Everyone was professional and very pleasant. After filling the insurance paperwork work, then the preliminary eye exams and X-ray of the eyes, I was sent to a room to wait for Dr Burr. Dr Burr is a very professional and knowledgeable Dr, I’d see her again. My complaint is that I waited to be seen by 35 almost 40 minutes, she said she was busy with patients. I got there at 3:35 (my appointment was at 4:00) and left the building at 5:15. Is this a normal wait time for patients to wait?

Dr Stevenson was great in explaining what they were looking at and what it meant since I haven't had an eye exam in 40 years. The assistants with all data gathering and testing were very helpful as well. I felt very comfortable with the visit and a very pleasant experience.

Yesterday I had my annual exam with Dr. Cook. The pre-screen work with Nick and the eye exam where all very professional and efficient with good dialogue on my eye concerns. Scheduling and timing was perfect. The new facility is impressive and equipment is state of the art.

Appointment wasn’t given when I left on Nov. 2022,. I’m glad I thought of it in Feb & got an appointment in Shallotte VS Calabash ( where I usually go) .w Dr Webb! Although I almost had to get another date & time as I was called the day before that Dr Webb needed to move up her schedule that day. I made sure I got an appointment for next yr when I left!

The Shallotte location is sparkling clean and staffed by the best in the business. Dr Burr is fantastic. I called to have my medical records transferred from Virginia and low and behold, the owner, Dr Moshoures answered the phone himself. He called my old optometrist and had the records transferred. Talk about hands on service! I felt like “family.” Highly recommended.

Dr Burr and your staff are wonderful. I went to the Shallotte office suffering from styes in both of my eyes. From getting an appointment quickly to being treated by your staff there I was very appreciative. Dr Burr explained what a stye is and gave me detailed instructions on how to treat it. Everyone was more than kind. I also received a call this morning making sure I understood the instructions. I will surely recommend your practice and especially Dr Burr.

The facilities were clean and the equipment state of the art. The staff greeted me with friendly and welcoming words. The technician was knowledgeable and friendly. The optometrist was professional and explained the procedures and outcomes such that I could understand what my status was. The eye glass area contained an adequate selection of frames. The assistant was knowledgeable and helpful and explained all my options for purchasing frames with the prescription given to me. Checkout was easy. I felt that the whole operation was well planned and my walking thru the steps from one segment to the next flowed smoothly. A class act.

I must say that the whole experience from the time I arrived until I left was truly amazing! The entire staff was very professional, super friendly and courteous. Very good experience. Dr Burr and her staff were very attentive, and thorough as usual, and handled my concerns promptly, They explained everything in great detail. Only hiccup was with the pharmacy at Harris Teeter in Leland. They only had one prescription showing as called in instead of two needed. Not sure what, or how that happened, but the vision Square staff were very helpful correcting everything. Overall I am very pleased with Dr Burr, and Vision Square.

This is the second time my husband sat in the car 3 hours waiting for me. I had a stroke and can’t drive. Since your fire I’ve never seen such disorder .

I appreciated Dr. Moshoures thorough examination of my eyes and consideration of the problem I was having with my glasses. I understand better the way the weakening of my eye muscles complicate my adapting to the prisms in the lenses. Please add a 6th star to the above rating. I really like the Doctors and the care that I get but the wait time is crazy long. I have yet to go there and not wait over an hour to see my doctor. I am usually there for almost two hours for a 10 minute visit. They really need to work on that.

No overly long wait for the exam, all they staff were professional, friendly and genuinely seemed happy working there. All areas of the space were very clean and pleasing to the eye. Our service a VSE is always excellent. The techs are very polite, friendly and efficient. Dr. Cooke is very professional and her explanations are patient friendly. The optical department meets our needs. At times I think their frame options are limited yet I still go back there to purchase my glasses.

First time visiting at the new Shallotte office building. Nice and bright, quick check in. Busy today lobby and parking lot full. Staff are friendly and professional, state of the art equipment. I saw Dr. Burr and she is very people oriented and a great doctor. Very happy with my care. Did not get glasses so can’t review that part of the facility.

Not happy at all.surg on eyes ,call energy number x 2 times just disconnects.left message.was told 1 thing preservatives verses no preservative question meds after back and forth x 3 hrs by pharm and office,still no answer from MD about meds.Did get help from the Griffith answer us over wked ,ck with us latter.their emerg number was answered by people.not happy at all after 17yrs going to them.UNACCEPTABLE .⁶

Almost got it right. At check out I failed to get the eye drops or coupon that was offered by the doctor. Sadly, (for me), the insurance supplement I purchased, (Surebridge ,DO NOT BUY IT!) was so difficult to deal with I was out of pocket on this visit. A shout out to Tina, who put up with a completely NON-supportive Customer Relations person at my insurance company. (again, DO NOT buy insurance from Surebridge, part of the Chesapeake Life Insurance Co!) Also, I noticed when I got home that my RX did not contain the PD measurement, as it had in past visits.

