Yesterday was my first time visiting Dr. Kenneth Boyer's practice and I was very impressed. Dr. Boyer genuinly cares about the health of his patients' eyes and with helping them find the very best prescription for their needs. My search for frames that fit is usually a difficult task for me, but I was helped by the kindest man who quickly found the perfect frame for me, and made the entire process actually enjoyable! Together with the welcoming front office staff, I give my experience at Dr. Boyer's office 5 stars and will definitly recommend to others. Thank you!

Dr. Ken and staff made my experience enjoyable instead of dreadful. I have major eye issues and his evaluation and recomendatioons greatly improved the quality of my vision. I was fitted with contact lenses and eye glasses. Rosie is absolutely delightful and I am thrilled with the glasses she fitted me with. I was extremely self conscious of wearing glasses, having only worn contact lenses for the past 40 years, however I walked out of there confident and thrilled with my new purchase ! When it came time for me to access my aging eyes I made the decision to use Doctor(s) Boyer who treated to both my mother and grandmothers vision issues through the years. I like the idea of having a family doctor that has treated 3 generations in my family. Sadly, with the big HMO’s there is a good chance that you will not see the same Doctor twice in your entire lifetime. I got my first pair of glasses right before the pandemic and I firmly believe the HMO persuaded me to purchase far more than I actually needed. I did not adjust well to Progressive Lenses but could only get virtual appointments to voice my discomfort. I was told twice that I would eventually get use to them but I never really did. The day I added a third computer monitor to my desk was the day I decided no more progressive lenses for me! I left my first appointment at the LaVerne office with a lot of knowledge about my eyesight, a new prescription and some very helpful exercises to help battle eye fatigue. A few weeks later…… here I sit in front of all three monitors with my new pair of glasses. I am astonished that I see all three with no glare and amazing clarity without having to twist my neck for the best view. Thank you, Dr. Boyer and your amazing staff, for all of the helpful advice and great service. I love a happy ending.

I was so pleased Dr. Boyer was able to accommodate my request for an appointment yesterday. I was seen immediately and the exam process went very smoothly. I appreciated Dr. Boyer discussing what is new with cataract surgery. He is always up on technology and progressing care. I was over the moon with the selection of designer frames available. The office was clean and orderly and the staff was very personable.

Professional check up after my son had double strabismus surgery last Wednesday gave us peace of mind. Yes his eyes were bruised but the additional artificially tears/ antibiotics for school had to be sent. Thank you Dr. Brian Boyer and all the team staff! I've had my son's Surgeon note which made everything less chaotic with the schools obtuseness for clarity. Julian is 10 years old and has always been under the Boyer Family's Optical Help! I would recommend Dr. Kenneth J. Boyer and Brian Boyer if anyone is looking for a Optometrist. This was only my second visit, I am very happy with Brian Boyer. They have two offices one in La Verne and the other one in Upland. Both offices are extremely clean and sanitized. The staff is amazing.

Dr. Kenneth Boyer and Dr. Brian Boyer have really been phenomenal over the course of taking care of my eye health. I've been under their care as a child, and I've returned as an adult. Overall, they take care of me as if I were family, and have given me great recommendations and appropriate steps in caring for my wellbeing. Major shoutout to Dr. Brian, as he's taken the time to personally walk me through my PRK/LASIK procedure and has been invested in my recovery post-op and beyond! I'm grateful for the team!

When service is bad we fuss about it, but often the customers do only that..fuss! When service is good or better, some say thank you and that's it. I'm the Man who let's it be known about how I've been treated from one end of the spectrum through to the other! Dr. Boyer and his staff have my business, probably for the rest of my life, clean office/equipment, staff is professional but aren't scared to laugh at a joke or show human interest. Quality eye wear, at decent prices and he and the staff aren't afraid to say, "How about trying these"? LOL! Way'ta go Doc!!!!

On my first visit I went in thinking I needed new glasses. After checking the health of my eyes and going over my history, Dr. Boyer diagnosed cataracts. No surprise; I am 70. Then he said my glasses were fine, but he could do no more for me. We discussed the cataracts as well as a referral to a surgeon. No refraction exam needed, so no out of pocket expense for me. Dr. Boyer is honest, sincere and professional.

