness is a top priority for me when seeking health care. These staff members are amazing and they treat you like you've been there for years. I love great customer service and this office goes above and beyond. On my second visit, the dental assistant discovered some tooth "softening" on two of teeth. I have a very busy job and home life and wanted the problem taken care of right away. The dental assistant worked with the dentist to get my problem taken care of that same day so I didn't have to return. I was blown away! I just last week returned for my follow up and had my cleaning with Stephanie. She was absolutely awesome, she already knew before I came in about my teeth sensitivity and made sure to be careful when using cold water around my gums. I love this office, I love the staff, and I look forward to my next visit!

A truly amazing experience as always! I walked into Excel for the first time maybe two years ago and I was terrified as I hadn't been to the dentist in longer than a decade and I was humbled by how non judgmental and how quick they were to help me. Hello, I had my appointment scheduled for 6;10 pm yesterday, i did not get into the actual appointment until 6:45 which was a full 35 minutes after I had been scheduled. This is honestly unacceptable - they mentioned there had been an urgent appointment that pushed everything back and if that was the case, i would have appreciated a heads up so I could have rescheduled. I don't appreciate having to wait over 30 minutes for an appointment.

Dentists should avoid taking unnecessary X-RAYS. I am pretty unhappy that my wife took my child to this dentistry and child had to undergo an X-RAY that was totally unnecessary, even BEFORE the doctor saw the child. Moreover, the attendant stated that they have Panoramic X-RAY which is very safe. I googled and found that Panoramic X-RAY emit 5 times radiation than normal X-RAY machines. So my 6-year old received a heavy dose of radiation for absolutely no reason other than the dentistry making money for themselves.

A thorough dental history is taken at your first appointment in a private room, so you can comfortably discuss any concerns or issues you may have without being overheard. Caring staff is sensitive to your needs and does everything possible to make your visit comfortable. Dr. Desai takes her time to explain each procedure clearly. Great practice!