First, the Vision Square Eye Clinic facility was, in itself, very impressive. The Registration Staff proved to be friendly, courteous and professional. Lilly, who administered my eye test, has a wonderful disposition and it was immediately reflected in her approach to Patient Care. Dr Burr, who attended to me, is not only extremely competent, but very pleasant in her demeanor and administration of addressing the needs of a given Patient. Since this was my first time at the Shallotte facility I was quite pleased in all aspects of my visit.

I adore Dr D but, since she's retiring, I am leaving the practice. I had an emergency visit on Sat for a lacerated cornea (for the 3rd time). I returned on Tues for a check. First, the waiting room was packed and there is no social distancing. Then I waited an hour to be seen for a 5 minute check. This is absurd. Since I moved to Wilmington, it is an hour each way. I was willing to do it for Dr D but now I have to find someone new anyway so I'm going closer to home. I won't give up 3 hrs of my time for a 5 minute visit.

Very nice large facility in Shallotte almost too large. I was moved to four different rooms to have testing done. one photo test was repeated over and over and over again until somebody more familiar with the equipment or procedure came in and took care of it correctly. This seems excessive and took an awful lot of time. My wife also had an exam at Vision Square in Calabash yesterday and had to wait an exceedingly long time to be seen by the doctor. Then she was forced to pay a co-pay upon leaving even though she asked to have the insurance billed as this should be part of our preventive benefit instead but they would not comply. I was not asked to pay a co-pay at the Shallotte office on the same day for the same procedures. she was not pleased with the total experience.

Service was prompt, efficient, and done in a very pleasant manner. Only problem I had was that the room that I was in was VERY cold and it made it uncomfortable for me. I am totally pleased with the exam & directive Dr. Webb continues to provide to me over the many years where I have been a patient at Vision Square. She is personable as well as a knowledgeable optometrist. And I always enjoy the birthday letter Dr. Moshoures sends annually as it is always interesting along with some comedy scattered about the published articles. I do have 2 comment to make: I do understand that this is a busy practice, and am always prepared to have a wait time prior to my exam. However, yesterday, I sat in the inside thruway waiting area for 40+ minutes before being seated in the appointed exam room. And was totally uncomfortable & chilled sitting in that cold breezeway. And no one seemed to care or recognize this extended wait time. I do know this is a busy practice, and there are current limitations due to Covid-19, however, as a patient. I would have expected some consideration from the staff, as I felt totally ignored. Additionally, I received an email advising of my 2PM appointment 55 minutes prior to my appointment. I question the timing of receipt of this late email when I was enroute to this appointment; & as well as the fact that I am not sitting at my computer or looking at my cell phone for emails 24/7! It surely would be beneficial to send appointment reminders well before the day of an appointment, let alone less than 1 hour prior.

I had a 9:00 am appointment. I arrived at 8:50, and was stuck in a crowded waiting room until 9:30. Some of those waiting were NOT wearing masks properly. After being called in 30 minutes late, it took another 30 minutes being tested and some of that time was waiting for a room to be available. I was finally shown to an examining room where I waited another 15 minutes for the Dr. to come in. I don't know the purpose of the appointment if the delays are that substantial, nor do I appreciate being stuck in a crowded room with the current pandemic. I had also called after being notified last week that Dr. Moshoures would not be examining me. I want to switch Drs. but again no one returned my call. This is not the professional operation that I have become used to. I was also not asked about my next appointment, so I'll probably not be making one. I hope that lack of Chris' daily involvement will not negatively affect the operation as it did yesterday. Charles Josephson

My wife has been a satisfied patient of Dr. Moshoures at Vision Square for over 15 years. Yesterday, when I woke up with painful, red and burning eyes, Vision Square worked me in right away to see Dr. Martin. Upon examination, she referred me to an ophthalmologist for immediate treatment and then called me later in the day to check on how I was doing...as well as to make a follow-up appointment with me. The Ophthalmologist, (Dr. Groat) had called Dr. Martin at Vision Square to inform her of his findings and treatment, requesting she follow-up in 3 days. He put some kind of healing contacts in my eyes and put me on 2 different eye drops to help heal the damage from a suspected airborne chemical. After only 36 hours, I can now tolerate light, my vision is improving, the burning has subsided, & the redness is clearing also clearing up. I can't imagine how bad the damage would have been if I had not had VISION SQUARE & their wonderful staff recognize the urgency for my visit and the knowledge to seek further assistance. AN ADDITIONAL 5 STAR REVIEW HAPPENED IN 2005 It was almost closing time when my wife came in from the Beach, having very dry eyes, and immediately reached for her eye drops.... Just as the first drop was falling, she realized she had picked up her crazy glue bottle. The drop entered her left eye...she screamed in pain...and it was glued shut. We called Vision Square, they said come in, we will wait on you. Long story short...corneal damage, but it healed & sight was saved. My wife, being an RN, knew a trip to the ER would compare to going straight to a Specialist.

