I was very impressed by Dr Bloch, he noticed things I was concerned about and I didn't even have to bring it up. I have not had a better eye doctor in all my life.

Amazing experience would highly recommend, we really appreciate all the help and amazing bedside manner. Our 3 year old was able to get through her whole eye exam and not only left happy but problem solved as well. I have worked in the medical field for the past 15 years and know when I’ve found a good doctor and staff. I always look forward to my visits with Dr. Bloch. He is fun and happy and has a great sense of humor. He takes an interest in your life and actually remembers things you told him about last year. I feel that shows he cares. He always takes his time with me. I never feel rushed. He explains all the testing and the results. He explains all the options that are out there and up and coming new products. He also explains the pros and cons of everything,. He then helps you make the best decision to fit both life style and budget. A wonderful doctor and person.

This was my first visit to the office, for a relatively urgent situation. I had an excellent impression of the Dr. Bloch and the entire staff. The care and education was superb and the visit went far beyond my expectations. They all stayed late just to see me and help me on the day of my visit. Dr. Bloch is clearly a very knowledgeable and highly competent doctor. They were all very kind and accommodating. I highly recommend this office.

The staff is quite friendly and super helpful be it the administrative stuff or tutoring you on how to use contacts :) . Dr. Bloch is just the kind of doctor you hear about from your parents or even grandparents! Very patient, thorough, and caring. He listens to you, answers the questions, and then explains clearly what he is about to do and why (if you are interested like me :) ) and then proceeds to perform the test/check/procedure. My impression is that they don't rush anything. And that is what I expect from my doctor and his/her staff :) Thank you!

While staff are professional, there is an excess in clinician-type behavior and lack of warmth that was obvious. A little friendliness and an attempt to establish rapport in a genuine manner with clients/patients would go a long way in establishing a more positive experience. I had the distinct impression that the women did not enjoy their jobs very much. However, overall service was good.

I was orginally referred to Dr. Bloch from a friend and made an appointment for my 6 year old son. Dr. Bloch and the staff in the office were amazing! Dr. Bloch's team got me in the same day I called with an eye problem and provided me with immediate assistance. With Scripps being completely down and not scheduling appointments, I was left on my own for a few weeks and the time he and his staff provided me is most appreciated and helpful. I encourage others to definately seek this doctor and his location is ideal!

I brought my four year old for an exam. The doctor is good at what he does as far as the exam goes. We got there 15min late but still had to wait to be seen about 5-10min. I mention this because we were RUSHED into the exam room (my daughter was playing with a puzzle, when she was called I was picking up the puzzle pieces and he very rudely said “you can pick them up later come on hurry up” . then we Rushed out by the doctor because as he said “his next patient was there.” I was pretty surprised to be treated in that manner so I won’t be coming back as it made me feel uncomfortable. Maybe I just don’t get his sense of humor. The rest of the staff was super nice.

From the time I made the first call to set an appointment, to getting in a week early because I was having really bad headaches trying to work at my computer, to picking the right glasses and Dr. Bloch figuring out it wasn't just my lost glasses that was causing me so many vision issues, but I was in fact experiencing vision changes consistent with an injury I had a couple months ago. I don't think a chain warehouse-type place would have even bothered with that....Dr. Bloch is personable, answered all my questions, and we had interesting conversation about other topics. Chelsea, Jan, Crystal were all very nice and helpful, I am so glad I chose Dr. Bloch and his team for my vision needs. Thanks! Dina

DR Bloch is friendly, very detail oriented, does not rush, and seems very satisfied spending ample time explaining his findings. He seems like a genuine good guy and solid professional who enjoys helping people. I would recommend DR Bloch to my friends and family. My appointment was a general checkup. Scheduling took only a week but days and times were flexible to work with my schedule. The time frame seemed reasonable to me. I was able to come back any time in a month's time frame no extra charge for a checkup since I was unable to dilate the day of my eye tests. I'm very satisfied.

My family & I we’re visiting in San Diego from the San Fernando Valley when my contact lens became lodged in the back of my eye. I found Dr. Bloch on line & he & his staff took me in as a walk-in emergency patient. Dr. Bloch was very thorough, took a detailed history before just removing my lodged lens. He wanted to make sure there was no trauma or damage to my eye before doing anything. I’m very grateful for his wellness to examine & saved my from going to an Urgent Care or E.R. And most importantly he safes my vacation time I had planned with my wife & our autistic son.