My husband and I have been coming to Dr. Boyer for many years for our eye care. He's always a pleasure to speak with usually sharing a little about himself with us. He knows our eyes and their issues and generally has suggestions for improvement. I usually wear gas permeable contacts but he got me wearing soft multifocal contacts which are much more comfortable. My husband hates going to any doctor but likes coming here always sharing a joke with the doctor or his staff. Rosie was especially helpful in helping me pick out new glasses this time. She's so friendly and loves my husband's humor. I would highly this Doctor to everyone needing eye care!

After my regular eye check up, I requested an Optos eye scan to make sure my eyes are still completely healthy. Since the Upland office doesn't have the scanning equipment, I had to make an appointment at the main office in La Verne. The whole process from appointment setting to the actual visit was pleasant and patient-friendly. The Boyers are our regular optometrists and their service model is excellent.

Ever since I moved here to the US from a different country I’ve been coming here for my glasses/contacts. I love their service and products. I love you can come back for adjustments and they fix your glasses at no extra cost. The only reason why I didn’t give 5 stars is because if you want to buy contacts; even if you already know your prescription because it’s been the same one your whole life and doctors already told you it will never change since the problem you have is a problem you were born with and it doesn’t get worse or better with time (unless you get surgery) they still force you to get an an exam/ prescription from them in order to sell contact lenses to you even though it’s unnecessary and it makes you feel like they want to take advantage of you from a monetary perspective. I know it’s a business but they prefer to lose the sale of the contacts if you don’t want to pay for their pricey contact evaluation.

I apologize for your feeling that the contact lens evaluation is an unnecessary service, however the Doctors need to make sure your eye health is good because your lenses sit directly on your eyes and if there were a problem and they never checked your eyes, that would be a liability for any Optometrist that cares for a contact lens patient. The evaluation annually is a policy in every Optometry practice.

I want to express my deepest thanks to this practice for coming to my aid during a vision emergency. While visiting a friend in La Verne on my trip from Virginia, I noticed sudden symptoms of retinal detachment. Having had laser treatment for a retina tear before, I knew to treat it as an emergency. Dr. Brian Boyer immediately fit me into his full schedule. From the extensive exam that followed, he confirmed a possible pre- retinal tear or detachment condition. I appreciated his kind, comforting and expert treatment at a time when I was very concerned and stressed over having to fly home the next day. He also went above and beyond, taking extra time to educate me on the why and how of the condition. Very thorough digital records were provided for me to give to my eye doctor in Virginia. Thank you again Dr. Boyer!

I start saying that I just need it to order safety glasses, when I called to make the appointment, they didn’t have any time available soon, so they make the appointment at upland office, when I went there they sent me back to Laverne office, because they said they don’t have safety glasses it was confusing, plus they don’t have a good selection of safety glasses.

We both were taken care of by young Dr Boyer who was professional, friendly and very informative about cataracts. The office was clean and the staff followed Covid 19 guidelines. The eyewar tech, Rosie, was especially helpful to me when I was trying to get sunglasses with a bifocal (cheater) lens. She helped me with a Maui Jim pair which were perfect for me. We have been coming here for over 20 yrs this office and have re commended many of my friends to them. Thank you Dr. Boyer, Rosie and other staff...you're the best!

From the start, the receptionist was so friendly and explained everything to me clearly. The doctor was very nice and listened to my needs and what my history was with my eyes. I did not feel rushed or as they say "I felt like a number". I just wish they had more of a selection of glasses but I think that falls on my insurance and what they cover.