Very pleased with the service, however, when I picked up my glasses I was handed a bag and told there were complimentary lens cleaning solution and cloth in the bag. The staff, doctor were very pleasant, helpful. I am happy with the information that was explained to me and the details of my diagnosis. My appointment was at 2:30. I arrived at 2:18. I was called in 15 min after 2:30 for preliminary analysis. I did have to wait long before the doctor arrived. The doctor came in at 3:35. He did apologize. Mask was under his nose. I was greeted at the door by a friendly staff member who had me fill out a COVID sheet and took my temperature. She handed me her pen to sign the sheet. Again, she handed me her pen to sign the sheet not a clean pen. I was taken aback that I was not to wait in my car as most other places are practicing. Instead, I was directed to wait in the waiting area. There was another patient in the waiting area. That patient was called in by a nurse. Another patient walked in without a mask on. It was in his back pocket. Yet he was allowed to come in? He sat in the same chair that the last patient was in. That chair was never wiped cleaned from the patient before. When he was called in, his chair was not wiped down. A third patient came in. Same chair. Not wiped down. I assume that mine wasn't as well. Other places that I have had appointments with have me wait in my car, they wipe down the chair before and after I sit in it. They wipe down the entire counter before I put my personal belongings on it. The person that waits on me sanitizes or washes their hands before the service. The doctor, staff did not do this when I was helped. Maybe they did this exercise beforehand. The exams rooms were sanitized. The nurse had me sign a document with her pen not a clean one yet she sanitized the pen after I used it. She did not sanitize it before my use. Frames were sanitized after each use. When asked for my signature, I was handed the pen that the staff was using not a clean one. My appointment was completed at 4:35. 2+ hours. Not acceptable. What I witnessed, experienced was disappointing.

I have seen Dr. DesLauriers since retiring and moving to the area a few years ago. I had worn glasses for 59 years. In addition to routine care associated with new glasses, Dr. DesLauriers made the initial diagnosis of developing cataracts on my first visit. A couple months ago, she advised that it was time for surgery. Surgery was very successful, and the surgeon has released me to co-managed follow up care to Dr. DesLauriers. I could not be more satisfied with the treatment received directly from Dr. DesLauriers as well as all the techs in the practice that I have seen. There is an atmosphere of professionalism, but nicely tempered with a friendly, casual approach. Everyone takes the time to effectively respond to any questions and concerns.

5+ STARS. From entering the front door, to the receptionist pleasant smile, to all the technical care especially dr Cooke, I rate them 5 STARS. Everyone is very helpful, cordial and receptive. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my eye care. I feel I'm in good hands and my eyes are carefully examined.

Needed emergency eye care. Had me come to the office within an hour. Provided excellent eye care that prevented further damage to the eye. The best you will find anywhere in Southeastern NC and likely beyond that.

Had a contact emergency, cracked one contact. Needed appointment & new contacts. Got next day appt. and it was wonderful. Professional staff all the way around. Covid protocols followed, very clean office. Staff very kind & helpful, Doctor M. was very thorough & explained all tests, and findings. Getting ready to relocate here and will use them again, my family to. Thank you for a great experience, looking forward to new contacts & future visits. Highly recommend this practice!

This was my first visit. Very surprised at efficiency and attention to detail shown for a new patient. Appointment was right on time, no sitting and waiting. All the employees were extremely courteous and courteous. Really impressed with office and staff efficiency. All Covid-19 measures were in place and handled with ease.

Outstanding service and eye exam. Dr. Webb and her staff were courteous and knowledgeable . I was especially impressed with their safety measures during this COVID pandemic. I would certainly recommend Dr. Webb to anyone who needs an excellent and thorough eye exam! I will be returning next summer for a follow up visit!

My pre exam went smoothly, the technician was very polite and explained each test in detail. Dr. Cooke is very nice and made some great suggestions to improve my vision and she reviewed my pre-exam results in detail. I never felt rushed. Look forward to my next appointment.

I am usually pleased with the quality of services offered and the providers. I don’t know what happened on July 14th, but the wait time was horrific! My appointment was @ 3:00p. I always arrive on time. I wasn’t called back until 4:30p. Then it was another wait for a room to be examined by the doctor. It was literally 5:30p before I got out of there. I get having to go thru extra steps and precautions with COVID, but the process is broken and there needs to be better coordination among the staff. Unacceptable!