I have unique eyes because of three eye surgeries in 1990-92. My vision fluctuates all of the time. I can get by without glasses most of the time but when I need them I really need them. I need near sighted, far sighted, and tilted vision correction. Quite the challenge. Dr. Bloch and his staff were so patient and helpful me through my whole exam that needed all of the extras like retinal scans and dilation. Everyone was cheerful and informative. I highly recommend Dr Bloch and his whole staff. I will absolutely go back to them next time I need an exam and glasses.

So after reading many reviews I decided to go to Dr. Bloch my son is 3 years old almost 4 and he has autism so I needed a doctor who was going to take his time and be patient doing my sons eye exam. If you are an older person let the doctor know if he is going a little too fast in asking which you to discriminate on the lenses he is asking you to judge. I think an aged person has more difficulty in quick judgements.

I would not think of going to anyone else but Dr. Bloch. He is the only person that was able to fit me with bifocal contact lenses that worked and were comfortable. He guided me through the laser surgery and does all of my follow-up examens. I trust him with my eyes.

It's been 2+ years since I've been to an Optometrist, so I was extremely nervous about meeting Dr. Bloch and finding out wether I could get contacts or not. Hands down this has got to be the best Optometrist I've ever encountered!!! Before I knew it I was walking out of that office with contacts feeling like a brand new person!!! Dr. Bloch is so funny and down to earth, I see now why he has the best reviews on Yelp!!! Not only was his team welcoming, but they helped teach me how to put the contacts on and off in half an hour. Everyone in that office was so kind and understanding! I can't wait to go back and soon make an appointment for my kids as well!

I have two pretty skiddish girls when it comes to particularly male doctors. From the get go Dr. Bloch came out to call the girls back wearing over-sized clown glasses to get them intrigued and draw them into participating. I love Dr. Bloch and his staff. They are quick and easy to talk to about any issues? Everyone in the office is great! He was on time with my exam (no wait time), helpful, patient friendly and professionalism. Dr. Bloch is very detailed and helps educate you on every tests he performs on your eyes. Dr. Bloch is always helpful and cheerful and doesn't force anything on you. He suggests things you might need or want, but never makes you feel that you have to purchase any additional services which I really like. I would definitely recommend them!

Their customer service couldn’t be any better and let’s say patience. I unfortunately can’t find a babysitter every time I have an appointment so my son under 1 makes the appointment with me. He’ll cry and scream for most of the appointment. Everyone in the office always helps and seems to understand. The patience they have with me is so unbelievable. The doctor and the assistants have never given a side look of any sort, of anything they are always ready help. I’m so happy to have found such a doctor and office.

I was very impressed with the extent of the exam he performed. It was not just a "basic" exam. He checked for things I never even thought of checking for. Things I didn't even know about. I am very pleased to have him as the eye doctor for my children and am looking forward to enrolling my kids into his reading program to help benefit their needs. Also am looking forward to my eye exam next year. I have complete confidence in him and couldn't have asked for a better optometrist. Thankful to have found Dr. Bloch and his staff.

I selected Dr. Bloch via internet. I initially thought that he would not be able to help me because it appears that his specialty was pediatrics. To my chagrin I was very impressed. He is competent, knowledgeable and I left the office feeling very hopeful with all my stigmatisms. Great assessment.

My husband and I don't have family in the area and we came in for an appointment with our children. The entire staff was helpful and kind and engaged with them through out the day. Our exams were done quickly but not rushed and the Dr was very informative. If we lived here full time this would be our new Dr.

We're new patients and so thrilled we chose Dr David Bloch. He's thorough and explains everything that he's doing. My 13 yr old daughter was pretty nervous at first, but he made her comfortable, went through the whole exam with her and even made her laugh. I really appreciated that. Also, the lady who helped us with the frame purchases was patient and helped my teen chose the perfect ones. Would also like to add that if you're appointment is at 10am, they are ready for you at 10am. No waiting! A rarity these days. Overall, great office! I would recommend to all my co-workers with my insurance plan.