I have NEVER been disappointed with a visit to Dr. Boyer's office. I have been seeing him for years now, and even though I have moved almost two hours away, it is worth the drive to be able to stay with him. He is VERY thorough in his examinations and in his explanations of what can be done and what needs to be done. While other optometrists have given up on improving my vision, Dr. Boyer has always been willing to work with me until we find the best solutions for my needs, His staff also finds the best way for me to handle our transactions financially. I purchased an expensive Michael Kos pair of sunglasses from you in March 2019. Well a few days ago the glasses broke, un-repairable at the weld. I contacted your office and had another pair which appreciated you swapping the lens into, but again I am disappointed with the quality of these sunglasses purchased. I believe I should get more than 1 year out of a pair of sunglasses, why is it you did not keep these glasses and return to your supplier as the quality and service are what makes a difference when purchasing. Again this is why my husband is so reluctant to purchase your glasses. Disappointed as this is the 3rd pair of sunglasses in the last few years from you. Hopefully this will be looked into for the quality is of concern. The customer service when you are not in the office is certainly not what it usually is, I felt I was an imposition in the day.

Phenomenal contact lens consultation and refraction by Dr. Boyer. Dr. Boyer is excellent in determining the appropriate prescription for contact lens and eyewear. I wear monovision lenses and they always work together perfectly. He has always been concerned with my vision problems and not only makes sure that my vision is as good as can be, but checks with me to make certain that I am consulting with an ophthalmologist. I highly recommend him. Also, Brad, his eyewear technician, is superb, very knowledgeable, and takes time to make sure you get the eyewear that you need and want. Also, they have a huge selection of eyeglasses.

For the many people who staff your optometrist office, I found the service slow and the office very packed. Seemed like the doctors had familial commitments that distracted from prompt service.

I don't know how to put this. My family and I won't be coming back there. It;s not because of the service, it's because of my INSURANCE. I can't get a answer from the doctor about my eyes, are to what's going with my eyes, because of my INSURANCE, but yet I can get eyeglasses as I was told. I could be going blind and the doctor won't tell me because of my INSURANCE. That's the first time, I have ever heard of such. Just my opinion I feel like the doctor is working for the INSURANCE CO., instead of me. So please delete me and my family from your system. GOD BLESS !!!

The service was great from everyone I interacted with. I moved through very efficiently. The only thing that was disappointing were the prices on frames. One of the least expensive pairs of glasses would have been over $150 with lenses and that was with my 35% discount. I have found more affordable options online.

I came in on my lunch break for emergency glasses as I lost mine over the weekend. I got an immediate appointment and they got me out of there in 45 minutes. My glasses were ready same day. With the limited time I was there i was very grateful that the staff acknowledged my strict time frame and I appreciated the up to date testing equipment. Making an appointment with Dr Boyer Optometry was super easy and their later open hours are convenient for after work appointments. All the staff are kind and polite. This optometry office is full of cool new gadgets to test eye health. The gadgets are all cleaned before use and any questions are explained. Next I got to meet with Dr Brian who was very nice and very funny. It turns out there's some funny business going on with my eye, and he was able to explain it to me and let me know how I could proceed. It was nice that he wasn't dismissive because I am a worry wort and would've stressed out forever. I was very grateful for this and his patience with all my questions. It was a very nice and stress free appointment. I can't wait for my follow up. The selection of eyeware is extensive and I was so excited to find a glittery pair of glasses! I have never seen those before and was so excited to order them. The man that was assisting me even checked for more available colors in the frames for me. He was very helpful with that and patient. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and I will recommend friends and family.

My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Boyer for over 15 yrs. However our experience at the clinic this time was not the best. Both of us were taken for the eye tests together by the technician. While I was on my 3rd test she realized that she had logged me under my husband's name!! Secondly, she was trying to give us both instructions. It didn't work very well, wasn't always clear who the instruction was for. My husband was most dissatisfied, The space where the tests are done is very small. It would be better had she concentrated on one patient at a time. Would have been efficient and mistake free.