I was very concerned about my left eye after visiting an Urgent care about my eye and my vision was not getting better after a week. I made an appt. with Dr Bloch and he is using a different treatment. I have a return apt on Wednesday and I am anxious to see if there is any improvement

I just had my first visit as a new patient last week. Dr. Bloch and his staff were very kind, friendly, and professional. Sadly, many other offices I've dealt with simply don't realize the importance of being nice. I did have to wait a bit, but that's pretty standard these days. Dr. Bloch did a great job of listening to my concerns and issues, and explaining my options for contact lenses and recommendations based on my vision, insurance, lifestyle, and the available technology. I felt confident about the care that I received and happy to have found this office.

While picking up my new glasses, Dr Bloch took time out of his busy schedule to sit down with my two young children and demonstrate his magic trick abilities. A brief positive interaction that will not be forgotten. Jan is the receptionist as you enter the office, very professional demeanor and a pleasure to interact with during my visits. My son had an eye emergency and Dr. Bloch's office gave him an appointment almost immediately. Dr. Bloch spent a tremendous amount of time making my son feel comfortable and was patient when he was uncooperative (he's 2). We had been treating him for pink eye but Dr. Bloch determined that there was a piece of plant material under his eyelid and was able to get it out. His office also called over the weekend to check on my little guy. We will be back again for check ups!

We were on vacation and out of town and neede an urgent eye exam for my young daughter and Dr. Bloch accomadated the next morning walk in and the staff was so caring and understanding. The professionalism and Dr. Bloch's went out of his way to make sure my daughter was not scared. The service was suberb! If we lived near by we would have switched doctors!

My visit at Dr. Bloch's office was phenomenal. He spent extensive time with me listening, answering questions, and making recommendations. His expertise is apparent and he offered me very individualized strategies to improve my vision in my contact lenses. The optician was very knowledgeable and helped me select glass frames that meet my needs. His front office was friendly and pleasant. Dr. Bloch is by far the best eye doctor I've ever visited. I have been the most impressed with his ability to identify the problem, explain it and then treat it successfully. My daughter has been in glasses since age 2. She has a very strong and complicated prescription and he patiently worked with her over several appointments to get it just right. Now she has the cutest glasses as well as contacts and she can see better than ever. The office staff is also great. They're very friendly, knowledgeable, professional and very easy to work with. And they have lots of great-looking frames for both kids and adults. I would highly recommend Dr. Bloch's office to anyone who is looking for the best for the whole family.

I recently took my sons in for their first optimist appointment and I'm so happy it was with Dr. Bloch. My 4 and 6 year old boys loved every minute of their visit and actually complained when it was time to leave. i absolutely love this place. Dr. Bloch was very patient with my shy six year old son, and really took his time making sure we got him in the right pair of glasses. My son thinks Dr. Block is cool and funny. Definitely recommend him to parents of small kids. And his staff was very friendly and helpful.

This was by the far the best experience we have ever had with a pediatric physician. Absolutely amazing! Dr. Bloch had my son's attention from the minute he walked in the waiting room with gigantic glasses on. I would give it a 15 out of 10 stars!

An Urgent issue without an appointment, I was expeditiously seen. Dr. Bloch was at one time precise and confident as he diagnosed and provided initial treatment for my illness. His care instructions were spot-on and the final cost was most reasonable. Wouldn't seek eye treatment anywhere else.

I have now been seeing Dr. Bloch for 16 years and he was the only eye doctor that was able to put me in bifocal hard contact lenses that were very comfortable and gave me clear vision. Believe me, other doctors couldn't even come close to adjusting the bifocal contact like Dr. Bloch. I had to have hard lenses due to my astigmatism. I say 'was' because Dr..Bloch was my liaison doctor for my laser surgery to change my vision. I still see Dr. Bloch for all of my check-ups.

Dr Bloch has been wonderful to our son who is four years old and has been diagnosed with amblyopia and strabismus. We have been doing vision therapy with Dr. Bloch and have seen a significant improvement in a short time. He is professional, caring and fun. Our son always looks forward to seeing him and Dr. Bloch always conducts our sons exams in a pleasant and playful manner. His entire staff is very friendly and personable and I would absolutely recommend Dr. David Bloch Optometry. We are lucky to have been referred to him!