I am very sorry for the negative experience you had in our office. Some of our patients like to go back together when a husband and wife. We do not have a problem with pre testing one at a time if that is your preference. Dr Boyer's office is full of helpful and kind staff and the best doctors! I had a great experience going in for a medical eye exam. I was worried about my eye, but Dr. Boyer helped me feel at ease and comfortable. The staff all around the office are attentive and helpful, especially when I call to make an appointment. ;)

I have been with office for about 10 years.. Even when we moved to Riverside, we took the drive to stay with Dr Boyer, on my last appointment I was in a hurry and forgot my purse, so was notified they wouldnt put in my order for my glasses untill they got the $10.00 copay..maybe Im wrong but that juat rubbed me the wrong way.. Of course I was gonna pay..they know I always do.. They could have said bring copay when you pick up your glasses or we wont be able to give you the glasses? Going to look for local Dr after this visit.. Drive is to far anyways and felt like there was no trust that I was gonna pay the $10.00? When I explained to Employee how I felt he bacacally just brushed me off..

We normally would not process the job without a deposit if patient owes on them because they are ordered to patient prescription, however we would let you pay co payment on delivery. Very good visit. I believe Dr Boyer is honest and a knowleable optometrist. His exam was thorough and complete. I was not really sure what the 4 tests the technician gave me measured. It would have been nice if that was explained to me before I took the tests. I think one was for glaucoma and two others the tech said were for measuring my eyes. One was to Measure my peripheral vision explained to me before I had the tests.

Dr Boyle provided excellent customer service. The staff was friendly and courteous. My only complaint (or maybe I should have asked), after I left I wondered if there were any rebates on the contacts I ordered. I ordered a year supply. In the past when you ordered that quantity, it usually came with a rebate or discount. The office would provide a few sample size contact lens cleaner samples, but none were provided at this last visit.

Before my contact exam I asked the girl on the phone how much it would be for my exam. She told me it was $79 and that insurance didn't pay for it. I went in thinking I would spend $79. I was surprised that the highest cost item was the ARC, but appreciated at least being advised ARC is under warranty for two years. However, re: question 4, there was no discussion of my lifestyle or presentation of different options based upon lifestyle, performance, and cost. This could be an opportunity. Otherwise, great experience and I was particularly appreciative of the care, explanations, and referral to my primary physician of a concern provided by the optometrist.

I have been going to this facility for several years and highly recommend it. The staff is professional and extremely helpful. I have a tendency to lose the screws to my glasses and they have always replaced them quickly and at no charge. The Drs explain everything throughout the examination process and truly want to help with any other eye problems you may have. I have floaters and had no clue as to any problems they may cause me. I didn't even know what they were called. Dr Boyer took the time to explain and show me examples of floaters and assured me that I had nothing to worry about.

I am quite satisfied with the new lenses I received from you, but I do not intend to return to your practice for future services. When I made the appointment for November 24, I said that I was under the regular care of ophthalmologists at UCLA, and only wanted new lenses. When I arrived for my appointment, I made it very clear that the only service I wanted was a new prescription for lenses. At least twice a year, I see one ophthalmologist in the Glaucoma Division and another in the Cornea Division at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA, so my eyes are frequently and thoroughly monitored there. I had cornea surgery there about six months ago, and was advised that after six months I should get a new prescription for my glasses, which is why I went to you. The bill for my November 24 appointment includes a charge of $109 for “1 Exam Comprehensive New P”. I do not think I needed a Comprehensive Exam, and should not have been given or billed for one.

The actual products (frames, contacts, etc.) seem a bit pricey, but I believe the service of staff and expertise of the doctors are excellent.

I've been to many eye Doctor but I feel Boyer is the right one for me, he's always prompt in what he does and a great guy to always converse with, matter fact the staff as well are very nice and courthouse

I am a business woman but I am terrible when it comes to choosing glasses. The doctor took time with me to address all my issues and questions about Lasik vs. glasses etc. The optician helped me find a starting point to pick out glasses. As always, I came away with classy glasses that look good on me as well as being set up with the best lenses etc. The optician made it an enjoyable experience too! I forgot his name but he was great. I always feel good about my purchases at this office.

It's not that I dislike the text/email option, but I was sent 4 different text reminders, despite confirming my appointment and I was also sent 2 emails, despite confirming my appointment through there as well. I do enjoy receiving a reminder, but I don't think I need that many.
